My question is: any body know this one can use with A510 or not?
appreciate!

I'm pretty sure you'll want a power cable with a Micro USB connector at the end and not the plug type shown in those pictures.

Okay...I'll answer this one myself... I was able to "chat" online with Acer support from the U.S. site and it was a Saturnalia miracle as Acer will be shipping me out a new adapter under warranty... so if you're in the same pickle, try chatting with Acer support first (from the Contact Us link on the Acer U.S. site)...

What type of info does Acer ask about the situation? Just serial number on the device or the charger? Do they ask what happened? I have a little cousin that did the same thing...

Nothing much really... the support agent "suggested" that the charger cable pin was bent and I agreed with him/her... no query about how the bent pin came to be... Yes, I just had to give my serial number on the device (not the charger) and the date of purchase (found my receipt online from where I purchased my A510).

And extra bonus... I received the newer A700 adapter that attaches on an angle... So now I can charge my A510 on a generic tablet stand in non-inverted landscape mode. Much nicer on the nightstand.

Radio Shack
The reason why, btw, is that the USB port doesn't supply enough power for charging. This is fairly common with tablets. 500mAh is the max for USB, I believe?
If you go the Radio Shack route, the AC Adapter is a MPA-630. Output is +12V.
EDIT: Looks like Kodak makes a similar one?

Not all motherboards, such as the Gigabyte model I have. It can output 1.5A from the USB ports and can be set to charge 'iPads'.
I have used the gtabs full size usb port to charge my ecig battery a few times, but the charger is listed at 5v 500ma

hum... that screws my thoughts to charge it here in europe...
will a simple adapter work??? will the power supply make the correct voltage adjustments like laptops power supplies do??
There are two existing threads dealing with a power supply for the g-tablet.
One is about a replacement "wall wart":
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=842310
The other is about a 12V auto adapter:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=879718
Maybe the auto adapter would work in Europe. I don 't know what type of electrical systems European automobiles have. But I used to have an old Triumph motorcycle (British), and had a positive ground system.
Just be careful that you don't burn out your tablet.

The power supply is rated 120/240 volt and 50/60 cycles, so a simple plug adapter should work. I do that with all of my stuff when in England.

I got the kodak charger from ebay for $15 and it is exactly the same as the original stock charger .
I also have Radio shack enercell ( #270-052 ) auto charger ($16) (with universal 1000mah wall converter as a traveling charger ($10).
Looking through Amazon and Radio Shack online, couldn't find this. Does Viewsonic sell these directly? If not, any Amazon based version y'all can recommend?
TIA!
Does anyone know if there is any way to get other pin inserts? for other countries.

with something like this:
It's just a USB charger so, in theory, you should just be able to buy one and use the supplied micro USB lead.
That's the theory but I've just tried it and got some unusual results.
The supplied HP charger is 5.3v 2A. I used a cheap Chinese USB charger that I got from eBay that says it produces 5.0v 1A. It charged the battery but if you try and use the tablet while it's on charge you get deadspots on the screen, random multitouch gestures (most noticable in the browser) and slight freezes and stuttering. If I unplug the touchpad and run it on battery it works perfecty and if I use the supplied HP charger it also works flawlessly.
Moral of the story - make sure the charger you use is man enough for the task. HP sell a travel charger kit, you might be easier to just get that.
That's probably because the rating is at 1A. Plus you did say it's a "cheap chinese charger".
Just use any decent USB charger that matches the power requirement of the unit and it should suffice.
Why don't you try getting a converter? All mobile products come with universal chargers that support 110v to 220v

Hi,
my european HP Touchpad-Powersupply hast 5V/2Ah so a normal USB-Power-Supply wouldnt have enough power.
But you could convert, at your own risk, a 5V power supply from a active USB-Hub to power the USB-A Connector
take a look at pinouts . ru / Slots / USB_pinout.shtml
If you are in the UK, Maplin have USB chargers rated at 5V 2.1A that should do the trick.
unfortunately i ordered mine from amazon.com so i guess its the US version and as you can see under my avatar im from greece so no maplin for me :S
Can anyone check what is printed on Touchpad charger (USA version)?
Does it says 100-240v input?
If so, you can use this "converter" without any problems, I use it with my HTC charger (but it is printed 100-240v)....

i already ordered it from DX since it was so cheap but i have some fears since it looks kinda 'cheap'? i dont want it getting fried, you know
I got mine yesterday and it seems the microusb cable has a short in it...as it doesnt work properly and wont charge. I tried using my old BB microusb and it wouldnt work becasue its a type A microusb, and the HP Touchpad uses a type b micro usb. I am having it replaced under warranty but I went ahead and ordered a few more from meritline, and they are easily found all over the web. For right now im using my old evo microusb until the new ones arrive.
Make sure you get a microusb 2.0 type b if you plan to replace the cable.

