My screen all of a sudden when I turn on my phone, its grey. No color, words, or anything. Blank screen- no cracks or I dont think its due to a cracked screen.
The phone works because when I call it it rings and I would slide the middle area and its able to pickup the call.
Tried disconnecting the battery for a few minutes. did not solve the issue.
Any suggestions?

The device is Samsung Vibrant.
So recently I replaced the screen and it has an annoying bright strip on its left side that randomly shows up from time to time, so I decided to reinstall the screen to fix it. After doing that the screen would stay black but it still reacts (it vibrates upon unlocking, etc)
Before I do anything else, I was wondering if anyone has encountered this and managed to make the screen work again, before I send it back. Thanks.
I think connection was failing and by replacing display it failed ...
yea probably. gonna send it back. thanks
hi all,
my butterfly's screen just turned black. the phone is still functional because i'm receiving calls, making calls (my lock screen has a shortcut to a contact), receiving notification sounds, and i WAS able to feel the vibration feedback of unlocking my phone.
so basically the screen just lights up black, any ideas on how to reset it?
I tried to guesstimate on the screen where the reset option is, but i can't seem to get the right area after trying like 10 times...
i'm thinking, while i wait for htc to reply, to just let the battery run out?
Been running lollipop on my nexus 5 for a few days now. I have notice a few bugs when in a phone call. When i put the phone up too my ear, the screen doesnt always go black, sometimes it just dims, and when the big red end call button touches my cheek, the call disconnects. The second problem when the screen only dimes, my ear pulls down the notification tab and activates what ever notification are showing. I never had these problems with kitkat. Anyone else noticing these problems.
Yes...
I have same problem...
Sometimes in a call, the screen lights up even with my nexus flip case closed....

Am I the only one to want a gif of your ear pulling down the notification tab?
Hi all, I've got a weird problem. The last 3 days my screen has been acting strange. Phone is working without problems when suddenly the hardware buttons won't respond any more. After a few seconds the screen goes black and stays black. Buttons are still lit, but don't respond. But the strangest part is that the drawer stays visible and can also be used normally. I mean, I can draw the notification area down and let it fill the complete screen. So the screen itself doesn't appear to be broken.
Also, when putting the phone to sleep and awaking it again, I can see the normal screen a brief moment, maybe half a second before it goes black again. Restarting the phone is the only thing that will help...
I've cleared Dalvik/cache hoping it would make a difference, but it did not. Hope someone has got a clue?
I've uploaded 2 screen shots to show what I mean.
I'm rooted on OxygenOs 1.0.3/Android 5.0.2.
During a phone call screen on my samsung j7h just goes black and I cant turn it on, even after a call. I have to wait for other caller to hung up and then I can turn screen on. Sometimes it works ok - when I remove j7 of my ear screen turns on but most of times it is always black during and after a call regardless is my phone on my ear or not. I have glass protector but it is original for j7 with holes on right places. I tried *#7353# and everything works fine but during a call I have a problem. It is still lollipop.
