Hello xda-community.
After releasing my first icon-pack for MIUI 2 weeks ago. I want to show you my newest creation...
ZUZZLE
...a HOLO-Themed logic/puzzle game for everyone. It's quite challenging even if the game-princip is very easy!
But enough words...

Here's the market description:
Zuzzle is a revolutionary new puzzle and logic-game for your Android smartphone.
It combines the fun and competing parts of many different games. The idea is easy, but are you able to clear the game-field even with the most difficult gamemode?
The game is perfect for short breaks or even longer time periods. It has a simple autosave
function so you can always exit/start the game without loosing your previous gamefield.
Functions of Zuzzle:
- Intuitiv UI
- It combines all new ICS-Stuff even for PRE-ICS devices
- Great user experience
- Different designs
- - Love black, or are you a lover of light themes? No problem!
- - The gamefield can be set to 13 different color-schemes
- Fast. The game was tested on older devices. It's fast!
- Many different settings
- Many different gamemodes so it will never get boring
- - Tried all different gamemoes? You can create your own too!
There is much more, but find it out yourself!

I love number puzzles and I'm playing it, but don't really have a clue what the goal is. I know I'm supposed to clear the board, and the help gives some examples, but I don't fully understand the rules behind the examples. I get the "same values" one, but it seems to only accept those totaling 10 if we are adding, even though something in the help seemed to suggest multiplication to me (the reference to 2X 2 and 8"). It would be nice if there was some animated tutorial that walked you though a simple game play showing the goals and how to accomplish them - particularly in relation to tiles that are not immediately adjacent to each other. Some of the diagonal pairs were just guesses on my part.
Also, when I finished, it said "This is your1. game." Needs some grammatical and punctuation help there. And it would be nice if you explained what "useful features" one would get for logging into SWARM.

Hey.
Thanks for your comment.
I tried to put as much as possible in the sample-image but yeah a animated tutorial would be better for the user, you are right. It's still very difficult to great such a tutorial.
The goal is to clear the field right. You can combine fields with the same number or numbers with a total of 10 like 2 + 8, 4 + 6. I think that you haven't seen one part of the info-example. You can combine two numbers over multiple lines if there is no field in-between like this example:
1 4 5 6 _ 2 _
_ 2 _ _ _ _ _
Here you can combine the 2 and 2, because the second 2 is the next neighbor of the first 2 (you read from left to right) It's quite difficult to describe this.
But thanks for the above idea. I think i'll add the option to multiply 2x5 to get 10. (Not for classic gamemode but for the mega gamemode)
I'll add the space to this popup. I thought i did it already but it seems i forgot it...
SWARM is like scoreloop and openfeint. It adds online-leaderboards and friendlists. So you can save other Zuzzle players as your friend and see their scores and so on. It also features a chat so you can write with other SWARM users (your friends) during playing a SWARM enabled game. Main feature are the online-leaderboards.
I hope i was able to answer all your thoughts

Downloaded and been playing for an hour or so. Lots of customizable options. Tried to upgrade in-game but it linked me to the free version. Nice game, reminds me of that 7s game that I forget the name of.

Whoo have played this for an hour now and man.. this is addicting!
At first it is a bit hard to see all possible combinations, but after you get into it, you suddenly see how many possibilities a certain board position can have
Constantly planning on how to fix your earlier mistakes at the top of the board. This will definitely keep me busy for a while

Great idea. .
I'll add auto-save if the games goes into pause -> Other application gets in front or you click the home button.
(I think i'll add a toggle button for this, because it will take some battery to save it each time the app gets into the background. (not much but yeah a little little little bit))
I've updated all libraries today and added new options to the custom gamemode. I'll add your request and you can expect a update today or tomorrow
Oh and feel free to share this on facebook and everywhere you can xD

[GAME] Frame It!

Hello everyone!
I've just finished with my thesis, which is my very first Android game called Frame It!
This is an addictive logic game mainly developed for children but everybody will have fun with playing with it.
The main goal is to swap the original blocks by selecting areas which have the same color in all corners! In the first levels there are only two colors and fewer blocks but moving forward in the game you will really need to pay attention to solve the whole table.
Lots of devices are supported!
I've used AndEngine, which is a great tool to create 2D games for Android!

pointing issues
Anyone having issues with pointing to objects in the screen? I'm referring to not being able to select the desired blocks or menu items/buttons?
Hi,
Installed it last night, looks like fun and visuals are good also. So its a very good start.
Level 4 i got the problem you described. I can hear the sound when I select something, yet the interface seems to crash. Phone got stuck so I had to reboot.
Let me know if I can help.
Android 2.2 btw

One more suggestion; in game rule 3, remove: if you need to. This made me wonder if I shouldn't, and it makes the sentence less strong.

