Q Keep screen off/locked after ending phone cl - AT&T, Rogers HTC One X, Telstra One XL

Any way to change how the phone behaves in regards to the screen waking up after ending a Bluetooth phone call?
Windows Mobile handled this correctly. Android does the opposite.
For example, I am on a phone call using BT headset, I press the power button and put the phone to sleep, put the phone in my pocket, end the call and the screen wakes up with the dialer open. Guess what happens next.....pocket dialing!
WM would end the call and the screen wouldn't turn on, and even after waking it up it was locked.
BT headsets, voice dialing, but I can't just leave the phone in my pocket? Doesn't make any sense!
End call should equal no wake or unlock(no action)
A lot of android users and the people their pockets dial would benefit from this.

Really? On the Gnex, if you lock the phone while on a call, screen won't turn on till after you push the power buttons again.
Only if you have the call next to your ear and using the proximity sensor will the screen turn on.

C5's got it right. If you switch off your screen during a call that ends while you're on your BT headset (whether you answered it on the HANDset or not doesn't matter, and neither does if you end the call from your headset or if the other party hangs up), the screen comes alive unlocked. If you initiated the call, it'll probably be the dialer screen - unless you did something else afterwards. If you received the call, whatever app was running when you answered will be presented again.
Weird.

This is killing me! Any ideas?

I'd love to know the answer to this too. I just deleted 39 pocket photos.

Can't you just lock the screen after you end the call?

Auto screen awake had been a real nuisance for me at times. Especially when I am on bike, the phone acts a master of its own mind doing anything it wishes. I installed "after call screen lock" and finally this issue is sorted for me.
You can get it on play.

Screen locked during phone call

Every time i make a phone call using speaker or phone the phone lock itself after 45 sec (like i set it to be). If i want to turn the screen on again to end the call i have to press the power button. There is any way to prevent the screen from being locked during phone call ?

yes! i just dont know how to activate it lol. sorry i hated that feature cause on speaker phone, screen would sleep then id get asked to press 1 or something so i would always wake it up and end the call... lol. i was on 3.6.1 when this was goin on and after flashing the update the feature was turned off.

Phone call vibration.

Whenever I'm in a phone call my phone does a short vibration two times then the screen lights up and does it again happens all the time when I'm on my phone and always does a two vibration tone. I check setting and there was nothing in it :/ I'm running absolution 3.7 and Idk its just annoying anyway I can. Get it to stop?

That may be a notification. I think by design, while your on a call, notifications go to vibrate mode to avoid blowing your ear out with the tone I have had this happen to me in the past and wondered what it was, then figured it out when I realized I had new email after the call. It seems strange though, because I always thought data was off during a call.
No its both a notification and just a dual vibration :/ it just is annoying hearing it go off even on silent it does it -.-

Just noticed in another thread that CM7 has a setting for vibrate on outgoing calls. Is it possible that could be in your ROM somewhere? Just a guess.
I have everything unchecked and its vibration seems to happen whenever the screen turns back on during a phone call like ill lock the phone but randomly the screen "rotates" and comes back on and the it vibrates :/... I'm thinking of just reflashing the rom because I don't even have a ringtone for when people call :/ blah

Proximity sensor issue?

AT&T OneXL, rooted and running LiquidSmooth ROM, but I have had this issue on every ROM.
When I am on a call, somehow my face causes random apps or settings pages to come up. Tonight I put my phone in airplane mode in the middle of a call with a client. If I hold the phone at an odd angle (just the top edge touching my ear, angled away from my face) the screen stays off and it works, but I can't get the volume high enough to hear the other person.
Has anyone else had this issue? Any suggestions for a fix, either for the phantom face activation or a volume boost?

There is a "sorta" fix for this. When you initiate or answer the call, push the power button to manually make the screen sleep and you shouldn't have this problem any longer.

Thanks! So far this seems to work. I also have started using a wired headset at least when I am in the car, makes it a little louder.

[Q] Moto G dials from itself

Hello,
Since a few weeks a colleague mentions me I'm calling him a lot during the weekend. I thought it came by the flipcover and not closing the dialer app properly. He's on the favorite screen, so maybe by closing the flip cover the cover touched the image and the phone started dialing.
But....this morning my mother in law called me at 6.30am why I called her? I was a sleep so didn't call her, I checked the call log and indeed, a call went out to her a few minutes before. As the phone is next to me, I'm sure nobody touched the phone.
Anyone had this experience or knows what I can check?
Regards,
Michel
That's pretty weird. You're using a flip cover right? Do you usually keep your phone app open when you turn your screen off?

I'm calling a lot, I try to pay attention the phone app is closed.
This morning I'm sure the Moto g started dialing out of itself because everyone was still a sleep and it was just beside me on the nighttable.
Pretty anoying when he's calling people at night
Same thing happens to me when I keep my phone in my pocket and I forget to lock it. It randomly starts calling my friends, and when I check the recent apps, it shows that my phone opened a large number of apps..... So I guess it's because when the phone isn't locked and something touches the screen, it triggers strange behaviour. That could be the case with your flip cover.

I gotta say that this sounds very creepy.
Anyway, it happens to me very rarely because the dialer is sort of stupidly made, wherever you press in the recent calls it dials directly (besides the contact picture).Same goes to the 3 favorites in the gray squares.
Im having the same issue.
