[REVIEW] Incipio Silicrylic - AT&T, Rogers HTC One X, Telstra One XL

I just got my Incipio Silicrylic case in and I like it so much that I figured I would type up a quick review for you guys.
So as most of you all know, I have a little bit of a problem with buying cases for my phone. I've got probably 15 or so cases laying around that range anywhere from expensive name brand cases like the Otterbox Defender all the way down to cheap-o ebay cases that cost $1.99. Generally I get a case, try it on, hate it, and toss it aside in one of my drawers. There have been only a few cases that I have actually liked enough to use in my day to day life, mainly the Diztronic TPU, Otterbox Commuter, Seidio Surface, and now the Incipio Silicrylic which I think is the favorite of the bunch.
Right out of the box you can tell that this is a very high quality case, and Incipio had both form and function in mind when designing it. It is a 2 part case, a'la Otterbox Commuter or Casemate Tough (which I also own). It consists of an inner silicone layer with an external hard plastic layer. It doesn't feel rigid enough to be polycarbonate but I could be wrong. The hard shell has a very nice soft touch coating to it that adds to its classy look and feel. It is very easy to put together, which is my main complaint about the Commuter, and I must say it looks VERY stylish. I opted to go against the grain and picked up the two tone light/dark gray case and man is it slick looking on my gray One X. I generally go for black cases but I'm glad I stepped outside of my comfort zone with this one because it does add a lot of style to the already sexy looks of the One X.
The case is surprisingly slim for what it is, and feels great in the hand. I think it's about the same thickness as the Commuter, but it just feels like a much higher quality case. I think that the added thickness only helps make the phone feel more substantial, and doesn't add any uncomfortable bulk whatsoever. These types of cases naturally add a significant amount of thickness versus say a TPU case, but the way Incipio designed it, it doesn't FEEL like it's that much thicker. It really feels just slightly thicker than my Diztronic TPU. I took a picture of the phone next to the case so you can see just how much thickness is added. But honestly, no picture can actually convey it, you need to hold it in your hand and you'll see what I mean. It's splendid.
The case is designed to fit both the S4 LTE One X that we have and the international Tegra version. While other cases that are designed for both tend to favor the international version with the camera cutouts, I am happy to report that they chose to align the cutout to fit the S4 version, so the camera here is dead center of the cutout and everything is perfectly aligned. Unlike the Otterbox Commuter which has flaps covering the ports, the Incipio Silicrylic just has cutouts so it is a little less protective in that regard. Also, unlike the Commuter which has the plastic gripping the top and sides of the device, the Silicrylic grips the corners which in my opinion is a much better design. Aside from the fact that when you drop your phone it is the corners that tend to take the most abuse, it is just way easier to install and remove the case. My biggest complaint about the Commuter was that I always felt like I was going to break the phone whenever I tried to take the case off. It is so difficult to do that I really just stopped using the case. I am happy to report that this case is an absolute cinch to install and remove.
The power button and volume rocker are very easy to press thanks to the raised silicone over the respective buttons. It actually makes them easier to press which is a very welcome change. The case does have a nice lip around the front so you can definitely lay it down on its face without worrying about the screen getting scratched. I am also happy to say that the camera lens is completely recessed in the back of the case so there is no chance whatsoever of it getting scratched/damaged when laying the case down on its back. It did come with a basic screen protector but I hate screen protectors so it's not going on my phone and I have nothing to report about it.
Overall I am VERY happy with this case, which says an awful lot all things considered, and I recommend it highly for anyone looking for a case that offers a little more protection than your standard TPU case would. It is safe to say that this one will NOT be making its way to one of my giveaways any time soon
I got it for $29.99 from www.incipio.com.
Please forgive the crappy picture quality, these were taken from my iPad 3.

Left to right- Case-Mate Tough, Incipio Silicrylic, Otterbox Commuter

I need to check out the Silicrylic. Awesome review. And it's not too bulk compared to others with the same protection.
And wow, it really does look nicer than the commuter.. I've been loyal to Otterbox for some time though, haha.

