Hello
I am using Moto Atrix SK telecom version (Korea).
I couldn't find exact model of phone from XDA.
Model number is MB 860.
But not sure which model should I use for modification.
Thanks for your help.
You have the Atrix 4G... See the forum here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=994
We are MB/ME865

Please also refer to THIS THREAD. This will explain everything you need to know regarding the differences between Atrix models.

The BEST RESPONSE to this incredibly stupid mess, is to simply refer to the actual model number, which does not resemble the marketing terminology at all. For instance, the ME860 and the MB861 are both Atrix OG models. Notice that a higher model number, aka, ME865 and the MB865 both correspond to the Atrix 2 model (however, there is actually another digit on the end of these model numbers, for most phones, perhaps all phones???,.. so, for instance, my phone is the MB8656, which is an Atrix 2, and is intended to be used on the AT&T network in the United States). The model number varies slightly with the region of the world and carrier though, so even though using the model number is generally more precise and accurate than a marketing "name", even the model numbers can in some cases, be confusing, because even though the model number is technically different, the phones may actually both be the same overall "CATEGORY" of phone (aka, Atrix 2, versus Atrix OG). Above all else, simply remember this much (as mentioned above), that (1) it is better (more precise) to refer to the model number, than the marketing name of the phones, and (2) that the terminal connectors on the physical phones are different between the Atrix 2 and Atrix OG, which means that most accessories which attach to these ports will not fit both models, unless you hack them by physically modifying/cutting/rearranging the casing or connectors.

Rogers also sells the SGH-I727R also known as Galaxy S2 LTE up in Canada.
I don't have AT&T nor is my device called Skyrocket, and this applies to all Canadians who have the device from Rogers.
As such I would suggest to the mods changing the name of the main forum to Galaxy S2 SGH-I727R as opposed to making it associated to a specific carrier and making it easily accessible to Canadian users without confusion.
sorry but no
if you haven't noticed, this forum follows only and mainly phone releases from Europe as in UK, and USA, everything else are just extra, and any model that is the same as the ones released in either region, will just get grouped together.
Your forum, your rules.
I haven't noticed the Europe/UK/USA focus, as I don't look much at forums for devices that I don't have; so please forgive my ignorance on the matter.
I find it unfortunate that the Canadian market has come to be categorized as "extra". As usual we end up being the US underdog and end up being grouped under AT&T instead of having a generic carrier independent name that fits all.
I guess it is all about volume.
i totally agree with you there buddy
So after reading the Engadget review of the One X, I've become intrigued with the differences between the Canadian and AT&T versions of the One X. Searched and didn't see anything referencing this directly. The article says LTE should work fine on both AT&T and Canuck networks.
So, besides saying HTC at the top instead of AT&T and I suppose having Rogers bloatware instead of the usual AT&T crap, is there any other difference?

The moment we have a ROM granting that functionality, I am flashing. I do not live in an LTE area
First world problems....
Also, another difference is the ability to tether freely. Not that I use this feature. However, it would be nice.
I believe the AT&T model lacks the ability of a LTE on/off toggle, tethering and a few optings in the camera like time lapse (I think there might be one othere, not sure though).
I think most things we will be able to rip out of the International model or the Rogers model and cram them into the AT&T version. Also, Im sure custom roms will add all of these features back in.

Is there any PHYSICAL difference to the exterior of the AT&T version? Are the phones identical apart from CPU and software?

Yes, it will, I have a Rogers One X and used the micro sim from the AT&T One X in it. But the trick is getting them to add the LTE data plan to your account. If you already have an AT&T branded LTE device, then you shouldn't have a problem. But good luck getting them to add an LTE data plan to your account if you don't. They insist on using IMEI numbers now to determine which data plans you can add to the account. Your best bet is to borrow or buy a cheap LTE AT&T phone, get your data plan switched to an LTE one, get a micro sim, get them to activate it on your non-micro sim device ,and then switch the micro SIM to your Rogers One X.
It is possible, just a PITA.

The AT&T version of the One X has a snapdragon dual core processor as opposed to the international version that has the Nvidia Tegra quad core processor. This is due to the Tegra processor not being compatible with LTE .http://www.att.com/onex/
Does anyone know if the external measurements of the two One X's are the same?
Thanks guys

I am currently on the Unlimited iPhone Data plan, and they switched me over to the LTE Unlimited Plan with an LTE IMEI. I might buy the One X from Rogers Unlocked.
Thanks for the above info, all I wanted to know if the LTE was working.

Between the LTE ones yes. International and LTE ones are different
Both the Canadian(Rogers) One X and US(AT&T) One X are the Same Device other than the sofware running on it, and the lithographed branding under the glass at the top (one say's htc, the other AT&T printed backwards on the underside of the glass)
Both are the PJ8310000
If there was a variation in the hardware one would have a different digit in this number
like the Telus DHD and Inspire 4G for example
both same device, different housing (for branding) <- why it got the different number
Telus DHD was PD9814000 and the Inspire 4G was PD9812000 (International was PD9810000)
THE CANADIAN AND U.S. ONE X'S ARE THE EXACT SAME DEVICE.
THEY ARE INTERNATIONALLY KNOWN AS THE 'ONE XL'
THE ONLY THING DIFFERENT IS THE SOFTWARE ON IT.
(that includes software customization, rf channel configs, dz data, etc...)

when you guy's get root, you'll be able to swap the services.jar, services.apk and get the same thing for yourselves.
ps: other than the boot/down annimations - being pointed to by ../CID/default.xml, the 'scene' addidion/layout in ../MNS/default.xml (both the customize folder), and carrier apps, the rogers rom is vanilla.
I'm not familiar with the Rogers software. I'm in the US and eyeing a Rogers version, if I were to get one from say Negri, does it have FREE wifi hotspot?
Not in an LTE area

From what I have seen, when you are not in an LTE area the LTE is disabled and doesn't kill your battery. It's still be nice to have a toggle though.
For tether, why not just root and use WiFi Tether?

