Ordroid 9.0.0 - HTC Sensation

Does ordroid 9.0.0 have working WiFi calling and WiFi hotspot.
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using XDA

As far as I know, for wifi tether, it only works using 3rd party APP (can't remember the name, it had a yellow icon, and it was provided in older versions of the rom), but it does not work with stock feature.
In fact, I think it doesn't work in any of the sense 4 available roms out there. I guess it's something ruu base related (remember back of those days when bluetooth wasn't working, and in the meantime it got fixed).
wifi calling related, I cannot tell, as it is not an available feature in my country (only via skype, and the like).

ordroid has working wifi but if you want tethering you need wifi tether app confirmed working, just get the settings correct. IM using akop eye candy now, same tethering app is still working. If you need help with the settings let me know il help. I was running o rdroid before aokp so I know it works. hope this helps. The app worked in 4 out of 5 roms. Only ROM it did not work on was imagination.
Its a free at in the playstore . simply called wifi tether. Its a God send!

Ordriod 9.0.0 tether reply
Im currently using the Ordroid rom 9.0.0 and its flawless as far as butter goes , the hotspot problem
for most is big for me i personally dont like it anymore because i have a SIMPLE mobile sim running on T-mobiles towers
and i used hotspot for about 4 days when i recieved an email that i violated the terms and conditions of the data part of the contract
because i was using a program that appeard to be running my data memory therfore i was left in the dark with no internet for 3 weeks so wifi
hotspot not an option for me just be careful and read you service providers terms before turning on your hot spot

Maybe try the ViperS ROM. That's a new ROM, and shnizlon (the creator of ordroid ROM) joined the development. As I know, the ordroid project is finished.

They solved the wifi tethering problem, and you can update the ROM via OTA.

Wi-fi Calling And CM7 Based ROMs

What's the deal with wi-fi calling working sporadically with CM7 based ROMS? Or...am I the only one experiencing this? Maybe 1/5th of the time I'm connected to wifi will it work. It's not my router or lan (I know what I'm doing in that realm) +my wife's G2X was working the whole time she had the unmolested phone from T-Mobile. Even after I flashed hers with a 2.3.3 (two days ago) it's worked as it should.
Bump d bump.
I'm not using CM7, but it's happening to me, too. From what I've read over the last few days, this is more of a hardware issue than a ROM issue. For me my 4G often stays on while the wifi is enabled. My wife has a G2x running the same kernel and ROM as mine, and hers has no problems. It's really annoying.
You're not using a CM7 derivitive and you're having issues? Odd. I've only experienced it on CM7 based ROMs. Every 2.3.3/ota/stock based ROM connects with nary a problem.

Have you tried using one of the kangs ..there's fitsnuglys and rustys ... I pretty much use fits' kangs, he uses only certain commits in his kangs and from what I understand rustys contain all off the commits up to date... I've never really had a problem with wifi calling and I use it a lot at work...
I haven't. This is my 1st smartphone. 1st time rooting/custom rom'ing and the "kang" sounded too scarey! Might have to give it try though, i miss sixaxis.
Thanks for the tip.
I've had similar problems where the 4G icon stays on with the Wifi and wifi calling enabled along with not being able to get mms to send or receive but sms works fine with wifi calling enabled. I also had the mms problem on the rooted tweaked OTA rom.

I've had some of the same problems in the past... I've also had mms work over wifi no problem but I've flashed slow many I can't remember which one it was.. LOL.. I really have to start keeping track... IMHO my phone functions better for me when I run a custom rom than a stock .. wifi calling is a must for me because my garage gives me horrible reception and I can't be missing customers calls and I usually only have that problem when running a stock rom...

It works! Well, it worked all night and into the morning. Have never had that with any other CM7 ROM. I wonder what Fits' kang does differently. Any "gotcha's" I need to know about?

Wifi Calling App from One S ROM TMO US Version?

Hello,
If anyone is lucky enough to have the new US Version of the HTC One S for T-mobile?
If so would it be possible to post the wifi calling app? It would be great help as this is the fist device T-Mobile has released with ICS and the updated wifi calling app.
Thanks!
On the new wifi calling phones there isn't an app, it's built into the framework and accessed through settings > wireless & networks
Thats great news! So wifi calling has an always on option still I assume right?
I live off of it with bad reception at my apartment building so I'm glad to hear it will be built into the HTC one S

Betting there's still something that could be done to get it into custom roms.

Of course there is a chance WiFi calling is the same as the gs2built into the framework and they managed to get it working on customs roms

I'm using the wifi calling one s daily and it works differently than it did on my sensation....
The one s shuts down the mobile network and displays the no signal x next to the bars, and all calls and text run off wifi. The sensation would keep the network running alongside wifi. The one s is very stable doing this. A custom rom would require a base framework to build on. I don't think it could be added in

That's cuz its just a standalone apk with a few libs in the system. And T-Mobile hasn't released ics yet for the sensation so the old gingerbread apk isn't working right on ics and it won't until T-Mobile releases the ics update if ever.

Tmo did release ics for sensation not too long ago. I wonder why the devs couldn't integrate it properly..... Things like this is what's keeping me from modding the one s
Second that...It's so flawless so far (aside from the bloatware, all of which could either be disabled or removed w/o root) I'm afraid to mess with it.
Virtuous Team is working on the integration for their next release. No final results yet, but you can watch progress in their RootzWiki Thread.
FYI, I've been monitoring this thread looking for the ICS WiFi calling app, but found it elsewhere so thought I'd share in case anyone else is watching this thread. EdKeys has it for Desire/G2 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1664106) and bigmoew for Sensation (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1654940)
I rooted my phone and updated to trickDroid 2.1 (US T-Mobile) but the Android WiFi tethering app didn't work. I downloaded FoxWi and I had no problem connecting after that.