Just ordered black/black.
Damn you and your enticing reviews. :-[

Where are the pics I would love to see? I tried a commuter on at the local at&t store here and I was leaning towards it, I really liked the slim profile and the way the camera and flash cutouts were exact and separate not just one big cutout and I was surprised how slim the phone was still, It was super hard to put on and take off but I kinda like that since there is no battery and im not a fashionista switching cases all the time I would be rest assured when it fell the case wouldnt pop off.

Oh one other question where as the otter has only the rubber on the corners showing and the Icipio quite the opposite do you think the sides on the Incipio will stretch and be sort of flappy letting dirt inside?

It's definitely a lot looser on the sides than the Otterbox and yeah, the possibility of dirt getting in is there. It's not annoyingly loose though, it stays snug on the phone unless you play with it.

Just got home from work and it was waiting for me. Really crappy packaging for what you pay. Everything is loose inside a cardboard tube, no printed box or anything like that. Instructions are on a printed piece of paper. I might get around to putting it on today.

metalhead, since you have so many cases I'm assuming you have or tried the seidio active case that comes with a kickstand.. would you recommend it? Ive been looking at it and I like the kickstand idea since I like to watch videos. i have the otterbox defender case right now but I feel like its a bit bulky for my taste. Any thoughts? I'm so close to buying it but I just need reassurance so I don't make a bad choice lol. Thanks and great review btw.

I haven't tried the kickstand case but the regular active was my favorite case for my EVO. I've heard that the kickstand is kinda flimsy so I dunno. If they had an active for our phone without the kickstand I'd have snagged one by now but I'm not interested in the kickstand at all.

hello,
Does the Silicone Core catch the dust / lint?
btw, you should buy this one when it came out:

All silicone cases catch dust to an extent but because of how smooth the silicone is here, it's minimal. It's also hard to see any dust or lint on it because the silicone on mine is a very light gray so it hides it well. I'd imagine on a black one it would be a little more noticeable but it probably won't be that bad at all.
That's an interesting case. I'm not sure if I like it though, those corners are a little bulky for my tastes.

Seidio Active X review

I ordered the Seidio Active X case the day it was released and just recieved it today. I originally purchased the Innocase Surface II when it came out but soon returned it. While I liked that one for the most part, I didn't like the power button/volume rocker cutouts and the phone was also a little loose in the case. I ended up purchasing one just like it at Best Buy (Platinum case) to last me until the Active X release. I can vouch for the shock protection because the first day I had it on the phone, I dropped it on pavement when getting out of my truck; no damage to the phone whatsoever, and barely scratched the case.
The Active X covers up both buttons and makes it much easier to operate. It fits perfect (doesn't cover up the speaker like another case, haha.) While the Innocase is a hardcase, the Active X is silicone with a plastic exoskeleton which I think will offer the same protection. It also has finger grooves which make it easier to hold. The only con that I can think of is that it may attract more dust than the innocase due to the silicone but I haven't really noticed any yet. So far I love the case, best one I've used so far. Now for some pictures...

The Active X is just a tad thicker than the Platinum but not too noticable once it's on the phone

Good write up.. Please be sure and let us know how bad or if it attracts pocket lint.. I see you got the holster with it, will you be using that or putting it in your pocket?

Thanks! I usually just use the holster at work/around the office.
I've kept it in my pocket today and I do notice it holds on to pocket lint a little, mostly on the silicone edges of the phone, not on the rubberized plastic back. Not a dealbreaker for me because the lint is easily wiped/blown off.

looks like i'm going to have to go ahead and order one of these. Looks way better than the otterbox... Which I now have 2 and they're supposed to be sending me out my 3rd whenever it's revised
This looks like a winner to me. Maybe I'll buy this since I don't have warranty or insurance, and the oem case isn't gonna cut it.

that sucks.. I was trying to order the case and holster seperate and use XMAS20 which is supposed to be valid until 12/31 but it said it was expired??
Did you notice the holster in the bundle looks different than the holster sold seperately for the Active X?