Hi XDA members n mods and devs! hehe
so I have a really disturbing question and I want to be very2 careful when I buy The HTC one X
my biggest question is how to know if the HOX is AT&T or International version? does it have some kind of logo or something?
second does the AT&T and International version have differences in terms of internal memory?
thanks and please reply quickly? I'm planning to buy this phone next week.^^

AT&T version is dual core, international is quad core. The AT&T version has 16 gigs of storage whereas the international version has 32.
Do you want a AT&T One X in particular or just a Evita from North America?
Rogers, Telus and such all have the same phone but have less restrictions.
Also you could buy an Evita from many places in the world but you need to take care with what LTE frequencies it supports. If you are in NA you should buy a NA phone.

My carrier is US Cellular, but I notice this site has very little for the carrier. They have many of the newest phones, I picked up a note 3 (SM-N900R4) from there a little bit ago, and went to xda to find out what they had. I noticed that there are many threads for the seperate carriers, but not for US Cellular, this didn't affect me too much with my old phone, the mesmerize (SCH-I500), but most of the differences were small and could be overcome by using romkonverter. But I'm sure I'm not the only one getting frustrated with this site's lack of US Cellular support. What I'm asking is why is there so little support for US Cellular? Could I do anything about it?

i guess i would say that us cellular is a a bit more unpopular then Verizon/t-mobile/at&t carriers. its kinda strange that virgin mobile gets some devices on here such as the lg optimus V which is still being sold and is a great phone for such little specs. you could check here http://teamuscellular.com/Forum/forum/259-android-development/ i just recently found out about it

I'm seeing development for the note 3 all over on xda, but the site you linked me to has very little to say about anything related to the note 3. I know there is development going on for the US Cellular note 3 because in the generic note 3 page (no carrier labeled), there is maybe one or two examples of things listing the SM-N900R4 as compatible, but not nearly as much as I would imagine, considering they all use the same hardware. For my mez, the only difference with that and the fascinate were the apns, you could flash kernels and roms for fassy on mez without romkonverter. I don't know what differences are in all the variances, but what I would like to know is, how could I actively get this site more involved with the development US Cellular devices?

probably only developing a rom on your own or with another person. start with Cyanogenmod, always the easiest to me.
So I will begin by saying that I own a SM-j700p, a Samsung j7(j700p) threw the carrier Boost Mobile. I noticed that that some variants come in different sizes, different amount of ram or what not, does this change the model number? Also certain models come from different countries, does this change the model number, or are the wide varieties of model numbers because of different countries different hardware configurations, also coming out at different times. I noticed for instance that certain roms will come out for one model variant but it can also be used for other models aswell. Perhaps I just want to save myself some time and hopefully help others save a bit of time, how many different j7's are there, which ones work together, or shall I say contain the same processor which I'm thinking is the biggest deciding factor in whether or not they work together or not. Ids there a website that contains them all and specs and what not. Thanks
Exactly the question which needed to be asked..
Sorry i cant answer it... except i can say us boost users are few with little in the options area...

Correct, but that must be the current listing. The phone I have I bought at the end of '16 and is the sm-700p variet. This is why it gets so confusing. Perhaps someone or maybe I can if I get a few minutes to make a complete listing of all the j7.
**Edit; From my understanding it is primarily the chipset that makes the difference in whether or not certain roms will work across different variants. Is that true?

yes, the soc is the main difference http://www.gsmarena.com/results.php3?sFreeText=J7&sMakers=9 these are the various J7 models excluding the Perx or 2017, which the specs listed are wrong (it has a Snapdragon 625 soc, not the exynos)
The Galaxy j7 (2017) I have is from AT&T and the chipset is one from MediaTek, the model number is SM-J727A. What model is mine?
Just fell into a trap and thought I'd share to help the next human.
It is common for P2c72 (Chinese variant) to be re-flashed with international firmware (I hear even alibaba did this itself?). When this is done, the phone reports itself as the P2a42 in the Android "About this phone" page. So, when one of these phones comes up for sale somewhere (ebay phone reseller in my case), the seller may take the phone's word for it and list it as a P2a42, but instead it's a P2c72 which may not work with your carrier (different bands).
tl;dr - If you're buying a used P2, have the seller prove it's the correct model number. This can be done in at least two ways:
1. Look at the phone body. The true model number is printed next to the headphone jack.
2. Enter the bootloader (with phone off, volume down + power), select "barcodes" using the volume buttons and then press power to accept. You can see the model in there.
To get the seller to accept a return I had to flash the Chinese firmware back on there using fastboot to "prove" it was the Chinese version... was a whole adventure. Avoid it. Though I did have a funny exchange with the seller, paraphrasing:
Me: Hey this isn't the phone listed in the auction. See here's a picture of the model number on the body. I can't use it on t-mobile.
Them: Nah.
Me: No really here's the bootloader showing c72.
Them: mmmmmmmhhhhh
Me: And here's a screenshot of the Chinese firmware on it.
Them: k send it back.
...3 days later...
Them: (Opens an ebay case against me) Yo! You sent us a chinese phone, we can't refund you it's not what was in the auction!
Me:
There's LTE bands difference? I am using a P2c72 with a P2a42 firmware for over a year now.

Wait, so my p2c72 is still locked with its LTE bands?
72 has a different radio than the 42. The difference is physical - no software will change what the radio can do. It has some overlap with North America. If it works for you, I wouldn't worry about it.
But the battery are interchangeable between the 2 devices, right?
I don't know, sorry. Maybe someone else here does?
