HTC EVO 4G LTE, Samsung Galaxy Nexus, or Samsung Galaxy SIII - General Questions and Answers

My upgrade comes July 1st and I'm having trouble deciding what phone I want to upgrade from my HTC EVO 4G. My main concern and arguments were that the Galaxy Nexus doesn't have an expandable memory slot and, from what I've heard, the camera isn't that great (I use the camera a lot), I've heard of the Galaxy SIII having crap build quality, and I'm scared that both that and the EVO 4G LTE wont get updated very much after I get them or even close. So I was hoping someone here could help me with a decision.......

Comparisons
That depends on your what you are going to use it for. The HTC EVO 4G LTE and Samsung Galaxy SIII (US versions) both have a 1.5Ghz Snapdragon S4 processor which is faster than the Galaxy Nexus (1.2GHz TI OMAP 4460 processor), so those two win for speed. The Galaxy Nexus will be the first to get updates, so that is the best choice for users who want the latest version of Android. The Galaxy SIII wins for the biggest screen (4.8), second is EVO 4G LTE (4.7), and last is Galaxy Nexus (4.65). Both the Galaxy SIII and Nexus have a Super AMOLED HD display while the EVO 4G LTE has a Super-LCD 2 HD display which means that the EVO is clearer thanks to its arrangement. Galaxy SIII (8MP) has the best camera, followed by the EVO 4G LTE (8MP), and in last place is the Nexus (5MP), all of these phones can record in 1080p HD.
Now for their unique features:
Samsung Galaxy SIII has S-Voice, S-Beam, face recognition time-out, mood options in music player
HTC EVO 4G LTE has Beats Audio, music player integrated with Soundhound, kickstand (like the OG EVO)
Samsung Galaxy Nexus has Google Now (only on Jelly Bean), super-smoothness (Jelly Bean), virtual buttons
Hoped this helped make a decision. Sorry if this is a lot.

go for nexus
u shld b going for nexus as its gets upgrades and its a pure android
and it has enough inbuilt memory so no need to worry abt memory
and as per smartphone its a gud camera quality
s3 is new but its built is really crap and if u will b going for htc evo u will b struct no upgrades choose wisely live well

HTC evo 4g
HTC EVO 4G LTE is the smart choice according to me...

I'm waiting for Windows Phone 8 devices
I've had my eye on the Galaxy Note for a while. I'm a little worried that it's only the first of a new line though and that it could be out dated quickly with the rate mobile technology is moving these days. Alternatively, I was thinking about the Galaxy SIII, but since it's not out yet it's hard to see how it will actually stack up.
What's everyone else think about that?

Not sure yet, but seeing as my HTC has had its life dramatically extended by HTC unlocking bootloader for thier devices and so making it much easier to root and mod I am finding it difficult to find a complelling reason to move from HTC

Galaxy SIII
I definitely want a bigger screen. I have the DROID Bionic now and am interested in seeing what Verizon brings to the table this summer, hoping its better than there lackluster options last summer (Droid 3, Droid X2)
I am very interested in the Galaxy S3. Like I said the next thing I want in my next phone is a bigger screen, but not really taken up with onscreen keys like the Nexus. I would be OK picking up a Note variant if Verizon got it this summer, but anything with a quad core would be cool just too say I have it, even if it really isnt necessary.
Galaxy Note (TMobile). I have been saying Galaxy Note is the "best smartphone of 2012" ever since it was announced back in 2011. Now both One X and S3 specs are out and none of them have changed my mind.
I will for sure choose between a Galaxy S3 and One X

I was wavering between those two phones and I pre-ordered the SIII because it has a replaceable battery. I love to have long life so I will probably get an extended battery for it.
You can get the Galaxy Nexus for Sprint. It is a google phone and basically there is a huge developer base for it. I'm sure there are tons of ROMs that are MIUI themed for it. It is also plenty fast sporting a dual core cpu and 1GB of RAM.
Galaxy Nexus or HTC One X
*Derp*
He's on Sprint. So HTC One X would be the HTC EVO 4G LTE.
P.S. The GSIII will probably have a WAY bigger developer party, one of them being I . The phone has more preorders then the iPhone...
I heard about the one x. Thought it was only for at&t. So the evolution 4g lte is a upgrade from the 3d?

Looking for new phone

Hi,
I'm currently on a Samsung Galaxy S. I really like it, and thanks to all these awesome developers, I even have ICS.
But sometimes it's too slow and it doesn't have enough RAM.
Last week I went to a shop and played with the new Galaxy 3, but it's too big, I can't even dial with one hand, then I tried the iPhone and I liked it, not the OS, the small size and snappy reactions.
So my question is there a new and powerful but small smartphone?
Best with a high resolution display (oled)
Even my current phone is almost to big, but would be okay.
So
3,3inch (iPhone?) - 3,7inch (Galaxy)
Dual core or quad core
1GB ram
16GB memory
High resolution display
ICS and future jelly bean support
Thanks and take care
-Chris

Yes, Galaxy S III is too big.
Galaxy S II is the perfect choice. It is just a little bit bigger than Galaxy S, but is thinner and lighter.
Also it won the contest of the Best Smartphone of 2011 over iPhone 4S.
Accessories, batteries, covers and cases for Galaxy S II are available for a very small prices everywhere.
It is fast and sexy.
The price is the lowest today (1 year after the introducing on Market).
S II is the best price/quality choice.
Well bigger is the problem sometimes I even have problems with the Galaxy 1.
Small hands. Not made for current smartphones
And nothing in the same regions of an iPhone, small size, dual core and high resolution display?
Xperia might be a good choice for you..Small screen and good specs..