I didn't notice but I just looked at their website and you're correct, the holsters look different. I ordered the combo and they were packaged separate; not sure why they would sell 2 different holsters for the same case.
I have noticed one thing while using the holster that's a PITA. Removing the phone is no problem but putting it back in is a little difficult. The spring clip is tapered so you can slide the phone into the holster. The clip is so tight that it pulls the silicone away from the top of the phone if you try to slide it in. Sometimes I have to lift the spring clip with my finger just to get the phone in the holster.
Not a huge deal but just a little annoying. I'm hoping it just needs to be broken in a little, if not I might be contacting Seidio.
Not trying to be real picky but it doesn't seem to work the way it was designed to.

It's an optical illusion. The picture of the holster separately was taken at an odd angle. This case is smaller than the Otterbox Commuter, so should fit in a car dock the Otterbox fit in. I've ordered a Garmin Nuvi 200w car dock that I am hopefully I can use with this case, with slight modification. I love this case, BTW. Very happy I waited for it to come out.

do you use the holster? do you have any problems with the hinge as reported above?
Please let us know if the Garmin mount works.. That'd be great
I've used the holster a couple times. I lift the hinge with my index finger as I push the phone back into the holster. Never occurred to me to try just pushing the phone back against the hinge to force the hinge up and out of the way. Yeah, I checked it, not a good idea. That may work with a hard case, but (as the original poster noted) will not work with this case. Not even an issue I would have noticed, though.
I don't expect to use the holster much and only got it due to the 20% off promotion on orders over $50. I got this case over the Otterbox because it is thinner and I intend to keep my phone in my front pocket. I'm not having issues with lint either as the silicone is more like synthetic rubber.
I love the look, feel, quality. Highly recommended. I found myself holding the phone way over my head to take video over the crowd today, something I would never have done before. The size, shape, grippy materials - it's not just how it's protected if you drop it - it's that you feel like it won't slip out and drop now.
Note that only the phone's back cover is on the case, so the 2 pieces of the case are not together as well as they would be with the case on the phone. I was just documenting alignment.
do you feel like the silicon lip makes it hard to hit keyboard buttons on the edge of the screen?
Yes, I do. It is especially an issue dragging shortcuts between homescreens as I get right to the edge of the screen, hit the lip, and drop what I meant to drag to the next screen. The silicone-rubber lip doesn't cover the screen at all, or even come within a mm of doing so (it stops about halfway between the edge of the glass and edge of the actual screen). But to hit the edge of the screen with the tip of a typically fat finger requires pushing the silicone-rubber over a bit. It is an annoyance, but I have been able to accomplish everything I've set out to do without removing the case because this lip is soft silicone rather than hard plastic. I considered trimming it back a little with an exacto, but I suspect the silicone-rubber would no longer stay against the phone as well if it did not extend over the glass as much to provide tension due to the reduced circumference of the edge.
so has anyone had the holster come broken? mine works great, except the positional lock that the holster is supposed to have doesnt work, and there is visible damage to the plastic washer that holds the belt clip to the actual holster. annoying, i just got it today!

Got mine today. Love the look and protection. Does anyone feel like the rubber polymer is slippery? I might return just because it feels so slippery to the touch. Maybe I can treat it with a surfactant or something to change the feel.

