[Q] In-Ear headsets sound is really bad. - HTC Sensation

Hello, for example i took the SteelSeries Siberia (In-Ear) and i connected it to the Sensation...
Well the sound is okay, but if i get some bad headsets in 1$. the sound will be kind same.
and then i connected the Siberia In-Ear to the Iphone (4S), and the sound was so good!
The volume and the quality was away higher.
Why? I really wanted to bought it, but its not worth it because the sound is bad that it connect to my Sensation.
Can I fix this?
Thank You, Adar.

It depends on kernels i flashed bricked and virtuous rom whit google play music and i own icrap headphones and sound was fantastic !

I have a set of JVC xx and they are clean and loud and the crazy thing about it is I payed $ 18.00 bucks for them on amazon new and I choose these over beats any day I'm old so I will choose the veteran's that's been in the game for some time just my two cent's

The sound quality depends on the rom/kernel.

Beats Audio
well buddy you should had posted the ROM details.
Preferably, any of the ROMs with beats audio should be good.. these days htc ville is comming with good sound mixers.

Also at play here is the DAC the Sensation uses and the amp to power the headphone jack.

[info] Beats Audio ... Fake optimisation..

Hi all !
I just post here to talk about ( again ? ) Beats audio.
After Many tests on many roms ( Beats / No Beats ) the results are here :
Take a 2.3.4 Without Beats audio Audio quality is really fine !
even in Bleutooth A2DP, Stereo Headsets or in speaker-mode.
Now with a 2.3.4 or 2.3.5 With Beats audio :
Audio is crappy With HTC Player in speaker-mode and A2DP.
When you plug headsets it enable beats then you have a nice quality but very very close to stock 2.3.4 without Beats.....
BTW you can listen to Music on deezer or spotify your have a nice quality without any probleme in A2DP or speakermode or Stereo-headsets.
What do you think about it ?
Best regards all !
I already said this. When u have beats kn the phone, htc makes the regular sound sojnd ****ty, and enable beats, and it raises it to a little better than nornal

You can't enable Beats in A2DP....
Is there a way to have both beats and the original equalizer??
Sent from my HTC Desire using xda premium
It's a gimmick. CM7's DSP Manager is better, imo.
I prefer using Poweramp and its equalizer presets. Sounds great!
Sent from my GT-P7510 using xda premium
But I really like the HTC equaliser .. DSP manager somtimes creates overload in my music.. and power amp has a unpolished ui..

I personally quite like the difference Beats makes with the stock earbuds, maybe that's just me
It seems to pull the sound "forwards", if that makes sense, and gives it a slightly richer sound. Yeah, CM7's equalizer probably does just as well, but I'm not on CM7 yet.
I personally find that beats is much better for my ears than CM7 + DSP on my non stock reference bud phones.
CM7 is alpha state and not quite ready for prime time... there are audio artifacts still in there so the sound quality isn't quite clean as yet... but it will get there.
ver8 is much better than ver7
Overall however, The CURRENT audio quality for CM7 is horrible and i listen to a lot of classical music... for example: violin plucking and bowing sound terrible on CM7 but sound quite decent on Beats... that is quite a shame as Beats isn't much more than an EQ tuning for the Beats headset... and i am not using Beats headsets im using expensive Reference buds.
Right now I am looking for a better EQ app on market to replace beats as it does have its short comings as well.
Poweramp sounds better than beats but its ui is garbage to me

Here's my opinion on this whole beats fiasco.
All beats focus on is BASS. The more the better. It smallens the sound stage, which is why some feel like it's "closer"
DSP manager is not tuned for you. You tune it yourself, as music is subjective to each person. I might like bass, but you might not. So tune it yourself.
Think of DSP as cookie dough and Beats as ready baked cookies. Some like ready baked cookies, but some want to fine tune it themselves, adding chocolate or ****.
All in all, I HATE beats. It's nothing but a marketing scheme to me.
Yes, at one hand it's maketing. And it's working. There are options with better sound. But, if you like bass based music, Dr Dre's sound is quiet good. The Beats headphones are strong, at least I like the cable. It's a better headphone with a smaller range of happy users.
I like bass music a lot!

Plus one fukin thousand people on this forum are such haters. At the end of the day ....
Stock sensation: my dhd with srs sounded WAY better
Sensation xe: best audio quality on any phone I've tried, it makes so much difference.
P.s I listen to music about 2/3 hours a day and I use beats studios so I can deffo tell the difference.
Oh and don't criticize beats on 3.5 Rom because we haven't got a proper port, the mods we got sound nothing like native beats on xe.

