[Q] Restoring stock recovery on Galaxy tab 2 7.0 p3110 - Galaxy Tab 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Ive installed cwm recovery to root but have decided to prepare myself if i need to send back for warranty issues.
Ive read through all the threads but cant find a solution.
I need to restore my tab 2 7.0 p3110 back to the stock recovery and remove cwm recovery.
Please can someone help and give me some directions and relevant stock recovery zip so I can do this.
Thanks.
James

Me too
Same question as you.
I have gtab 2 P3100 flashed by CWM recovery 5.0.0.4 and do nandroid back up succesfuly but not rooted yet. I decide not to root mine before updated to ics 4.0.4. And now i would like to revert back to stock recovery.
Does anyone have stock recovery image of P3100?
I know this can be done by flashing stock rom but my internet connection very slow i couldn't to download such a big file ( over 600mb).
Thank you. Regards

James, find attached the recovery image for p3110 (Galaxy Tab 2 7") extracted from the samsung P3110XXALD4 rom. Android 4.0.3 dated 2012 April.

figured it out myself
Thanks mate but figures it out a couple of days ago and used odin to flash the original recovery and everything.
I ended up returning the tablet. Wasnt impressed with the blocky graphics when scrolling whilst browsing and the unsupported apps such as from gameloft was the tip of the iceberg.
Ordered a google nexus 7 now after much deliberation and will hopefully come back to xda to follow custom development on this awesome machine.
Again, thanks. But the nexus 7 renders this tablet as obselete as a 386 sx25

The nexus doesn't do anything to this tablet with cm9 on it. You also have to deal with no storage on the nexus

I cant agree with you there. The nexus has a quad core processor to the tab 2's dual. It has a full 1gb ram instead of 780mb. Amuch better resolution at 1280 x 720. With a ppi ot 216. Also jelly bean with no custom ui.
Also isnt there microphone problems on cm9 with this model.
With all respect to ur development expertise. No micro sd card slit but with 16gb ram is more than enough. Unless u dont own a desktop pc or laptop for movie viewing etc.
I barely ever go past the 10gb mark on storage on tablets and uninstall games rather than have then sitting on my sd card. My music collection is also less than 3gb.
Tegra 3 12 core gpu destroys ti omap 4430 hands down.
I have used cyanogenmod many times however custom roms and kernels also outdo cyanogen everytime almost.
Thanks for your input but the tab 2 is already yesterdays news. Just like the nexus 7 will be in 6-9 months.

If you don't watch movies, listen to music or play games, what are you using your quad-core gpu (i'm assuming you mean CPU) to destroy?…Facebook?
Speaking from experience (I rooted and installed both ICS and JB on my gTab), I can say I am ready to go back to Samsung's TouchWiz. It takes fewer steps to get to settings in the notification area, has a task manager that kills all apps at once, and my movies are not thrown in together with my pictures. My movie thumbnails are in columns instead if one vertical line down the middle of my tablet. It's obvious Android is made for phones instead of tablets. That's where custom UIs outshine.
Thank you for your input but you may want to do a little research and get your facts straight before being condescending towards other people and their opinions. The Nexus resolution is 1280X800 and both tablets have 1 GB of RAM.

I was just given a wifi only tab 2 7.0 and I need to get it back to stock. Does qbking77 have a video? It is the 3113 model. Help please.

Oops mistyped and wrote the wrong specific resolution. I'll have to say that if you are going to be a pedantic samsung fanboy troll, u need to get your facts straight. Nexus resolution is 1205x800, so both were wrong. The Samsung has got less than 800mb ram total for youor information that is used FACT.
To answer your first troll(ey) little comment. I stated that they werent the reasons Im buying it (movies/Music). I also stated that I dont leave games installed unless I play them constantly, or thats what any normal person would have realised.
I think you'll find that YOU are the condescending one, I merely stated my opinion from knowledge.
Hope you enjoy your Samsung Galaxy Fail 2, I'll just sit back play a couple of games, surf the internet without blocky graphics when scrolling and enjoy general awesome buttery use of my nexus :victory:

Come on guys - calm it down. We all have different devices and different opinions. This thread is not about that, however.
Keep it friendly from now on or I'll start dishing out warnings.

If you root the Nexus 7 you can use an OTG cable and use whatever storage you want. I bought the Tab2 for the micro sd feature but honestly, the 7 blows it away in every category except having a built in micro sd and a rear camera. If you need use removable storage, don't intend to root and need the rear camera, the Tab2 is a great option. If you plan to root, don't use the rear camera, and are OK using a short OTG cable, there is no reason to get the Tab2 over the 7 in my opinion. The 7 is blazing fast, has a better screen, better memory, is cheaper and does not have the bloatware that the Samsung has. If I had it to do all over again, I would have skipped the Tab2 for the 7. Yes, I have both although Samsung has had to replace my Tab2 due to not being able to repair it.