I did a complete wipe, as I wanted to reloaded the OS at the same time, though I'm betting it would work just by downloading and flashing the radio with .19 (VISION_RADIO_12.62.60.27_26.13.04.19.zip), installing the wifi calling app (VisionWifiCallingv1.2_Android4.x.x.zip), and finally wiping the cache, dalvik cache and EFS (by installing vision_wipe_efs-signed.zip).
I can't include the links as I haven't been a member long enough, but they are in EdKeys' post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1664106.
Don't forget that I'm on the G2, NOT the One S.

next time try not to post misleading stuff. the g2 you are using has nothing in common with the htc one s and we are talking about the htc one s wifi calling feature not about some random phone on xda forums.
Sorry, I figured if we we had it for the G2 and Sensation it should be available for the One S with simple modifications.

Not quite....thanks for trying to help though. WiFi calling has been integrated for stability purposes....With a standalone app, it was liable to drop calls a lot more. At least that was my experience with the Sensation. Now it's much better and more stable. Virtuous will get it working, and hope they provide a how-to so we can get it working on other ROMs that aren't T-Mobile US....
Thanks for trying to help out though....

Solution for T-mobile US Wifi Calling on ICS Roms?

Hello,
I have a Sensation 4G and having flashed many different ICS Based ROMs (CoreDroid, Android Revolution HD, RCMix etc) and it seems that the Wifi Calling does not work due to the fact the app is not compatible with ICS. Now that the first HTC Device running ICS has been released (THE ONE S) I assume this has the updated wifi calling app that would work on the Sensation ICS Roms. I have been trying to get the Rom so I can extract the Wifi Calling App but so far no luck. Anyone think this is worth a shot?
Trying to find a way to get Wifi Calling working on our Sensation with ICS!
Thanks Devs you are a talented bunch!
Any ICS rom I try that includes wifi calling, it works fine.

Well considering the One S on T-Mobile does NOT support WiFi calling yet, I'd say no, its not worth a shot. The app is not present on the T-Mobile software currently running on the One S.
Remember WiFi calling is from tmob not HTC and they have not updated it yet so just wait for a bit but yeah if we want WiFi calling that's were we will get it from

The T-Mobile branded HTC One S does have Wifi Calling. Out of the box. The difference is, in my understanding, that it is now baked into the ROM. It is no longer a separate app.
The ZDNet review mentions using it on the device, for example (sorry, not allowed to post links), google it, it's from April 18.
I've used it...the software I saw did NOT have support YET (at least not on the demo/review unit I saw). I know it definitely is going to support it though, especially with the eventual launch of T-Mobile's gen 2 WiFi calling. As for the ZDnet article I can't comment, as I haven't read, and don't plan to read it, however, I will say that I saw the unit personally before April 18, so maybe software has updated in anticipation of tomorrow's launch.
Either way the best bet for pulling the updated libs and app is the newly leaked Amaze 4G ICS build here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1615164
Thank you so much Behold_this, your a genius! I'm going to see if I can find the Wifi Calling libs and modules and app and report back with any luck.
As of my testing, The ICS roms with sense 3.6 for the sensation 4g has had the Wifi Calling problem where it crashes when you make / receive a phone call. The wifi calling app works for SMS and MMS messages fine though. Just not phone calls.
The updated version will be better compatible with ICS.
Just remember to deodex the Rom before you pull the app
Thanks again for the advice. I have not been able to successfully figure out which apps / libs need to be pulled and deodexed. Still promising though

[Q] Is there an ICS Rom with a solid working WiFi Tether connection?

I am looking for an ICS rom that has a solid working Wifi-Tether program/connection/solution?
I'm a sys admin and like to work remotely...sometimes in places where there is no net connectivity.
If anybody has a suggestion for me...I am greatly appreciative!!
Even if its not ICS, I am open to downgrade until they hopefully sort it out with CM9.
Thanks everybody!
On any ICS ROM:
1) Download Barnacle and Wifi Tether for Root Users.
2) Open Barnacle, check "skip wpa supplicant" in settings, run it, then turn it off once it's closed.
3) Run Wifi Tether and connect your device to your phone.

Thanks...I understand about barnacle and skipping the wpa supplicant...but what do I do after that, because I still cannot get it to work properly??
not sure but I think VirtuousRom's primadonna might do; they say it's alpha but I use it as a daily driver and only have to reboot once a day ;-)
The latest cyanogenmod9 alpha5 by tbalden & korneyone now natively supports the wifi tethering. I've been using it for several months and the bugs are almost non-existent (certainly unnoticeable to the majority). I think the only one that most people would notice is the lack of 1080p support (but 720p still works perfectly)! There's a few others out there, but they are mainly only in the more obscure features.

Hi, as @Shadows... said : since your using CM10, you should not have any trouble turning wifitether on. Just turn it on in settings.
FYI, if you don't want to download any apps that will definitely give you a bunch of craps, I recommend you flash this ROM :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2074328
It's based on the stock ATT Jelly Bean, but WAY BETTER ! Lots of toggles, smart-stay....There is technically nothing different from the original leaked J.B, except this one is a lot better.
There is no hassle turning wifi-tether on !
If you don't want to flash this rom, download : Easy wifi tethering. It always works for me. But since its a free app, it gives you a lot of ads that will appear on your home screen.
tether no longer working on JB based roms?
