Ship to store only apparently.
Would it kill them to get a few into the stores by the launch date? Best buy takes forever getting products lately. I may go down to my local best buy anyway and see if they really have any in store yet.

Digital Man, I had mine shipped to my work address. I didn't have any problems with shipping.

35$ sales tax = ttyl . amazon sold it to me with shipping exactly 499$ not a cent more

Like das0527, I was able to request mine shipped.
Unfortunately for me, instead of my normal work location in Delaware (no sales tax), I'm on a work trip until early August so I had it shipped to me in Arizona (sales tax). $42.60 for getting it now with earning RewardZone points, why does everything always cost more during a work trip?
Order status is still "Order in process of being fulfilled; Usually ships in 0 - 1 days.". Will complain here if it doesn't ship tomorrow.

I got a shipping confirmation this morning, it should be here Thursday/Friday.

Oh, I didn't mean that it wasn't available for shipping. When you check to see if there is in-store stock, it says "ship to store". In other words there aren't any on the shelves.
Just meant that if they are available to ship to people and to the stores, just seems like they could bother to put a few on the shelves already.
The 32gb tf300 was available for weeks at microcenter before they ever got around to having them in-store at Best Buy.
I'll probably have one shipped - no problem - but I'm hoping they at least have one on display - I would at least like to see the new display before purchase. I'm curious to see how it compares to the Acer a700 before I commit to one or the other.
You see - thats the point of being a brick and mortar store - its the big advantage that they have over Amazon and a zillion other online retailers - at Best Buy you can actually walk in see stuff and actually go home with it. Best buy seems to forget this. If they don't have in store inventory, then they lose their advantage, and early adopters will all have pre-orders with Amazon.

And if I knew Amazon had some in stock, I would have ordered from there. When I looked at them, they didn't have any. Best Buy sucks because they don't keep anything new stocked lol. You're completely right.
But I did finally get to track my tablet. It's expected to be here Friday. It's completely possible it could get here Thursday, but I expected Friday.

Ordered mine at 8am will me thursday. Baught prime dock tonight in the store.

Why shouldn't they be on the shelves? If they can arrive at your house, then they can arrive at a Best Buy store. Its business. If you're in it to win, then you make it happen.
Otherwise you become Comp USA or Circuit City or Blockbuster or Borders Books or Eastman Kodak or Fudruckers or General Motors or Friendly's or KB toys or Fortunoff or Filene's Basement or Kmart or 6th Avenue Electronics or ........Best Buy.......

Because they're not at your house, they were shipped to you the same day(or day later) than they shipped to the stores. Add to that that they dont ship one product to the stores they ship everything that needs to go out once or twice a week.
Honestly impatience isn't what hurts B&Ms, most people dont track releases and need items 10 minutes after they roll off the assembly line, the reason B&Ms are going out of business is the overhead of shipping and maintaining the stores themselves. as stated it's a shame because for some things it's preferable to have a place to try things out before you buy or quickly return or exchange items, but it's likely within 10 years that will no longer be the case due to the overhead that internet sites do not need to incur. However for good or bad within a couple years all internet sites will be required to collect sales tax, amazon i believe will start next year. That should help B&Ms to an extent.

Have you been reading this forum lately? 8 topics on the first page alone right now are soley devoted to tracking the release of this thing.
You're not the former CEO of Circuit City are you....sorry just kidding....couldn't resist.....
Oh and those lines for the iPud...thing from that fruit company....sleeping outside of stores waiting for them to open....yup people would never want something the moment it's released.....
Though of course you're right about overhead...thats the biggest killer of the B&M store...all the more reason that places like Best Buy have to work harder. Use their asset of a physical presence....or accept the inevitable now and become internet only....

I was being quite obsessive the last few days so I kept checking BB's website, then I finally saw yesterday that they posted the 32gb TF700 with "Available Soon." Checked back right at midnight and saw that you can order it for in-store pickup so today I took my TF300T back and exchanged it for the TF700. I lucked out and had a couple of days left before my 60-day return policy expired. I was scared they were gonna give me a hard time but they exchanged it, no questions asked.