Yoobao TPU+PC Case Review

Hi guys, I just wanted to give my review on the case that I've finally settled on! It took me forever to finally decide on a case, but I finally made my choice and I couldn't be happier. I originally had the Silicone case from the T-Mobile store, but that case just wasn't to my liking.
Up first is the link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/YOOBAO-TPU-case-Skin-Cover-HTC-Sensation-4G-Z710e-/220837531137?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item336af14e01
Nice price for a high quality case for sure. Item took me 9 days to get from the time I ordered it, which isn't at all bad considering it ships from Hong Kong and I'm in California.
The breakdown: this is a lightweight case (AKA not a competitor to the Case Mate Tough and similar heavy-duty cases) that is made out of 2 materials. It is both TPU and Polycarbonate (plastic). The parts that are plastic are where the 2 wedge-shaped pieces on the back of the phone are (above and below the swoosh).
My review: my primary reason for getting a new case was because the T-Mobile gel case was too loose. It felt like a pair of baggy pants on a skinny kid (Take it from a skinny person that that feeling is really uncomfortable). First up is the packaging:

Nice packaging, comes with a screen protector and cloth inside (I haven't put the screen protector on yet so I'll report on that later). The most noticeable things about the packaging are the comical errors in grammar and spelling, but I couldn't care less about that when I like the product .
I read good things about TPU cases being much tighter than Silicone, and the Yoobao case is certainly a good example of that. Out of the box, it is much more resistant to flexing and takes a bit of an effort to actually put the phone into. BIG plus for me. It's very form fitting and tight on the phone. It's also a thin case, which was instantly noticeable because in the hand it feels more like a naked Sensation than the T-Mob case did. That's not to say it provides no protection, because the combination of TPU and PC makes it feel quite strong for a thin case. Also, let's be honest that most people looking for thin TPU cases aren't looking for the most hardcore in protection. I'm sure the Yoobao will do fine in minor drop situations.
The cutouts on this case are close to perfection.
The headphones jack is fine for the headphones I use. It's about the same size that the cutout on the T-Mob case is.
The cutouts on the top half. As you can see, Yoobao included cutouts for every place where they are needed. 2 things I really like here: the first, that the cutouts are perfectly placed (the mic holes are perfectly centered in each cutout, which is rare), the second, that there is a separate cutout for the camera and the flash. Most cases have one big hole for both the camera and the flash, and the fact that this has individual cutouts exudes quality.
Cutouts at the bottom. This is a pretty bad picture because the mic holes are better centered than the pic makes it look like. Again, nice that they have individual cutouts.
Terrible picture, I know, but I just wanted to show that even the bottom mic hole has a cutout (which like the others is perfectly aligned).
This is the ONLY thing I don't like about the case. While (looking at the cutout from this orientation) the left and right sides of the cutout provide plenty of space, the top part is just barely too thick.
As you can see from the bump, it's just a little too tight for the charger. It's still easy to get the charger in, it's just that it pushes the TPU up right there.
It's a very minor issue, and I'm sure you could easily take a knife to it to make it fit better. This is legitimately the only thing I would change about this case.
The looks:
The looks of this case were probably the main reason I chose it over others. I personally wanted a light case that preserves the looks of the naked Sensation as much as possible, and I don't think you can do any better than this case. I obviously went with the black model, but there is also a white model. The TPU is translucent, and in decent light the case is a dark smoked color (it's really only in low light that it looks completely black). Really sexy color, and it's awesome that you can see the htc logo on the back. The other main case I looked at was the Qubits one that is very popular, but I liked how the Yoobao allows you to see the actual swoosh and htc on the back, rather than an opaque black swoosh that merely imitates the phone. The plastic pieces are so well done that they look just like the phone underneath.
I thought that this picture demonstrated how smooth the transition is from PC to TPU. It's really only a transition that you can feel; you can't see it because it's so smooth.
Other things to note:
The TPU comes up over the lip around the phone like most cases do. It's thin, so when you place the phone face down the screen is just barely off the surface. I didn't include this as a negative thing because I don't have any personal experiences with other cases other than the T-Mob one (which definitely does provide a bigger lip), and I've also heard that TPU cases don't give as much a lip as Silicone cases do.
The power button is harder to press down, but I also didn't include this as a negative because I've heard the same about many TPU cases. The volume rocker also takes a little bit more effort. Both of them are covered by clear TPU that isn't smoked, so it's kinda cool that they are showing off the metal pieces on the phone.
It's not as grippy as a pure silicone case because it can slide around a bit on the plastic parts. I personally think it's grippy enough and enjoy how easy it is to slide in my pants.
Summary: this case is about as good as a lightweight case can get. If you aren't looking for hardcore protection, I absolutely recommend the Yoobao case. It looks great, feels great, adds minimal bulk, fits tightly, and has near-perfect cutouts. IMO no other case out there does a better job of preserving the Sensation's design, and no other case can match how well done the cutouts other than the USB cutout are. I might buy another one just to have an extra because I like it so much. If you have any questions, feel free to let me know.
It's just like any other tpu "twill design" cases. It's just branded that's all.
Nice review. I got one that is unbranded. Don't use it no more.

