Xda Premium - T-Mobile myTouch 4G Slide

Does this app sometime fc's on you for no reason and when you try to go back it exits out the whole app and when you try to look up something in the search does it say "0 results found" even though its something so obvious like galaxy nexus or htc sense or something you would look up anyday. Can the xda devs fix this issue? Pics:

Anymore I just use tapatalk.
Xda app is a clone of it, as is forum runner and the few others.
They all have small issues like that - never had a problem with tapatalk itself.

I don't understand.
You are getting a quality product, if anything it's money well spent.
What do you spend money on?
If it's something you will use a lot, it really pays to buy the best one you can get, because every time you use it you will enjoy what that expenditure brought you.
An example - I use a lot of power and hand tools in my job. I save and buy high quality tools. Most of my tools cost 3 to 4 times as much as some of the people I work with.
People who spend $60 on a drill rant and rave about how cheap it was. They just can't understand why i'd pay $200 for the same tool.
Then, we work next to each other and while I am cruising along getting work done, with much less effort because of the more efficient application of power, they are working twice as hard or more to get the same job done.
While they waste time changing batteries every two hours, I run on the same battery all night, and do more work because I don't waste time walking back and forth getting batteries.
I also enjoy the higher level of attention to ergonomics, so 6 hours into the shift when their arms are getting tired from working so hard, I've still got a bunch of energy and a much more upbeat attitude because I'm not all worn out yet.
But, they saved $120 bucks on something they'll have to buy again in a year - whereas I'll get many years out of my tool.
...And even after seeing what the tool let's me do, compared to what they have to suffer with, most of them still can't justify spending 2 or 3 times the money for the same tool.
Of course, if you've absorbed what I just explained, you'll realize it's not really the same tool.
Can you put a price on the frustration and aggravation from using a cheap, substandard piece of equipment, or is what you get from ponying up a few extra bucks once a good investment?
It's easy to know what something is worth. Anyone can google something to find out it's price.
Understanding the value of that something is a completely different matter entirely - the financial cost is usually a small part of that.
The old adage of 'someone who knows the worth of everything and the value of nothing' is what I just explained.
Either you want to use an app that has problems, or you want to invest the time in finding and the couple of bucks in buying something that just works.
Before you decide something is a waste of money, take some time to think about what you get for that money.
Supporting the people that develop quality apps encourages them to keep producing those quality apps.
I've bought the XDA app on 5 different google accounts so far. I don't even use it, I prefer tapatalk. I bought so many times to support the community I've come to think of as one of my homes on the net.
That's maybe another lesson in value.
Some things to think about before you just write something off based on price alone.

Haha I caught that, too! I would love to see improvements in the XDA app though. Right now, when I hit Mark as Read for a forum and back out to my favorites, the thread doesn't appear Mark as Read until I refresh my favorites. This only occurs on my phone and using 2.3.4 ROMs. It does not act the same way on my Prime with ICS or my phone testing ICS ROMs, oddly enough.

My mistake - thought you meant buying tapatalk was a waste of money.
I was trying to explain that concept to someone on shift last night, they just couldn't grasp it, and the argument was on the forefront of my brain.
So, I apologize for the lecture, but the wisdom is sound so I'll leave it there, maybe it will help someone.
Yea, I view the XDA app as a donation to the forum, and they got a lot going on trying to manage this place so I don't hold a few random hiccups against them.
I'd rather time be spent maintaining the forums and site itself then a pretty window to view it through anyways.

XDA Premium FC's a lot. The not loading is caused by a network hick up, causing it time out. But XDA Prem has no idea it did that. Just kill the app, and toogle data on/off/on. I have that issue a lot , that's why I use tapatalk 2. I got it for free during betas I can update via market, and everything
Sent from my myTouch_4G_Slide using Tapatalk 2

I just wanted to say, here is another vote for tapatalk. I resisted buying it for a while, but after trying the beta version, I was hooked. I broke down and bought it, and it is one of the best apps I have ever bought.

My only issue with tapatalk is it doesn't show signatures when you are browsing posts.
Didn't know there was a version 2? I'll have to look into that when I get the time.

Well, after reading this thread, I've decided I'm going to purchase Tapatalk. Sounds like a fine piece of software to me.
A couple of other "Must Have" paid apps IMO are Titanium Backup PRO and Root Explorer. I can't imagine my phone without them!

