Turn off the bass boost for headset if you have one enabled. I think the sound quality is pretty nice

Looking at the thread title, typing is crap on the phone as well. Mine sounds great through $5 monoprice earbuds...anyone thinking they are going to be thumping through their ultra thin smartphone speaker should probably be buying Beats branded products anyways.

Try Axiom S 1.5. It has Audio fx integrated with Beats Audio. Plus the volume on this rom is LOUD. By far the best sounding music of any rom I have tried here and I have pretty much tried them all.

if you familiar with electronics i would suggest you make a pocket amp for it it will really improve the audio quality and loudness....
do a search on how to build a CMOY amp
if you dont feel comfortable building one your self i can peice one for you for a price ofcourse lol
I am using Motorola s9 hd Bluetooth headphones. And I would love to have an audio booster for this or an equalizer for it. A stand alone equalizer.

no diy stuff for bluetooth... maybe some day someone will make somethin for the market...
There has to be a media player that has a built in preamp
Boostaroo is a decent headphone inline amplifier I use in my rigged aux in for my car... SRSWow would be the plugin I recommend for Android development most (currently on my Fuze).. It clears the mids and provides better seperation and clarity.
SRSWOW FTW!
most recent HTC windows phone always come with the AUDIO BOOSTER once u plug in a headphone but i dont know if other androids by HTC has any.my recent retired HTC HD2 had one and it was really working out for me.

audio player with eq... expensive and from the reviews, the music play sucks but the EQ is solid

Interesting thread..

sorry guys those files r not compatible with the supersonic.i tried the beta half of the screen was missing.lookin forward to a 100% working audio tweaks for the supersonic hopefully someday.
check out astro player. there's a file, in the nexus forums i believe. it has an equalizer, definitely helps for mp3s. it's subtle, but it's something. i may also check out the modified sound files vinny posted (his 2nd link).
I wonder if we could improve the audio quality by combining the kernel source from this thread: {KERNEL-SOURCE} GoDmOdE-EVO-2.6.29 {Make Shift Kernel} http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=686240&page=7
with the patch from this announcement: Audio Mod for the Nexus One! http://androidaudiohacks.com/home/archives/182
specifically: http://github.com/cyanogen/cm-kernel/commit/f044b1069c4d853e535fce2b800a0af4947a22f7#diff-0 to http://github.com/toastcfh/HTC-Supe...blob/master/arch/arm/mach-msm/qdsp6/q6audio.c

Just tested this app.. The UI is hot garbage but the EQ works and adds clarity to the stock mudd. Recommended for those with playlists who set it and forget it in the car.. No widget or default stop when unplugged.

So bad ear phone from Samsung

Least bass effect . Ear phone for optimus one was far better than this .
Sent from my GT-I9103 using Tapatalk
You must not have put the correct size of buds for your ears. The earphones are very good. The bass, I agree is not the best, but it is good.

Try the bass enhancement option in Music settings. Else you'll just have to buy better ones.

For someone who isn't all that into music, I have found the earphones to be pretty good. I would say they are on par with the Nokia Music Express earphones that I had before.

You can very well give a try installing trial version and decide which one is the best. Btw i'm not promoting here. Just a satisfied user after trying all other apps

One could also try N7player from Google Play/Market currently its free as its in beta and had a different interface from the regular players.
It has a Bass Boost option which can be boosted by quite a good amount.
Try out Music volume eq from market..You wil feel the real diff..Seriously i felt the same but after using this , i never thought of changing headphones.

i don't think So.... its Cool...
Works great with POWER AMP..!
one of the best earphone
if you want..... you can buy creative earphones....
in.creative.com/products/product.asp?category=437&subcategory=861&product=14744[/url]
this one, is the best earphone out of all earphones i have used...
@ OP
the bundled earphone is good enough in term of bass, do not let the sound leak by using appropriate size of eartip with thm and it could get you enough amount of bass...
btw which earphone were you using before this ??
PowerAMP iz teh bestz! :-D

Try them with voodoo sound ! Really good sound!
I agree, the headphones included are pretty much trash, compared with my CX870 they sound terrible. I know these are expensive, but any good headphones for about 20-40$ will sound better and probably last longer. I'm in love with sennheiser, the cx200 can be found for 20$ and they sound really good too for the price.
Yes !! the Effect is really good when used in Power AMP, but when compared to my Nokia N8 ear phones, its bad.
I also have a i9000 phone and its earphones look identical as the provided by the i9103. Except for the jack, which stripes are white instead of black. The i9000 ones sound way better that the i9103.
They are also incompatible, I mean, I can't swap them. Using Voodoo on both phones.

Beats Audio and xLoud mod

Just a heads up to those who may not know, there is a Beats Audio/xLoud mod/port on the board and it works on the Atrix 2. Beats adds a deeper, cleaner bass and cleans up the mids/highs too. xLoud is a Sony Ericsson thing, it basically boosts the overall volume of ur audio. I just flashed this mod to my phone and holy ****, huge difference! I had to turn all my volumes down media/ringer/alarms. My good cans are packed (moving this weekend) so no testing with them yet but after hearing the difference I just heard with only the phone speaker I'm expecting to be very happy.

where is the xloud .zip file?
Whoa - déjà vu!
xLoud is included in the zip.
Audio volume really is increased overall (I too had to turn everything down) and the beats makes the bass sound sweet!

Tried this tweak last week and it's great. My highs have come alive and it sounds much cleaner.
So how does the mod affect the Motorola stock equalizer?
I'm assuming the beats audio is only effective in the My Music app? So do I have to disable the "Effects" in settings to hear the Beats Audio? Or should I switch that to custom?
This work well seems crisper...... Did notice if the bass is overpowering the mids and lows go to sound settings and un-tick enable audio effects..... For me with headphones will set effects enabled effects profile custom surround ambient eq bass punch WOW!!!!!

Mine are....I have had to turn all my volumes down since installing this mod. I haven't done any critical listening since I don't use my phone like that anyway, I was just hoping for louder system sounds and that's exactly what I got. The Beats is just an added bonus.
Ok are we supposed to download the one that says older zip files test301.zip or the allandroidzip.zip that looks to be the newest?

Yea these are some of the same complaints I've heard about the actual beats headphones because they're made really for more hip hop songs and not a wide range of music the highs are where those headphones usually suffer IMO

[Q] In-Ear headsets sound is really bad.

Hello, for example i took the SteelSeries Siberia (In-Ear) and i connected it to the Sensation...
Well the sound is okay, but if i get some bad headsets in 1$. the sound will be kind same.
and then i connected the Siberia In-Ear to the Iphone (4S), and the sound was so good!
The volume and the quality was away higher.
Why? I really wanted to bought it, but its not worth it because the sound is bad that it connect to my Sensation.
Can I fix this?
Thank You, Adar.

The sound quality depends on the rom/kernel.
Beats Audio
well buddy you should had posted the ROM details.
Preferably, any of the ROMs with beats audio should be good.. these days htc ville is comming with good sound mixers.
Also at play here is the DAC the Sensation uses and the amp to power the headphone jack.