Hi guys!
I found that bad guy causing the unexpected stop when loading second rule. It's been already fixed.
Another performance issue is being fixed right by implementing an 'object pool' for reusing images. It should increase game performance.
An update on Android Market is expected in a couple hours!
Thank you again for your help and feedback! It really helps!
Cheers,
Atis

Desire-nél is FC, ha a 2. oldalra lapoznék a szabályok között. RCMixHD 3.5 ROM.
Egyelőre viszont nagyon tetszik!
Sorry I'm hungarian too.
Those of you guys having problems going through the game rules just turn off the sounds by clicking on the small speaker in the main screen! That will solve the problem temporarily. An update is coming to Android Market in the following minutes!!
Lately all the links have been adding an http: before the links that i click from the xda app in the forums, resulting in this....
Although its an easy fix on my part, is it the way the link is posted, or the xda app? Just curious.. my wife couldn't figure it out. (Sigh)
Great job on thesis...

[GAME][2.2+] Super TTT, Tic Tac Toe Like You've Never Seen Before

Hey guys, I recently had the pleasure of working on this project and we're finally able to show to the public what we've been creating.
Super Tic Tac Toe is a new spin on the traditional tic tac toe game. Two players compete for victory over a large tic tac toe board comprised of nine smaller tic tac toe board. Each move a player makes dictates where an opponent may place theirs.

Things to note:
* Application is ad supported.
* READ_PHONE_STATE is required to send push notifications to you about game activity. Push notifications can be disabled in the settings menu.
Update: June 30, 2012
* Application no longer requires COARSE_NETWORK_LOCATION
* Miscellaneous bug fixes based on user submitted force close errors.
* You can tell you're playing a Canny developer or street team member if their is a Canny fox adjacent to their name during game play. If the fox has an eye patch, you're playing a developer.

Thanks for your contribution .
So I am not sure if this is how it is supposed to work, or if it is an ice issue. I choose where I want to put the x, then hit play. The pay button then goes back to being red and I have to choose another x until I find a board that doesn't say "invalid board". Then I hit play again and I get a message about "call failed..." This message is about 8-10 lines long, I will try to take a screenshot the next time I play. It still sends the game to the next person to play, but the error is weird seems like it shouldn't be there.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk
There's quite the bad bug: Sometimes when I set my mark and press Play it doesn't accept it and I can set another one. But then both marks do stay! So I actually set 2 or 3 marks in one turn!!
It's not that easy to repoduce, appears to happen pretty much randomly. All I do is 1. set my mark, 2. press play, 3. it's still my turn somehow so I mark another box (in the same field), 4. press play again, 5. now it does get accepted but both marks are set.
on the attached screenshot notice how O has 9 but X has only 6 marks

Hey Keylan,
Thanks for bringing this to our attention. This is happening due to our ad network not having advertisements to fill that request, we've added code to detect a non-fill, as well as added in AdMob to the rotation. Will be resolved in the next update.

We've run into this behavior recently and have been trying to reproduce it, if you can send anything further via PM, that would be so great! Thanks for the great feedback!
I don't have time to try it right now but is it meant to be played on one phone? If that's the case it would be awesome to have a bluetooth support also.

Hey mikpel,
Sorry no, this is a multiplayer (and multidevice) game. We've had several requests for a version that is playable only on one phone, we will definitely let you know if we decide to go down that avenue.
Thanks for the feedback, I hope you still give it a spin!
I just want to thank you all again for the awesome feedback!
We just pushed out an update yesterday that addresses some of the force close issues. Push notifications should be working again as well. The application no longer requires the COARSE_NETWORK_LOCATION permission as we've changed a few things with our ad provider.
You can now know you're playing against a Canny developer or street team member if there is a Canny fox (with eye patch for developers) present next to their name in game.
Please let us know how we can continue to improve your gaming experience.
Thanks again!

