Hello. All of a sudden my HTC ONE S is getting no data signal. I still get calls and text but when i use the internet (chrome, instagram, facebook), i get connection lost, couldnt refresh feeds, or unable to connect to the internet. Even when im on wifi, its really slow, pages wont load or takes long to load. And its not our wifi connection at home because everyone else phone is fine. Any idea how to fix this without wiping everything? please help. Thanks in advance.
HTC ONE S: Tmobile US.
Have you tried removing and replacing your SIM card?
Do you have trouble downloading stuff from the Google Playstore? It keeps timing out on me. Won't let me down anything until I force stop, disable, and re enable. The bigger issue is that it followed me back to a sense rom and I'm still having trouble downloading.
option 1: contact your carrier and let them give you the access point and mms settings
option 2: root your phone and install a custom rom
option 3: wipe all data (hard reset phone)
Mate you should root your phone to avail ONE S power, most carriers branded roms and phones are limited and crappy.

Hello.
I have a problem with a Touch HD2. Sometimes, when I send a message, it doesn't get sent until I restart / reboot the phone. When I do, all the messages gets sent at the same time.
I had the same problem with a Touch HD some months ago.
Anyone know how to fix this?
Thanks for help.

hmm, interesting one, what is your device currently set to for sending messages, i.e. GSM, GPRS?
Have you recently updated rom, radio or changed ril?
Have you tried running automatic setup again?
Can you provide more info please
Yeah, could be a radio problem or your phone not logging onto local masts.
Try a manual roam,.... Go to your network selection, search for available networks, then pick a network you are not on, ideally a network that uses a diff network frequency band thing. So if your nwtwork uses 900 research one that uses 1800 or vice verser. When you select this 'wrong' network it sould give you some kind of error and you should lose all network coverage. Then re select your correct network.
Try power cycling,... Turn off your phone, remove SIM & Battery, hold power button for 5 - 10 seconds. Then put everything back in and turn on.
Last one,... Go onto internet on handset, load a page you have never been on before that has alot of data on it, amazon or something, while its trying to load the page pull the battery out. Then power cycle as above.
I worked for Vodafone Cust services about 8 yrs ago,.... those 3 things usually sorted network issues.
+1
I have exactly the same problem on my HD2.
It's very occasional, and just a soft reset is necessary and everything's fine again.
I don't know why this happens.
Thanks

Not sure where to post this so I'll do it here:
I have a HTC Desire that was factory loaded with Froyo (Android 2.2). So far it worked fine, with one exception, which is that occasionally the mobiel internet would just die on me and not turn back on whatever I set the settings to. So far the solution was to cold start the phone, which allowed the setting to clear and re-enable mobile internet.
However, this morning I lost it and the restart did not work. I tried removing teh battery for an hour or so, remove the SIM card, none of which helped. I also did a hard reset, clearing the whole phone to factory settings. This also did not work. The mobile Internet is still dead. It's not my provider because my colleagues use the same provider and at the same physical location, with full reception, an dthey do not have this problem. Some have the same phone even, others have a different phone.
I'm not so sure this is a hardware failure because I do have full reception and can send/receive SMS messages and make/receive phone calls. I would imagine a hardware failure would also take out the telephone radio disabling my phoning capabilities. SInce that still works I suspect a firmware issue, maybe a setting in NVM, or NVM corruption.
I wonder if flashing the phone with new firmware would solve the problem. If it is a memory location that is now corrupted to a permanent "off" setting, then reflashing probably won't work, would it?
Any suggestions?
PS, the phone is unbranded
any ideas?
Hi I have htc sensation 4G (tmobile) running on 2.3.4 and I bought it privately (not from shop). From the very first day wifi doesn't work and says "unable to scan for networks). I was able to get wifi at the most for 30 seconds I think. Wifi continuosly swicthed ON/OFF.
As of now this is what tried with out much success:
====================
1) factory reset
2) rooted the device with custom ROM
3) removing the wpa_supplicant.conf file from /data/misc/wifi directory. It gets created automatically
Above didn't resolve the problem and I am not able to connect to wifi.
Any help is much appreciated. I did fair amount of googling already.
Thanks
Yes i get this problem too. and ive tried everything
I replaced the back cover with another one (from some other HTC sensation) and it works flawlessly. back cover has got antennas which might have some loose contact.
I will try this. How did u know u had a loose pin?
I was trying different things. Took radio logs from another working HTC sensation and my phone. I could see signal strength values as 25 for faulty phone and 1 for good phone. So replaced the back cover and I was able to stream youtube video for 10 mins with out any problems.
where do u find the radiologs? thanks... and this is weird when i leave my phone for a while it will connect but when i turn it off i get the 'unable to scan for network error'... hardware? im guessing its a case issue too.
Yes, I have got the same problem. are you guys sure that it's the problem with the case?
I am sort of at a loss. My Surround is losing it's celluar data settings every time I turn it off and boot it back up. The signal bars do no E, or G, or H or anything else. If I am not connected to wifi there is no data at all. Speaking of wi-fi, it also does not maintain most of my saved networks. The only one is does is the one at work.
I first ran into this after Mango RTM upgraded to final. I was having other issues (e.g. music search not working) and blamed it on the upgrade. At the time I WAS able to use the HTC connection setup to configure the cellular data connection. I finally did a complete wipe on it a couple of weeks ago; I flashed back to the original ROM release and let it spend the next couple of hours updating back to Mango. Everything seemed fine but in the last couple of days I have found the problem has returned. To make matters worse, I can't even seem to download the HTC connection setup app anymore.
I have tried multiple soft resets, battery pulls, booting up without the SIM and then booting up with it, etc. Anyone have any ideas on what is causing this and how to fix it? The phone is pretty useless as a smartphone without a data connection.