The Turkey Day / Black Friday returns are starting

Seven of them in SEARS today - looks like Black Friday returns are starting to come in.
What is the link for refurbs?
60,000 units times perhaps 70% returns = about $4.2 million cost for refurb sale and handling costs (minimum).
Not seeing how this ends well.... Perhaps people will learn not to release a product not ready and then release a very half-hearted update, while a few people that are not even paid make it a near great product.
I wonder if Viewsonic has accrued for this hit to their P&L in 2011? Viewsonic is nuts if they think Kmart / Sears, Office Depot and Staples will eat these costs.
All they have to do is get rid of Tap, add the Nvidia drivers, Flash and do something about the disaster of an app market portal. That last one is the hardest, but the others can be done NOW- not 12/19, which will probably be another half-hearted effort.
The sales and operations planning meeting for February will be very interesting at Viewsonic

My guess is Viewsonic may see a bunch of returns by retailers before sold to customers, but I did not expect the device to be pushed during BF, either.
Logic sometimes has no meaning.

I guess I'll be taking a ride to freehold and paramus! LOL!
WOW! The one from Paramus was gone when I clicked on the link. I just bought the one from Freehold.
Half of them are already gone.
Is there a way you can reserve these before driving to the store and purchasing it? I'd hate to purchase it, drive to the store, and it's gone..
Buy it online, the store confirms the unit is there, then they charge your card. You get an email that says it's available for pick-up. and you drive to get it. If its already gone, you don't get charged.

The online site doesn't give me an option to buy it, just print out a page w/ a tracking number and goto the store. I called the store and the manager and sales associate seemed kind of clueless about sears outlet, and said they didn't have any in stock..?
EDIT: I see now that you have to "Add to Cart" to reserve the item and order it online. Here's hoping I got it!
just tried to buy the one from marlborough, MA and I ordered it at 9:30 AM and the store does not open till 10 am. I still got an out of stock email T.T
I am willing to pay someone if they can get one for me. There are none in my area.
Well, I placed an order online and went to the store for pickup (fairfax, va), and on my way there I got a call that the product was defective and being sent back to viewsonic. Seeing as how I was almost there, I just went to the store. Spoke with the manager and got the same schpeel. "The customer returned it for an issue with wifi."
So, one has to wonder why it was up for sale if there was a problem with the wifi, and how they magically knew there was a problem after me calling and inquiring about it. It would appear that perhaps someone else wanted the tablet who works there, but who knows. Perhaps I should have just taken it and tested out the wifi on my own but I opted not to.. Moral of the story, don't call the store.

As of 1:30 pm Eastern, they are all gone except the lonely one in upstate NY that has been there for a couple of weeks. Its amazing to me how these units sold out so fast. I still need another so I check the website a couple of times a day.
Yes, they are all gone. I was able to buy one, but i had to drive 180 mile one way, so I choose not to do it.

Hey guys! Do what I did: Went to my local Sears in NC, talked to the store manager, purchased a gift card on the spot for $311 ($279 plus UPS shipping). He called the store manager in Michigan. Had the G tablet sent my house, it arrived 2 days before my birthday. The stores can accept your Sears can send ID on back of the card to the store in question and hopefully ship your device. Also sign up for the Sears loyalty card while your at it; picked up $10 bucks in Sears points on the spot!

SEARS Outlet FAQ (with link)

Outlet Link: http://www.searsoutlet.com/d/invent...mode=buyUsedOnly&to=cart&pn=1&ps=10&disp=sel#
My device is an Outlet item, so I have some experience with this.
General Information
SEARS Outlet is (generally) updated every morning, and they are selling "refurbished" GTablets for $279. Unless you can convince your local SEARS rep to make an exception, you need to pick the device up at the location it is located in.
If you purchase it, you would do that online and, usually within an hour or two, you'll get an email saying the device is ready for pick up. You'd then head over to their Merchandise Pick-Up section, with email printout in hand, to pick it up at the location you bought it at.
Are these Refurbs?
NO, they are not. And I don't know why they say they are. These are customer returns that they just re-sell. It doesn't go back to Viewsonic, and it doesn't get "cleaned up" in any way.
Case in point, my purchase: The previous owner rooted it and had Launcher Pro on it, and the screen was loaded with fingerprints. All SEARS did was slap a "Closeout" sticker on it and re-sold it. But it was in good shape, overall.
Do I Get a the same Warranty?
Not 100% sure, but read this (and keep the link handy):
http://www.searsoutlet.com/s/legal/FAQ.htm#NewReconditionedDifference
This claims that "New product warranty still applies". So, if you ever have a problem, you can use this to fight SEARS with if they tell you there's no warranty.
Bottom Line: Should I buy one?
I personally think it's a good buy, if you manage to snag one that hasn't been dropped on the floor. I suspect that a lot of these are going back fairly quickly so the amount of damage that a person can do is small. But, be aware that things like FC's and other issues might be the reason why it was returned. I would recommend having our firmware ready, possibly clockworkmod or, best of all, nvflash to clean the device up.
I wish I could get one but they are all in other states... HAHA i should have a friend buy one and return it at the store by me
Several days ago, they were displaying properly on the sears site, I was about to order, but I decided I would wait until later. So the next day this link comes up to:
"An error occurred while processing your request.
We apologize for the inconvenience and will work to correct the problem. "
Does this mean they are out at the moment and I need to keep checking back? I am interested in purchasing one for the $279 price for sure.

