Music player that actually shuffles... - myTouch 4G General

I've tried to many different apps to play my music, and they all seem to have the worst "shuffle" function in the world. Anyone recommend one that won't play the same songs every 15 minutes? With 16gb of music, I'd expect to hear a lot more songs than I usually do.

I use mixzing. It shuffles perfectly fine.

I use PlayerPro is the best shuffle works great

I use an iPod shuffle ;p

An iPod what?

Power amp

+1 to poweramp

Fyi... PlayerPro seems to works great so far..

I second iPod Shuffle!!

Well with the new update to google music, it actually creates a playlist like the shuffle does, and won't repeat until it's done. Plus, you can see the actual playlist of upcoming songs.

best mp3 program ?

Just wondering what the best mp3 and flac player for android is. Preferably free.
PowerAmp hands down. Plays mp3 and flac better than freaking VLC/Audacity (maybe) on the computer.

Best Mp3
1. Double-twist will allow you to upload and sync with you android phone/tablet and is a great music manger/player with a great ui and look
2. Winamp is great and one of best in that it is extremely easy to understand and use, just dump the music files in a folder on your sd card and it will find them.
there are tons of music apps out there try them and see what works for you!!!!

I agree with frub3nz, it's by far the best, even better than WinAMP. Only two bad things about it, it is a little quieter compared to WinAMP, and it only lasts 15 days as a trial version. Other than that though it's awesome.
Poweramp. It's worth it

Poweramp! It plays FLAC!! Can't go wrong.
is there any other mp3 players other than poweramp that show lyrics?

MIUI music player!
power amp cost me the best 3euros i've ever spent, it's just a fantastic player.
I really like PlayerPro. It has a much cleaner UI with the same features as PowerAmp, including the equalizer, lyrics, album art, etc. and it's only 5 bucks.

Another vote for PowerAMP. If you take the time to set up the equalizer and pre-amp correctly, you won't believe the sound quality. Worth spending money on.
Nothing can touch Poweramp. Best on android.

I've been using Songbird... its not the greatest, but the scrubber works while WinAmps doesn't. If you want something that just plays music, it works. Next week I may be using another music app though, I go through them often. Haha
I've yet to find any music app that matches iOS though, sadly. Android really lacks in audiobook and podcast support.
I don't need any of the other bulks apps give, like sync. I've put all of that on Amazon now, so why do I need a sync program anymore?

PowerAmp by a mile IMHO and it's excellent through Bluetooth stereo.
Another Vote for Poweramp...hands down the best music app for android
I've been using instinctiv, simple ui, detects music on sd card and fast.

Mortplayer is excellent and allows to play folders (nice for those who hate tags and arrange their albums in folders). It also displays lyrics through an add-on.
It is free and it is an excellent application. (I had it since windows mobile!)
Will miui music app work on oxygen rom on htc desire ?
poweramp....duh?
like many others my upvote is for poweramp just bought it today really is the best
I like PlayerPro... has a lot of functionality including an excellent EQ and personally I prefer the look and feel of it compared to poweramp..

I have tried them all well not exactly but most the ones people recommend, none the less I had problems with the stock one doing the same thing. Sometimes it would play a song then sometimes it would just be silent, any way I tried the playerpro trial version same as full version just only last 5 days. any way it and dsp pack for it has proved to be the best so far plays anything, and had allot of sound adjustment. No I don't work for them lol just my 2 cents

PowerAmp continues to be my favorite. Though it seems like there's a bug related to scanning each time the app is launched that was causing me some issue. Disabled that option and everythings good.
I use playerpro, like the features, get missing album covers, no issues. The widget is awesome, try it, it is free. The app is well supported.

I have this exact problem. It isn't quite clipping but whenever there is a crescendo it only ramps up partway and then gets mushy as though there is a normalizer running. The consistency with which it does this has me thinking as though each frame in the MP3 is being decoded at a different level!

best music player??

what do you guys think? i personally use poweramp, but i'm interested to see what you guy like!

I use Poweramp Full version & MX Player Pro as my media players...
I played with poweramp for about an hour before I bought the full version. Works for me, haven't found too much to gripe about thus far.
I use Winamp PRO, because it quickly, easily syncs all my music from my computer while I sleep via Wifi. And since I don't use MP3's, my FLAC files sound fantastic. With the equalizer, dark theme, and no problems, it is by far my favorite music player.

