[APK] Adobe Flash Player 11.1 - Android Apps and Games

Now that Jelly Bean is soon to be released to many devices and now that Adobe has stopped support for Adobe Flash on Android Jelly Bean and on August 15th they will prohibit new downloads on the Google Play Store, we need somewhere where we can get the apk because we will no longer be able to retrieve it from the Google Play Store.
So here is the apk: http://db.tt/5otQbUIj
Requires Android 2.2 or later.
Enjoy.

So many mistakes in one sentence:
- JB on many devices? Maybe, but not a single one with an official JB update.
- Adobe hast stopped support? They have just updated it and I'm sure they will continue fixing bugs.
- They will remove it? No! It will remain in the store for supported devices (<4.1).

It may still exist (for updates) on the Google Play Store but no new downloads of Flash player from the Google Play store will be possible after August 15 however there will still be bug fixes and security updates to supported devices (Android 2.2 - Android 4.0.4) Flash player for Jelly Bean is still technically possible.
This thread is here for the future and now that the Jelly Bean source has been released I said that JB is available for many devices.

From the market:
*** NOTE: FLASH PLAYER IS NO LONGER BEING UPDATED FOR NEW DEVICE CONFIGURATIONS. FLASH PLAYER WILL NOT BE SUPPORTED ON ANY ANDROID VERSION BEYOND ANDROID 4.0.x ***
While Flash Player remains on Google Play for installation on Android devices that are certified by the manufacturer, installing Flash Player on an uncertified device may result in unexpected behavior and can potentially destabilize your device.

So the most of the current devices will be able to install Flash for a long time. Just because most people will wait for an official JB update. And that will take some time.
But of course your link will be useful for many flashers, especially in this forum.

http://blogs.adobe.com/flashplayer/2012/06/flash-player-and-android-update.html
Beginning August 15th we will use the configuration settings in the Google Play Store to limit continued access to Flash Player updates to only those devices that have Flash Player already installed. Devices that do not have Flash Player already installed are increasingly likely to be incompatible with Flash Player and will no longer be able to install it from the Google Play Store after August 15th.

This confirms that Adobe will prohibit new installs from August 15th regardless of what Android Version you are running and Android Device you have.

What is the version number of the Flash APK link you posted?

This apk still requires network communication permission. Adobe flash player does not require any special permissions to run for quite long ago, I believe this is not the latest apk.

TeamEOS v1 Google Videos app

I've got the Google Videos app installed that shipped w/ the TeamEOS v1 ROM & can watch movies rented from the Market, but if I update to Google Play Movies, when it starts up I get the "Bad rooted device! Dats a bad kitteh!" error. Was the version that shipped with the ROM enabled to play rentals, even though we're rooted? or is it just dumb luck? I reverted back to the old version via TiBu & alls well. Also wondering this, if there was a change to the ver that this ROM shipped with, is the latest version of the app going to be updated as well.
TIA,

[Q] after flashing team eos ics 2.0 stable

hi, im new to the whole root/flashing concept but decided that motorola are dragging their heals in too long to bring the xoom mz601 upto to ics if ever so ive managed to unlock/root and flash with everything all up and running apart from internet connection not working but ive found solution and the only other issue ive got is both the gmail and youtube apps fail to update from playstore with the message (package file was not signed correctly. uninstall the previous copy of the app and try again) so i need advice on how to fix this please, how do i remove apps and if so will it cause a system issue? anyone help a noob?
did you flash a gapps package with your new rom??
@draxin hi, yes i flashed EOS_GApps_ics_4.0.3_v10.5 immediately after flashing Eos-umts_everest-2.0.0.zip
both gmail and youtube work but show update in playstore and give that package file was not correctly signed message when trying to update. just noticed there is a newer version of gapps named: gapps-ics-20120429-signed.zip which ive downloaded directly from the goo.im app but am not sure if i need to flash Eos-umts_everest-2.0.0.zip again first or can i just flash the new gapps and will i need to clear anything?
update
Just updating that I decided to try a reflash of Eos-umts_everest-2.0.0.zip and then immediately flashed new gapps (gapps-ics-20120429-signed.zip ) and after a couple of tries I've now got latest Gmail and YouTube as the latest gapps had removed them which made life easier for a noob like me. Loving my Xoom even more now with team eos ics running on it and looking forward to the next stable build which hopefully gives the data arrows on network signal as its really odd not knowing if data is being transferred in/out plus extended battery life would be great too although I'm sure I along with thousands will be waiting for jellybean stable release by the year end.
Seems I came late in here. Anyway, you could have flashed the latest gapps without reflashing the rom. Good luck and enjoy ..

hi, never too late as its nice to know what is possible and what is not. is there away to get just play music to flash as ive managed to delete it as for some reason it wont play any of my songs yet it finds them ok, not sure if the old music.apk was in gapps but ive got that and it works but i would like to see if i can get the newer music2.apk to work
Music.apk is part of android (aosp)
Play music is on the play store.
Gmail and YouTube are no longer part of gapps I believe because they are both on the play store

I thought play music was in the play store but its not anywhere to be found in UK store which is why I was asking, I could flash gapps again as that's in there but it wouldn't play any songs. If there is a fix for it playing then flashing gapps would be easiest option I believe, I've been told I can flash gapps without flashing rom again but should I wipe cache and dalvik before any flashing?