Actually I read somewhere that a guy did surgically lengthen his joints for a new smartphone
But doesn't the Sony have nearly the same or slightly worse specs than than the Galaxy, I don't want to make a step back.
then nexus might be your choice...BTW,Why not try a hand on Lumia?

New phone suggestions

Hi folks,
I have been using my HTC desire s for the past 1 Year and em feeling a lot intimate with it. recently my screen got cracked and so I plan on getting a new mobile, after a big walk around the forums I found HTC sensation and Galaxy s2 are the ones having a good feedback and also fits my budget. Now em in a duo of which one to select I like htc sense ui a lot but Samsung is well known for its source code release stuff (I'm a flashalcholic). Please suggest me a good mobile my budget is 400 to 450 usd (max 25000 INR)

I'm a lil baised but the EVO 3D or the 4G LTE seem really good but I've also heard the Samsung Galaxy S2 or S3 are both great devices and all of those are in your price range.
Ive had the htc sensation and the galaxy s3 not the s2 but me personally i would go with the samsung galaxy s2 seems to be alot of development for both phones but the s2 being more popular would have more devolopment with newer roms in the future i would think. Plus the screen on the galaxy is s2 is better then the sensation in my opinion
HTC One X
Sensation and S2 are both old phones. Or a Galaxy Nexus, much cheaper choice.

S3 as it is one of the best devices at the moment with very strong spcs. However galaxy nexus is also a very strong device. It like i9100. ( little weaker) but as it from google sources, it 'll get every new software update. Don't forget that nexus s has jellybean 4.1 and galaxy s (i9000,9001,9003,9030) gingerbread 2.3.6!!!!!!!

Which phone should I get?

Well, as the title reads, which phone should I get next? My AT&T contract will be fulfilled in the next couple of months so, I've been looking at available AT&T phones. I currently have an HTC Desire Z and I love the size of it - easy to put in and take out of my jeans pocket. Most of the new phones I see are so big they should come with a back pack for them. Can anyone recommend a late model, fast phone that isn't as huge as the HTC One X and Samsung G3? And, please don't say "Iphone".
No offence but they don't sell those phones without camera anymore welcome to 2012 almost 13 everything is big now TV's cellphones etc

I think ~5" is the perfect size for a smartphone - big enough screen to see things and enjoy it, but small enough to still use effectively with one hand.
Honestly, I remember the first cell-phone I ever used and it was WAY bigger.
If you do want something smaller, though - I don't know, I'd probably look at international phones that would work with ATT, or just go into an ATT store or such and look around. The Galaxy S3 Mini is smaller, but I don't know how well it will work on ATT and what you could expect (it lacks LTE, I've heard). It also depends on the performance you're expecting.
have you considered one of those quality Chinese android handsets ?
things like the Newman N1, GooPhone, ZTE V970 etc ?
I think you should go with Galaxy S3. I am also using this phone last some months it's a superb mobile phone bacase it has 4.8 inch Superb Super AMOLED display with saturated colors and high contrast with 8 megapixel camera with autofocus, flash and HD video recording, 4.0 android operating system, Quad-core 1.4 GHz Processor and 2050 mAh battery capacity. You can read full details here:
themobileindian.com/handset-guide/details/Samsung-Galaxy-SIII
Thanks for all the replies! I do plan to look around the AT&T store but sometimes its a little overwhelming when I start diving into the specs for every phone.
I was not aware of the "quality" made chinese phones; I may look into that.
Thanks again for the help and if there are anymore recommendations please, keep them coming.

Getting my kid a new phone for Christmas (she has my old Droid X). Was contemplating an IPhone, soley because of the incredible speech-to-text features (something my Bionic is woefully poor at) Sales dude at Verizon showed me what a Samsung can do in that realm....was utterly impressed....no diference from the 'Sirry' IPhone thing (apparently it hinges on a google service)
what's your budget? Desire z is mid range so if your budget is about the same then look at Galaxy S2.
Budget will be determined by AT&T having a phone I will settle with on a contract extension so, I guess my budget will be $200~300.
C
Best phone on the market at the minute (*arguably*) is the ASUS Padfone 2.. but sadly it isn't available in the US (no US release date mentioned yet either).. so would probably say the LTE version of the Samsung Galaxy S3 would be a contender..
I'm not really looking at the IPhone 5 but will the IPhone 5 sync with my google contacts and google calendar? That's one thing I really like about the android phones. From my research the iphone 5 can be made to sync with all my google stuff but how effective/accurate is it? Are there any bugs or issues with this?

I just took the Huawei U8836d shine and i'm very happy with it. Changed the stock rom to custom and has great battery life than other chinese brands. Great design. gorilla glass and sturdy materials plus very thin and comfortable. Check it out.

Galaxy Ace for your Preffered Size
I would Suggest to go for Samsung Galaxy Ace or You can Opt for Huawei Ascend.
I will suggest you to don't go for small screen size as 2013 will be the Year of Big Screens so if you are willing then go for Note II you will love it and Also will get use to its Big Size.
