Two problems with new One S - HTC One S

Hi guys,
I have two problems with one day one S..
First of all 3g is not working and then the data usage notification keeps turning on and on..I cannot close it down..
Please help guys

Can you get a screen shot? I'm nit entirely sure what would be causing this, however you can change your data usage notification in wireless and networks in settings.

First of are you unlocked and rooted or stock? I am assuming stock since you said you just got it.
If stock there is a manual that comes with the phone, you have customer service from your service provider, and you can contact HTC!

I have another question..Can i download from somewhere a language package for my phone..I want to set my language but it doesn't have...

What your language? In order to change this you need rooted. I'm not sure there any apps will change for you.

Add it with morelocale 2, and no you DO NOT need root.

WORKED!!

Hi friends,
I don't know if you try this but I just found it under "Android Software and Hacking" forum, it overboost the management of the apps and it works awesome with our Galaxy R. The first time you open the app doesn't have effect but after that, it opens 5 times faster than before. Please, try it and share with everybody your impressions.
I'm trying it for few hours and I don't know if it affects the battery drain, I'll post with my results.

No, only the apk, give it root permission when open and put "ON" status. You can active on boot too.
Regards.
Works! Definitely Works! Apps launch much faster now...!!! :good:
After keeping the app on and whn i close it. It again turns off? I need to keep the app in open apps?
Does this prevent phone from sleeping?

A possible LTE option missing, solution :D

Hi,
I think i may have found a solution to the LTE options disappearing after a new ROM installation... but i need some developers to help out.
Download this app (i am not associated with this app in any way, but it helps to solve this problem)
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...Toggle&feature=nav_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwyLDNd
Run the app > place the 4G toggle on > bring down the notification bar > push the 4G button and it will bring up a menu hidden deep within the phones system settings somewhere. You want to scroll down the page of text to get to the menu where it says "SET PREFERRED NETWORK TYPE" and select LTE/GSM/CDMA
Basically, this app allows you to access the full settings for your phones. Basically, this IS the solution to the LTE disappearing problem
Thing is, i am not a developer. I have no idea how to access this menu without using this application. Maybe someone else with more skill might be able to extract the method that is used and turn this into a simplier method which would mean we no longer have to re-install stock ROMS to get LTE back....
Cheers

hmmm, must only work on the Google Edition ROMs then....
I believe the normal TW Samsung ROMs should have some kind of "Phone Info" menu - similar but not exactly the same as that one...

There is a fix for lte option thats already out. As long as your phone is rooted with cwm recovery.
I am assuming that your talking about the network Mode and selecting lte.

You mind elaborating on that statement and give us a link?
I want to be able to turn OFF LTE and only use HSPA for now, but I have no way of getting into the right menus to do it with the GE 4.2.2 ROM I am using.

There is an issue. On stock sammy roms where people have flashed a custom rom. But the option to select lte mode was not available to them.
The fix just enabled the option so they could select lte. But this was on a stock Sammy rom. Not on a aosp rom.
So are you saying on the google version you dont have access to the mobile network menu?

I had an issue where LTE disappeared on an unmodified GS4GE, Google even sent me a new one and then it happened again. This was the only thing besides a hard reset that fixed the issue. Thank you!

This happens if you toggle '2G networks' on mobile networks.
Did using this app fix it? I guess when you toggle it, the ROM incorrectly sets the mobile network state to GSM/WCDMA only, instead of LTE/WCDMA.

That explains a lot. Yea, the only way to fix it was using that app. I hope it's fixed when they release 4.3 for the Google Editions.

Glad i could help.
It was becoming an annoying problem for me, since i like to try new ROMs and stuff regularly. I was losing LTE connectivity all the time. The best solutions people had come up with was to reflash a "Stock" ROM then the corresponding ROM that i wanted afterwards. But that was just becoming tiring and took far more time than it should have.

This open the testing menu. Select device info in this screen and bingo you can now select any network.

I already added it the way I mentioned and have been using it successfully to force LTE. This is only for GE ROMs, since we're the ones that have problems with LTE "disappearing".
TW may need your method instead.

it has to be renamed in the one that bootloader is scaning the sdcard for it

Persian Soft Keyboard
However, if someone has a LANGUAGE problem, what connection does this have with Baseband (Radio)?!
In my mind, this is just a software, that a phone needs, to solve a language problem.
I am in Bulgaria, so we use different alphabet here, called Cyrillic. If someone has got a British phone, branded, with no Cyrillic support whatsoever, then we simply install a program from Google Play to make it support our keyboard. Isn't your problem similar to that? Did you try the below file?
Persian Soft Keyboard
To configure, go to the "Language & keyboard" menu under "Settings". Long-press for additional keys.
Best regards!

IMO baseband refers to your radio firmware version which doesn't in any way relate to language. Language depends on rom.

Hi,, did you find the solution? I'm running the same android version ,
If you are rooted go to /system/customize/acc/ and you will find default.xml open it and edit the region and sku_id to 0
Sent from my HTC6525LVW using XDA Free mobile app

or better yet replace it with the correct sku_id for your region/carrier from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2594804
that will give you the correct signal icons as well.
