If any of our canadian cousins get kernel source can that be applied to At&t? I seem to think they will get it faster then us. With that said can At&t users use their kernels?
Jelly Bean? Never heard of it

Yeah, it's pretty damn great. This whole Project Butter thing is instantly evident with the first swipe of your home screen and makes all the difference in the world from a UX perspective.

I doubt HTC will be prompt about getting us any jelly bean love. The international version already has an AOSP ROM for it, so I'm excited for a ROM for the ATT version to be out soon.

Just ordered an N7 today. Can't wait to see what's up with Jellybean.
JB made me trade around to get my hands on a gnex :good:

Well I meant the question as who wants to guess when its coming out

let's start betting: I've got an N7 on Q2 or Q3 2013

the tf700 came out before the galaxy note 10.1

and the galaxy note 10.1 appears to have a much better dev community. I can't help but think i should return my tf700 for a note 10.1
thoughts?
samsung devices have a bigger following. that's it.

I think some of this has to do with the fact that there are slight variations from the 300 to the 700, the 300 has a larger community but we can't just grab those devs since the differences in models are just enough to make it a pain, but the models are close enough that 300 owners probably won't upgrade. Compound this with the Nexus 7 and so many modders got that because its cheap and pure android and you see what we are in. Finally, the tablet just dropped (is about to drop?) in Europe so that shrinks the pool a bit.

How much is an unlocked rom really worth? On phones it's worth a lot because of all the bloatware and need to maximize battery life but on tablets ... most have so little bloatware. I would rather have a much quicker Jellybean than all the Rom support in the world at this current time.

Have u checked that section... Most roms are for the n8000 and not the 8013 (wifi) version... And it doesnt look like its anything special anyways... Lol just sayin

It will get there once JB lands. Just a waiting game pretty much atm.

Once I finish learning java, you can expect me to...
Wait nevermind, I'm too OCD not to upgrade in that time.
Getting JB a million years earlier should ease the pain.

I am working on getting custom ROMs on this thing and I am starting with JB directly. No use making an ICS custom ROM when JB is coming soon. Its not been easy to get this done. I have a booting JB version but loads of stuff needs fixed. I'd wait for a JB version and use those libs to make a new build with.

I have to agree. Tablets are relatively clean. I have zero desire to do anything beyond the freezing of unneeded apps that I've already done.

You guys are lucky you might get jelly bean. Apple can't bother to try to get HTC devices banned because they're not actually a threat. Even if they were, HTC would be lazy and simply remove any infringing software. Us over at the sensation forum have a nearly working jelly bean rom but we won't have front facing camera working without official HTC kernel. Is it the same for you guys?

Virtually everything is working perfectly. Camera F+B, video, (Netflix on some builds),etc. The only problems are random reboots / freezing when screen is off but those have drastically reduced recently. There are even mounting of both internal and external SD on R4ins build although torch locks up when screen is off on his build. Our community took jb and ran with it. Daily driver for sure, at least for people who know what there doing and aren't scared of a hiccup or two along the way.
Best of luck getting yours functioning properly

There is no official JB for the Skyrocket yet, but you can get Vincom's Rom AKA VinRom if you go under developement its there. Not official but its the best ROM out there yet...Fast and very good.
Well take a look at how long it took us to get ICS. I believe we had a official release back in june and the unofficial leak back in December. So if we do get a leak I don't think we'll see one till mid 2013. Also keep in mind that the S3 is out so S2's are now obsolete.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda app-developers app
R4INS' AOKP Jellybean Sept-5 build (with InstigatorX kernel, of course) is definitely the most stable and feature-packed variety of Jellybean available on the Skyrocket right now. I'd be surprised to ever see an official leaked for this device because the S3 replaced the relevance of the entire S2 line.
There are conflicting reports. This one from SamMobile seems to both confirm and leave it in doubt.
Ok, the insiders of SamMobile reported to us that all high-end Galaxy devices will get the Jelly Bean update.
In other words, the Galaxy S II, Galaxy Note, Galaxy Note 10.1 and Galaxy S III.
When we asked Samsung Benelux about this they told us that they couldn’t tell us anything about the updates.

R4INS' AOKP Jellybean Sept-5 build is great, I don't have any problem yet.
I wanna install the instigator kernel because I have the 3.0.42 cyanogenmod-g5c2e4b4
the rom is too fast.

I disagree. As long as we have good, dedicated developers, the SR is not obsolete. There is little an S3 can do that a SR cannot. Our SR's even have an advantage in some areas over the S3, not the least of which is a long, strong history of quality development. Some users prefer the shape and physical build-quality of the SR over the S3, too.
Obsolete? Skyrockets, especially rooted and modded ones, are way beyond most if the smartphone market.

I really hope not. I don't like it on my nexus 7 at all. it's one of the reasons I didn't get a nexus 10. The overall general usability just seemed better before 4.2 on the nexus 7. It's hard to qualify I know as it is just a general feeling. I really want 4.1 but beyond that I'm ok.
Well by the time they taking just to launch maybe we will jump on 4.2 but who knows

Just wanna to say I want my note 2012 edition to get some 2014 love! ! !
When is 4.3 being released no one is talking about it.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using xda app-developers app
Because no one knows. You'll see a flood of posts on it IF it ever gets released, which most here are doubtful about. Seems Sammy has pushed this edition to the back and bottom of the closet. Don't hold your breath.
