This image is from Droid Life's review of the Verizon model and it's present in my Verizon model as well but doesn't appear to be in others.
This is probably a simple answer but it's not an easy one to search for, sorry!
i believe that's the GPS and location service icon. you can turn off both the Google and VZW ones in settings, but it'll still leave the crosshair icon.

Interesting, how come the T-Mobile version doesn't have it then? Or at least not in the reviews I've seen

Hi,
I just got my HTC Touch Pro about a month ago. So, far I love it and it's ability to customize. But there is one thing I cannot seem to fix. The temperature for my city on the weather tab is always about 15-20° colder than the actual temp. The 2 closest cities to me are right on. When I click on more and it takes me to the accuweather page it's correct there. Why wouldn't it show the same temp at the webpage? This is quite annoying, I'd love to use the weather tab, but as of right now it's useless.
Thanks for any help you can provide.
I need to ask the obvious question - For the city that is problematic, did you check to make sure that you've got it set to celsius or fahrenheit (whichever you use)?

Of course. If that was the problem the other cities wouldn't be right.
I do understand the need to ask such remedial questions, but this time it's not the case.
I believe weather pulls from yahoo weather or weather.com, i forget. Check there to see if the temperature is the same. If it is, it's a server error.
Pretty sure it'S accuweather, and it's accurate. So, how do I fix?

Sorry, I thought you could set it individually for each location. Nonetheless, my next question - is this a custom city that you added with the weather database editor program, or is it one of the preloaded stock cities? If it's a stock city, then I have no idea. If it's a custom city, then all I can say is that I had issues where the temp was off and the time was messed up, but only on my custom cities (i.e. it would show the wrong temp and a moon in the middle of the day). Doesn't help much, but figured I'd share to maybe get you down the right path.
Well bummer. It is one of the programed cities. I tried adding it manually into the registry and it didn't make a difference. Thanks for trying though. If anyone else has any thoughts I'd be glad to hear em.
...or even a suggestion for a decent weather program I can use in it's stead.

This is right, so besides from only checking temp-settings in the panelsettings you might also check your regional settings, just to be completely sure.

Nope Regional settings doesn't offer a C/F option. Not to mention the temp conversion doesn't match up.
I took the plunge when the FIRST leak came out a few days ago.
Yes I know all about the abilities to not root for now.
I did this to make sure there was no way and to help in a way to get others to take heed.
Now, to the App part.
Right after I loaded the first RUU I had a App which had a blue arrow, like the one found in navigation software.
This was separate of the Nav and sprint Nav which is NOW in this version AND the last.
I used this blue arrow Nav App and it was smooth and very fats.
The voice was understandable and I was just blown away by the fact we now had three (3) Nav Apps.
So...now I reloaded the OFFICIAL RUU and have it mostly set up.
BUT....there is no blue Nav App in this one??????
So now I'm wondering what else might have been changed and or added into the OFFICIAL RUU.
Kinda makes one wonder.....can anyone who ran the leaked RUU verify this blue arrow App?
I can't now as I did the Official RUU.

Nothing. As has been repeatedly posted, the Sprint release and the leak have the same MD5 and are therefore the same.
Update Google Maps from the Market like you did while you were running the leak.

I'll look at the google maps.
Damn I wish I had taken the time to get the name, I thought it was for sure a Nav App.
I updated maps and that's NOT what I had.
The icon in the programs launcher was a blue arrow.
And it took me to a direct menu of contacts, and locations options.
hummmm.

<shrug> Not even vaguely worth arguing about. The last one shows that Google still has a sense of humor, though.
Yes that's it.
See it's not the maps app.
But did you load the first leak, or one that a dev made from the first leak?
This may be why YOU still have the blue arrow.
But I loaded the official version and it's gone.
You are right and I didn't mean to start an argument, just wondering why it changed and what it really is.

<heavy sigh> I can't win. It *is* Google Maps as the third screenshot points out. If you Google a bit, you can find the story on Engadget describing the change.
Believe it, or not, as you like.
Yep, Yep now I see what you were talking about.
Bubba <---------shortbus rider ?
But now the question is, why was and is it in the first leak version and NOT in the final?
I ran the leak again and I got it back, tried to pull it out but couldn't find the correct name.
I then re-ran the official version again and now it's gone again.
So it's not in the release and yet everyone says they are exactly the same.
Oh, stop "sighing" you'll need some of those when the wife starts telling you what to do! J/K
How come there are no signal versions of the text/typo style widgets? I personally would be interested. Any one up for it?
Please move if needed.

Oh, come on. The guy wants a widget that shows signal strength in words rather than numbers or symbols. It's not that difficult to understand, is it? Something like "72 PERCENT" or "3 BARS" for signal strength.
"Signal Strength Pro" might be what you are looking for.
Someone woke up on the crabby side of the cave this morning. Pardon me for curiosity. However, this is relevant to my interests.

YES! i thought that everyone interested in the current text style widgets and Themes would like this idea.
Ive used that widget before, its just a little busy. A percent string, number of bars, or a simple image with JUST the bars would be what im looking for.
hi Folks.
I can share with you my trouble there is the white thin space upper then toolbar
So When I have 2.3.2 wirmware it was hidden at all - I have not got it but now I update my Samsung Skyrocket and it is apparent
How can I fix it? without wirmware updating/ what's wrong I do ?
That looks to be a battery bar, is it not?

That line indicates your battery percentage. It's called Team Battery bar. Some custom roms come with it. The service can be disabled easily. Just find the app and you can uncheck a checkbox. Great functionality, but from an aesthetic point of view, it is a train wreck. It is the first thing I turn off.
thanks. e... guys you are right I just plugin my device ti the charger and prove your versions. But how I can block the line ?

Thanks so funny! Most people love this feature. Maybe you should give it a try. Change it's color to something you like.
That was an MIUI only feature for the longest. I use it on all my devices and have for years.
So I know thats the question do not related with the topic but guys
How can I add Russian language on keyboard with the switcher option to switch English-Russian, I guess some kinds of modes on Playstore is allowed to get it- but I don't which one is good for the firmware
Many thanks
PS: Android 4.0 is brilliant. I so happy with that.

My wife took the update this morning. She is stock unrooted. She has never been rooted and will not let me root the phone. Anyway, she used to have all of these widgets for Google maps. Each widget was a route, and it would show a green, yellow, or red traffic light, depending on traffic conditions. After she updated, all of those widgets disappeared. She is also complaining that some of her routes have changed. I put her routes in on google maps on my desktop. It did the routes incorrectly, but let me drag and drop to change them. I can't seem to do that on the phone.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how I might get her google maps back to where they were before and how I might get those widgets back?
Thanks

He's talking about the old version you have an app called "Navigation" with a red icon and then "Map" with map icon. Now Navigation is merged into the Map app as one. Happened on mine too. If you still have the Navigation in the app draw then you're ...."The One".

Oh, I always got to navigation from the map app and ignored the nav icon. So that would be why I didn't notice a change.
Thanks for the responses. I tried the various apk files in the post above. They all pretty much crashed on my phone. And I was unable to set up a traffic widget. After searching online and seeing numerous complaints about this, I found the route alert app. It has a decent widget with two buttons. One button gives the route time. The other brings up a route map with traffic. I will miss the green/yellow/red light widget, but this seems like a good substitute. Originally, the app did not get my route right. But it let me set a waypoint to get it to route correctly. Pretty cool.

Hey, if you're the one who set the route then why you need the app? just kidding..This app seems kind of cool, ability to set your own route and traffic alert.. wondering how accurate is the traffic alert. This would be an awesome feature.