Ahh just noticed the difference. The matte covers the top and the bottom where the Yoobao doesn't.
Does the screen protector cover the whole front glass? or just he visible screen?
Sorry to hijack your thread but I do have a white one for sale for weeks but one person asked about it and never followed through. The one I have was never used. I just put it on for testing purposes, but ended up not using it. The fs thread is in the marketplace here or you can PM me for details. I don't want to detract the thread by posting pics and such .

Great detailed review my friend!
can't link yet, but go to amazon.com and type in "HTC SENSATION 4G / SENSATION XE GEL SKIN CASE"
is this suppose to be the same case??
I just got these case myself last week. I love the fact that it fits inside my OEM HTC Leather case. I had to apply little shoe stretch on the sides. But the phone fits perfectly. I was considering the expensive Seidio case and holster...but the Yoobao TPU & Screensaver and the OEM leather case were a great deal at about $20 shipped total on ebay.

Ahh just noticed the difference. The matte covers the top and the bottom where the Yoobao doesn't.

Not sure what you're talking about. The Yoobao case covers the top and bottom just like any other case (it wraps around the front at all sides, providing a lip around the whole phone just like most other cases). And I haven't tried the screen protector yet.
Great Review!
I actually was considering this case, but the Yoobao was a big turn off for me. Has anyone found a way to cover up/scratch it off?
I am sure Goof off would take it off.

buy one without yooboo on it. search for 'twill gel case'
I must add something, the screen protector that comes with this Yoobao cover fits the screen a 100% and with a little heat and dust free environment applies perfectly.
I just receive mine today and quickly put the OtterBox Commuter in my drawer.
I must thanks the OP, this is an awesome purchase.
This case is awesome. Thanks OP for the find!

I know I said I was going to do an update when I installed the screen protector; obviously I put that off for a long time. Anyways I did install it and it's exactly like you describe. Applied incredibly easily, no bubbles, fits perfectly, and it even has a little bit of a cutout for the light sensor. Awesome screen protector to complement an equally awesome case.
Just wanted to give this a little bump to update and for others to see this review who haven't yet.
I bought this case; did anyone try removing the yoobao logo with goo-off? if not, i'll guess i'll be the 1st one to try since i bought a clear(white) case and have a white beats back case to go with it....

I've had past success with goo gone. The goo off is the more paint thinner smelling than the goo gone right? I recently took off the Aprolink logo from my hybrid case.
The goo gone is the one that smells like citrus. I use that stuff to take off adhesives from car finishes as well.

Rubber + Hard Case?

Hey guys,
I've been using the Seidio Active case for my Nexus S since I've gotten this phone. I have a Nexus 4 in order and would like to know if there are existing cases for the Nexus 4 that's similar to this design? I've found it to be the best based on what I put my device through and it has served my Nexus S really well.
Seidio currently does not have a case available for the Nexus 4 as it's "under development". Are there any alternatives?
This is what I have now for the Nexus S:

Unfortunately , none that I know of. Only one which comes close is the ionic guardian. It got v.bad reviews bcoz they forgot/neglected to put slot for the speakers in the first revision. Now they have supposedly fixed the issue and re-released it. Not sure about the reviews for those though. [ the new rev, I mean; but at least the cost is v.low ]

Seidio will be making them in a month or so. For now get a Diztronic TPU case.

