Anyone else getting these awesome speeds? - HTC One S

Picture below says it all! Awesome Speeds on 4G! Probably even better than ATT LTE Speeds. Maybe t-mobile updated their network
Note: stock radio and ROM.

Fair enough. Just an fyi, if you perform your search from here and select advanced search, you can select to search all "child" (sub) forums from one search.

the scores he posted ARE from mobile network. Look at the icon to the left of score. That icon denotes the type of network the test was performed on. That is NOT the Wi-Fi icon!

Better 4G Speeds?

Is it possible to edit the build.prop file like the on the Inspire 4G to achieve better speeds?

I apologize if I put it in the wrong forum, but I didn't think that editing the build.prop file or regulating 4G speeds that AT&T hasn't "given" us access to yet was a general question.
Aside from that, is it possible?

So, you want to post in development? Ask yourself this:

If so, this is not the right place to post a new thread. Instead, use the SEARCH function to find a thread about your question. If that's not available, post your question in General.

Well no offense to anyone, but changing the build.prop of any phone to alter the dynamics of how to phone runs or behaves sounds like development to me...
Can it be done? Do you know how exactly it's done on the inspire?

Your missing what the dev section is for.
If someone had a custom Build.prop they wanted to share, that is a Dev post. Asking a question about development is not.
no, from what I've been tinkering with in the test settings (accessed with *#0011#) and pressing menu, back, selecting "network control", then "hspa cat control", I'm able to get better speeds on CAT 10 than CAT 14, but other's speeds may vary. (I know I'm a heavy user that uses over 15 to 20 GB per month too, so it may just be going through a CAT that I'm not throttled on too.... )
But with all above, I agree that this should be in General....
the inspire has hsupa disabled foe the att version with a line in build.prop. hsupa has been disabled on all att phone cept the iphone and the infuse. tere have been different meathods to disable it but is irrelevant because the infuse has it enabled. ther may be other settings to change but not to get even better speeds but I don't think it will be in build.prop or yield the same results.

wow i started messing with the diffrent CAT settings on my infuse and now i have gotten up to 5250 down on my speed test! before the most ive gotten was low 3000's. a friend of mine has a infuse 4g also but he has gotten up to 10,000 down! he usually averages 7-8k on speed tests. WHY????? he has had his phone since it came out i think.
Someone needs to build a CAT setting tester/optimizer!

No, AT&T has. HSPA+ is still 3G, even though AT&T calls it 4g. They may re-brand all the user-facing stuff to say 4G, but the phone's technical information that you aren't supposed to see will refer to it by its technical term, 3G.
if its not LTE , its not 4g Sorry to burst your bubble. I truely miss Tmobile when it comes to data. I would get around 6megs down all the time on "3g". I dont even get 3 most times with at&t and the upload is such horrible ****.

LTE isn't 4G either, if you want to lump HSPA+ into ' it's not 4G' category. LTE currently offers nothing remotely close to the original ITU specs.

I typically get 3-4 Mbps at work/home. Last week I was about 4 miles away, got 8.9Mbps. Another day I was about 5 miles further, got 5.5 Mbps. Depends on which tower you're on.
Yeah, I've noticed that too. I switched the CAT and got improvement at my office... Now just to check at home.

4G in Status Bar

How can I get my 4G Icon back in my status bar. I'm running "Revolution HD 3.6 for the HTC Sensation. All I have is the little H in the bar with the arrows going up and down. Its an aesthetic thing no more no less. It eases my mind to know i'm actually receiving 4G Speed and greater.

T-Mobile Towers App

Does anyone has the old version of the T-Mobile Towers app?
The old app displayed a Google map of all the locations of T-Mobile's towers. But the last update just gives a registration screen and nothing else. I'm sorry I updated and didn't have a backup.
If someone could please post the old .apk file, I'd be grateful! Thanks!

Makes no sense to maintain two databases. I'd bet their database is out of date.

Hmm, it shows the same thing... if that database were right, I'd have almost no signal in several places I have GREAT signal... I wonder if maybe it only shows T-Mobile owned towers and not towers that have been leased from other companies?

2 issues to consider ... First that tower may not have t-mobile service on it. The second is, apparently if you're at ground level below a tower you supposedly don't get good signal because it transmits outwardly not straight down... I don't know if that's true but it's a line we gave customers when I worked at T-Mobile LOL...

It's true. It doesn't transmit straight down for safety reasons - you don't want people in the immediate vicinity getting slammed with full-power RF. Might get everyone sterile.

All antennas are directed at a slight angle going otherwise they would be going straight out which would give a lot more customers near the tower no signal, or point it further down which would drop the overall coverage of the tower.
Also noted not all towers have a high speed backbone even if the antenna might be 4G compatible. A lot of small towns don't have affordable fiber yet so they are running off of old t1's still

[Q] MIUI, Traffic Reminder

Is there a way to remove the incessant "traffic reminder" in MIUI v4 2.11.9? I have unlimited data, so I set about to use as much bandwidth as possible, therefore I don't need a reminder every time I download something. Your assistance in this matter is greatly appreciated, thank you in advance.

While we're on the MIUI topic, do you know if there is an issue with GPS, and if possible a fix? I find that it picks up rather slow, if at all, on this ROM versus other ROMs. I was able to get it to work on TeleNAV GPS Navigator and it claimed "weak signal", while Google Maps just wouldn't find the signal.
Also, I'm fairly new to posting, should I have started a new thread or is too many [Q] threads frowned upon?

^---- Thanks for this, installing it now.
I saw a post on a MIUI forum that stated there was NO 4G coverage on the MIUI ROM. Is this statement incorrect? I noticed that I get H+ but I haven't tested the speeds. Additionally, I wouldn't know which speeds correspond to 4G and which are below it.

My understanding of it that real 4G is LTE over there but the phone don't have that but something close to it.
I get 30 Mbps download on hspa+ if you are getting anything over 15 Mbps T-Mobile considers that "4g". The h+ sign means T-Mobile "4g" or at least it used to

Triband Nexus 5

Can someone please clarify something for me? I just got off the phone with a Sprint associate who was really rude. I have a Nexus 5 that will not receive phone calls when LTE is enabled. When 3G is enabled I get calls just fine.Is it because of this?
http://www.pocketables.com/2014/01/heres-triband-lte-sprint-phone-wont-connect-lte.html
Will enabling the other bands on my phone (after getting my MSL) allow me to do this. I believe Sprint Spark is available where I am (Kalamazoo MI).
I have rooted and flashed Calkulin's CM11 ROM....I can't remember if I had this problem before I rooted since I only get 3G coverage most of the time in my home.
Thanks for any insight....I hope I explained my problem correctly.
Isn't there a thread in general to get sprint working on custom roms? Did you do your search on general too, or did you only search q&a?
When searching, definitely search twice (in both q&a AND general) as guides to fix things are often in general

TS--Just returned from the Sprint Store at their HQ. According to the guy helping me, the N5 hasn't received the Spark update yet. It will, but hasn't happened yet. Even in the store, the demo wasn't on Spark. Right next to it, the LG G2 was on Spark and rocking 40+ Mb/s.
1) Yes N5 hasn't got official spark update, but getting the .15 radio I've heard forces it to love band 41 by default if it picks it up over band 25 and you enable the bands, but it's not a for-sure thing and seems to be hit or miss.
2) It probably was an eHRPD issue you ran into.
3) Patience.

Glad to hear that the PRL update fixed the issue. Just so you are aware, when you are on a phone call, your LTE data will not work.
