PIN Lock Bypass - Asus Transformer TF700

Can any of you suggest a way to bypass the lock screen PIN code? I set mine up last night and this morning can't log in. I tried a lock screen bypass app from Play and it didn't work.

Are you referring to a "required" PIN code, due to being synced to an Exchange server?

Relevant additional question! If this is the case, Touchdown for Tablets could fix it for you (trial available), and if you're referring to the system lockscreen either "No Lock" or "Battery Indicator Pro"(yes, that last one includes a "disable lockscreen" function -- don't ask me why; I like it, though). I have used No Lock extensively on my SGS2, but that was under GB -- don't know if it works under ICS...

[GUIDE] Pattern Unlock with Exchange Server Security Policy for 2.1 & 2.2

This actually maybe more of a bug than a setting.
1) Do not setup your exchange account settings yet
2) go to menu > setting > security and set a screen unlock pattern
3) set up your exchange account settings and sync
3a) if your server security requires a pin unlock it will ask you now
3b) go ahead and setup a pin
4) now you'll notice when you turn on the screen you have to swipe down with the htc lock screen then a pin then a pattern unlock.
5) install lockpicker and disable the exchange screen password requirement
6) Now you will swipe down then do the pattern unlock
I hated typing in a pin every time i used my phone when i was on WM and find this is a decent alternative.
To change your lock pattern once you have everything set:
"to reset the unlock pattern, simply enter the wrong pattern 5 times, and then login with your google account. As soon as you've done that, then you are prompted for a new pattern." -- kitstable (Thanks!)
Also here's a nice widget to toggle your lock pattern
http://www.appbrain.com/app/com.curvefish.widgets.lockpatternonoff
Hope it helps.

Updates for 2.2:
Look at this thread here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=655649
Follow the instructions as you will have to run the script to edit the mail.apk or email.apk depending on whether you are using ASOP or Sense client.
I am running this using the vael rom and it works very well.
Exactly what I was looking for thank you.
Thanks for that, just what I was looking for.
I started with a easy pattern, so found this out trying to change it - to reset the unlock pattern, simply enter the wrong pattern 5 times, and then login with your google account.
As soon as you've done that you're prompted for a new pattern.
Thank you.
You can grab Quick Settings off the market, this will allow you to toggle the pattern on and off, and change the pattern.
cant seem to change the unlock pattern with quick settings but putting in the wrong pattern 5 times then changing seems to work. Also found a cool widget called lockpattern onoff that allows you to toggle whether you want your lock pattern or not.
http://www.appbrain.com/app/com.curvefish.widgets.lockpatternonoff
Very helpful. Thank you.
I followed the directions here and entered the password for Exchange when prompted. I let the screen go and went to unlock, but I didn't have the pattern unlock. I just typed in the password and that is it. Looking at the security settings I now see options for the password and not the visible pattern.
Do have to use a pin for this trick to work? Or did the latest OTA improve security?
You sure you set the patern unlock and verified it worked prior to setting up your exchange account?
With Froyo, I think this functionality is built-in (i.e, you can use pattern unlock for Exchange) without having to go through all the steps mentioned.
I remember being able to do this with one of the CM6 nightly builds.

Yes, I did verify it before syncing with Exchange. I also created a NAND backup before syncing and after verifying pattern unlock. And if I restore I will go back and it will prompt me to pattern unlock before going into phone.
So even though the Exchange guy told me its just a pin, it appears the policy on the mail server is requiring a password, something strong than just a pin. So I think that is why I am unable to make use of this.

are you running 2.1 or 2.2?
I have not tried this, but I am unable to use a pattern unlock by default because of the security requirements. I am only able to use pin/password. I'm on 2.2 rooted now.
What sucks since GOING to 2.2 is that I can't use Swype to unlock the phone. I didn't mind the password since I could draw it with Swype. I hate the password/pin stuff . . . WITHOUT Swype.
Anyway to reenable Swype's use for password entry on 2.2?
lockpicker says its not supported by 2.2. it worked great on 2.1, but i guess the new build really messed it up.
if the dev of lockpicker would make the app work with 2.2, I, and many other would donate pretty good, Im sure.
Or if another dev could make an optionin teh security tab to lock screen after , say, 24 hours of no activity, instead of 15 at teh longest, that would be great...
Just updated first post to reflect some development regarding this feature on 2.2

Swype works fine for me on 2.2. Just this method doesn't seem to work at all for me. I think the requirements from our Exchange policy are on the strict side.
There was a post on xda forums that used adb to go in and change the settings on the phone to force it to do what lockpicker did but this didn't require an app or even a background service to be running. I am unable to find that post now but I wonder if those same adb commands would work on 2.2. If so we wouldn't have to wait for lock picker to be updated and we could get rid of that background service and save some battery life. I can't remember what section it was in and searching returns too many duplicate posts making it very time consuming to look through that mess to find what I am looking for. If i ever find it I will link it in here.
I have this saved at work, I'll test and post it to see if it works.

