Help! N00b broke his Sensation :( - HTC Sensation

Hello all,
So I tried rooting my phone yesterday, found out I was on 1.27.0000 and almost gave up but then I found this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1632553&highlight=downgrade
I got root access and then (here's where I did the stupid bits) I skipped doing the S-OFF bit, skipped backing up my current ROM and chucked Cyanogen 9 on there.
Now it just loops at the C9 boot up screen.
I've tried the S-OFF step after but get an error that it 'cannot find smart_IO.crd'
I've tried downloading an RUU.exe. If I run the exe from fastboot USB I eventually get an error and on the phone it says Security error.
I've extracted the ROM.zip from the RUU, renamed it to PG58img.zip, chucked it on the root of my sd card but this doesn't appear to do anything.
I've tried installing the zip - nada.
Tried overwriting my ROM with Elegencia, seems to install ok but I still get the C9 looping boot screen.
Any other tips? I've searched and searched the forums and tried everything I can find!!

nw extract the boot.img from the last rom you've flashed
keep that in your adb folder (folder where you got adb.exe)
connect your phone in fastboot/bootloader to pc (phone reads "fastboot usb" after that)
then open command window from the adb folder
type this command
fastboot flash boot boot.img
then reboot using this command
fastboot reboot
then it should boot
after that immediately i mean IMMEDIATELY read the below guide
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1631861
read read read the above guide completely ..understand what different you need to do (ppl with S-ON and unlocked bootloader) TO PROPERLY FLASH A ROM

Didn't help I'm afraid.
Boot.img went down fine, rebooted and still get the CM9 bootloop.
I looked at the guide anyway and the author linked to another boot.img so I tried that too, same thing.

first check the md5 of the downloaded cm9
use this md5 checker to verify the md5 of the rom (if you got no md5 tool)
then do a complete wipe ..i.e wipe /boot /system /data and factory reset
flash the rom again
then extract the boot.img from the cm9 rom and flash it via fastboot (as explained earlier)

OK got the tool, verified the md5.
When I do a wipe data/factory reset I get an error:
E:format_volume: make_extf4fs failed on /dev/block/mmcblk1p2
It then completes.
Same result however

format the sdcard and do the wipe again

Formatted the ccard (there's now not a singe thing on it, even had a look through windows.
Same thing when I wipe though
Pushed the boot.img again and now it freezes on the white HTC boot screen.
Progress?
Tried the RUU.exe again but still go the same security error

AHH F**K it we'll try fresh/from starting completely
first post the complete details present in bootloader
also the output of the following command
phone should be connected to pc from bootloader and then open command window in adb folder (folder where you got adb.exe typically C:/AndroidSDK/tools or C:/AndroidSDK/platform-tools)
and then type this
fastboot getvar all (post everything except IMEI )
then we can decide what to do next

OK.

everything seems alright ..so i presume the recovery is the culprit
follow the below guide completely to the letter (even install ARHD ROM ..lets get the phone booted up first..then you can change the roms )
flashing ROMS with SON and HBOOT 1.27

That did it!!
I was about 2 minutes away from smashing this phone to pieces but you saved the day!
Thanks man!!

[Q]Stuck in bootloader after flashing hboot

Hi everyone.
I had my Desire S rooted, CWM and S-OFF and it started to freeze sometimes. So, I decided to make it stock again and flashed recovery and hboot via flashboot. And now I can't flash RUU even with goldcard.
Now my phone shows me only:

I already used search, tried to flash different hboot, tried to flash P88IMG, and nothing works for me. When I trying to flash from flashboot, I get "remote: signature verify fail"
How can I flash stock rom now?
This is the thread, that saved me: Click
Best of luck
Thanks a lot.
I know I'm disabled, but what does firmware.zip means? Is it same with rom.zip? Megaupload is no more exists and I can't get the ROM, that posted in topic. Nothing works for me. I tried to flash zip "rom.zip" as it posted, but it fails with 43 main version check fail.
My phone thinks that he has 11.401 ROM and doesn't allow me to flash older roms. I have no idea how to change version without adb.
Damn. Someone, help me. I flashed ota update and graded hboot to 2.00.0002. After that i tried to unlock bootloader with htcdev. But when I try to confirm unlocking on my phone, it doesn't applies with power button click. But when I try to chose "no", power button works properly.

Thank you, but I can't use adb 'cause of my ROM doesn't loading. It is custom and I flashed stock recovery and hboot on it. And now I can't even unlock my bootloader with htcdev because it don't let me select "yes"

Loser, I know it. I failed just as started. Flashed Sense 3.0 Official-based old ROM instead of ICS to get acsess to adb commands, killed root, flashed hboot and recovery. And after all I found that version of ROM is 11.04.401 and got 140 error.
What can I do now? Somthing other than cut off my hands? =)
And finally, I succeeded. I flashed firmware.zip from 41.185.19.162/OTA_Saga_S_HTC_Europe_2.10.401.8-1.47.401.4_release_225210uj1q93xrps74xzje.zip After that I tried to flash whole OTA from flashboot oem rebootRUU. There was an error, but after reboot I suddenly booted to ROM. Buggy, almost dead, but I enabled debug and downgraded with zergRush:
cd c:\Downgrade
adb push zergRush /data/local/tmp
adb push misc_version /data/local/tmp
adb shell chmod 777 /data/local/tmp/zergRush
adb shell chmod 777 /data/local/tmp/misc_version
adb shell /data/local/tmp/zergRush
adb shell /data/local/tmp/misc_version -s 1.27.405.6
And after that I flashed 1.47 stock and updated with FOTA. Now I'm 2.10.401.8 S-ON LOCKED and it works fine.
Sorry for my bad english. Hope It'll help someone else.