Don't worry I have like 10 of them from DX, all working perfectly
In fact this is not converter, what it does it simply change a shape of flat to round (for 220v), rest is done by the charger itself, as it support 220v...
5.3?
Most of my other USB chargers are exactly 5.0V and only change the Amperage... usually from 0.5 to 1A but there the more the merrier, right?
This is the first one with >5.0V
Can i charge my other stuff with it? i'm still scared to plug my nexus one to it... always thought usb specs were 5.0-sharp-Volts.

[Q] Charging Issues

This tablet is driving me nuts. Charging port must have a short or something but it looks fine. No bent pins or anything. My problem is sometimes I can plug it into the wall charger and it charges fine. Other times it will not charge for anything. Even using different chargers and cables and still nothing. Then next day it will charge no problem. Crazy. What is weird is that every single time the tablet was put on the dock it would charge no problem each and every time.
Anyone have any ideas because currently I have to play this game every day when it needs charged.
Does the dock charge every single time you use a cable and charger ?
If it was a problem with the tablet side port you would think the issue would remain trying to charge by docking it too
Tried a different ROM to rule that out ?

The dock did charge every time without issue. Haven't tried a different rom yet and can't right now till I get a charge on it. If I can will get another rom flashed on it to test.
I say "did" because the dock has since went belly up and had to be retired. So I have no alternative way to try and charge the tablet now. Was using the dock to charge the tablet every time because of the trouble charging it directly.
Not sure if they are swappable, but if you still have the dead dock, you might be able to salvage the charger port from it if it still works and fit it into the tablet, in case it is some weird connection issue tablet side

That is not an option because some of the pins got pushed back and broken off so the connector is trash now.
Also, the tablet will not charge when off right now either so don't think it is the rom causing it.

Wireless charging

The only thing stopping this from being a perfect phone is wireless charging.
Maybe Sony will release an add-on to give it Qi capabilities?
How about using the Qi adapter into the micro-sd connector route? Would it retain waterproofing if it was plugged in?
The Z premium is powered by Qualcomms latest snapdragon 810 chipset. There is also another news is that smartphone has three version like premimum ,compact and Sony Xperia Z5.There are 3 generous GB of DDR4 RAM in the flagship, and 32 GB of storage, along with a microSD card slot for expansion. This feature must to be add waterproof quality.THat is why it may be the extraordinary feature.

No idea, i would assume that it wouldn't matter if anything is plugged into it, however that adapter isn't really dubbed as being waterproof so while the phone is waterproof the adapter certainly isn't.

May I ask why you want wireless charging?
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
USB port on the Z5 isn't covered with a rubber flap, so it must be able to withstand water bridging the wires in there, so I think it's safe to assume, as long as no power is applied until it's completely dry, just having something plugged in shouldn't hurt it . Though, as stated, the Qi receiver itself may not fair so well.

1) Convenience: It seemed silly to me too until I tried it, but it's actually way more convenient than plugging/unplugging all day. Just set your phone down and it's 100% when you're ready to go. I have a couple at the house and one at the office, now my phone rarely spends any time out of my hands not charging.
2) Durability: My girlfriend finally had to give up her Galaxy Active because the one part that wasn't bulletproof was the USB port. Once that gave out the phone was useless, but if it had Qi charging, with reduced wear it'd still be running fine. Additionally, Qi lets you charge (nearly) regardless of cases, unlike docks, which I usually had to take phone out of to fit in a dock. ...Which is why my Nexus 4 was naked when I dropped it. I wised up, got a Nexus 5 and a few Qi chargers, and have never had the N5 out of a case since.

Infuriating
Its so frustrating when companies go backwards with tech; big names like Sony should be able to add things to their products not take them away! The Z3 had magnetic charging and even my Z1 which is due for upgrade soon has a magnetic charging port.....! It doesn't seem like the Z5 has come on leaps and bounds since the Z1 which I would have expected by now!
I tried the wireless Qi card on the Z5, it works out to be about 10+% per hour but the phone really heats up.
Decided against it and went back to charging the normal way.
It's a shame that they removed the Magnetic Dock i was already planing on buying that phone, but after i saw it today in a Store i'm really not so sure anymore if i will actually buy it :/
I think i will just sit this one out and wait for the Z6 and hope that Sony will listen to us customers and give us the dock back or add qi charging into the phone without something from a third party.
Don't think magnetic charging will come back....