If you flash a new firmware from sammobile you will need ODIN (be careful, you can brick your tab if you mess up), and it will wipe your tablet (kernel, os, etc) and return it to stock, so then you have to start from the begining

OTG mean On-The-Go Cable. One end connects to your tablet, the other end is a USB female port that will allow you to plug in things like a USB flash drive, or DSLR camera, or Memory card reader, as long as the device power requirements are low or self powered
Here is a link to a list of OTG cables from Amazon.com: http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_n...electronics&field-keywords=google+nexus+7+otg
I use an OTG cable for my Gtab2 connected to my Canon DSLR and it works great!!

I just rooted, haven't installed CM10 yet
I used this link, and I am very much like you, I only had my tab for 2 weeks, after 1 week I rooted it. I have a business trip coming up, and I have all my notes and files stored in the tab so I can't install CM10 right now, but I will be when I get back.
http://teamhacksung.org/wiki/index.php/CyanogenMod10:GT-P3113:How_to_install
Just make sure and make a backup before you root it (so after you install CWM and before flashing the zip files).
I haven't read anything about CM10 hurting anything, and trust me, when it comes to reading about CM10, and this whole process I have spent sleepless nights reading thread and forum, mostly from here about it.
Enjoy CM10 when you install it It sounds like a great rom.
I had my tablet long enough to boot into download mode and flash the first build of cm9. I never booted into the stock ics.
It won't harm it. Its just bare android. Not Samsung slow bloated crap android.

you can root the stock rom, But I suggest you should not flash the custom rom because it will break the warranty.
IMHO, Stock Samsung ROM is still far more stable than CM9/CM10/AOKP,
I've never experienced hang with the stock rom so far
I'm confuzzled (confused)

If I am reading what you are saying correctly, rooting by itself does NOT void the warranty? Therefore it doesn't increase the counter? I thought anything done via Odin did trip the counter.
I could be wrong lol
I just want JB for the butter, and google now so I can mount it in my car and talk to it (maybe use the carpool lane! j/k)

Flashed JB back to ICS but want Root
Been combing thru the developer section for hours. Of course, you have to almost go back to September for ICS related stuff. But, only saw the rom, recovery & root rom for JB. Where is the one for ICS? Even some of the custom tweaked roms for ICS now have dead links. I have root explorer and want to take some of the crap off and add some stuff.
I didn't like JB because of the GUI the notification bar was awkward and not sized right. Didn't like the screenshot softkey being gone either. The youtube buffering and connectivity was a turn off too plus the battery drain. I got 8 hrs on JB and 13 hrs on ICS. I would love to root and or put on a custom rom, any suggestions?
so i'm gonna be getting this tab in a couple weeks, and i have never had a multi version tab before (wifi onlyversion, and different carrier versions).
i found this thread, and i'm glad i did. my first question about this tab, is development related. i want to know how the community is, and how active it is. i quickly looked through the dev section and it seemed pretty positive, but it was just a quick look, so not a very accurate perception.
secondly, my question is on different twiz versions, are all stock images rootable in the same way? or are some versions more difficult to root? and i don't care about flash counters as the device is a glorified secondhand device.
and finally, just wondering how others like this tab, i don't want to start a war, or anything. just wondering about the device, because i'm new to samsung tabs.
besides that, i'm looking forward to being a part of this community.

There isnt a whole lot of development for the 10.1 version. But all of the man stuff is there and awesome. Its very easy to root on all versions of twiz. I personally love the device. I have the 5113 version which has an infrared blaster which is very useful to me. The specs arent spectacular but I havent slowed my tab down even playing high quality games. Im currently on stock jb rooted with twrp as my recovery. I havent overclocked yet either. Dont have the need for it currently

Galaxy tab 2 p3110 3G + WIFI has two problems after rooting.
I recently got a samsung galaxy tab 2 7.0 P3100 and rooted it with cwm and everything was ok. Next day, i decided to upgrade os to Jelly Bean but i copied the file to internal sd card instead of the external one, In order to correct this, i removed the ext sd card while the pad was still connected to the laptop and copied the files through the card reader of the laptop, put back the card in the tab before disconnecting. Now I completed the upgrading process, but instead of the jelly bean, i got the ICS. In download mode the laptop recognised the tab and I've flashed with odin two more time.I've rebooted in recovery mode twice without luck.
These are the problems:
PROBLEM 1. back and since then my laptop can't see the tab, I've done kies, reloaded usb drivers etc, no luck.
PROBLEM 2. In-coming calls are blocked but I can call out.
PLease help.