Our game is built from scratch, as we thought most of the offerings in frameworks are kind of bloated for the type of game this is. We do use StackMob as our backend/platform, though. I used Adobe After Effects for the video, and the music was provided by a friend, The Fat's Sabobah. I had an employee dub the music track over the video when I was done, not sure what software was used for that step. Great questions, thanks!
I was one of the first few to see this game on reddit and I've been hooked. I've even had the chance to play 3 of the devs, including nuri. Don't play them. They cheat like crazy. Or I just suck. !
Seriously though it's a nice little game that takes some strategy. Very basic ui/appearance so far but I'm sure it will get better with time.

I don't cheat, gootz cheats! (Just kidding, he's just so good it seems like he cheats sometimes, but that's just him messing with your head.)
Seriously though, if you're up for a challenge and don't want to play a Canny developer or street team member, play jirafabo, he got a grasp on the idea of the game real fast and is definitely one of our top players right now.
(And thanks for the kudos jirafabo, I'm so glad you are enjoying the game.)
is it by intention that the strategy map isn't stored? as soon as i leave it, either using the back button or "return" it's gone and no way to access it again. kinda makes it useless.

Yes the strategy map, by design, does not save currently. Saving, and perhaps autoplay, are planned to be part of the pro version.
While admittedly not saving limits its current use, many users have found it helpful when trying to think 10+ moves into the future. It is nice to be able to physically map the first 6, thus easing the mental strain.
Thank you for your feedback!
yeah, it is nice for planning. But the main use for a plan is that you can look at it later and see what the next step should be and that's missing.
I might make big plans but then I can't remember them and just make a move instead of my great plan I had laid out before :-(

great game
it stutters on my gnex when the advertisement changes
what have used for create it ?
cool game!
Doesn't work in Htc One S. The image of the game is too big and I can`t choose user and password. Tested on Xperia Ray and it worked flawlessly. Maybe its a qHD resolution problem in the game.

Same here, qHD seems to be not supported. It's a shame because this game looks really promising.
1st why do we have to register to play ?
2nd would be nice to have a score
3rd my sheep is terminator first I started jumping then I noticed that he could destroy block on his way ...
[edit] it seems that after register the game start without the hud that why I was asking for a score, when you loose the sheep keep running but the score stops.
Hmm.
On my HOX (latest Firmware, stock ROM) the game starts. But as I try to register and begin to type my username I have no chances on getting to the next input box because HTC has removed the "hide keyboard" button...
Any chance to put kind of a "next-button" next to the input boxes ?

Hey there! I used the Starling Framework on Adobe AIR. This way I may soon release to the Apple App store without drastic modifications to the code.

Loving the graphics
hey, awesome game ive been playing it for an hour maybe more lol :good:
just thought id give feedback. the game seems to make my phone run very hott and uses alot of power, idk if it should but i do have games that are more graphic/cpu intensive and those don't get that bad
there's also a small stutter that happens every so often (Using a Htc Rezound btw)
EDIT: The game continues to run at 15% after rebooting. ive rebooted a few times and it still runs by its self
Please fix this
(RESOLVED)

Wow thanks! Yes I understand that it's cpu intensive. I'm trying to find a way to fix the problem. It's not actually the graphics causing it, as they are simple, but it's the collision detection for the boxes. I have optimized the code a lot already, but I must try and get another way.
And the frame stutter is during every advert change. Also working on this.
Thank you very much for your input

[GAME][2.2+] Mr. Dandelion's Adventures [Final Release]

I have released my first Android game Mr. Dandelion's Adventures. It's still work in progress - I am a hobbyist and the purpose of this game is to learn more than anything else. It's a simple platformer/physics/causal game where you use wind to fly a stylized dandelion seed around.

And this is how the first concept art looked like (notice my art skills!):
I have already received good and honest reviews from people on the internet, and that was the reason for all the updates I have already released (current version is 1.8.1). I think it made the game less boring and therefore I'd appreciate more of the honest feedback!
The game is using AndEngine for 2D graphics, other than that I used Facebook SDK and that's all.
Blog entry: I started three months with knowledge of Java programming, other than that I had nothing. I wanted to do everything by myself, so I learned basics of illustration, animation, sound processing. I have found tons of useful resources on the web (music, sounds) licensed as CC-BY or CC-0 which helped me a lot. I worked on the game on weekends and sometimes after work - I still have my full time job and I don't really think I can go full time Indie If anyone wants to know how I did this or that, let me know!
I have also started a thread on this forum, where I offer to place your app/game banner in my game, details: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2397974

I've begun works on the winter season. I will be posting articles about stuff that I am adding [URL="http://android.kul.is/search/label/project"on my website[/URL]
I highly recommend this game to everyone! I've had a chance to play it for over a week now!
This game is a blast, and freaking hard too! We wrote about it at Android Assault.
Anyone 3 star the game yet?

