Graphic glitches - HTC One S

My One S glitches on all 2D games no matter if stock or rooted or with any combination of ROMs and kernels. I should have taken it back when I first noticed it with in the first couple days of owning it. Here are screens showing the glitching. I tried using Chainfire3D and different drivers hoping it would fix it to no avail. Do you think it down to bad hardware?

I thought Chainfire 3D required S-Off in HTC devices, otherwise it doesnt do anything. Have you noticed the glitches in any other apps besides games?

I tried Chainfire3d as a last effort. I thought it wouldn't work but hoped i would get lucky
It glitchse and flickers street names in GPS as well. Also, Flipboard flickers while flipping through stories. However, none of the benchmark apps display this behavior. Osmos, Where's My Water and Cut the Rope are the worst. I'm at a loss.
Current settings:
Trickdroid 6.1.0
Virtuous kernel v0.6
No tweaks no OC

Flashed back to Trickdroid 5.0 TMOUS and graphics have stabilized. Something in the updates does not agree with my phone . It still glitches but much less and games are at least playable. I'll keep the One S for now...:good:

Poor performance in Dungeon Hunter 2

hey folks, sorry for the trouble, but I'm wondering if anyone else is having any issues with Dungeon Hunter 2 performance with the Optimus 3D?
i mean, even in 2D mode! every other game i have and play is just fine! The included NOVA, Lets Golf2, Asphalt 6.. I even bought Samurai Vengeance II from the market and can play it brilliantly regardless of 2D or 3D (from 3D converter)
but for some reason Gameloft's dungeon hunter 2 is a bit choppy in 2D and very! choppy in 3D mode..
I just got the phone the other day and am quite happy with it, this was the first hitch I encoutered really.. I'm running stock Gingerbread 2.3.5 as I updated from official LG PC Suite
any tips? is it me, or some kind of bug or something? or is this game really THAT demanding
thanks in advance for whatever advice you can give
A search of the net shows if it is the hd version it needs 256 mb ram free at run time and o3d doesn't have that free usually so you will need to stop a few apps running.
Sent from my LG-P920 using Tapatalk
dont think that should be an issue, really I checked around and 256Mb of RAM is the overall RAM minimum requirement for the phone, but that doesn't mean it needs 256 free
thanks anyway, though!
maybe I should try increasing VM Heapsize? dunno, it's a pitty because I actually like this game quite a bit but the low fps totally kill it for me!
I read it meant it needed that much free but perhaps I misunderstood. As for low fps you can temporarily disable cpu hogs such as live wallpapers and see if it helps.
Sent from my LG-P920 using Tapatalk
don't really use live wallpapers or any other cpu intensive stuff in the background, tbh
I just wanted to see if there was something else I might be doing wrong before whining to gameloft support?
already tried fiddling with VM heap, made no change.. also tried to hide libgles_android.so in a differente folder, also no go...
Strange that i have such an issue only with this title, everything else is just butter smooth throughout..
i noticed it happens mostly in that "free roam world-like" forest area whenever trees are being shown? inside dungeons its mostly smooth in 2D, but still not in 3D
unfortunately quite a large chunk of the exploring in this game seems to require roaming around those areas...
Sad panda here, 4€ for this?

hmmm now this is weird! I have reinstalled it, but still the same problem persists
what version of the game are you running? mine says 1.0.4, and it's Dungeon Hunter 2 3D..
also, could you please share what rom you're using and if you are overclocked or something? ^^
thx for the input.. ohh, and it's on the internal SD allright, I haven't even installed an external one yet.. damn my bad luck

same version and on stock gb rom without any tweeks or kernel. just removed loads of crappy bloatware and useless apps and processes. forest is almost as smokth as inside areas. finished the whole damn thing without any lag problems
Hmmm, do you have Chainfire3D installed and enabled? If YES, disable it. This game does *not* require it.

hmmmm weirder still, as there should not be much bloatware in my mobile since it was bought unlocked and independently from any carrier..
could you give me a clue to what processes or apps you removed?
By the way, i haven't installed chainfire3d so that's not the issue either
I've contacted gameloft support and they said they would provide me a new link to re-download the game.. Though I'm a bit skeptical that it should solve my issues let's wait and see though...
i've isolated the problem to areas where any piece of tree canopy shows up on screen, like an overlay...
if the area has no canopy in sight, the game is smooth!
any other thoughts?
my Dungeon hunter 2 lags alot in 3D but is perfectly smooth 2D Mode.
I'm not sure about Samurai Vengeance 2, but pretty much every single game (Regardless of how simple it is) starts to lag while converted to 3d for me. (<24fps)

[Q] Game Rendering Issues (Pink Polygon-Lines that aren't supposed to be there)

So I am trying out a certain racing game, and the graphics, which should be top notch, are malfunctioning and showing up half-rendered and littered with random pink lines.
Is there anybody here who just recognizes this problem immediately and can explain the issue? I have tried editing build.prop to disguise my A2 as a higher-end device and also Chainfire3D plugins, neither of which had any effect. Any help would be awesome.

Which game are you trying to run, and are you rooted and running any custom roms? What else might you have done to the build.prop or system tweaks have you made? The more information you can provide, the more help we can possibly give...

