INTROHey Kindle Fire users,
As some of you know, I recently made a couple of boot animations for the Kindle Fire and many of you liked it. So I have decided to make more boot animations and will post my creations in this thread.
Thanks to despotovski01 for creating Boot Animation Factory and also to Hyperrunner for helping me out.
INSTRUCTIONS
1) Transfer the zip file to your Kindle (Do not unzip)
2) Use ES File Explorer or Root Explorer (or other similar app) to rename the file to bootanimation.zip
3) Use ES File Explorer or Root Explorer (or other similar app) to move the bootanimation.zip file to /system/media or /data/local
4) Make sure permissions look like the following (Thanks to webdroidmt for the tip)
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
5) Reboot and enjoy
DOWNLOADS
Unfortunately, the file hosting service I used doesn't support zip files anymore (or something ridiculous like that) and all the links just redirect you to the min.us homepage. I have tried contacting them about getting my files back, but unfortunately I've received no response. So it seems that the files are lost forever...

If you have any requests, please post in this thread. There is a "To Do/WIP" list in the 2nd post. I will try to keep it as updated as I can.
TO DO LIST
• CID Holding Kindle Fire Logo
• Rainbow Mods Boot Animation
Revised version 2 is up for downloading.
Fixed the choppy background. As a consequence, the file size is huge so I left the link for the other version up also.
I downloaded v2 and it is a lighted android not gederom screen

Did you rename it to bootanimation.zip and move it to /system/media ?
I have v2 on my Kindle and it's definitely a gedeROM screen. I can re-upload it if you want.
Nice work.
Great work on the animations. I was wondering if you would be able to make a tweak to the white and blue kindle fire animation though. You have the white line that scrolls through the words, the only problem is you cant see the white scroll through the white text. I was wondering if you can make it so is scrolls blue through the white text and still have it scroll white through the blue text. I think it would look great.

Love your Eyecandy bootanimation. You should make one for Glazed ROM with a donut incorporated in there somehow.

I see that josepho1997 took the incentive and made a tutorial on how to set up everything. I can make one on the specifics of actually making it using an image editing program.

im on ubuntu and have gimp.
any tips would be welcome.
is gimp the easiest way? as i have had a play and it seems quite in depth.
and yes veeman if you could make a tutorial with step by step (noob proof) instructions it would be great.
am i best to setup windows for graphics etc, most guides seem to be using windows?

GIMP is a great program but I haven't found a way to export as a PNG image sequence. Which means doing each frame by hand. When you're doing boot animations with 100+ frames, that is a lot of time. With Photoshop you can do the animations and then export as a PNG image sequence.
thanks
bring on that tutorial

I did not create these boot animations...I just made them compatible with Xperia x10
Compatible with all X10 ROMs
The first post will be our index for every boot animation posted here. If anyone creates an animation yourself and would like to share it here, please state so and I will credit you with having done so
To install these:
Download Root Explorer (or any other file manager with root permission)
Extract the zip files to your SD card (I prefer to extract to sd\boot animations just for organization purposes)
navigate within the animation folder to the bootanimation.zip archive...long press the zip file and select copy.
navigate back into your root folder.
make sure the text at the top of the page says "mounted as r/w"....open \system\media\
click paste, and allow it to copy over your old bootanimation.zip file
Reboot your phone....you should now have your custom boot animation

Sure thing, bud I'll be glad to have them here!! I'd like to have a nice large library of boot animations. I don't know about you, but I get tired of them after a few days so I swap them out often.
my personal favourite being the commodore 64 boot screen but the bios is cool also
These are not my work and just what i have picked up on my travels through the forums
Just what exactly do you do to make them compatible with x10?
I'd love to change some for myself.

-then download the attached file:
Rename the zip to ONLY "bootanimation.zip" without the qoutes"...(remove the (2) ), use root explorer and copy the bootanimation.zip to \system\media...overwriting the old bootanimation....make a backup of the old one first...

