Newbie

Hey my buddy just got. One of these yesterday... so ill have to teach him to root and flash... does this phone have unlocked bootloader? What rom are youvguys running?

Well this might be helpful for a complete newbie. I though find this response to be unhelpful. Maybe if I rephrase the main question... what are in your opinions the best roms currently running on this device? Search... lol.

i recommend u zeus 5.2 m using it its u can say the modified version of the stock rom with android 2.3.6 u get cool themes too
its very muck smooth, rooted,deodexed..

Having and older version of hboot can it cause any harm to flashing a rom ??

Yes i did i even used google but its not always 100% clear that's why i ask here i know you guys can give me more accuracy answers ...

Ok i found out RUU is to return to completely stock am i right ? But still dont know how to flash it ? Ive read somewhere its a exe on pc ? Can anyone confirm and help a noob here ?

it doesn't cause any harm but you should match your firmware that contains Hboot with the rom you want to flash...and you should consider your firmware before flashing a rom

Ok i have a really weird question can a rom be flashed via restoring someones else nand backup ?? Like a guy flash a fresh rom and he backsup and i restore it will it work ?

Theoreticaly yes. Just make sure firmwares and radio match as they are not included in a nandroid backup. So if you try restoring an ICS nandroid backup on a phone that still has an older hboot you will probably run into bootloops. But I have done nandroid restores and backups interchangeable between my wife's Sensation and mine.

My advice is to read the sticky threads in the Dev section. Or go to Mike's Android Revolution HD thread. In his 1st or 2nd post he has links pointing to how to upgrade firmware to enjoy his latest ICS Rom. Just get a full handle on all steps involved, and what you might need to do if something goes wrong. its a lot of reading, but pays off in the end.

Noob here

Hey all sry if my question has been asked and answered b4 but I just flashed my gs2 to the fk23 jb leak and was wondering if I can flash it back to ics just as easy asit was to flash it to jb (un rooted). Im having issues with the flash on my phone n want to return it to sprint and I don't want them giving me crap about flashing the phone pls help a noob out...

If the phone is unlocked installing custom roms or rooting will not lock it. Once it's unlocked it'll stay that way so don't worry.

Hey guys I want to downgrade my GS2 from 4.1.2 to 4.0.3... I'be seen a couple of tutorials but they were for different Samsungs... Anyways I need a tutorial and the link to the firmware of ICS...

Read the stickies as you were told in your other thread that you replied to. All the info it there and the links to the firmware as well.