The game I'm trying is a beta of the unreleased Asphalt 7: Heat, so I figured it wouldn't help much. I'm rooted, running SCv6, CPU at 1200mhz, GPU also at whatever the stock V6 value was (I think like 384mhz or something?). The whole system is stock SCv6 actually. In my own experiments I modified the build.prop only a little bit, just changing the manufacturer, model, brand, and device to that of HTC One X, HTC Pyramid, and even the Moto Atrix 4G to try to appease the graphics. My phone ran Asphalt 6: Adrenaline fine, so maybe this is just a problem with the beta. I was just wondering if we had anybody with a simple solution.

Multi Touch Problem + 3D game lag with Any Custom Kernel

Of all the custom ROM's I tried along, ROM's with custom kernels gives me multi touch issues and lag in 3d games. i most of the time test with asphalt 7.
But in ROM's with stock kernel, I have none of these problems. In Short I have never been successfully able to overclock or boost the performance of my phone.
I was on ThaizO3D but due to battery drain issues I jumped to DNA, but in both case if I use Promethius, Titan or Blue Kernel, my phone just starts showing the problems.
My phone was an LG Optimus Thrill 4G which I converted to Optimus 3D. Is that the problem?
Anyone with a solution, and if at all ICS makes through this phone will it solve my problems?
Guys, Anyone???

Multi-touch - just slide 3 times right and 3 times left on your homescreen and multitouch will work like a charm.
Lag in 3d games, use supercharger script and turn off all your apps when starting a game.
No one really know if ICS will fix those problems but we hope it will.

Hi,
I have not tried this, but the procedure is indeed intriguing! what happens when we slide 3 times right and 3 times left on homescreen that triggers the multitouch to work like a charm?

Try to redownload the rom, sometimes they get a bit corrupted while downloading
Dont flash to much and always let your phone settle down a bit and always do a full wipe when your flashing an other rom.
for multitouch, try to add this to your build prop: ro.product.max_num_touch=5

Some LG logics that I don't understand.

I added the line to my build prop and restarted to find the problem appearing in stock ROM itself. I removed it and it was still there.

As I said before the problem reappeared in stock ROM and now I Found out your method to be working temporary only. After a lock/unlock it is back again.
Anyone fixed it by changing the digtizer or flat?

[Q] Lag problem

So I've been having this reoccurring problem with a couple of 4.2.1 ROMs recently. Certain games cause my phone to lag like I'm playing a game at 5 FPS. The only game I can think of right now that causes this is "Fun Run," but I've opened other games and the same issue has occurred.
Everything is lagged until I keep the screen off for a little bit, or reset the phone in some cases. This involves the UI, any other apps, games, etc.
I did not have this issue prior to flashing 4.2.1. Every 4.1 build that I tested was fine, but out of the two 4.2.1 ROMs I've tried, (SlimBean 4.2.1 RC1, and CyanogenMod 10.1), I get the same problem.
Any idea what the problem is and how I can go about fixing this?

I experienced the same lag, but I just went back to more stable roms. You can try the entrophy seeder app from the xda portal, it apparently reduces lag but I haven't experienced anything major.

Yeah, I know 4.1 doesn't have this issue. I like 4.2.1 better but I guess I'll have to wait it out a little bit more before getting that stability.
Anyways, thanks, I'll give the app a try.

Yes, we know something. You're trying to play one of the most demanding games (in terms of resources) on a 4 years old device, on an old ROM and you expect to have it work flawless. Guess what...not gonna happen. It's like trying to play Crysis 3 or FarCry 3 on a Pentium 4 with a 512 MB graphic card.

Hmm, this is weird. When I install Cm 11 OPO stock edition/12.1 Real Racing works hmm fine, but i dont like cm, and cm have other issue. On maximus this game is baerly playable, but sense 5 is beautiful. Stock 4.1.1 works better then Maximus, but worse then CM. I must say this phone is very unstable, I flash couple roms couple times and one times evrything works fine, but when i flash again to stock and then again maximus, i lost that stable when i flash before.
I wipe everything, system, cashe, data, internal, boot. davlk. I use CWM, TWRP and i must say this my phone dosent like me.

Thats because Sense will put a high load on the phone already so starting a game which demand even more CPU, memory and graphic resources wont help it perform better. So in terms of performance, a CM or AOSP based ROM will theoretically be better.
On the other hand, Sense based ROMs are using proprietary HTC drivers that are optimized for our device, while CM/AOSP uses manufacturer generic drivers.
Bottom line is that you have to choose. It's depending on what you want but playing recent and graphic intensive games it's not one of this phone's strongest points. Probably the lag is mostly caused by the less memory we have as our device, despite having 1 GB RAM, was good at this point 3 years ago. Nowadays devices with 1 GB RAM are barely running Lollipop and 2 GB became the new standard

Meaby I noob but i cant to figure out this phone, now i back totally to stock, lock bootloader, s-on and Rom 4.1.1 and.......... Real Racing 3 works fine no lag, no stutter. Like i said before this phone is very unstable.
Time to move forward and get Smart with 2Gb ram and quad core, but i love this phone, he brings me so cheerful memories.
Edit:
Hey One more question... meaby this unstable is casue by battery? This phone have ~2 years, it is possible that battery cause all this issue?

Very unlikely. Battery could last longer if it's new but won't affect performance in such way. My phone is 3 years old and is still working ok. I'm not playing games with it and battery gives me only about 15 hours with 3 hrs SOT but it's still fine for any other task I used to.