EDIT: This charger is old and is no longer recommended, I recommend you only buy a big branded charger as cheap chargers can damage your equipment and could kill you, So buy a big brand so if the worst happens, you can get legal and monitory redress, Also watch out for FAKES, buy from an reputable retailer and if it`s really cheap beware.
Below is a list of safety tested chargers, the skulls on the right of certain charger`s means that the charger is dangerous.

I have this charger, but i haven't used it on my T700. Seems to charge my other devices faster. I found it through Slickdeals. People commented that the reviews are paid/fake, which appear to be so. The charger claims to be Qualcomm certified, but it is not on the certified list (https://www.qualcomm.com/documents/quick-charge-device-list).

Too many fake and possibly deadly chargers from china/hong-kong and they can be virtually impossible to tell from the original, so buy from big reputable retailers in your local country, your life is not worth putting at risk for a few dollars.
Below is a list of checked/reviewed chargers, dont buy chargers that have a skull on the right side of the list.

I don't even use usb adaptors any more at home, I replaced my wall ac sockets with new ones with usb chargers built in, it charges my T800 at 1750ma according to my usb power monitor, but the cable length and quality make a big difference to the charging speed.
Lots of poor quality and even dangerous version out there, check the reviews, buy from reputable dealers, these are going to last you for years so dont go cheap, I got the 2.4 amp UK version.

John.
I just bought one of these 6 port usb charger ( the built in display cycles though the voltage and amps) that the connected devices are consuming, this can help you get maximum charging speed on your usb devices by showing poor quality charging cables or damaged ones that only charge slow.
The led display is in an low brightness amber so you can see it in the dark.
It`s is very small at approx 3" x 2.5" x 1"
I got mine from eBay for £19.99
John.
Can someone tell me the product code (ΕP-TA???) from the stock charger that comes with TAB S 8.4 LTE?
I ' ve lost it and I would like to buy a new (genuine/retail always) one.
Thanks in advance

I suppose it depends on your country's plug type.

Hi Buddy !
Finnaly , I want your valuable opinion to buy a new charger and cable for my t800.
The original one does not work anymore, but the USB port of the tablet is good\perfect ! ( tablet is stock, no root, no knox brokken xD )
So many reference.. I'm lost ! Give me one link for buying the best ! Yeeeeeaaa
Thank you very much friends.
Preference for amazon because I am Belgian. Good day or good night =)
Make sure to buy a branded charger but beware of fakes and prices that look too good, look though the reviews on Amazon, Get one at least 2.4amp, Maybe get one of the new quickcharge models though your T800 does not have quickcharge it`s handy to have for the future your phone might already support quickcharge.
Anker do good charger`s and cables you cannot go wrong.
John.
Thanks you John.
Looking on amazon right now.
Have nice day

Those cables are really long 180cm 1.8meters, The longer the cable the slower your tablet will charge, The shorter the better.
John.

+1, for US please. Can someone at least post the volts and amps so I can purchase a suitable replacement? I'm stuck with the flickering screen/reboot/green lines issue but it appears to work if left plugged in. All of the chargers in my collection aren't powerful enough to keep this thing turned on.
Edit: US version? https://www.amazon.com/Anker-Charge...coding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=GFARWNVF133GMXZNRS9J
Look any good?
Anker are generally very good chargers and recommended.
I finally found at a local store the original charger (European version). @headlearning: Specs on the photo Hope it helps.

Wow, thanks very much for that info. I found my original OEM plug and USB cable. The device is completely unusable at this stage due to the flickering screen of death, even when plugged in.
I may try reseating the battery plug and reverting back to Kit Kat to see if I can salvage it.

I' m afraid that rolling back to kit kat won' t help you.
Also, it might be dangerous (for bricking the tablet) if you have recently upgraded to MM and roll back to Kit Kat with MM bootloader+modem ( +the withered condition of the battery).
Given the fact that your tablet presents also the "sudden-reboot" after the screen flickering then your battery is drained and needs replacement.
The same thing occurred to me, I visited the Samsung Repair Centre [after the advice from (local) forum members] and they replaced the battery charging me about 26.5 euros (unfortunately the tablet warranty doesn't cover the battery -also the new battery has a 6-month warranty ).
You don' t have anything to lose by paying a visit to a Samsung R.C.
