I've been playing around with this emulator last night and must say it is very good. I've been enjoying Klonoa and Mr. Driller a lot.
Is there anyone who knows more about the catalogue for what other games are playable with no knowledge of Japanese?
The emulator works great with Xperia Play but unfortunately there is no way currently to have two profiles of control set up for when the games are portrait rather than landscape. The screen sits with the buttons to the right and the d-pad becomes the action buttons rather than movement, which can be difficult while getting used to a set up in a game.
I've emailed the developer with the suggestion of allowing two profiles that you can switch between in the menu - hopefully some of you will request this too after checking the emulator out.
I also requested Portrait games are flipped if possible so that the dpad and buttons sit to the left of the screen (which I find more playable as your left hand can still control the dpad)
Apart from these small problems which can hopefully be fixed this is a great emulator and is currently free. There are no save states but the games do create save files at normal save points in them so you can save progress the old fashioned way.
The games look great, by far outshining the Game Boy/colour of the time.
I heartily reccomend picking this one up while it is free: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=uk.org.cardboardbox.wonderdroid and if you enjoy it, turning on ads to support development and hopefully get the above, along with savestates, implemented.
I love the Xperia Play for giving us the chance to play systems that we never would have otherwise, and this is about as obscure as you can get as it was a Japan only console!

I actually own two of these, the non color and color version. Found them at a local mom and pop video game store for $30. Bought the Final Fantasy remakes for these for cheap too. Its actually a pretty good little handheld. It would be great to have an awesome emulator for it.
Here is the market link:

Got any game recommendations for someone who can't speak any Japanese?

Anyone been checking this out?

If you look around there are several Final Fantasy games that were in JAP only but have been modded to English. If you look up WonderSwan English there is a list somewhere that details which games were in English/JAP to begin with. And list games that have been fan modded to ENG. I cant remembr the link now, but I will look for it and if/when i find it will post it here.

THANKS
Screenshots? Direct link/QR code? Better description of game, maybe text from market in post?
Come on, be a better marketing agent!

Nuh long detailed descriptions are for sissies. I dont think the qr link works though
Hmm. Why would I download/waste my time to find a link or finding it in the market if I have no idea what it is other than a puzzle game. Give me a reason.
@OP
I would suggest to all game devs to refrain from using the term "my first" when describing your game. It's just not as inviting. I'm not telling you to lie, just don't tell us ^_^ I'm pretty confident it will draw in more crowd.
Not too bad. Simple, but entertaining.
heres a direct link market://details?id=<com.hyperbyte.game3>
some screen shots:
Any suggestions on how I could improve it?
needs better tile graphics and fullscreen(no notification bar). Work on presentation now that you have your core gameplay concept.
"Stops unexpectedly" on my Samsung Vibrant (stock 2.2), and I have to Force Close.
yeah Im working on fixing that. was the force close from rotating the phone?
I am currently working on adding new themes, difficulty levels and bug fixes, so stay tuned!
Feels like a fancy minesweeper, needs better graphics.
I would like some sort of chat bot providing some colorful commentary like "are you sure? " "not bad" "you are not getting closer " and that sort of stuff (with SHUT UP! Command of course) give it more personality
Game itself... mechanics is okay but needs feint or other cloud scoreboard support. Right now everything is random so no comparison.
Another idea is play aids, like helpful circles or borders to narrow down suspect squares. However you get penalty factor if you use them. So you cannot get high score unless you turn them off.

[GAME][2.1+] SliBlo 1.1

Hi reader,
Yesterday I published a game called SliBlo on the android market Since I am a beginning, non-professional programmer I thought it to be a good place to start here and ask for your opinion of the game.
This is the game: SliBlo is short for Sliding Blocks. You have to eliminate all the blocks in the game and have to do this in fewest amount of clicks. All blocks connected to you choose one will disappear if they carry a similar symbol. To make sure you dont waist any clicks, you can slide the blocks! Simply turn the device and the blocks will fall down like they would in a real box in your hand. Use a strategic combination of clicking and rotating to get a nice high score.
Features:
- tutorial
- 4 levels (inc tutorial)
- adapable themes
- statistics bookkeeping (how many degrees you have turned your device, scores etc)
- help page
Will you download SliBlo, give a opinion so that I can improve the game even more and you have a game on your phone that can be played especially when you are board or waiting .
I publish games so that other people can enjoy them, Iam not a professional and work alone, so I problebly my game can not compete with those in the market that are in the top10(0)! But I may dream about it

