Hey guys n' girls,
I need a few spares for my XDA 2 (these are gonna seem odd, but what the hell); the things i need are:
1. that crappy rubbery cover that goes over the headset jack, i lost mine, i dunno how.
2. The back cover that goes over the battery, i ruined mine, lol. dont ask how!
3. The piece above the battery cover, (the other cover, lol) it covers the camera module/aerial piece and the little circle rubber thing that goes over the external antenna connector.
4. I need a spare battery as well (preferably a higher power/capacity one; does the XDA 2i one work in the XDA 2? if it does then i need an XDA 2i battery)
5. A new Headset, I messed mine up completely!! no joke, i still have it but i dunno how to fix all the wires back together; besides the volume control is messed up, so its not worth putting the wires back together!
6. I also need the volume control switch; the one on the side, i dropped my XDA 2 and the ridges on it got flattened! Bloody trains; the rides are never smooth!
Thas it, if anyone has any or all of these (basically has an XDA 2 which doesnt work at all, and can provide me with these spares, then it will be much appreciated! i know some are weird spares but its urgent and i need them! let me know anyone, i'll obviously pay for the parts!)
Thanks!
Hi hafizur,
You can check out these guys in the U.K.
http://www.siansmobiles.co.uk
They sell the full housing... A bit expensive IMHO, but for a so messed up XDA2 like yours it's well worth it  ...
P.S.- It's amazing to see posts like this left unanswered for so many days!!! :?
I know that not many people know some answers, but I can't believe I'm the only one that knows a place where they sell at least some XDA2 parts...
Oh, well...
P.S2.- It will be nice to know what kind of punishment your XDA2 went through to be in such bad shape!... C'mon, share the complete story!!!
Good luck!
Hello all!
I recently got the Invisible shield for my HTC FUZE so I thought I would install it and post up the video of the install, I did this as somewhat of an instructional video and tried to be as informative and professional about the install as possible. If anyone has any questions regarding the Invisible Shield or if you are thinking about purchasing one, please check my video out!
There was another one on YouTube, but I didn't like the way the person went about installing their fuze shield, just because it didn't seem like their phone was very clean to start with etc etc... anywho, I mention in the video that I am a bit of a perfectionist, so this is about the cleanest install I think you could get (hope so at least).
Please post your comment and questions!

First video of a set is up now! I had to split my original video into many separate parts! Pretty lame that YouTube only allows 10 Minute Videos :-\!
Anywho! New link is in post 1 and here it is again: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3L9QVmPecRk
I am currently splitting the rest of the videos and will add the links as soon as they are finished!
as an update!
This invisible shield had all of last night to dry and sure enough many of the little bubbles seen in the video on the screen are disappearing! Pretty excited
Thx

Can't wait for the rest! You're providing invaluable information to me. I decided to get the FULL BODY for my Fuze this time too AND I just got mine in too! I had a Verizon XV6800 before and I went through about 10 different screen protectors until I got the Zagg. Not a scratch on my screen or protector after 5 months or so of use in my pocket with keys, etc. So, that sold me on the whole body cover.
Please hurry up with the rest of your video. Looking in my package I see tons of little pieces after the screen is on. Where do they all go? Your video is invaluable and should be picked up by Zagg. I would hope that they would at least extend to you products for life.
Nice job!

Also can't wait to see the rest and your review after a few days use of it! Just ordered mine right now with next day shipping. Going to get a new fuze and right out of the box before even turning the phone on im gonna install this puppy right now there and let it sit for about 12-14hrs. Was looking for something just like this.
Very good job. This shielding procedure is too hard because our hands are shaking

Very sorry for the delay on posting the videos! I will get the rest up this evening! I just started college classes!
So far I really like the cover, it has a bit of a different feel in comparison to previous covers i have used, especially on the screen.
Pros:
Obvious 0 scratches to phone AT ALL, basically impossible.
Increased friction coefficient so phone doesn't slip from hands etc(also check cons)
No worries at all to just throw phone in pocket, even if I have change or keys in there! (not recommended, but a good example of the great protection)
Cons:
A few very VERY small micro bubbles on the screen haven't quite made their way out yet, they seem to be getting smaller as each day passes. Hopefully they will make their way out.
Sometimes the battery cover will actually slip off coming out of my pocket, due to the high friction covering (this is not a big issue, but I have noticed it and it has happened more than once, maybe my pockets are just to tight ;-) )
Video review shall come soon and I will post the other videos ASAP!
Thx
JFlitt
good video there. and the Fuze looks really small on your hands
Excellent video. I just got my IS for FUZE, and started to apply as per the video. It was very tough to apply the back corner near the camera, it does not stay. At last it worked and looks very good, I still did not complete it and will complete the rest when the other parts of the video are posted. Thanks for this very nice video.