Also agree with Root Explorer - I can't imagine Android without that app.
I have a personal dislike for titanium, though, and refuse to use it anymore. From the dev side all it does is cause headaches and problems.

why are people so concerned about Gingerbread? I bet at least half of the people who kept asking for Gingerbread does not even know why they wanted it. I'd like to see what is the main reason people need it. I understand it's the latest version and it got some cool features but does it really affect the phone that much? I'd rather ask LG to fix some of the issues they have now rather than the Gingerbread... just my 2 cents...
I thought the wordage (yes I did) of my tweet would display the humor in was going for. Now I did mean it don't let the smooth taste fool ya. But you guys are so he'll bent on making people feel stupid you didn't even notice it.
I didn't start this thread for scrubs to come in and flame. I want Gingerbread for the same reason I buy a new phone every 2-3 months. Because it's new. I know how to root my phone, I have every ROM stored on my phone so I can play with it in my spare time, but what's wrong with wanting an official update?
And don't you think an official update would come with bug fixes?
This forum has gone to ****, you ****ers need to get off your high horses and chill out. =D
But if you want a list.
Improved UI
Improved power management
Improved copy/paste
Those are the features I want. Keyboard seems nice too but I can download that now.
Anyways thanks for taking your time to try and ruin my day, but you failed.

Of all things to ***** about too! Ugh! I'd imagine that the douche poster could have tried advanced data restore in recovery... I mean, having to set everything up all over again can be a pain, but one can use titanium too.
Its gonna suck to not see his rom progress over here now.
On vacation so didn't get a chance to catch up before they were zapped. I highly doubt it was because of a single poster or comment. More like a culmination of *****ing about included features or lack of something, the same repeated questions answered literally 100s of times before (often on the same page as the question), etc, again and again and again after every single release.

Not sure what that meant. Anyways, this has been going on for a while. He was upset a while back because of something very similar - he sets up his roms to autowipe so that there are less bad flashover errors. While its a pain, there are ways around it for those who need to (i used advanced data restore) and the constant grumbling for features in freeware was unwarranted.
There have been 2 devs (chingy, gmichaelow) that i know of that gave up dev work on xda because of hounding by the people with the sense of entitlement. devs typically spend hours testing plus this does not pay their bills...and they have other lives.
It's funny how some people complain about something they get for free. I really wanted to try that 3D.

The sad thing is, if this person was so insistent that their data be intact, all they had to do was do an advanced nandroid restore and only do /data, I just did it and it works fine for me, going to gitis 1.1 from 1.0 (although this really isn't recommended since if something is broken because of this its your own fault and will not be supported)

Thank You!!!!

I just wanted to take a minute to say thanks to all of you and to my Team(Team ACS). The thoughts, prayers, donations, etc.... have meant so much to me. I've been really down lately. I'm depressed, scared about having the surgery and about how to pay my bills and not being able to develop for you guys has been especially tough to deal with. That was always my way of escaping and now it's gone. I was going to use the donations I received to try and buy another but I had to use it to pay some bills. So it looks like the phone will have to wait. I am trying to sell a Kindle Fire to use the money to put towards another device. I was going to trade it for a TouchPad because my daughter wanted one but for one it would consist of adding in money which I really don't have and two I really want another phone. But enough about my problems and more about all of you. What you guys have done for me will never be forgotten. Not to sound like a baby but I often cry thinking about it. I never knew I had so many people that cared about me. So thank you SO MUCH!!!! I hope to back with all of you soon

Mobile phobia ( need Help )

well i am having a mobile phobia thats why i am keep changing my mobile phone like after a week the phobia i am having is .. when there is a minor or even unoticable scratch fade aur even a dot on the mobile i get frustrated and then i want to buy a new phone ... i am tired of these things but my phobia wont let me stop .. what do i do ??
This is an expensive phobia...
So even if you've got a case or screen protector on there?

Look at yourself in the mirror. See the imperfections? You live with them so do the same with your G2X.
If money is not a problem for you, then enjoy the phobia. I am the same way when comes to car. So I feel your pain man.
G2x 2.3.4 root March baseband
I wouldn't say phobia... this is more along the lines of OCD.
You'd just have to force yourself to deal with minor imperfections. No one can help, it's all up to you to force yourself to ignore the faults and try to force rational thinking as to why you want to keep the phone...

I tryed version from apkmania (for test purposes). This program is unstable, picture that I choose is not in full resolution, even if I set zoom on 0, walpaper is still zoomed. At the end, I decided to erase it from my Note 10.1.
Works perfectly for me. You just need to pic a photo sized correctly to work.
I can never get over people who complain about a < $2 app they would use every day on their $500 tablet. No offense but don't be so damned cheap.
I don't think it's about cheapness. Some people weigh value against cost. I'm one; it's not that I'm cheap, I spent thousands of dollars in electronics each year to satisfy my tech cravings.
However, when it comes to value then it is a different thing. I'm not into pretty widgets, themes, icon packs and live wall papers. These are worthless and server no purpose other than aesthetics, IMO. Even those low-weigh-on-CPU worthless stuff and even if my tablet has butt loads of spare CPU juice and super extra RAM; even if the software in question only puts a 0.1% load on my tablet I don't want it, even if it's free.
I've had this philosophy even back in my iPhone days, I've had most them and things like WinterBoard, low weight, pretty on the eyes, and free... I don't want it.
To each, his own. You have no right on telling people what to spend their money on. The same way we cannot critisize you for already having spent your money on this live wallpaper.
Thanks for sharing, I actually like to see those pretty things; just not on my devices.
