Please users, tell me which phone is better. I wanna buy one of these 2 phones.
I wanna use it mainly for graphics, apps to sd, root, custom roms, and games. Emulators too. Also can someone confirm how is psx4droid, n64oid and nds4droid working?
I documented myself and found that lg optimus one has 2.3, bigger screen, but 600 mhz, and optimus me has 800 mhz.
Plz respond quickly, the offer ends tomorrow, and i'm gonna buy it tomorrow night!
Definetly Optimus One. I didn't find anything about Me CPU, but I storngly believe that it is the same 600 mHz. also Optimus One still does not have oficial 2.3 upgrade, but there ar some custom ROMs. I recommend you Optimus One form these two phones
Get a LG O1,its just great...
Been using it for about a month now running on CM7 overclocked to 768 Max and 600 Min.
Runs like heaven..Plus u got lots of custom roms to choose from...
Comparison
Hi there, I'd like to ask the same Q... What's their processor speed, do they support multitouch, etc.
Which one has a better res. screen, what are your experiences...?
I'd just like to know since there isn't a very decent comparison on the internet...

almost had heartattack reading topic name :S
we dont have 2.3.3, and you are dreaming about 4.0?
Well let me read the cards...errrr
Some one is flying high. Anyways I can't see why not with a little magic of the dev community.

i'm shire it will come also for o3d by lg or through the great developers in this forum.
but why do you what it already? maybe it's crap? i doubt it but maybe....
and one of the golden rules:
be patient, good things need their time
I wouldn't be surprised if 4.0 won't run on this phone due to the ram, even if it does its going to be well into next year before we get it, I would be surprised if we have it for next summer judging how far behind LG are now, this phone and the Optimus X2 should have launched with Gingerbread.
if cyanogen support this device, there will be 4.0 for us
the already support this device

True but all the S3D core code it open to the devs thanks to TI as I understand it.
Also it's not even sure it's called 4.0, they haven't set a version number have they? and the number is just a indicator, the jump from 2.3 will be stuff like optimization in the system for dual core, and people still talking about too little RAM is just poppycock.
Most likely performance for the O3D will be better with Ice Cream Sandwich, might even beat all other phones as it's (so far) the only one with dual RAM and dual Channels which keeps the dual-core CPU from being bottlenecked by the rest of the system.
I have to admit, this talk of "ooooh it might not run version xx.yy of Android" or "ooooh what if the new uber fantastic app doesn't work because it ONLY has 512MB RAM" makes me laugh.
Why? Well lets look at what the problems have been in the past:
OS Partition is too small:
This was a problem when the OS was written to fit inside the small flash built-in to the CPU package. As the OS has gotten bigger this had to be solved one way or another. I'm not sure of the specifics, but I think its enough to say this is solved now.
Not enough RAM:
Fitting an advanced OS into 64MB or even 256MB of RAM is tricky, especially when the core OS is based on code from PCs with a lot more RAM than that and the luxury of a swap partition.
However 512MB was the turning point on PC where RAM became less of an issue and in the right configuration you could live without swap. So logically this should hold true, probably moreso, for Android. Because Android until recently was already running in 128MB/256MB without the advantage of swap space.
No Drivers:
Many are open source, we are also working with hardware a lot more standardised than it once was.
I can see from a glance that there are a lot of similarities between my N900 at the hardware level and the O3D. If you are dealing with devices that are basically upgrades of old hardware designs, drivers are a lot easier to deal with - especially if they are open source.
Lack of GPU or certain CPU instructions:
Many older devices could not handle newer Android because they lacked a proper GPU or the CPU did not have the right instructions. This is similar to what happened on PC for a while, when multimedia suddenly became big. Like on the PC once all these multimedia instructions became commonplace it was no longer really an issue. I believe we are at the same place now with high-end Android hardware.
So I really would be surprised to find a newer version of Android outright not be able to run on the O3D, for quite some time.

What really weird is Rockstar did a port of GTA III for PSP, wich has a 333 MHz CPU and now it needs a 1GHz dual CPU for porting it to Android?

The release date is supposed to be December 15, 2011. See here: http://www.rockstargames.com/newswi...year-anniversary-edition-coming-to-mobil.html.
Hope they port it for Mid range devices
Bought it for my Live with Walkman, and have to say that gameplay is quit good, overall performance is nice, but sometimes game a bit laggy, I think that is too low memory.
I'm having problems with the game. After downloading the additional gamefiles (approx. 450MB) and pressing next, it just transfers to a black screen. Nothing's happening, tried leaving the screen on for a few minutes, but still nothing. Anyone else having similar problems?
Running SGS II (international version) on CM7 nightlies #115. I know the latest one is #116 but #115 is much more stable. Though I'll try updating to see if it works.
Runs on my Optimus ONE (V, armv6). It has no sound during gameplay, and is sluggish.
But it runs, which surprised me.
Hi,
i have no problems on SGS2 (CheckRom+Siyah) and Desire HD (ICS Beta 7).

So, ive got my hands on the longly waited GTAIII, and guess what!? It lags.