Always give a new rom sometime to settle in before you judge battery life. Like 4 or five cycles and you'll see how it's working.
I'm glad to hear you're loving the Xoom, running EOS!

That was Adobe, they want to move over to HTML5 for mobile. In fact flash player (for Android) is being killed altogether August 15 so it makes sense for them not to make it work on JB.
I thought they just going to remove it from the Play Store after August 15th, meaning you could still keep it backed up in Titanium Backup and just restore and use it. Will this not be the case?

Yes, you could do this, but you'd probably have to be in 4.0.4 at the latest.
I can confirm that flash still works on version 4.1.1 on the Galaxy Nexus. I assume it will be the same for the Nexus S.
Google said that flash support isnt needed on jb! The browser will fill in that part!

Hello,
if you restore Adobe flash from Titanium Backup seems to work on 4.1
adobe dropped support for mobile flash player before the galaxy nexus even launched, but they promised an update to support ICS and they did that and they said they will keep making security updates until finally removing the app from the playstore on august 15,they never said that the current flash player will not work on jelly bean,so installing the apk or restoring it from backup may and may not work.and with a linux porting kit available (as far as i know) maybe some dev will port it or maybe google will integrate it in chrome for android like firefox did for their mobile version.
i have test the port of Jb on nexus s and the flash player not working ... i try to find it from google play and isnt here ... then i install apk and no work on website .... i open site with flash and crash ... also no broswer open site with flash ...
No online tv ... no online game on website ... no miniclip ... site not view good because flash plugin needed...
Best way to get rid of the dependency on dying technology is to force everyone to stop using it
Flash ain't going anywhere period. Just a Steve jobs talking point for not allowing it on iOS.
Flash is a dying technology - still push QuickTime.
Flash not on mobile anymore but you won't see it off the net anytime soon.
But i want to see site that need flash player what i can do ?
I think this might be the case: In android 4.1, Chrome is the default browser. no unnamed android browser for Nexus 7, just chrome. And chrome doesn't support flash. that is why adobe says they won't support flash beyond 4.0.x.
BUT on the GN and nexus s, we still have the unnamed webkit browser on jb roms/ports, which were the same ones from 4.0. and it can handle flash just like it did in 4.0 since all the 4.0 api were compatible with 4.1.

Getting so close to daily drivers with the jb roms so exciting. A bit off topic, but anyone having issues with bluetooth media running? I have latest jbrom (i think) running on my ns4g and that is one issue I have run into. I can take phone calls running through my car kit but media does not work. It says it's working but it's not. I have tried anything common sense would ask of a human being. Something is definitely wrong. pm me with any responses please I dont want to clutter up this thread. Thanks in advance!!

Do apps require a certain version of Android to be compatible?

As on ios I know some apps will only work on versions above xxxx. Do android apps require a minimum version for them to work on, or will they generally run on any version?

yes, depending on your android version. all apps should work on 4.2.2 , but there are apps which require 4.0+ or 2.3+ etc. which won't work on cupcake/donut/froyo, on play store you will only see applications compatible with your device.

I assume most apps to try to be backwards compatible where they can?

Most old apps will remain backwards compatible. But some of the new arrivals are 4.0+ only.
Its easier for the developers to work on apps to limited to newer android versions.

Indeed it's easier for developers to not have to worry about backwards compatibility. The testing alone would save lots of time.
If you check the right hand side of the Play store, you can see the "REQUIRES ANDROID" info to find out if the app is backwards compatible.
For example, all of our apps for compatible since 2.1 because that's when the first version of it came out. We've been updating since then.
Yes, they do work with certain versions.
I guess so. Different cooked ROM with the same version also might be a problem. Such as HTC HD2 cyanogenmod ROM with MIUI ROM which is same version, when my cyanogenmod wanna use an app of MIUI ROM it failed in install.
So it doesn't look like any one ells said it but they play store will only show apps that are compatible with your phone(or at-least let you download them). Also on the play store website on all app pages in the far right info area it says "REQUIRES ANDROID: x.x and up". One last not is this information is set by the dev and it my not have been tested as extensively on say 2.3 or 2.1. Also even if it has been tested updates could break compatibility.

This mostly pertains to root applications that where designed for a specific rom. The one thing to remember is how compatible is your rom with others. If its based off CM then it will probably work with CM mods. Also make sure your busy box is updated and that the app doesn't need to be installed as a system app.

App updates (Gmaps, Whatsapp) with ICS

Hi,
I´m on the SVHD Rom but still didn´t get the google maps v7.xx update or the new whatsapp update.
Is this only because I use a ICS Rom?
JB Roms aren´t an option due to Hitachi-panel

You won't get Google Maps v 7.XX update, it's JB only.
Not sure about WhatsApp.

In the playstore description it´s written that it will be rolled out for android 4.0.3 and above. But I´m wondering how long this "roll-out-wafe" takes.
Well, while writing the op, I got the whatsapp update

I was also wondering that 4.0.3 thing, but in the article about maps v 7.0 on android police, the .apk-s for 4.1 and 4.2 were included that's why I though it would be Jelly Bean only. If it's also for ICS, then, I'm happy.
