[Q] About firmware releases - Samsung Galaxy SL i9003

Does anybody know why same origin firmwares have major differences?
As an example no one likes Russian value pack but, everybody says Indian value pack is perfect. What are the differences and why are they different? How Sammy decides realeasing a firmware? Why release dates are different for each country?

ColorOS for Oneplus

I am hoping the Chinese version of the ColorOS is ported to the US or ported for English countries as well for other languages too because I am sure other people around the world want to see ColorOS other than me.
"i want coloros" - no one 2014
i assume that coloros will be published for oneplus one since it will ship with coloros in china.

We don't want to see color OS. We do want to see CM. Color OS is for the Chinese market only.
Sorry dude, I am not in Chinese market, and I say we do want ColorOS, I for one of many don't care to much for CM, I am sure someone will port it since it already installed on the Chinese version, if it's like Oppo Chinese version will be flashable and more than likely English compatible as well.

NotePro 12.2 4.4 -> 5 ? But which 5 & which method ?

4.4 -> 5
Hi,
Just a question regarding those who have updated their Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 Tablets from 4.4 Kitkat to Lollipop
Out of all who have updated to either 5.02 be it the recommended Korean version or the .NL (An EU version) or even the more recent people who have appeared to have upgraded via flashing to 5.1.1 from an SD card .Zip file...
Has anyone any thoughts on out of all the possible upgrading options / routes I could use / go which they think is the best for a UK based user who only really requires that his Samsung S Keyboard + S mouse both work & that my Bluetooth will work fine too with say Apple device's too etc...
Out of all the current available ways of upgrading my Note Pro 12.2 from 4.4 to Lollipop which would be the more recommended option bearing in mind I don't care about running any modified Roms or doing much Modding if I could avoid needing to do so & that I'm just basically sick of waiting for the .UK Vers of Samsung to offer me an official normal WiFi update like it's clear they should have been offering about a year ago ?
Seeing all the countries that have already been offered the update but still no UK 1 isn't really making me a big fan right now of Samsung & the way they operate when it comes to updates TBH & it saddens me greatly !
So as it looks like the UK won't be getting offered a straightforward Lollipop update like the rest of the world = Which method from those I've mentioned above would be the best option for me ?
Any & all suggestions appreciated greatly & I do apologise for asking such a N00b'sh question it's just that I haven't flashed/ molded a device in ages & would like the best advice possible from the best users possible Hence I thought of XDA
So can anyone or a few experienced note Pro 12 users/ modders suggest my best course of upgrade decision/ choice/ method ?
Cheers
If you have P905, definitely THIS with whatever version?
Hi,
Sorry I should have made this clear ;
It's the basic P900 with only Wi-Fi & it was imported from the Philippines to use in the UK here with me & my UK S Samsung Keyboard + S Mouse
Thank you for the reply but I honestly don't need a Modified ROM if I can avoid it.
I was just wondering out of the options/ choices I had mentioned above what gets the most/ biggest Thumbs up from any guys who have upgraded their P900's
Cheers
Bump Bump...
Any1 Any Advice since I hear that there will be no official UK lollipop getting released by Samsung . ?
Cheers.

hello,
these roms are not customized, these are original from Huawei.
as I know root is still not possible on HW2.
the purpose to have these roms here is to help owners of chinese watches to change into international (global) rom so that everyone can have all languages and not only chinese.
of course international roms are equipped with google stuff, chinese one no.
regards
thanks for the heads up, i ordered my watch and it would appear it is coming from hong kong. i am hoping that it is international version and not chinese as it is from a uk web site

question about hardware variants

Can anybody take time and explain to me which hardware variants there are, and how to tell if Mi Mix 3 is China, EU or Global hardware version? I really did my homework and googled, but I didn't find a clear answer.
Thanks in advance.

There is Global Mix 3 & Chinese Mix 3, the EU version you mention isn't a variant of the device it's a ROM that you can flash on to your device, the hardware differences are exactly the same other than the Mix 3 Global & Chinese supporting different bands for networks, the main differences between the 2 are software.

Chinese version, bloatware, google apps, rootable?

So I'm in China where the Chinese model is about to come out, and I wanna get it, except I'm concerned that I would be unable to use google software (namely google play, maps, email, and syncing contacts). I recall some Chinese phones won't allow google services to be installed, rendering all those things useless, even with a VPN. Anyone know if the Chinese version can support the installation of google apps?
Likewise, I read in one of the threads here that the CN version might be rootable. Is there any way to confirm this, or has it been confirmed?
And finally, does it have a ton of Chinese apps pre-installed and somewhat burnt into the OS, so they can't be uninstalled?
I know some people already have it, as there are a lot of reviews of it online, but none of them address those questions. Any help? Thanks!
Chinese version will not have locked bootloader, it will be rootable. On the other hand, you are going to void your warranty for unlocking bootloader.
For Google play services, it's all included in Chinese variant. You don't need to worry about it.
Finally for the Chinese bloatwares, I believe you can uninstall them due to some Chinese regulations... If not, I believe you can flash HK rom on it to get rid of Chinese only features.
great

Wow for sure? Out of curiosity, do you have this phone already? I believe ya and all, just curious how you can know for sure. I'm just kinda shocked to think that the Chinese version of the phone would ALREADY include google services - I can't think of any phone I've ever had all these years (I've lived in China for about 20 years) that included google services. That's amazing. Thanks a ton!

Okay. Due to Chinese regulation, phone manufacturers are not allowed to put carrier lock on phones in China. Therefore, Samsung has never locked BL on Chinese and HK variant. Also, Samsung has Google services baked into all Chinese firmwares, you only need to install Google Play manually to use it. You can check how they are using Google Play on Chinese Galaxy S20 series. As I said, the last thing you can do is to flash HK firmware on your phone as they have exactly the same hardware, it comes with everything without Chinese specific features.

You're my hero mate. I know that's a bit overkill, but just excited at the good news, as I already pre-ordered. Might I add a follow up question? What kind of "Chinese specific features" might there be? Apps like WeChat, AliPay, Didi, DouYin, KuaiShou, TouTiao, Youku, WeiBo, BiliBili, etc, are these not also popular in HK? If ya don't know, no worries, you've still made me a happy camper, and thanks again~

Bt the time I used samsung last time (galaxy s8), Chinese rom has those extra features that helps you to manage start up items, or background items. Oh also you can only use samsung pay in China with chinese rom. Hk people won't use chinese social medias cuz they have twitter, facebook, whatsapp...

In that case, I would definitely prefer the HK version. Can't stand Chinese social media, nor do I use samsung pay - come to think of it, i've NEVER seen that in China mainland. I'll prolly switch to HK version once it's out - and safe to do so. Again, thanks a bunch!