In the future, please "noob-proof" your uploads, meaning this: don't make people edit the names, etc....make it readily usable so people don't fill the thread asking "what do I do to get this one working??"
Thanks for the share

you need to be plugged in to your computer while in TWRP and go into the tools folder of android sdk. Start the program called ddms. Once open click to highlight your device then click device in the top bar and click screen capture. You could also Google Android ddms for information.

no need to be sorry we all gotta learn the new stuff at some point.
first dl the image that you want and upload it somewhere like imgur.com (do not upload it directly from computer to xda..this will not work for sigs).
for signature to work go under private message (top right under the Welcome (yourname)).
This will take you to a new page..you will see on the left side there is a "your control panel".
Click on edit signature.
in there put in the DIRECT LINK that you get from imgur.com in the img tags..which goes something like this {img}http://i.imgur.com/LK8vW.gif{/img} where you will need to replace all { and } with [ and ] respectively.
thats it . let me know if you have any questions.
on xda avatars can not be animated..so you will have to select one of the static avatars. hope this helps.
I'll try when I get home btw u can edit ur signature under quick links which is a faster way, thanks a lot for being descriptive.

Ya I'm pretty sure it will work too, just don't know how the resolution will match up. What size screen are you guys working with?

Hey all, I've been doing a little messing around with boot animations for the A2.
For those who like the minimalist approach, attached is a simple boot animation where I just looped the stock pulsating motorola logo. I plan on putting together and posting some more elaborate ones when I get the chance.
To install (for those who are not familiar with the process):
1. copy bootanimation_moto_pulse.zip file to SD card
2. using Root Explorer (or the like) copy from SD card and paste to /system/media (make sure you mount r/w)
3. delete the current bootanimation.zip (make sure to save a copy on your SD card first, if you haven't already)
4. rename bootanimation_moto_pulse.zip to bootanimation.zip
5. mount r/o, exit Root Explorer, reboot, and watch the moto logo throb
Another note for the minimalists...
If you completely remove the bootanimation.zip file from the /system/media folder (or mis-spell the file name), you get the nice, clean, and simple default android boot animation..
Also, I think it boots a bit faster with nothing in the media folder...
-----------
Some other useful tools for the boot animakers out there:
-Boot Animation Preview 1.5 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=676385 - lets you preview on your computer)
-Fotosizer (batch image converter/resizer/effecter.. for your computer, obviously - google it) (you can also actually do some batch ops with MS Office Picture Manager)
-Notepad++ (get rid of those pesky hidden spaces - remember to leave the blank line at the end!)
-ZArchiver app (allows for "store" type compression zip files on your phone - i use PeaZip on my PC, others use 7-Zip)
-Hot Boot option on your phone (it just reboots the Android UI only, and allows for a quicker way to check out the boot animation than a full reboot - i use Quick Boot Plus (i think there are other free options on the market)
Well, I have seen a lot of boot animations floating around - many here in various threads on xda, as well as elsewhere on the web - that were either made to fit our phone, resized to fit, or it just so happens that they work on our good ol' Mr. Edison...
That being said, I suggest that we start a collection thread for Atrix 2 boot animations with links or attachments, and for general "theming" related discussion... Maybe it will even attract some creative graphical talent for making custom boot anis with "Atrix 2" and/or "Edison" themes (hint, hint...)
Anyway, here's a few more attached...
___________
Attachments
bootanimation_mod0.zip is one I threw together from various boot animations and I'm not sure who to give credit to, though the final loop is the boot ani from SCV5 (which I think was borrowed anyway - seen it called machinazul) only flipped 180, color removed, resized and slowed down a tad..
bootanimation_bwscv5.zip is the full-length, full-size boot ani used on SCV5 (silver, and flipped)
bootanimation_gears.zip is by JaeKar99, I just rotated and resized it.
bootanimation_ginger.zip is Gingerbread Anatomy by Nottach with artwork by freeny (see here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1076876). I did nothing to this file but find it, look at it, and rename it.
I've attached the original stock motorola/at&t boot animation (bootanimation_origatt.zip) for anybody who may have lost it. I've seen a few posts with people asking for it..
Also attached is what I believe to be the Droid RAZR boot animation with sound file (bootani&sound.zip) - just unzip the zip, stick both files in the /system/media folder and rename the zip (you do not need to include the sound file if you don't want sound)
bootanimation_trondroid0.zip has the Nexus Tron bikes animation (by unknown), but that was too short without a loop section, so I added the particle ring by Dysgenic
bootanimation_shine.zip is a simple android logo with foggy light shining through - don't recall where I found it
bootanimation_ics.zip - the ICS boot (this is the jpeg version - i have a much larger png version with higher quality, but it's too large to post and it seems too large to boot smoothly.. i may mess with it a little more)
bootanimation_stache.zip - see preview here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=982286 - I just resized it (and lost the mortal kombat audio)
bootanimation_cm9.zip - CyanogenMod 9 boot ani thanks to Akilldema (see here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1511501 for previews and diff sizes/speeds - this is the one at 30 fps, you might want to try the 60 fps version)
Thanks! I love the tron!!!!!