[Q] Problems installing firmware

Hello, sry if this has already been askedbut I'm a noob so... Untill now I had cyanogenmod 7.1 on my sensation and i wanted to switch to OpenSensation but I needed to install the latest firmware for that! So I tried doing what they said on theandroidsoul.com/how-to-flash-pg58img-zip-ics-firmware-on-htc-sensation/ but had no success. Now every time i try to start the phone it just gets stuck at the cyanogenmod9 boot animation! I tried restoring from NANDroid backup but then it gets stuck on the cyanogenmod7 boot animation!
If anyone could help me fix this I'd be very grateful!
EDIT: I also can't install cyanogenmod 7.1 again!

thanks that explains what caused the problem
I'll try to explain it briefly
now typically our sensation can be broken into three parts like (it may not be 100% correct but its an analogy to explain the firmware things)
hardware/device ---------------->>> firmware(HBOOT + radio) --------------------->>>ROM (ICS/GB)
so for it to run properly
you need to have GB firmware for GB rom (GB- ginger bread)
or ICS firmware for ICS rom
otherwise it wont work
now in your case
you hboot is 1.27.1100 (ICS one) but the radio is still of GB one (10.14.xx)
and
from "INFOversion-main: 1.45.531.1" this we can say that you are running a GB os ..and i think its cm7.1 that you restored
now you might have understood why you are looping
your firmware upgrade is half complete ( 1 part is of ICS one and other is of GB one)
and you are running GB rom..which wont work
so now you have two ways out
1.to have cm9 (ICS rom)
you need to properly flash the 3.32 firmware first (ICS compatible)
that you can find it here (get the universal 3.32 firmware )
universal firmwares
then flash the cm9 via recovery ..voila you are done
(for safe side you can check you flashed fw properly or not ...hboot should be 1.27.xx and radio should be 11.xx )
2.to have back the cm7.1 (GB rom)
here you need to flash the GB firmware
get the universal 1.17 firmware from the above linked thread and flash it
(verify the 1.17 firmware by looking at hboot (1.17.xx) and radio (10.xx))
then restore you cm7.1 backup ..and you are done again
NOTE: remember to remove the PG58IMG zip file from sdcard after flashing otherwise you cant go into bootloader/fastboot
What he said do that as well you might want to get supercid it makes things easier...
Swyped From My Sensation.
I tried doing what you said but i it says wrong CID and sometimes battery voltage too low! If i really got the wrong file how can i put the right file on the SD card with fastboot or sth and do I need to change the battery? thx

get the 3.32 universal firmware (NON TMOUS) one and flash it
if you want gingerbread rom flash the 1.17 universal firmware (NON TMOUS one)
firmware thread
that should solve your wrong cid problem
if it still persists
then do a supercid
commands to supercid
1.fastboot getvar cid (store/remember your original cid)
2.fastboot oem writecid 11111111 (eight ones)
3.fastboot reboot-bootloader
4.fastboot getvar cid (verify your cid now)
I did the superCID but it still says battery voltage too low. Do I have to change the battery?
mankiboss said:

of course you need to charge the battery
if while doing firmware upgrade ..your phone got switched off ..due to less battery ..it can potentially lead to a brick
ALWAYS when flashing a firmware ..you need to have enough battery (atleast 40-50% imho)

I tried allmost everything i found, but i cannot flash anything.
Maybe the Problems lies on the Stuff i marked with bold Text.
Made a Goldcard under Linux, well i used Cat /sys/class..... and got this
001b534d3030303030100441616500b800 Normal
00b800656141041030303030304d531b00 Reversed
I used that to reverse it by Hand, and gave that to revskills website to download the goldcard.img
Well anyways, there is no chance to get away from the Bootloader.
If i'm using the O2 RUU's i get "140 - Bootloader error" tried it on the normal Way, as well with Rom.zip renamed to PG88IMG.zip
if i use the European RUU "2.10.401.8" comes "Main Version is older" or "CID Error"
tried it on the normal Way, as well with Rom.zip renamed to PG88IMG.zip
I even tried many PG88IMG's from here with Hboot, recovery etc....most gave me a "Signature error"
well i'm like to tinkle, but this time..i'm out of Idea's.
Anyone who's maybe able to help ?
Noone ?
Got it
1. Downloaded the Chinese OTA (http://forumt.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1722571)
2. Got the Firmware.zip out of it
3. Renamed it to PG88IMG.zip
4. That on the SD-Card + reboot into Fastboot/Hboot. (SD-Card must be a Goldcard)
5. Dang it updated to the new Hboot 2.x
6. unlocked the Bootloader with HTCDev
7. installed a Costom Recovery on it (CWM)
8. Installed with that Recovery a Costom-Rom (Fallout for me).
9. used the boot.img to flash boot under the bootloader.
10. used misc_version + O2 RUU to go back to the Stocksystem....as i wanted.

He got this unlocked phone from someone as a gift which worked for a while but now this is what happens:
1. Phone does not start (except for hboot screen)
2. Unable to do factory reset or get into recovery.
3. Unable to see device in adb. I am able to see my HTC M8, M9 on same system so I am guessing no issues with drivers there.
4. Fastboot oem lock returns error (... INFO[ERR] Command error !!!)
5. Fastboot oem get_identifier_token error (... INFO[ERR] Command error !!!)
6. Unable to boot into bootloader (fastboot oem rebootRUU) will reboot the phone and vibrate multiple times and then stays on black screen for hours.
7. Tried AAHK but no luck.
8. Tried flashing zip PD98IMG.zip with fastboot flash zip command but no luck.
9. Tried visiting htcdev for the unlock code but cannot see anything for this model.
All I need to do is get this phone up and running for this poor gentleman sole who gave me this phone with lot of hope... Doesnt matter which ROM or recovery..
I would really appreciate any help experts can provide.