Well if its anyting like tinting a car window then i say the micro bubbles should completely dissapear in a few days time. After i got my windows limo tinted on my car the next day there was a ton of micro bubbles all over! I called the company giving them an ear full not knowing any better. A few days went by and every single micro bubble went away, zero bubbles on my window tint. Maybe it just needs a day or two?

Haha, i know what u feel bro. Not gonna touch mine until i watch this entire series several times probably. Im a huge perfectionist just like the author here so my install will probably take 30 minutes too! Haha.
I've got Part 4 on its way uploading (slow connection here at my apt GRR), and Part 5 is encoding! So sorry for the delay!
Looks like part 4 is done!!!
Part 4: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_0Q4kbDk0Js
The Micro Bubbles do seem to get smaller and smaller each day!
If i could recommend anything from my install, I would say use enough/plenty of the spray on the bigger parts as the little parts don't need much at all! If I had used a bit more spray my covers may have gone on even easier! Just take care if more spray is used, as the cover will move until it has time to dry!
Thanks alot for the support and I appreciate that my videos are helping!
Thanks so much

Haha I do have big hands!
I am a bit disappointed that youtube isn't displaying these Widescreen, I see that it is doing HD like it is supposed to but, its not doing widescreen as they are formated before the upload...! hmm
Any who, your comments and ratings on the actual videos are appreciated as they will get them seen by even more people on you tube!
I'm not sure who did that original Fuze Invisible Shield install video but I didn't like how much he touched the sticky side of the cover, imho that is a bad thing to do!
anywho, ratings on youtube are appreciated!

Great work, can't wait to try it out!
I have had great confidence in the build of the HTC products since I've never used a protector on my Wizard. It's beat up, missing paint and plastic, never kept anywhere but my pocket, and seems to have only gotten better with age. No duct tape yet but I know it will happen eventually!
My fear is that the shiney new Raph will get scratched up right off the bat and look like junk in a week. Plus, who knows how sensitive the hardware of the device will be...
Does the protector reduce the Fuze's tendency to be a fingerprint magnet? Seems like it definitely would.
Thanks KewlJ!

Looks staged to me. I have been doing SMT and hand soldering for years and it looks like someone took a iron and some soldier to it. I doubt that it got hot enough to melt soldier on its own even if it did catch fire that kinda heat would have done way more damage to the phone.
We were just talking about this in another thread, and I hate to be repetitive, but if you Google "<insert name of phone/manufacturer for just about any device> bursts into flames", you will get a ton of hits. Happens to iPhones all the time, and it's even happened to a few Skyrocket owners.

Sorry i wasnt looking for help or asking a question so i didnt even think to check if this has a thread yet lol
But ya just scares me a little.
Could you imagine holding that up to your face on a call and having that happed? Blegh
It's completely staged.
There are no internals anywhere near that spot that could have burned the plastic.
And the day right before the US launch?
I'd say it's Apple approved.

My thoughts exactly there is nothing that is going to get as hot as 728 degrees Fahrenheit in that area. The battery may be able to put out that kinda temps, maybe but that is further up in the phone, and other parts of the phone would have been damaged first not just the very bottom of it.

agreed...and a casing like it has would be cracked and melted in more than one place...especially if its like our phones with the cpu in the top
Lol, they'll do everything to ruin the launch of this phone. Sad.
I wonder if they were playing Draw Something. It will cause the phone to stay on and it to run hot. My phone got extremely hot one time doing this. I didn't notice it for a while because I was walking around. I sat down and the phone got pushed up against my leg.. That's when I noticed. Combine that with an over clocked/volted cpu and you have a fire waiting to happen.
I would like to know if his phone has been overclocked first off..

No need to apologize, my post came off wrong. I wasn't calling you out for a duplicate thread, I don't think there was one -- it was an off-topic discussion we were having in another thread. I just didn't want to go straight from that post to this one posting the same thing.
And yeah, that would suck. I'd rather have it happen to my face than have it go off in my pocket and burn my junk though...
Seriously though.. a bad lithium battery could cause that.
We all walk around with bombs in our pockets. That's why the laptop comes out of the bag at airports.

