[Request][CM9 Port]Archos Gen8 - Miscellaneous Android Development

Archos Gen8 tablets are: http://www.archos.com/products/ta/index.html?country=us&lang=en
Since there are many devices with CM9 port which is working quite well on devices with 600 MHz CPU and 256mb RAM. Gen8 models 101IT and 70IT have 1GHz CPU and 256mb RAM and open bootloader. There is partially working CM7 made by OpenAOS.
Gen8 users will appreciate having a CM9 port to their devices. All we need is good devs to make it happen.

Can Android OS run on Pre Plus

I knew that there was a port on Pre, the Pre Plus has a much faster processor (can be overclocked to 1GHz) and larger memory, Can anyone make Android run on Pre Plus?
I'm pretty sure that once the touchpad is working fully, the devs will consider the pre series of phones

It has the same processor. 600mhz. Overclockable to 1.2GHZ ON both. Pre has 256mb of ram and pre + has 512.

doubt it. the pre and pre plus and even pre 2(afaik) had different hardware than pre3 and touchpad. i believe the old devices used TI omap chips where the new ones use qualcomm snapdragon.
ICS on 256mb ram would not be fun. Gingerbread perhaps
I would prefer to see webOS ported onto one of them fine devices that run Android. Any of them for that matter. The Verizon Droid Pro at least has a physical keyboard and the form factor of the Pixi.
ICS? Never.
Froyo or Gingerbread is more realistic
Pre+ has 512MB RAM and a cortex-A8, plenty of lesser spec devices running ICS fine. Personally, I got it just for webOS but horses for courses and all that.

[Q]Amiga tablet-Root

So there's a new company that owns all the old Amiga patents and they decided to release and android tablet. Now I don't expect it to be a galaxy or a transformer but based on its specs, can anyone help me identify which other device it is most similar to.
I might be tempted to purchase if I knew there were a way to root it.
Thanks for any help

I think this might be the same one. Your link is not working, at least for me.

I would also like to know about this. Thanks!
I love Amiga but they should came with something better than this. It's just Android device with Amiga themed Launcher.

Roms running slow

I am currently loading old school gaming roms on my phone and soon to be tablet. Years ago I had n64 roms and they were laggy, I figured years later they would run without a hitch, not so much.
Here is what I am running.
Verizon Droid RAZR HD
Micro SD (class 4) 32GB
Snapdragon S4 MSM8960
CPU 1.5 GHz dual-core Krait
GPU Adreno 225
Memory 1GB Dual-channel, 500 MHz LPDDR2 RAM
I am running the standard vanilla rom so it's stock with Verizons bloatware, so I now a bit of lag could rest there.
I am looking to buy a cheaper android tablet that will run Ps1/N64 games without a hitch if possible. I guess what I am wondering is what controls ROM's lag, is it the GPU? Memory? Processor? The ROM/Program itself? I am wondering what hardware (if any) runs these without major issues.
Thanks a ton guys, very happy to help join the ranks. If I missed a thread that covers this please point me in the right direction!
Bumb this should be easy...

[Q] SGX544 Overclocking

Greetings, I'm Yank. I'm a young coder which loves to develop and play games.
Last christmas I got an Asus MemoPad HD7. It is a pretty good device for its price. Its chipset is a MTK8125, it has a Quad-core CPU running at 1.2Ghz (Cortex-A7), 1GB Ram and 8GB storage. So, I rooted it and installed the superdragonpt AOSP Rom.
Well, this last days I have been wondering if it is possible to overclock its GPU, PowerVR SGX544. I saw that overclocking Galaxy S4 GPU, PowerVR SGX544MP3, is possible so I thought that it could be possible on the SGX544 too since, the differences between them are the number of cores and its clock speed (At least what I think).
Also, I found that its clock is running at 286Mhz while it should be running at, at least 300Mhz.
So yeah, is it possible to overclock SGX544MP ?
Thanks for reading.
Oh, sorry for my mistake, I didn't knew about the MTK private kernel source thingy
Well, just came to say that ASUS released its kernel source code so yeah...

[Completed] [Q] Best Gaming Tablet?

OK so Pretty soon Im going to be moving to Russia and I would really like to get my new tablet before moving there. It's also going to be an 8 hour flight so yeah I need something that can really keep me entertained with 0 lag etc etc.
And yes, I know you'll be thinking. ''but this guy has all the specs what does he need help with decision making for?'' To answer that, I don't really know what it is that makes a tablet considered to be GREAT! I know the processor, and the ghz and the ram and a few other things have something to do with it but i don't know how they weigh against each other in importance. Rank your answer please
