I don't know how it got this way but can someone help me get rid of it?

App List
Is your concern that the list has letters separating the apps alphabetically? This is actually a feature of the 710/Lumia line and happens automatically when your # of apps exceeds some specific #, maybe 40?
It's not a feature of the 710 or Lumia line, it's a feature of the OS.
Edit: To get rid of the index letters, in a interop unocked phone you can acces the registry and change the following key:
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Start
DWORD: GroupingThreshold
Change it to a number higher than the total of apps you have installed on the phone (tested on a Omnia 7, worked).
Oh okay. Thanks guys.

Hello I'm new to Windows Phone 7 (was into the whole jailbreaking on iPhone before) but before I try the whole unlocking thing I want to know a few things:
Is it possible to install and use Advanced Config to change accent colors etc on my HTC Titan.
Secondly is it possible to use this whole unlocking thing to install for example Samsung or Nokia exclusive apps on my HTC Titan.
If either of these two are possible I'd like to unlock with Chevronlabs (already paid for it), if not, then I don't see any reason to unlock or whatever.
Also how do I proceed after that. I mean I looked into the hacking en developing board but I don't understand any of it. With all those different Mango versions and different device requirements etc. It was all way easier with the iPhone/iPad.
Device model: HTC Titan X310e
Software: Windows Phone 7.5
OS: 7.10.7720.68
Hello,
acutally you can only unlock the phone using developer unlock (official or chevron) to sideload XAPs files. However on Mango it is not possible to install XAPs requiring the INTEROP capability (such as registry editors or, unfortunately, Advanced Config).
You will have to wait for a INTEROP-UNLOCK for HTC to install that program since the only way to do this is to downgrade to NoDo and hack it, which I think is not possible on HTC Radar since it comes with Mango preinstalled.
EDIT: For Nokia or Samsung apps I do not know but I hope for Nokia ones .
Thanks. So no reason to unlock yet Really hoped for Advanced Config too bad.
Oh, there are some good homebrew apps that don't need ID_CAP_INTEROPSERVICES.
Webserver: Easy way to transfer files between computers; don't even need a USB cable just wifi and a web browser which are pretty much everywhere.
Screen capture: Sometimes it's useful to be able to make screenshots, to show something off or explain something more clearly.
Folders: Categorize and group your apps. It's basically custom "hubs" of apps, except the tiles can deep-link as well.
There are a few more, those are just the ones that come to mind. If you've got any coding and/or security skills, feel free to start taking apart the ROM dumps or HTC apps and trying to find a way to interop-unlock them. I'm sure there's a way; we still have a ton to learn about this OS. Three months or so back, we didn't think it was possible to run native code at all without interop-unlock.

Sounds interesting. I'll give it a try then anyway thanks.
Hello!
Im using Vodafone CZ but instead im getting "VodafoneYYYYYYYYYYY" carrier name on my HD2 (Pdaimatejam Rom Wp7.5 mango 7740 v3a) and its drive me insane.
Is there any way to change it ?
Thanks.
Yes. there is. you can change its display name by writing the name you want into the proper registry value.
where can i change registry for carrier name?
Just locate on "Local Machine\Software\Microsoft\RIL\OperatorNames", it exists on my Focus, but I don't know which it's your carrier's key. Now I am using China union's network and my key is 46001, then update the name you want as string value to the correct key and reboot Phone. that's what I do on my focus. it works really well.
I realize this post is old, but searched high and low....is there a list somewhere? I'm mainly looking for the string to use for T-Mobile in the US. I set my MobileOperator registry key to "TMO-US" for use on T-Mobile in the US but it still comes up as "US".
I have Rataplan Lite ROM loaded on a Lumia 710 and trying apps that should be able to change the carrier name in the phone app simply isn't working (it breaks the OEM Marketplace after a few attempts so don't want to push my luck again).
I tried Marketplace Config by ken52787 for instance - including trying to dig through its source code on Google Code so I'm coming here desperate for assistance.
Hello,
I bought a new windows phone (the Lumia 800) and i unlocked about a year ago my old wp7 with chervonWP7.
now when i am trying to unlock lumia 800 i always get an error that says that i need to connect my device to zune and blablalbla....
The only reason that i want to unlock my Lumia 800 it's because i want to install a keypad with my Language (Hebrew).
There is a way that i can add the keypad to my device without unlocking my device and how can i solve the problem.
Thank you.
I dont think that you can install a app like that without a unlock.
Dev-unlock is available for all devices, if you get an AppHub account. However, I believe adding or modifying a keyboard requires registry modification, so you'd need interop-unlock for that. Currently, only a few Lumia 800s can be interop- or full-unlocked (it depends on which bootloader they have). More info: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1587650
I tried to install gun bros this morning and halfway thru the installation it freezes
After reseting the phone, i cannot access the following