@xsteven77x a tegra 2 phone.
@Retrolock GTAIII is made avalaible exclusivlely for HTC Rezound, LG Optimus 2x, Motorola Atrix 4G, Motorola Droid X2, Motorola Photon 4G, Samsung Galaxy R, T-Mobile G2x, Acer Iconia, Asus Eee Pad Transformer, Dell Streak 7, LG Optimus Pad, Motorola Xoom, Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 and 10.1, Sony Tablet S şi Toshiba Thrive. but it seems it works on other snapdragon devices well, but not optimized as tegra2.
Running on HyperSensation.
I bought it.
Indeed, it's not always super smooth, really playable, but not really smooth.
But my first question is:
I bought it from the market (about 3.80 euros, no way I would have waited!!!), and immediatly used CF3D to set Nvidia plugin.
Now I've read that it can be played on the Sensation without using Chainfire3D
But the fact is that if I don't use CF3D, it just doesn't start for me, goes back to home screen, or sometimes freezes my Sensation
I'm using ARHD 3.6.8 (so sense 3.0 base)
Are you guys running it with or without CF3D ????
If you don't use CF3D, I wonder why I can't get it running without it ....(or the "fix market" function of CF3D made me dowload a Tegra2-only version from the market???? Maybe I should try to remove CF3D, GTA3, then get the game again from the market without CF3D installed??)
I wish i could pay with paypal in the market. I don't have a cc..

I cant manage to get this game working, got stuck while loading new game
EDIT: Reinstalling the game and downloading the data again did the trick .. now playing
You know what's funny? It works on the the Rezound, but no other device with the same CPU/GPU (Sensation, Amaze, T-Mobile GS2, etc). That's really silly.
Not only am I having a ton of trouble even finding this one, once I finally did it dls everything then just crashes. Then why I try to open it again screen just flashes black quickly then returns...

It runs fine. But not smooth. There is a lag.
For me the game run good but there is a lot of fps drops.
If you want to see what's real smooth, check gta 3 on ios, especially ipad 2.

This one says it's compatable with the Sensation? There's a few versions on the market, just like NFS etc
How are you guys able to download this? It says incompatible with my device, and I have a Sensation.
What specific values need to be edited in build.prop to download this?

I would bet it will work if you use CF3D and Nvidia plugin, because "flashing black quickly then returns" is what it does for me if I don't use CF3D

I think you're right, and I also think having CF3D on my device + the "fix market" function of CF3D made me download the Tegra2 version (I see only one version on the market), that would explain I can't play it without using CF3D
Even is it is about as smooth as the video above (once textures reduced to 16 bits, and if I let to 32bits, the image is darker than the video above, and it's less smooth), I'm going to try removing CF3D completly then download the game again, to see if I can play it without CF3D
I have no lag what so Ever! Some hick ups bit i assume it is the game loading, like playing ingame videos.

Im running Hypersensation, kernel provided with the rom, clocked at 1.2ghz, ondemand profile.
GTA 3 plays even better than it did on the PS2! No lag, no slow down. Happy days!
Also, reference the tegra 2 versions, im running the same version that is on my sensation on my advent vega, Vegacomb also clocked at 1.2, even better cos its on a 10.1 screen!
This weekend, my mother in law purchased a used Acer Iconia A100 from her son. She asked me to give her a crash course on it.
So I'm looking, at it, not bad. I'm like this thing has ICS 4.0.3... Cool... I decided to look at the specs... Yep, it has the Tegra 2... I'm telling myself there is no way this thing works in the video camera... Well, shockingly it works perfectly!
So why in hell does the Acer Iconia A100 vid cam works with ICS and not our phones? I verified the Acer site and they only have Honeycomb in terms of OS. So I guess my bro in law updated it himself but what I'm really pissed off at is why the video camera works like a charm on his...
WTF?

That table got an official ICS update last April:
http://www.androidpolice.com/2012/0...rly-to-some-lucky-users-download-link-inside/
Which puts LG to shame regarding its lack of ICS updates for existing devices.
OK must of been Acer Canada that's behind in their updates!
But with that said... That means the basic drivers and code are probably available for the Tegra 2 for ICS if Acer was able to get it running... Sorry, far from being any type of programmer but do we really LG to do anything here or can any Dev pic off some code from the ROM on the Acer and work some magic.
NVIDIA just supplies the chip, the Tegra 2. It's up to the phone manufacturer to design the phone with a chipset and software. Every phone manufacturer is different so they must write different drivers.
The phone manufacturer is responsible for the drivers. It's not NVIDIA, it's up to LG and Acer to provide drivers for their chipset. Understand?

NVIDIA provides full-featured drivers for their SOC which the original equipment manufacturers (OEM) apply to their devices. The OEM enables/disables various driver features and tests their operation. If bugs/problems are revealed with the drivers, the OEM consults with NVIDIA which may cause NVIDIA to generate another driver. It is an iterative process. Even the latest NVIDIA driver for ICS for the Tegra2 AP20H has known bugs. I think the NVIDIA driver problems is what's partly to blame for the delayed release of ICS for phones with that SOC.
Just a reminder that people are forgetting that the Tegra 2 in our phones is a completely different chip than a Tegra 2 elsewhere. Numerous phones have ICS with a Tegra 2 chip working fine, but those are not ones that use the same chip as ours.
Thanks for that clarification guys! Makes more sense now! :good:
Well sucks for LG then because this doesn't really encourage me to purchase another LG device in the future.