Which is also under development. And if you want to expand, there are others like trident etc. which are also doing the case.
Every case that offers actual protection is under development right now. If I had to guess, the first of them would have their initial batch out in early January 2013

Damn, this case looks pretty good too, I like the design and it's priced about the same as the Seidio, if it doesn't cost an arm and a leg to ship to Toronto, Canada where I am, I might pick this up.

Guess having a "7 - 8 weeks" delivery date isn't looking too bad now seeing there are no protective cases out there until January at least. For what I do (computer and networking repairs, I crawl through a lot of tight spaces), if I don't properly protect my phone, it'll break (esp. since the Nexus 4 is made of glass doesn't really help lol).
If there are other cases out there that's worth a look, please send them my way.

So now that Ballistic and Seidio are about to release their cases which one would you guys recommend, they're both the same price. Though I'm familiar with Seidio's cases as I have one, any thoughts on the Ballistic case?

My Small review on the Ebay Case
i just got mine on Friday and let me say that the case is awesome! not much corner protection like the Iconic Armor case but the fact that it covers the USB and Headphone jack almost completely is just what i needed so sweat wont try to get in when i'm at the gym! it also has a built in kickstand which is very sturdy since it has support arms for added rigidity and it also clicks in place!! making remember of my OG evo4g days! the red is actually not maroon color like in the photo is most like a... regular red (not too bright, not too dark) the holster has this furry suede like material on the inside to protect your screen if you don't have a screen protector. the only problem i had was that if the holster is clipped to your belt and you get in and out of your car, there is a chance that the holster will separate from the clip... but if you take off the phone and press the holster body against the clip, it will click back together!
overall i give this case a 9/10!! i would of giving it a ten if it offered more protection on the corners but for 12 bucks, i can hardly complain!!

How thick is the phone with the case on? The ridges on the back seem to add 3-5 mm

At least it's environmentally friendly if it's made out of recycled tires ? That's good to see that even thick headphone jacks work with the case, how's the rubber part of the case, does it feel poorly made or is it rather good? Lastly, does it allow enough clearance for a snug connection for the USB cable?
The red looks pretty good. I'm now undecided on colour lol.

This really depends on what you're expecting. The way the case is designed is that you put on the silicon sleeve (thing that smells like burned tires) and then the plastic part wraps around it securing it into place. If you compare the silicon to TPU, you'd think it was garbage. But really, it's just there to soften the blow as the plastic takes impact.
The stock charger fits fine into the phone just fine. USB has standards that define how large the head can be, so I assume anything out there will work. All of the inserts and buttons are covered, so there is a little flap over the bottom of the case to protect the port which can get annoying. Nothing a box cutter can't fix if it annoys you too much though. Volume control and power button are both easy to press over the silicon.
I was considering taking my TPU case and slicing it up a bit to make it fit in to replace the silicon sleeve. This would look pretty awesome in it, but I'll need to slice it up a bit so the plastic outer shell can wrap around it. Worst case scenario is that it's only a little over $3 to replace if things go wrong. As is, the silicon is a little difficult to slide out of the hostler (could be considered a good thing I suppose). TPU should be a little easier with it.
All in all, my TPU case was $3.04. The hybrid case was $9.95. Both combined are about the price of what I paid for my Androidifed case by CruzerLite, and I like both more than the Cruzer one. The Androidifed cases were very disappointing for the N4 IMO.

As long as the silicone is similar to the Seidio case I have, I honestly won't have gripes about it. TPUs are not soft enough to provide good impact absorption I need.
Alright, I'm pretty much sold on the case, still need to decide black or blue lol.