The battery is nowhere near that section of the phone.
Totally staged.
If you look at the iFixit tear down, there is nothing in that area of the phone to get hot and catch on fire.
I have highlighted the area in question from the tear down pics.
It's just PCB board with no components in that area.
I've been a member for quite a while, but don't think I've ever posted so please take it easy on me . I bought my husband a MyTouch 4g Slide and liked it, so I bought myself one (both used from Ebay). With my husbands, we had the black screen occasionally. I did some research and with a quick fix of the cover blocking something and switching it around - :victory:**** all set.
Mine (still running original software was running fine. Well, my youngest of 5 kids was apparently playing a game and got frustrated because it kept freezing or something and hit or banged the screen from what he told me -----
Anyway, when he gave me the phone it was this kind of white/reddish fuzzy looking color. I turned it off and tried to reboot. (yes, I've pulled the battery) and aside from the tiny little red light (LED) or the small green one in the same corner OCCASIONALLY coming on and an occasional vibration at that time - NOTHING, NADA, ZILCH....
On the good side, I didn't totally lose it and start screeming at him .... on the bad side, I have a phone I just bought (and like) and can't use it. I know that it might be a just toss and rebuy, but before I do, is there something we can replace (digitalizer/screen/etc)??
You guys up here are amazing and it's the first place I think to come for any of the phones we've had (HTC, MyTouch, SideKick) and I'm so thankful for the site. I figured if I was going to get right to the point and get a straight up answer, without getting scammed, this is the place.... sooooo, anything is better than nothing! Thanks!
Hello. Sounds to me like the LCD screen blew out. They blow out easily from being banged around pretty hard, especially on this particular phone. If the light turns on, then the phone is still alive. If it vibrates as well, then it's definitely still good, as the system is obviously still running. You should try replacing the LCD screen. If you've never done this type of thing, then I'll tell you this... it won't be very easy at all. HTC put so much damn adhesive all over this phone, it's ridiculous. They even glued the LCD to the digitizer, & really tight too.
If you try to do it yourself, or have someone do it for you, be very careful. You can get screens for cheap on ebay, but it may be troublesome to get it done. It's also hard to put them together while preventing dust from getting in there as well. Lint-free micro fiber rags, & maybe a hand air pump, will be very helpful to have around. You can see disassembly videos & tutorials online, like from repairsuniverse.

Thanks so much!! My husband and son "TINKER" with things like this....mostly bigger stuff like cars and all ... LOL... but lately a little bit with our laptops/psp type stuff. However, if I could find someone who does this a lot and it wasn't too expensive, that would probably be easier, especially with all the kids around here . Any idea where I could search for a reputable person (ebay, etc???). Also, when you say LCD, that would be like the ones I've seen on ebay that say LCD with digitalizer....right?? I really appreciate the info. I was hoping it might be something like that, something at least "possible". You rock. I'll let you know how it turns out.
it is a pain! and yeah it does sound like the lcd needs to be changed out, careful now because there are multiple lcds that htc used and they arent compatible, i would suggest opening it up first and then seeing which one to order
HERE IS SOME INSIGHT if you look to the third page or so you can see my experience with this phone. if you have someone who likes to tinker give them the project, as much of a pain as it is... its not too bad still i will suggest having them do a little research first though
good luck!

To have someone do it, I think it'd probably be best to search locally for a repair shop. If you live anywhere near a big city, they probably have some cell phone repair shops around that would be able to do it for you. Even check craigslist.
As for the screen itself, there are 2 parts. There is the LCD screen, or the actual TV screen itself, & there is a sheet of glass placed on top of it. That sheet of glass is called the digitizer. It is what senses your touch. The manufacturers seems to love gluing them together nowadays. Not like the myTouch 3G Slide which was not glued together & was so easy to take apart & deal with. But yeah, the LCD is the actual TV screen. That's what you likely need to change.

I just found these while doing random Google search. can anyone tell me if this is real. and it's so cheap I think I might buy one. It says on the website it works using bluetooth and works with phones? I found pictures of people wearing it it's smaller than the ear-hole you need to push it in a little deep and it's completely invisible. you have to pull it out with that antenna thing coming out. and just 10$?? this kind of technology should be atlease 100$ if its legit? I need your help?