Try that rom :] You need to do a RSPL / HSPL thing first;
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1195647
I suggest downgrading to a lower firmware and then doing so :] Mine does it from time to time aswell, Usually gets fixed when I--
1; get a call
2; turn wifi on or off
3; airplane mode
But even if it doesnt show the network type, It always works

Thanks. 1, 2, and 3 definitely don't fix it. It might be worth going with the custom ROM just so that it's unlocked and saves me from having to pay for the official unlock down the road sometime. One other thing is that around the same time I started getting some screen wonkiness. I would be trying to type something and the keyboard kept minimizing back to the bottom every few characters. Mainly only affected text messages though.
I decided to call AT&T to see if they might be able to force a refresh of the data settings. Since I've called them before on the problem the guy thinks it best to replace the phone. Guess we'll see what happens. May still do the ROM you suggested once I get it though.
Bleeping bleep bleep phone! Someone in a different thread suggested HTC might be able to help with an issue like this. Only solution they gave was a hard reset so I finally did that on I think it was Thurs or Fri. Everything was dandy at first. Fast forward to today and I notice this evening that my phone had lost it's settings again and once more I can't get them back. I also notice that it ate my saved wifi networks again.
I have the refurb device AT&T sent and I suppose I will go ahead and try to use it. I just hate having to set everything up...again. It's really getting old. Could my SIM card be to blame?
Haha. Going to be attending the local WP Insider Circle thing next week. Maybe I'll get lucky and win a new phone.
Bought a brand new unlocked Moto Defy and I'm having some WiFi and data connection issues...
To start things off, I cannot get any kind of data on this phone. I'm able to make/receive calls and texts with no problem but when it comes to accessing data, it's a total fail. I've added APN's for ATT (ATT MMS, ATT PHONE, AT&T PTA), switched the 2G/3G/auto under Mobile Network Settings, and I just can't seem to get data working. I get data just fine on my At&t Samsung Focus with WP7.
Secondly, I cannot connect to my WiFi router. I've reset the router numerous times, disabled WPA security, tried different security methods, and it just doesn't want to connect. The network occasionally shows up with great signal strength but soon after disappears. I went to the same room as the router and it shows up. When I tap on it to connect, it shows "connecting" and then "disconnected". I also get a WiFi symbol in the upper left hand corner with a question mark over it.
And to top things off, I can't seem to format my WP7 memory card so I can't even install any apk's or ROMs. For some reason, the 2GB card that supposed to come with this phone wasn't even in the box!
Any ideas? Starting to get frustrated, this is my first android phone (3rd android device, first 2 were tablets) so I'm eager to mess with this thing.
Uploading a short video showing the WiFi problem.
Thank you so much!
Also, running 2.2.2
Anyone?

So I've installed Cyanogenmod 7 and was able to get to the band settings but when I select USA Band, it says "Set [USA Band] Unsuccessful.
I found a working bp_nvm_default folder for ATT, replaced original with that, set permissions, and nothing has changed.
I am at a loss of what to do now. And after installing CM7, I have no signal what so ever.
Please!!!! Any ideas?!?!?