Poll: Spigen Slim Armor vs. Speck Candyshell vs. Otterbox Commuter

Hey guys,
Got a poll up and looking for feedback on what you guys think of these cases. They are all similar to each other in the sense that they have a plastic outer shell with a soft hybrid inner shell. All of them come in white and they range from $25-35 dollars. Personally I'm between the Spigen and Speck but I wanted to throw in the otterbox as another option. If you guys have something else in mind also let me know.
Thanks for the feedback guys,
JD
1) Spigen Slim Armor - $25 (Really love the price and i believe the speak grill is raised to allow for better sound transfer, not 100% sure)
2) Speck Candyshell - $35
3) Otterbox Commuter - $35

Forgot to mention, that they all have rubber at certain points on them so if anyone has used these, how are they with pocket lint?
I'll have a review of the Speck Candyshell up later today. I have both the Candyshell and Candyshell Grip.
Here's my review of the Slim Armor: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2262605
All three are very nice cases. The Otterbox and Candyshell offer the best protection. The lip on the Slim Armor is very low, but the trade off is the case is very slim. Personally, I would get the Candyshell or Slim Armor. The Otterbox is very durable though, and if you need the absolute best protection, get it.

Spigen are #### ing idiots!
They could have easily made the lip a little larger for better front protection but noooooooooooo.
They probably just made the case like that to try and squeeze more money out of customers to buy their screen protectors as well
Spigen doesn't deserve any of our money for this greedy design flaw!
That was disappointing to find that out, i'm probably leaning towards the speck case now.
The Spigen Slim Armor, slim cases look the best. Personally i'm going commando with mine. I just can't put my phone in a case it makes it look worse and i like it look and be thin. It fits my pocket better. But if your a builder or trades working. I good case is a must..

As I mentioned in the other thread you posted this in, it's called the "Slim Armor" for a reason. It isn't meant to be a bulky, full protection case.

And I'll respond to both in kind: If your case has the word "armor" in it... then it should be able to protect the screen from smashing if its dropped
A little bit more lip would have completely taken care of this problem and allowed it to maintain it's slimness.
They definitely won't get a dime from me, as I will be returning mine, and I encourage others to not purchase from them for making so obvious a cash grab design flaw.

Just like Otterbox =/= case made out of otter.

If you aren't going to keep yours, and you're going to get a full refund, why do you continually bash this case?
A design flaw is something that blocks actual function, like some of the HTC One cases that cover the IR blaster/power button. This case was specifically designed to be as thin as possible.
I'm not going to bash the Otterbox Defender because I think it's too bulky, I just won't buy it. Some people want that kind of protection. On the other side, some people want a very low lever of protection.
I just bought the Speck candy shell case at Best Buy as I didn't want to take my new phone to work without any protection. So far I like it. The fit is nice and tight, the rubberised buttons feel good, and the raised lip around the screen allows you to put the phone face down without scratching the glass. I also like the fact that the majority of the case is shiny so it slips into a pocket much more easily than the T-Mo TPU case I have for my original Galaxy S. I'm still going to get one of the Spigen glass screen protectors to go with it, but it'll do without for a couple of days more.
Another plus for Speck is they seem to have some more feminine colours. The Spigen cases are all black + one other colour, which doesn't look right with a white phone in my opinion. The Speck case I bought is white with turquoise and looks pretty sharp. It's also feminine without being pink
Hinduboy, with regard to pocket lint, it's not a total lint magnet like some cases, but it definitely picks up a bit. It seems to be quite attractive to cat fur!

Not difficult at all. It's less flexible than a regular TPU case, but since the front lip is all TPU it comes off pretty easily if you need to get to the battery or SD card.

I did see that they have those cases at BBY but i was hoping they had the white/grey combo they only had the black and white/blue one. I might just end up ordering it through amazon. I've been using the platinum series white plastic case in the mean time.
What about the Spigen Neo Hybrid, Case-Mate Tough, or Incipio DualPro (Regular & Shine Versions)? They are very comparable to the cases mentioned above.