Its impossible. Music depends on the person listening to it. Why so you think there are so many headphone manufacturers out there? What works for you might not work for him. You can't benchmark a headphone.

Beats Audio

What do you think of it?
I just recently bought a pair of sony xplod stereos for my wife and I off of best buy for 50$ each. Great stereo.
Well, I'm running Capy's RCMix3D rom with Beats Audio. Hooked my Glacier up with the aux cable and have it playing in her car.
I must say, it sounds great. I read how people say it's just a bass boost and I won't lie, it kinda is but it really helps with some audio quality.
At the moment, my system isn't hooked up and I can't wait til it is. I'm pretty sure it will sound good. Anyways, sorry for the lengthy post. Just that I'd give some info on how Beats Audio is being utilized. What are your thoughts?

I honestly thought beats audio wasn't that great, never saw the appeal to it. I prefer poweramp(eq set to rock) an the dsp manager with virtual room set to concert (something like it). Beats to me is more for people who listen to rap or r&b(no offense to anyone), compared to i listen too, it just don't work for me. I also used skullcandy titan headphones. Then again that's just my opinion an thoughts.
If I helped, give thanks, if you please.

Obviously Beats has a target demographic. Come on, it's Dr. Dre haha. I've tried poweramp and I can say it's great as well, so is the dsp manager. Unfortunately I didn't play much with poweramp after the free trial ended. And dsp manager is my go to when I'm on cm7. I still set them to my liking and music (mostly hip hop but still have rock, dance, different music) the thing with Beats is that it is automatically started as soon as you hook your headset. I know poweramp and dsp save their settings but I'm a crack flasher and constantly switching roms.

I keep mine backed up, with the settings saved. So when I restore,I don't have to fix anything. With my poweramp, soon I plug in my headphones, it starts also. There's nothing wrong with beats, just not for me. I did love it with my hardstyle an techno music.

Motorola Atrix 2 (Lithium rom) with beats audio.

Hey guys, resently i have been testing some roms like, supercharged v6,Sonya and lithium.
I found that the lithium one its the best of them three (in my opinion) because of it's battery life and great stability.
If you want a great rom to put inside your atrix 2 i recommend Lithium with the beats audio drivers mod found on this forum.
Beats Audio:
It's in his develoment state but with this mod flashed in our Rom' we can get awesome results for listening to music.
Beats Audio its a flashable zip file that can be flashed with cwm.
You can find allthis files mentioned above in this forum:
1.Lithium rom can be found in develoment secion in Motorola Atrix 2 forums.
2.Beats Audio can be found by typing in the search bar Beats Audio.
All credits to its current developers.
HOPE ILL HELP ALL THOSE MUSIC LOVERS OUT THERE..

I have been testing it for i while now, yes i have tried the standard effects for now (my opinion is) that the bass effect in its standard Bass sound effect makes the playing music to much noisy (depending of what type of music) but in all it's very good.
I agree that Beats Audio does a pretty good job in destroying music quality. It's more a novelty, than an improvement to sound. Just my two cents worth... but Lithium is an awesome rom. Definitely one of my favorites!
Yes' beats audio is an alternative to those that like to listen to music in a loud state' in other ways.
Yes i agree with you that lithium is a great rom and one of ny favorites too. Glad to hear that.

HTC Sensation Audiophile ROM

I am wonder is there any audiophile oriented ROM for Sensation XE BeatsAudio ?
The most decent ROMS were CM7 ports, but since it dissapears, there is no any ROM audio oriented. Especially for persons with hearing dissfunction as I am myself who needs louder volume output.
I have tried all modds and variations and even ultimate producted Pink Floyd sounds "boxy" bad on ICS based ROMs..
Also Volume+ or any loudness app does not work as good as it works on CM7.
I tried out almost all ROMS avaluable here, and nothing found. Does it really seems that I have to go back to oldschool CM7.
I forgot to mention that I do use headphones model Sennheiser HD800.
Virtuous rom whit the play music app i can tell you it sounds freaking good ! I am no audiophile (not yet) but sounds feels good

If you are an audiophile why don't you buy an app for this purpose?
I use PowerAmp Pro and it really fulfill my needs. Also, sounds is not really related with rom but more with kernel, so it is up to you to find the "good" kernel.

Can you explain a bit how sound is related to kernel? I'm a bit of an audiophile myself, not so much with the Sensation but I'm just curious how the kernel plays into it? I'm currently on Bricked 1.4 kernel.

The simpliest comparison I can do, consider the kernel as the equivalent of a Windows driver. Windows can provide a music player but sound will be rendered by the driver.