Thanks a lot for the review! :victory::victory::victory::victory::victory:
It is a great encouragement for future work.
Very nice game, I love the reaction of the dandelion to the user actions, as well as the low gravity implementation, and it is quite difficult to master.
With more "candy candy" graphics (and music!) it could be a hit :good::good:

Thanks for the suggestion. I already have some ideas for graphics and I will put in more music, that's not a problem - I already have a playlist for it. I was just afraid to make the game too big now, when there are many updates. But since more people requested the samething, it will be done! :good:

Yes, it is AndEngine. It's pretty simple. Some things are harder to achieve, because AndEngine makes a lot of simplifications, but for a first game, I can recommend it!
Also the community there is really helpful even to complete beginner. Check out the forums: http://www.andengine.org/forums/
I am in need of help. I have now many suggestions for improvements and I need to plan updates. I asked a general question here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=44640252#post44640252
In my TODO list:
1) Add more music
2) Fix the background glitch when zooming out and font problems on low res devices
3) Improve graphics of first two seasons and common graphics
4) Add winter season
5) Add spring season
The game is pretty much stable, no crash reports. After the review from Android Assault, I am getting more downloads (woohoo). So I guess I need to be careful with the updates. Well, this is my first game and I am even a novice Android user. So I don't know what people prefer. One big update or many small updates? Does it matter?
And I think people like to see detailed update descriptions too.

When the application crashes, you have two options. Close and Report. When you use Report, you have an option to submit a stacktrace and your custom message. It is very useful when you describe what you tried to do just before the crash. Also if you fill in the message I get information which phone/device have you used. From there I can determine what happened.:good:

It's so damn addictive! Good job
Evil! just Evil!
Very nice and addictive game!
Just a few remarks:
- I don't see the purpose of the "Exit" item on the main screen. Is this a porting from an iOS version?
- You should remove the black menu bar shown on devices without a physical menu button
It's a clone of one of my friend's iphone games, but for android:

very nice game :good:
Super game, how would you feel about it being included in a rom? and is there a donate version to remove the ads?

I'm one of those sickos who keeps trying for the 3 stars, so I would agree. I would also like the ability to pay you a few dollars to remove the ads.
One other suggestion might be another way to indicate the goal/target without having to tap the screen to start the level (maybe something in the header).

Heh... levels 6 and 16 are the bane of my existence at this point (both of them on 2 stars and everything else on 3).
One last suggestion to add even more realistic physics to this... make the balls solid so that they can collide against each other instead of going through like ghosts. Collisions would add a huge amount of entropy in the system which will make it even better imho.

I'm not sure exactly what you mean by a rom. Do you mean being packaged with other games and offered as a download? If that is what you mean, I don't mind at all, feel free to upload it.
There isn't currently an ad-free version but it's something I am looking in to. I've never released a paid app before so I need to get up to speed on how to go about it but I will post back here when it is available.

Sorry about that, I have edited the thread title so it is no longer misleading. I had to upgrade the android version because it was taking a long time (up to 10 seconds on older phones) for the app to reload after switching to another app or homescreen and then back to my app (during this time there was only a black screen). The only resolution I could find was to preserve the OpenGL context which I think is only available on 3.0+.

In terms of how many dots you need to complete the level, this is displayed on the top left of the screen, how many dots you currently have made react is displayed on the top right. Although for an explanation of what the exact aim is (each stage has slightly different gameplay) it is true you can't see this after the level has started. In a future update, I might show more detail about the current level on the pause screen, which would help, I think.

That's an interesting idea. I'll try and see if I can implement this and see what effect it has on the game. I think it would add quite a lot more realism. Thanks!
The game is very good. Here are the few problems/ideas:
Turning the screen off hangs the game. To unfreeze it I have to minimize it and then switch back to it.
There is no "retry" option if I get 2 or 3 stars, though it would be much more useful than "back".
It would be nice to swipe areas instead of clicking "Next".

Hmm, the freezing issue has me slightly baffled. Have you tried waiting a short time to see if the game might be loading in the background? I have had issues with the app being minimised and loaded again in the past (although I thought I had fixed it before release) so I will see if I can recreate this bug.
I agree with the retry button for those rating-addicts so this will be coming in the next update.
Thanks for the feedback