Double Twist is by far my favorite. So many awesome options
I am a Playerpro user all the way.....Poweramp is not bad, but its UI is a bit cumbersome. I take my players seriously, and have tried many. While driving, Poweramp becomes an accident waiting to happen if your trying to find a specific song or album coming from the actual player screen. Playerpro is much easier to navigate, much better UI and its options/features are comparable to Poweramp. Both have great album art support, and both are equal in sound quality (I have Martin Logan Sequal II electrostatic speakers that I have thoroughly tested both on). You also may notice that I am only mentioning these 2 players.................no reason to mention anymore!
aight cool lol i might try out all these man lol
I use google play music since its most convenient. Just wish i could play it via another player because its a very basic player.
Really wish i had the beats audio from my evo lte tho shii soumds gooooood
we don't see things as they are; we see things as we are.

Sound lag

So I'm running dirty unicorns with the bub a kernel, and I have experienced this on other cm10.1 ROMs, I'm just wondering if anyone else notices this, but when im playing music and tap on apps or the app launcher my music stops for a quick second and returns. Very annoying for those who listen to music while doing other stuff

Yeah, CyanogenMod 10.1 is buggy as hell, but 10 was much much worse for heavy music listeners. It started playing itself, repeating songs when you skip a track, and often refused to play songs. So don't go backwards, you'll be far worse off.

Use a player like PlayerPro + DSP Pack or Poweramp. They have their own audio decoding libraries, so they don't use the inbuilt Android audio decoder. As a result you experience no issues when playing music. I use PlayerPro & DSP Pack which also seems to use less battery than the inbuilt decoder even with LPA mode.
I always used Google Play Music when I had cyanogenmod. Apollo is a pile of ****e. Google Play Music made it slightly betterm but neither of them have anything on HTC's music player, that is the best by far.

Yeah f**k Apollo, check out PlayerPro, there's a 14 day trial. Make sure you get the DSP Pack also. Functionality wise I think it blows every other player away, and you could probably skin it to look like the Sense player too. But with 100x more features.

What music player do you reccomend ?

I have ton of music so what music player do you reccomend ? Great apk highly recommended.

Poweramp
Agreed Poweramp. I used to use Winamp until they closed the ability to update album art.
GoneMAD Music Player and Poweramp
Can't go wrong with either of those.
Poweramp, but note the volume output to headphones on this phone isn't very good.
Hello, here is my opinion about music player on Android:
poweramp and playerpro are 2 goods player, maybe the best ones!!!
By the way, can we skip tracks with UP and DOWN volume Buttons?
I'd usually recommend PowerAmp. However, the display of Album Art when embedded within mp3 files is broken on the S7 at the moment so you might want to hold off.

I highly recommend Google Play Music. You can upload 50.000 own songs from your computer, and you always have your all songs without any subscription. It is working well, and uses EQ, album cover...etc.
The problem with Google play music is the silly 1000 song limit in playlists.
If using Poweramp make sure that you disable the "Direct Volume Control" feature as it's buggy on the Galaxy S7/S7 edge and makes the volume sound way too low.
Also I would recommend using USB Audio App Pro along with a USB DAC or a headset with a build in DAC rather than poweramp though, as far as sound quality goes the difference is night and day.

Why for God's sake do you need a playlist more than 1000 song?

How about 3800? There are only about 1200 unique tracks in the list, but some are in the list multiple times. What I do is to take songs I like more and put them in the list multiple times. Of course, I only play that playlist shuffled... The end result is that my favorite songs play more often.
I actually use (gasp) iTunes to organize my list, and rate any song (that will go into my primary playlist) between 2 and 5 stars. 2 star songs go into the playlist once. 3 star songs go into the list twice. 4 stars gets five entries and 5 star songs get eight entries.
The end result is VERY good (for me) and I've been using this system for many, many years.
Sadly, however, it means I can't use google play music for that playlist. With S7, I have a big 128GB sdcard card, and my entire music collection on the card. I then use Samsung's music player (which works very well) for playing that big list.

Theoretically when you make thumbs-up opinion Google automates on some of the screens a preferred playlist.

With the mix of music I listen to, those automated playlists never work out. As well, they don't allow a "I like song A, but I like song B even more."
Why am I even arguing this? If a person can't see the limitations, then they probably don't apply to that person. They DO apply to me. Google play music's limitation of 1000 songs in a playlist is too restrictive for me (and for some others.)
No matter what player I use the audio quality is crappy. Compared with another phone it's just horrible

grab the latest PowerAmp alpha:
http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/max-mp/poweramp/poweramp-alpha-build-701-uni-release/
really great improvements to our mediocre DAC with some minor tweaks in the settings + custom volume steps!
Thanks, I'll try bu I doubt it will improve to an acceptable level. Still no excuse for such a good device to fail so badly at this.
Edit
Actually the improvement is quite big, so thanks again. Might be some placebo efect there but something is definitely better
