What did this do, anyway? I've heard people thought it was the reason dynamic linking of apps to things like YouTube links don't work, but I got that working without removing this.

NRGZ28 said it's needed to restore the link functionality in his rom (click video link in a message to open you tube, click address to open maps, etc). I got it working without this in a different Rom but not in energy Rom, so I figured I'd mess with it.

Tried that before, didn't work. That's why I figured I'd try the .apk and see if it helps. I'm actually using TrickDroid right now which has the functionality restored, but if/when I go back to Energy I'll give it a whirl.

Well I am happy to say that I am really glad XDA exists. I would be lost without you guys. Every time I try to flash clockwork, it says, error downloading make sure you have a stable internet connection to load the servers. I have reinstalled and same crap.
Is it possible its the root?

It's not the root. I think someone mentioned the server may be down. The update.zip has been posted in several threads. Go to the q&a section and there should be a thread similar to this and has it posted as an attachment.

Try "Fix Permissions." that's what fixed it for me.
Happened to me last night... shortly after that my phone got hosed

News just hit that we are now able to get Hulu Plus on the Evo. Wonderful! Or so I thought. I haven't been able to get it to work. Force closed, rebooted, nothing seems to work. Any ideas on what could be wrong? And does anybody else seem to have this problem?

What rom are you on? I hate when people say something isn't working but they don't include what rom or kernel or anything just "this isn't working, please help".....

If you're talking about it saying that you're having network issues, you might try to revert the host file in AdFree........I was having that issue but I revert the ad blocking host file and BOOM, it works 110%

To go to the app and hit the button that says Revert which is right under Download & Install Hosts......
I had downloaded adfree a while ago, but it didn't work, so I uninstalled it. I just now reinstalled it to revert it, but it still isn't working even after reboot. Any other ideas?

How to install:

Download the zip from here, unzip the folder and copy all three files (com.hulu.plus-20110723-192253.properties, com.hulu.plus-20110723-192253.tar.gz, com.hulu.plus-bcc9ed16094d067c4c1f3ceb8851f886.apk.gz) into your Titanium Backup folder on your SDcard. Once all three files have been copied start up Titanium Backup and make sure you refresh your app list in case it was running in the background. Go to backup / restore and look for the Hulu Plus 1.0.116 app and click on restore -> App+Data. Once you have installed do not open, let it go back to Titanium Backup to finish copying over the data. Once complete you can exit TB and start running Hulu Plus.

Problem : I am getting a Buffering.....it appears you are having network issues.
Fix: Check to make sure you do not have AdFree running, if you do turn it off and see if that fixes the problem

Problem : If you are running a ROM that already comes with AdFree you will get the buffering issue.
Fix : Reinstall AdFree and then disable and it should work fine (Confirmed working with Android Revolution)

The apk works to browse, but you'll get an unsupported device message as soon as it boots. Nobody has cared enough to modify build.prop or the apk itself (which I don't encourage) since it came out.
You need to use titainium back and restore this app with its data then log in to your account and you should be good to go, it came from the Droid inc 2 forums, unzip and put into the titainium back up folder after you have installed titainium backup and gave it root permissions

I've restored it on just about every Rom on this forum, run the batch that says restore all apps with data make sure the app+data bubble is selected for just the hulu plus apk and it should work oh and make sure all three files in the zip are in the titainium folder but not in its own folder

Edit: it works with AdFree off (aka "reverted").

What recovery are you using? I'm not sure they are signed zips so check to see if signiture verification is on.

You can dictate text messages, tell it to play any artist or song from your music collection, ask it the whether, to search stuff for you. I like the voice activated music more than anything for driving.

Saying GOOGLE has worked for me in the past. You have to have hot word detection turned on in the settings. I have not used it recently, but it is definitely a sweet app.

OK I'm having a problem with my Samsung infuse 4G. I just put ice cream sandwich on my phone and ever since some apps are now incompatible with my device that were compatible so is this something I can fix or is this something I just have to deal with. Depends on the app.. I know a lot that didn't update from GB. Flash is a big one of the top of my head. If you have a TB backup you could try to restore it that way.

Yeah I'm not sure I read alot of posts talking about editing the build.prop file to trick the market and I followed the instructions and it still didn't work. Also read a few posts about it being a problem with the LCD density tried changing the settings and still incompatible apps in the market.

I just encountered another problem I'm able to send and receive SMS messages but I can't send or receive MMS messages I'm starting to think that this whole rooting the phone and custom roms isn't worth it unless I can resolve these issues. What apps are causing issues. I know the first time I went to ICS I had to adjust my APN settings. With the amount of people running ICS and JB without issue I'm sure we can help you through it.

Practically everything, except a select few like hdmi and 720p video recording.
4.2.1 is still missing a few options that need to be merged, but its quickly making progress.
I just got the latest 4.2.1 and everything works like a charm so far... Love it!