Hello, fellow, who is too working alone and dreaming that one day he could maybe compete with the big fish of the market
You game looks amazing, plays amazing and you're, probably, amazing too Really, while it is quite simple, it does look pretty good and works well. And there's something neat about sound of wooden blocks falling on each other. So relaxing.
One thing I've noticed, that the quality of menu letters (Samsung Galaxy Tab 7) and letters of level results is quite bad. If you're using Paint to draw latter ones you should use setAntiAlias to make them smoother.
Good luck!
I didn't enable setAntiAlias indeed! going to put in and publish it with the next update.
Thanks for looking at my app, most often it are these little things that can improve an app

I play LoL a lot and I was delighted to hear that I could play something similar while on the go. However, I was very disappointed, isn't anything like LoL. How the hell do you expect us to control 3 heroes at the same time?!?
This is a good games, maybe its campaign mode need us to control 3 heroes at same times, but not for multiplayer.
Let see how the multiplayer match work. Hope it not just online, but via local wifi too
I'll try this out, if it'd be kinda cool if riot just made mobile platforms. Like a queue for PC and a queue for mobile players. But if you wanted to you can queue up with your PC buddy for bot matches and what not.
UP
Isnt xplay optimized, however i'll give it a try

Yeah, i always think about it =D
Just to share my experiences, I downloaded this a while back and was not impressed. The controls (touch controls as others have pointed out) were not nearly responsive enough, the game ran poorly and was very choppy and it really pushes a rough freemium model for a single-player game IMO.

[GAME][2.1+]Spray The Wall 3D

Hello everyone.
I want to introduce my second "big" production (as for one person game developing studio ).
The idea of this game was born in my head long time ago. I wanted to write game based on a painting with spray.
There are in market applications with similar concept, but they are graphics programs. I wanted to do something
that is a game and works in 3D, and there its is: game and simple graphical application in one.
Your task in this game is to paint graffiti (in 3D room) as close as possible to given template.
Feel free to play and to rate it.
I count for some opinion on what device it worked or not worked (I have only 3 devices for tests )
Unfortunately I am to low level to post links
Here is link to market in "plain" text

Thanks ! glad to hear that!
I don't want to make first post too long, thats why I didn't write any technical info.
But if someone want to know - this game works on jPCT engine, but I had to do some workoround with texture loading since it was to slow for my needs. The game default try to run on OpenGL ES 2.0 but if it detects no apropriate version it will switch off light effects and fall back to OGL 1.x. If it works to slow on your device (with GL 2.0) you can try to switch it to OGL1.x in options menu.
my little sister likes it) thanks)
working good on galaxy s2 and is a pleasure to play hope you will continue to support this app
very nice .
@zbych3D super gierka zbychu pozdrowienia od Rodaka .
I have changed startup code a bit so it should increase compatibility. If someone has "gray textures" then can try to switch off bump mapping in game option it can help in some cases but it will disable graphics effects too :|

I recently found this free, optimised game, for the Play. Your quest is to dig deeper and deeper underground, digging out gems and bringing them back to the surface to make money. At the bottom of each mine (level) is a super gem- when you collect that and bring it to the surface, you move on to the next mine.
I tried it last night and ended up playing for over an hour! It's very good and well worth a download for free.
It's great to see more and more developers are considering optimisation as a must when it comes to developing.
Maybe we can share our impressions of the game in this thread?
So,where is the download link? or GP link?

Looks like a copycat of the old 1984 game, Boulder Dash. Your a robot who goes through digging to find gold and jewels.
Its not a boulder dash clone
I'm sorry for forgetting the link guys I posted the thread in work earlier!

It looks a lot like Gem Miner. Though this is free, it might be worth checking out.
Gem Miner
As you mine the metals and bring them to the surface you earn money that can be used for upgrades to stay in the mine longer and carry more ladders and girders