I believe so. I would check the link every morning. They usually go very fast (Seriously, like within 30-60 minutes of when they post the updated locations).
If you're in the West Coast, check REALLY early. I usually start checking around 9 or 10AM ET.
And if you're really lucky and catch it at the right time, they'll pay you 92 quadrillion dollars.

Sweet! Who couldn't use a few quadrillion every now and then?
Thanks a lot for the information. I am on the East Coast, I am normally up at like 6ish to head to class, so I will check through out the morning on most mornings.
I am also trying to get an Archos 70, but I think the G-Tablet can be a long term solution with the custom roms, etc. (As long term as a tablet at this stage of the game can be, anyway.)

Don't take the cash! Such liquidity in our macro economic infrastructure would create 10,000% inflation! :O
Man, where are all the refurbs going? I expected to see a TON of them after thanksgiving.
I agree, I figured there would be a pile of outlet deals going on.
I was at my local Sears today snooping around, hoping to luck up on a "in-store" Outlet deal. When I mentioned the Outlet $279 deal, the sales guy became a complete jerk. He said, "If you are talking about the Outlet price, then don't even talk to me." He said it very loud, almost like a yell. I was stunned a little before my admittedly short temper acted up and I flew off the handle. I had picked out a pretty nice camera I was for sure going to purchase, but changed my mind after that.
I did make it to Staples to play around their demo model. Internet was extremely snappy, but, my God, other than that the thing is like a $99 Kmart Tab when it comes to navigation being laggy etc. I didn't have an issue with the screen though, like many people have said was an issue for them.

I saw that before and was sorely tempted to place an order and then demand my gTab and $92Q...
Some thrifty person in Scranton, PA can pick up a floor model (I'm surprised about that) G-Tab that just popped up on the radar for $149.93...
Every once in a while, I wish I lived further east
just seen that... 2+ hr. drive for me.....is it worth it to return the $280 g-tab and take a 4 hr drive?
Unfortunately, it might not actually be there. I just found out that even if it is listed on the outlet site, it might not really be in the store. I ordered the one from Landover, MD this morning, and then called when the store opened to get someone to put it aside so I could pick it up. First the electronics department told me they don't even carry that device new, then the merchandise pickup department told me that they don't have any refurbished devices, and for that matter that they wouldn't have it anyway. "Those types of things get shipped back to the manufacturer for a refund."
Oh well, so close...
Hopefully another one will come close to VA.

Buy it online with "add to cart," and then go pick it up after you paid for it. Don't call. I had the same problem, and mentioned it in another thread. Sears outlet and sears stores have ZERO affiliation, and are not aware of each other, so calling the store does absolutely nothing. I'm in VA too, so we may be fighting over one. Not sure if I'm going to bother though.

LOL! I'll break out the boxing gloves... I did do the add to cart, and went through the whole process of inputting my credit card and everything. Once I finished that I figured I'd better call to make sure they put it aside so no one walked in and grabbed it before I could get there. That's when they said they don't even have em new. A little while later I got the email reply to my order, confirming that they didn't have it in stock. I am starting to wonder if an employee snapped it up quick this morning. Either that or their system is jacked.

When you buy online, it removes it from the online inventory. So, calling is redundant, as the one that's available is reserved for you (assuming you get the confirmation email that it's in stock). I did the same thing you did in a sense and just called ahead (didn't know you could even buy it online and reserve it initially, but 15mins later bought it online, and got a confirmation that it was in stock), and when I got there the manager said the wifi was damaged on it and they were going to send it back. Of course, strange that this problem wasn't caught till I called and asked the store about it.. An employee likely wanted it, and I nicely called to notify them of the great deal. So, do yourself a favor (and anyone else looking to get one), and don't call.
Showing one for $149 in Scranton, PA.
2 1/2 hour drive for me, and it's a toll road. I did consider it, for that price.
Would have made a great dev device, assuming its all scratched up / floor model.
Btw, my understanding is that the Outlet stores and the SEARS stores are the same thing (at least it was i my case). These are the "clearance" and "closeout" items you see in the bins in the Electronics section. In my case, I picked up my Outlet device in the Merchandise Pickup at a local NJ SEARS, in a mall.

Yes, they're the same physical stores. To clarify my post, I meant to say physically they're the same, but the outlet and regular sears sites and internal inventory/etc. seem entirely separated to a degree. If you call a store asking about an outlet product, they are completely clueless about it, and have no way of knowing without calling the "outlet" department, which is what the manager told me when I called (wherever that is, maybe an 800 number for them?). At least it seem to be this way to me.
The wise thing to do is not call if you ask me. You're essentially notifying everyone of its availability (and cheap price), and you'd be naive to think that employees wouldn't have any qualms snatching it up even if you already placed the order. The employee and manager I spoke to when I called inquiring about the unit seemed VERY interested in it when I mentioned the price, and not in a "oh I'd love to help you with that" sort of way..

Not sure if I should jump on this or not...I'd like to just walk into a store and pick one up personally. Much easier than waiting for shipping, especially since I'm not at home right now

That's what I"m doing, although mainly since I want to see a display model before I buy. I need to see the colors in person before I could decide, and while I'm at it I want to see if the IO performance makes web browsing as poor as some say it does.
Nevermind guys, the tax is at $40, total ripoff.

The couple issue with Office Depot (at least for me)
1. Tax - Amazon has no tax unless you live in Washington State, so that's almost $30-40 discount depending on which state you live in.
2. Return Policy - Though I definitely intend to keep this great tablet once I get one, the IO issue more of ANR issue can turn me a way. Office Depot's return policy is once you open item you can only exchange for the same item. Whereas, Best Buy I believe has no ask 30 days return policy, and never tried but amazon I heard has the same even item is opened.
I am not saying the office depot is bad. If one is for 100% keep the item, and get as earliest, not a bad idea.

I can wait...I have a phone that was half-baked from the beginning already. I'm stuck with it. I love it, but I really would've enjoyed having a Nexus instead (Motorola's software updates are awful. Then again, what non-nexus phone has good updates?). With this tablet...I would rather pick it up in store because I can return it in store without shipping it back. I don't plan on returning it, but I don't want to buy it and end up not being able to fix the issues. And I'm going to be moving around a lot until September...I'm trying to fit in a lot of stuff in my last few weeks of vacation before heading off to school (which is what I'm buying this tablet for anyways...)
On that note though...I went to Best Buy today to grab a cooling pad for my laptop (which, btw is helping a lot, keeps my computer a nice 5-10 degrees cooler. And my vacation so far is pretty boring, so I need plenty of games to keep me entertained ). While I was there though...I took another look at the Prime. I didn't notice any of the picky crap that everyone was freaking out about (this is the same thing I found when buying my phone, the problems everyone were having didn't affect me, and still don't). The Prime isn't a perfect example of how the Infinity is going to be, but it's similar. The screen is awesome (which means the Infinity will be even more awesome). I started downloading a big file via wifi onto it and continues browsing and it worked fine (well, past the fact that Best Buy's wifi was slow as hell). I just couldn't make the thing stutter. I have no idea what you guys are doing...but I couldn't make it hiccup at all. I need more time with one to do it, but I just can't find anything wrong with it. So at this point...I think the Infinity will be a great device if it's anything like the Prime.
Was about to pounce on this! The free gas card code works (Thank you!), so that erased half of the $30 taxes (6% in FL) it was going to charge. Includes free shipping, so why did I not order it online with a Wednesday delivery?
Office Depot return policy! See below : (and this is with a receipt)
>>Technology and consumer electronic products may only be exchanged or returned with their Original Receipt and in their original, unopened packaging with UPC code within 14 days of purchase. If box is opened, only an exchange will be offered. A 15% Restocking Fee will be applied if any components are missing. Opened software may be exchanged for the same item only. Please remember to remove all personal data from exchanged/returned products. Office Depot is not responsible for any personal data left in or on an exchanged/returned product.
Furniture, may only be exchanged or returned with Original Receipt and in new condition, unassembled, in original packaging with UPC code within 14 days of purchase.<<
Unopened??? 14 days??? So, you can buy it, display the unopened box on a counter or shelf for 13 days, and then return it for a refund. Thanks Office Depot!!
When I see the return policies you guys have in the us I really appreciate living in Norway. By law we have three years warranties for defects, and 2 weeks open buy for anything you order online.

Not entirely correct. Warranty is up to each manufacturer but we do have 2 or 5 year "sales claim", depending on the expected lifetime of the item. Most electronic devices get 5 years. But yeah, we're well covered as a consumer in Norway. Which is also reflected in the prices

Adorama hit me with a $40 tax that wasnt on the online checkout form. I saw it when they sent me a receipt. Free 2 day shipping which is alright. Atleast I have one on order
Broke down and order one from Office Depot. Suppose to arrive on Wednesday. I swore I would never buy another Asus product after all the problems that I had with this. That said, I'm so attached to the stinking dock that I am willing to give them one more shot. Here's hoping!

I stand corrected. ;-)
I just placed my order for my TF700T from the big OD, with a delivery date of Wed, July 18th, and it came with free next business day delivery (we're in their delivery area), so I might even see it Monday or Tuesday. I did have to pay tax, but the free shipping offset that.

Got this email reply today when I asked about in store supply for san Francisco and Hawaii, but it sounds like general stock level reply.
"The given item #803662 can be purchased through online only and it can not be available on the stores. However, this item is temporarily out of stock from our product line. I apologize, I am unable to provide the exact information on the availability of this item. Please contact us after 7-14 business days to check the availability."

Any places you find can be added to my master list, I'll add a Canadian section.
It's available a TigerDirect.ca but it's a ripoff, the tablet is on sale for 574 and the dock 172, so in total a good 100$ extra than the regular price. The catch is, they list it as shipping in 3-5 days, i bought one, and after chatting with a agent, he said everything is backordered until at least june 25th. So basically, it's a smart way to try and make an extra 100$ off having the "exclusivity" of the first ones to sell it in canada

Yeah, I mentioned this in the OP. I was tempted to do it anyway but no champagne...
Hopefully amazon will have them soon!
sorry, didn't read all op. but amazon aren't too fast to move their stock up north, my money would be on ncix since they already have their template page up but inactive for a few days: http://source.ncix.com/asus-tf700t-transformer-pad/
EDIT: Ok so this morning it was just a page with no way to click the buy button but i can now see that the buy button redirects you to the actual product. The only things is that the actual TF700T is not on their website if you search for it, only if you use the link i have. In any case, the price is 499 so i just put in my order and i'll be patiently waiting until the probably stock fill day of july 25th

Despite all the reported issues with the A700, fine with me so far, but I would like to give the TF700T a spin...so tempting to preorder this from NCIX and see if it ships in time for my trip.

Tigerdirect.ca shippment notice - on it's way?
Hi, ordered a TF700t from Tigerdirect Tuesday morning. I received my shipping notice Wednesday morning. I should have the table by Friday (or Monday). But.... I've also seen when shipping notices are created but they aren't actually shipped until later. Not sure if this is happening here.

same thing happened to me, except i ordered monday night. then i called in on tuesday and asking them if the item was in stock and they said that even though my order was marked as shipped, it is back ordered until the 25th. But I will only half apologize to Tigerdirect because it still is $90.00 more than B&H.
So a small hurray for Tigerdirect.

hmm NCIX or Tiger Direct, I'm willing to pay more but if it's going to be delayed anyway I'll just use NCIX....or maybe just wait til memory express starts selling it, but it could be 3 weeks from now...decisions decisions...

This could be a blessing in disguise...at least for me...latest from samsung note 10.1 spec is really looking good, 1.4 quad core, 2 gb ram, s pen, 5mp / 2mp cameras, ir universal remote control, sms capability thru the phone (probably thru blue tooth like the smart watches....only missing is the hd screen..
My infinity arrived
Hi all,
Infinity arrived from Tigerdirect Monday July 23. All is good . Need to find a case, etc.

Question S22U Back ordered

For the first time ever I ordered a Sammy device directly from Samsung instead of going through my carrier. Looking at the dates on the website, the white version looked like it was ready to ship but for some reason when I tried to order it I was told it couldn't deliver my location but the other colors were fine?
Anyway, went with Phantom Black, 256GB. Mother's Day sale. Said delivery by May 31st. In your experience, those of you that have bought directly from Samsung, what are the chances that this 31st date is reliable? Or if you think it'll ship before then? I don't know what the current state of their production is. Carriers have stock but their trade-in values suck.
I'm also wondering the chances that this date (that's estimated of course) will be pushed back? I keep checking the website like I'm shopping for a new phone and their ship dates keep going back since last week I checked.
More dumb questions. I never bought directly from Samsung before so do they ship in directly from the factory or they have stock inside the US they tap from? I'm assuming they're out of any stock they have inside this country since they're back ordered. So does that mean my phone's coming directly from overseas to me or are they like waiting to build up stock in a warehouse somewhere here then start to distribute?
Whatcha reckon?
Some of those "warehouse" question...call Samsung and ask. And even the dates for delivery can change..again call and ask. Not being a jerk but some of those questions are for Samsung.
Hello,
I bought S22ultra with financing.
as soon as they received the approval of the financial institution (less than a week) they sent it immediately and in 24 hours it arrived at my house.
Dimenticavo: sito Samsung Italia.
I took one of the available colors so as not to waste time, so I will put the case on top

Sure but I just wanted to try and tap into other people's experiences with this and since that's free I figured what the heck. Right?
Well I ordered black 256GB February 10th, it didn't arrive until March 15th.
Fingers crossed it arrives as per order date. In my case it took 7 instead of 4 weeks to arrive. But that was in UK and for a custom colour

I've been purchasing my phones, tablets, accessories etc directly from Samsung for about 8 years. Typically when they post a ship date you will actually receive the item by that date. My S22u was actually the first item Samsung pushed back a ship date but that was due to an overall shortage of S22u due to high demand.
I can also attest that Samsung has multiple warehouses in the US. The Samsung warehouse in Coppell, TX which is about 15 miles from where I live shipped my S22u, S-view cover and T7 portable SSD.
aaaaaand I just got an email pushing the delivery date to June 6
FWIW, I purchased my S20U, S21U, and now S22U all direct from Samsung (because of the great trade-in deals). I don't remember the first two beind delayed. The S22U I ordered on 5/1 with an expected delivery of 5/10 (I did not spring for expedited delivery). After several days I received an update that it had been pushed back to 5/24. It just arrived yesterday, so several days earlier than their pushed back date. It shipped out of Coppell, TX via FedEx.
Haven't been on here in ages, but was just coming to look at ROOT stuff for the S22 Ultra since I am being forced off my forever LG G8 phone I had.
As to the topic though, I JUST ordered a Phantom White S22 Ultra yesterday and it shipped same day already and is expected to be here in 3 days via FedEx. The ones I saw that appeared to be backordered were the Samsung Exclusive colors, but those don't look that good anyway so you do better to just get a regular color.

Yeah I got phantom black. Says it's in stock.
Thanks. I live in Texas too so I hope that happens to me too.
I called today after getting the email and they said they'd send a request to the fulfillment center to "prioritize" my order? I don't know if that's really what they did but they said expect a response within 48 hours.
I'm mostly anxious about getting this thing shipped ASAP because I don't want more time with this phone I'm using now for the trade just in case something happens to it. Ya know?

I am also in Texas so it's highly possible. I don't think many people order the 512GB and 1TB versions so that could be the reason mine shipped same day due to high stock availability. Sidenote, I actually loved my LG G8 and didn't want to change but the 5G crap being forced is the only reason. I'm still going to use it when I'm at home and only use my S22 Ultra when I need to be out with active service.