[Q] Should I flash my tablet

Hello everybody,
I'm actually runing 4.1.1 on my tablet and I would like to update it to a fresh new customized rom (such as Hydro 7)! As I bought my tablet directly from the store 5 months ago, I'm quite hesitating... What do you suggest me!
Do it!
+1 do it!
You wont be disappointed. Just make sure you do your homework well and you'll be fine :good:

Make sure you read up on what you need to do prior. Plus contingencies on or about recovery methods. The worst you can do, is have no options for recovery.
Clearly yes. I recommend btw BAKED Rom because of it's customization (link in my sig)
everything important (should be step by step) should be written here btw

I dont know about installing developer tools however i will tell you how much better the tablet runs afterinstalling cleanrom 3.3 with unters overclocked kernel. Superfast, no more pop ups saying something fails to respond. I did still experience slight performance issues when downloading a movie torrent but not as bad like before. When i downloaded on the stock asus tf300t the tablet became a paper weight. I am currently trying data2sd with a sandisk micro class 10 on cleanrom but having issues. I cant seem to get it working right. Going to keep trying
There thousands of posts related to flash/root and none of them are accurate...Can')t understand ppl always referring to them now
This thread really does tempt me to install a custom ROM on my tablet but i have around 3 months left of my warranty so don't know if it's worth the risk. Furthermore, i'm scared of being bricked

As you can see by the tittle i already have my galaxy tab 2 7.0 rooted (3113) and totally blanked on rooting with cwm. So how can I do it without having to restart the root process all over again?

I spent the last year solely working with only iOS (learning purposes), and let me say, dam it feels good to be back with my fellew Androidians.

You can go for CM10.1..But I personally like stock..So rooted with unbloated Stock.
I kept reading that stock is best still for maintaining gaming levels (gaming usually pushes a system to its limits more so that anything else). I only just got my sgt2 so im in no rush. Yet

From what I've read IR Blaster is only working on select ROMs. Dunno if that's important to you.

[ROM][STOCK][JDQ39][4.2.2] SM-T310 Stock Rom T310UEUAMH2 (NOT ROOTED)

Hey guys, this is the newest (as of October 5th, 2013) stock rom available for the North American, Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 8" WiFi model.
I am not sure if this will work with any other version (ie: 7", 10", 3G, international, etc..)
Hopefully somebody can work with this to make our first custom rom, who knows!
This is intended to be used on the North American, SM-T310 8" WiFi model!
DO NOT COME AND CRY TO ME ABOUT IT BRICKING YOUR DEVICE.
YOU WILL LOSE ROOT. YOU WILL HAVE A FACTORY RESET DEVICE WHEN THIS IS FINISHED.
This was taken directly from Samsung's FWUS and is exactly what you would get by using Samsung Kies to update the device.
I'm not going to give a tutorial about how to place your device into bootloader/download mode, or how to use this file, but I will give a brief description for you. Search this site for plenty of tutorials on Samsung Download Mode, and also where to obtain Odin (along with instructions on how to use it.)
I have NOT found this file ANYWHERE else, so if you're going to leech it, or re-upload it somewhere else, just give credit, or link back to this post, please.
1 - Decompress the zip file
2 - Put device into bootloader/download mode
3 - Execute Odin
4 - Select "PDA" option within Odin, and select the .tar.md5 file that was extracted from step 1
5 - Start

Sounds good. Be nice to see some action on here. Been tempted to try something myself but am pretty green at cooking roms... If anyone needs a tester I'd be willing to be a guinea pig... cheers.

I'm uploading my deodexed rom currently. Been working on it for a few days and had to get the flash script working correctly. Will post a new thread when it eventually uploads.
Sent from my SGH-I747 using xda app-developers app
flashed.
its quite different from what i had though... T310ZTUAMG2 (Taiwan)
like auto brightness, my previous rom allows me to adjust the auto bightness level, but this one does not. its either manual or full on auto.
which one is newer?
I assume the one with fine auto brightness adjustment is newer...
Yet this one has a better keyboard... like numbers above qwerty keyboard. handwriting with multiple words on lines.
(The other one uses full screen handwriting, numbers located at a separated tab) >> I think its because Taiwan version uses "Samsung Chinese Keyboard" instead of "Samsung Keyboard", which by the way both support multiple languages but with different layout.
Are the Gapps included in this rom?
Thanks

Yes, this is the entire stock rom, just like you would receive it via ota or Kies.
Download link is no good.
Is no one developing custom ROMs yet because it's so new, or will we never see custom ROMs?
Sorry for the dead link, guys.
I accidentally deleted it from my server, and never realized it!
I've uploaded it to a mediafire link for you all, though! The link is in the original post
Let me know if anybody needs any mirrors or anything!
Is the MD5 hash available for comparison?

I've tried flashing this over my existing CM 10.2 install; Odin seems perfectly happy writing out all the images ( boot/recovery/system ), but when the Tab restarts, it gets stuck on the Samsung logo.
I can revert back to CM10.2 without issue - but I can't seem to get back to stock.

I used TWRP the first time and that didn't work.
Philz did it.
guys can you please tell me if it has Arabic language ?
foil,
Thank you so much for this. I was looking for it since yesterday...not sure why I missed this thread
Quick question: do you have access to stock recovery only? I flashed philz, but would love the option to flash the original recovery without the rest of the files, just in case.
Thanks bud.