Cases that feel like actual phone

Everyone is stating the phone feels great without a case. What do we do buy cases day 1 and eliminate that feel. I feel I take off my spigen crystal case just to feel the phone daily. At this point just about every case for the note 7 has been purchased.
If your phone with case has a similar feel to to holding your actual phone please post pics and where you bought it from links are welcome.
Remember the phone has to feel like it was naked that's the goal of this thread.
Yes, transparent cases are perfect for our smartphone, more than Note 7!
Im also looking for a case for my Note. I honestly dont even care about drop protection, I just want the absolute thinnest possible, nice looking case to protect it from scratches, thats it.
Bonus points if it has port / hole covers as well as full button coverage.
Bear motion, black. Looks great and as thin as they come with some awesome texture.

Seriously not sure why people don't mention them more, the texture is amazing and if you are into slim cases they fit great.
The Ringke slim case is super thin like the bear motion, but it gives some protection. It covers up to the display and barely makes the phone any bigger at all.
If you guys have the cases please post pics and if you know where to find please post links.

I just took a peek at both the cases I like the ringke slim for all around protection. The curve sides look really nice purchasing one now. This may be what I was looking for.

Hmm. I have a spigen crystal and they look almost identical when you get it take some pics if possible. The problem with my spigen case is it has rigid edges and the grip factor is gone with this case.

sure. I find spigen aren't quite as thin as they imply in reality. I used a ringke on my note 5 and it was just a tad smoother and thinner than spigen.
I have an olixar gel case that really has that barely there feel imo. You need to like/not mind gel material though, it feels good when you hold it (grippy) but I can imagine people thinking it looks to cheap on their fancy phone.
Perhaps this is a bit more look than feel but I think the Obliq Slim Meta cases do a good job. It helps that they copy the color of the phone I suppose

(I also really like the look of the metallic back)

I have always used them too. But their current Note7 case provides ZERO screen protection. If you lay the phone down on its face, it will rest on the glass, not the edges of the case. They are aware of the issue and are considering a re-design. They didn't have much of a choice since the edges of the screen curve down giving them less room to protect the device.

Seen that as a problem also. Not good for these phones.

This was the first case I bought for my Note 7 had one for my S6 Edge + and it was my daily driver, It went on my Note 7 smooth aside from it feeling like it was going to scratch the hell out of my bezel, but loved the fit and it felt great. Didn't like how it mashed and scraped against the buttons because the case has button cutout, and lastly first time i took it off (not easy!) I was sick to my stomach because I thought for sure my bezel was going to be gnarled up (luckily it wasn't, but I feel like over time it would be with this case) and I easily broke the tiny bit of plastic between the volume button cut-out and where the screen begins. So I give this case (unfortunately) a thumbs down. :crying:

CaliCase will be exactly what you're looking for. It will hands down be the thinnest case available when it releases. They're working on it and it's what I'm waiting for. Nothing else comes close.

That stinks you've had problems with the Ringke case. So far I have had zero problems. Nothing has broken, the case hasn't caused any scratches on the back or bezel and I have even dropped the phone twice on concrete with not issues. That being said, this case does not take the shock of the fall like a TPU case so it definitely doesn't protect from falls as well. And while it does have a small lip raised above the screen on the top and bottom, the sides do not have a raised lip, the just come right up to where the bottom of the curved edges on the side are. But yes I can lay the phone face down and the screen does not touch. Maybe we have a slightly different case? Here is the one I am using:

I just received my N7 two hours ago and am now looking for the slimmest case possible. I don't like cases that covers the buttons, I like using the actual phone buttons.
I have this case for my S6E and really wish there was a similar one for the N7, it's the best thing ever since it only snaps to the corners and keeps the phone's edges free:
