Microsd card fit? - Asus Transformer TF700

For those that already have access to one, how does the microsd card fit? Does it stick out? I'd like to use a microsd card as a semi-permanent storage space and wonder if it is easy to eject it during normal usage. Thanks

Nope, the microSD card does NOT stick out. You won't have any jumpy fleas like it was on the Prime, don't worry. At least one of the Prime's issues has been solved throughly -- I haven't had the chance to test the GPS, will do that today )

Yes, but then how do you easily take it out?
I got mine last night, but in my SD card from my phone and then started to panic when I realised I couldn't take it out with my fingers. I had to use a blade to pry it out (which very slightly scratched the side,...which I am NOT happy about)

Umm....it's spring loaded socket. So, if you press it in, it will pop out...
Now, don't pry anything out of that slot...

Haha...thanks boys. I tried that but looks like I didn't press it in hard it enough for it to spring back out.

The first time I put the micro sd card in to the infinity I freaked out.... then tried using tweezers to take it out... After failing at that I realized it pushed in against the spring to pop out. Quite nicely fits in there.

Sensation - Back cover poor quality, tarnish

Hi folks,
I've had my Sensation for 3 days tops and something has happened to the back cover. It doesn't wipe off, have absolutely no idea what caused this.
Pretty poor considering it's two days old and treated with kid gloves, couldn't have looked after this phone more if I tried. Crazy.
My GS2 is still prestine, not a mark or scuff anywhere.

Nothing like that on either of my two back covers. I'd get it exchanged.

ffs... you had to send the entire phone back?
I've changed roms and allsorts already.
Yeah I'd ask HTC to supply you a new one, not acceptable really. Probably only a minor problem on a select new units because the build quality is usually top notch.
I've emailed HTC via the customer service channels on their site and attached a pic. See how it goes. Sending the entire phone back would be ridiculous. Cost them more in shipping, hassle and man hours.
I had a similar issue I think with my original cover. I had it less than 10 days, always on micro cloth etc. and I had a spot in the back cover. Of course everyone here will tell you it is something you are doing wrong but I handle my phones with the greatest care and always get top dollar for resale.
In the End HTC sent me a new cover and I have not had anymore problems so far, knock on wood..
T-Mobile have said I would need to replace the whole handset if I go through them. I hope HTC have a better answer, got it setup how I like, the battery is warmed up and broken in nicely too.

I think I have a broken transformer

The screen will not turn on at all. It makes sounds when I plug it in and the screen has a sort of backlight that come on, it connects to my computer, I was able to run nvflash but at no time did it show it was working on my asus screen and after it loaded it didn't restart with the prime rom. I'm not sure if anyone has suggestions outside of selling this for parts and accessories but any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
re-run nvflash maybe a bad flash

Issue is nothing even shows up on my asus screen while its running like in the video.
Just tried again.
The computer reads it but my screen is blank.
So you cant see the slightest trace of the backlight ?
If thats the case i recommend flashing stock rom and partitions etc etc and send it to asus thats there screw up not yours

Could it be something about the launcher?I had the problem once before after installing ADW Ex and the tablet didn't know which one to choose causing a black screen.
May be also in your case.

It is similar to this. Since I bought this on craigslist and have no receipt I fear my options are limited but willing to pay some money to have it fixed. Hopefully they have a good answer otherwise it might be sold for parts and the risk of someone else getting a cheap working transformer.
Fing the thread were someone opened theirs up and reattached the ribbon cable. They left very good pics of the process and i bet your screen will come back as its obviously booting
I agree with :thebadfrog:. I had this happen to mine just the other day. Opened it up, reattached the lose cable, and BOOM! works perfectly fine now.

Will give this a shot. Either way thank you both for your help.
I had it for a second and then I lost it. I can confirm the screen is not broken but something must be off from dropping it. It had the NVflash message in the top left screen. This was 10 minutes ago and I haven't it back but its a start.
That being said this might be too much for me and might have to sell it cheap on here for someone more tech savvy.
Will keep working and thanks for your help.
Anyone knows the xda rules to try and sell this? I'm sure someone can get it to work and would part with it for pretty cheap.
how much is pretty cheap? pm me with a number

[Q] Audio jack broken, how to fix?

Dear XDA developers,
Today I noticed my audio output jack of my asus transformer TF101 is broken.
The problem is that only one earbud receive's the sound. (the be specific the left earbud however this can change in how far you push the earphone jack inside. If you put it halfway the right earbud is working if you put the jack completly inside only the left earbud is working.)
And yes I tried about 10 different pair of headphones and they all gave me the same result. I also tested these headphone on my other devices and they worked great on these.
My question now is how to fix this? and how much would it cost me.
I also saw a gadget for the Ipad or iphone etc
http://www.sendstation.com/us/products/pocketdock/lineout-miniusb.html
is there something like a gadget like this for the asus eee pad? since this would just replace my 3.5mm output jack and I wouldn't have to open up my tablet.
There is an audio daughter card that you can replace. I had issues with my microSD card reader which is on the same daughter card so I was looking recently. Found replacements on eBay for about $20 used, $40 new.

You need to take the bezel and back cover off. I took my bezel off to fix a power button and light bleed issue and wrote a tutorial here:
http://www.transformerforums.com/fo.../10501-rs-guide-power-lock-button-issues.html
I did not talk about taking the back cover off, but there are 10-16 screws (#0 or #00 Philips) and then the back cover comes off. I think there are 2 on each side, and then 3 on top and 3 from the bottom between the screen and the back cover. Then you can get to the daughter board. It is on top and should come out by removing 3 more screws and disconnecting 3 cables. See photo below, board is outlined in red:

If I fixed it i will let you know

outlined in red ( phots not that great but you can see the mark that doesn't move regardless of whats on screen) - highly irritating now i know its there, my eyes are drawn to it. would this be a RMA job?
Yeah, its kind of tough when it's near the middle of the screen like that. It really depends on how much it bothers you. Mine just came in the mail an hour ago and after playing around a little, noticed 1 small dead pixel on bottom right of screen. It's kind of gray, not black. But I'm not really noticing it, I have to really look for it and even then it's hard to see. My phone is otherwise perfect - no vibration issues, power button is solid, etc. I think I'll just keep it.

I have a speck of something in almost exactly the same place. RMA won't be shipped until December 3. Hope the replacement doesn't have this issue.

its a dead pixel, mate
Its dead pixels. I had two of this massive dead pixels on my iphone 5 and the apple genius guys replaced it with a new one.
You should definately RMA it and get it replaced. I was planning to buy a nexus 5 myself but have been getting negative feedback on the speaker quality and the dead pixels issue hence I think I will either wait for the LG G2 Mini or something else.

For Everyone who phone dos not open (not turn on)here is solution

hi to all.i had this problem and all(even LG)said to me that i must buy new motherboard.......(assholes)so... lets go
1).remove all screws .
2).remove the cover.
3).carefully remove cables and take off the motherboard
4).carfully remove the iron off the motherboard(sorry for my English)

5).take a hairdryer in hot air and let it for 1 minute or two not very closer one in front one from rear
6).take all parts in place and you are ready to go.
P.S let it litle time to charge so the battery take some electricity .thats all

Can anyone confirm this actually works? Your saying to heat up the motherboard with a hair dryer and it fixes the phone? Is this a joke [emoji23]?

Technically it could work. Search "BGA Reballing" in Google. People has been baking desktop GPUs, laptop motherboards and mobile phone motherboards to re-ball the lead soldering balls that make contact between the mobo and chip. But I'm quite skeptical about hair-dryer. The heat might not be enough. Industrial heat-guns surely work.
It tries to do the same thing as the oven technique (which I tested and it works temporarily, for a couple of weeks, long enough to backup what you need) but it isn't as effective since the conventional home hair drier can't heat up the MB that high.