xbox live
Camera (barely - take a photo and it gets stuck)
Internet (barely - cant access favorite)
ALL THIRD PARTY APPS ==> CANNOT ACCESS
The following still works
People

Messaging
methods tried
1. Sync with pc - see if it automatically fixes = no
- cannot sync media
- cannot access backup

2. Switched battery, took out the sim card
I am not updated to Tango yet.
Is there anyway other than hard reset this phone? T_T
Does anyone know if you factory reset a phone, can it still go back to using the old backups?
Yes, you can still restore from backups after a hard reset. I've done it a few times on a couple of different handsets.
What model of phone is it?
Have you installed your own SD card in it (replacing the built-in one or adding your own, depending on model)?
Have you been messing with it in any hacky way (for example, do you have WP7 Root Tools installed, or have you flashed a custom ROM)?
Mozart 7 - chevron unlocked
No custom sd or rom
I ended up resetting it and return to my old backup. But now I don't have tether update anymore from HTC and the only update I keep receiving is tango... And I don't want to update to tango because I will lose my chevron unlock!
The frustration sigh..

Do you mean ChevronWP7 Labs unlock, or the original Chevron Unlocker hack? If you've managed to carry the unlock hack forward this far (i.e. to Mango), you must have already interop-unlocked your phone. In that case, your best bet is to use WP7 Root Tools and follow the instructions on WindowsPhoneHacker about how to upgrade to Tango without your phone connecting to Microsoft to validate its unlock status. Even if you don't have WP7 Root Tools installed right now, your firmware version may now be compatible after you restored that backup.
If you have a Chevron Labs unlock, then you also now have a free AppHub account for official developer unlock, and that will give you the same amount of unlock access as Chevron Labs unlock does.
Lol I'm on chevron original unlock! Carried till latest mango with no interop unlock! I know that after 1 of the HTC update I couldn't use the registry editor anymore.
My current problem is that I restored to a backup without tethering, and I can't get that update anymore because I keep receiving the tango update instead

All of the published ways to carry your original Chevron unlock forward to Mango also included interop-unlock (which is just the removal of the app sideloading limit), although you may not have known that.
I repeat, what firmware version are you on right now? Also, even if it doesn't *work*, can you at least launch the registry editor app? The answer to the first question will tell me how many HTC updates you have currently (and therefore what hacks can be used). The answer to the second will tell me whether or not you are, in fact, interop-unlocked (if you can launch apps like Registry Editor at all, regardless of whether they work, you're interop-unlocked).
Um ur actually talking to the same person on the mango interop unlock thread... Lol
OS version:
7.10.8107.79
Firmware revision number
2250.21.50001.707
Radio software version
5.69.09.05a_22.50.50.21U
Bootloader version
5.12.2250.5(139188
U pointed out it is 50001 already so it should be v2
But I replied that I have never applied the interop hack and I DO have access to registry editor still right now
Thank you for your responses, hopefully I'm not confusing u too much.

The hack to carry your Chevron unlock forward to Mango *is* an interop unlock. There's many ways to apply the hack; the one you're probably thinking of is special only because it works for people who are already on Mango and didn't prepare their phones in any way beforehand.
That said, your firmware version is too high, as you say. If you don't downgrade that somehow, you won't be able to install WP7 Root Tools and therefore will lose your hacked unlock when you upgrade to Mango.
Hey guys, Im new on XDA so please forgive if it sounds stupid. So apparently I am not able to install Custom pfd on my device and I stopped trying. I can uses the resistry ediot though i.e Interop toops beta 1.7 by Gustave. I wanted to know hot to edit the registry so that I could manually enable on screen navigation keys instead of the hardware ones. I use a Nokia Lumia 1320 running windows 10 build 10586.318. Appreciate your replies