With Secure Settings (and Tasker) it will do pattern lock. I am doing this. The only difference between KK and L with secure settings is you have to go into the spanner icon > Pattern unlock method [4.1+] > Lock Settings (Experimental)

I read somewhere (can't recall where) that, that is supposed to happen. You have to unlock first with pin/pattern then it should take affect but I too have only had this happen a couple times. The rest of the times it just simply unlocks.

Hmm. With the new experimental feature you mean?
But what I mean is it is broken sometimes. Doesn't accept the pattern. It shows the pattern path as correct and just hangs there, not unlocking, until I off and on the screen.
use the new play service apk and set location

Do you have Secure Settings?
And in secure setting do you have System+ Module enabled and set up as Device Admin?
What me and @rootSU were talking about is just a, you can say a bug, where the pattern is complete but it just hangs to unlock. You can see the pattern (Which I think sucks because someone else can see if you just leave your phone on that screen) but it just stays there. You lock your phone again and upon swiping the regular slide lock, there shouldn't be any prompt anymore and it should work fine after that.
I know using Tasker alone cause a lot of error like not disabling lock screen at all and just a blank screen sometimes.

Fingerprint unlock problem

With latest firmware (G930FXXU1APD1-G930FDBT1APC5-DBT) Im having problems when unlocking the device with fingerprint. It does not allow me, but instead I get:
“Enter pin instead of using fingerprint recognition because of security policy”
And I have to use the PIN.
This happens when locking the display with “lock wedged”. If the lock is made with button (power) ... or time out display. Then I can normally use the fingerprint.
Does someone also facing the problem?
Is there any solution – setting?
Best.
D.
Yes i had this and tried to reset my fingerprints when i tried that settings error and closed, then i couldnt change anything, pin, fingerprints, couldnt even factory reset. Cause it always asked for my pin and after i entered it settings would error rebooting didnt help. Finally using android device manager from my pc i had to do an erase. My s7 is stock and it had nothing disable at the time this happen.

there might be extra Policy set on ur device.
go to setting > Security > click on Clear Credentials
+ also check what is ur device administrator
:good:
I had that even on my Nexus 6P when using Nova's double tap to lock feature. I think it's something to do with Marshmallow actually.

Clear credentials is not active.
Device Admin - APP is added.
So the error is still there.

You can try Samsung's Good Lock app from Galaxy Apps store or, if you live outside U.S., from apkmirror.com. It's a System UI update that allows fingerprint unlock with third party locking widgets.
@ avah
This actually works. But ... then I get totally different lock screen display etc... that I actually don’t like.
So ... till now ... no real solution.
Best.
Hay
Question.
Is it possible to flash the phone back to previous ROM version via Odin… and you won’t get Knox void .. or something else??
I'm thinking to go back to previous ROM when lock and fingerprint worked OK.
Best

You can find details on that thread about this problem.
I'm having the same issue and I must say it is very annoying. Can't really see any reason why this should interfere with the security. Should be my choice to be honest. Would be nice to have a solution to this. Looks like it's been an issue for a long time as well. Found some threads about the 6P for example with the same issue.
Try use other app to pass that policy: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.luutinhit.doubletapscreenoff

Yes but the problem still remains so it was a good initiative. I've got a brand new S7 and I find this very annoying. If I switch off my screen with Nova, I have to use fingerprint+PIN Code to unlock. If I switch it with physical buttons, I only have to use fingerprints..

Swipe to unlock now gone

I had the Honor 6x set to unlock on Fingerprint. But after I removed it, it defaulted to enter in the PIN Number. I wanted to change back to None (Swipe to Unlock) but it is now grayed out. It says it is blocked by Administrator or Credentials. I went in there and cleared out the credentials, but still only had the unlock option for pattern, PIN, and password.

Well if you are not using fingerprint or corporate email, i can't think of any reason why it should be disbaled. If it really bothers you try reseting the phone and it should be working again. Then when you are setting up the phone again check at every step if this disables the unlock method

I was able to get it to work again by going into Reset Settings and doing that.
I had to redo my phone settings, which took about 10 min, but the Lock Screen is now back to None (swipe to unlock).

Question [solved] Fingerprint reader not working in third party apps

I use the fingerprint reader to log into the phone. It's working. But if I try to use biometric login features in keepass or my banking app it won't recognise my fingerprint. Does anyone else have this issue?
Edit after a reboot and deactivating and activating the authentication in other apps option and some more finger wiggling it worked.

I find it annoying Face unlock works(not for third party apps) however you still have to swipe up to get to home screen, lol
I've had to redo my fingerprint already. It stopped reading it, really wish they would have gone with a more high-tech face unlock.

I saw on a youtube video (not sure which one) that there is a setting for face unlock to bypass the lock screen so you don't need the swipe action. I haven't received the device yet, so I can't tell you where the setting is.

There's a setting in the face unlock options that says something like "Skip screen lock" that needs to be checked to go straight to the home screen.

Can confirm this works fine and face unlock seems fairly stable. If you dont use that option you still need to put finger to screen which kind of defeats the object .....