Awesome animations!!! Thanks a ton
This link might be of some usefulness, or perhaps not. I don't know what the appropriate ratio size is for the Atrix 2, but there's several tabs at the top of this webpage for: 1280x720, 800x480, 960x540, etc. boot animation .zips! There's some pretty cool looking ones, as well as some novelty-type anims and others.

blue razr atrix 2 bootanimation
Want to make my own bootanimation for our A2, so thought itd be better to know how to go about it by modding an existing one
i like the droid razr one a lot, so tried editing it a bit.. Let me know what you guys think.. cheers
Download link with sound file:
1. Blue Razr with Sound
2. droidsm.ogg
Just copy-paste the bootanimation.zip and droidsm.ogg files to /system/media folder and change permissions to -rw-r--r-- and reboot.
Backup and remove the original bootanimation.zip from /system/media
Edit: the animation was going too fast, so just decreased the fps.
Edit2: Sound is working now, added it from the Razr M bootanimation, which ive posted a few posts down.

I recommend to give GIMP a try (and install the BIMP plug-in) while waiting for Photoshop - it's a great (and free) alternative.

Hi,
I'm doing something wrong or the boots animations doesn't work on stock roms?
I follow the instructions and always get only the "Android" word animation.
Regards.

These themes are for any device with 480x800 resolution. I have a Samsung Galaxy S2 T989; this is what I've tested all the themes on but again should work with all devices of that resolution.
How to Install:
Open your TWRP folder
Create a new folder inside of that
Rename new folder to theme
Download and place in theme folder
Rename to ui
Many thanks to Mjamocha for allowing me to use his theme to study also for helping n3cc3rs and I get up and running.
Thanks to n3cc3rs for the competition; lol!!

TWRP 2.4 Themes
These do work for 2.5 but you don't see the option to switch memories and other changes TWRP has made.
DL link is after the name of theme.
Assassin's Creed http://www.mediafire.com/download/rmrnq184wb6s79h/Assassins_Creed.zip
Gears of War http://www.mediafire.com/download/mjxuw77ue7nz33z/Gears_of_War.zip

TWRP 2.5 Themes
Batman http://www.mediafire.com/download/s9y9a3dsja736tt/Batman.zip
I have two sound files to download with this theme as well. One is simply I'm batman and the other is the Joke saying Why so serious then laughs.
The Last of Us http://www.mediafire.com/download/lr13l1setvlr3i2/The_Last_of_Us.zip
In the concept stage as of now; wanted to release it to see what you think. I will be updating this at any given time.
Assassin's Creed2.5 http://www.mediafire.com/download/rfxb3zc3mr40c7v/Assassins_Creed2.5.zip
How to apply sound file
I use Root Explorer but you can use the one that best suits you.
After downloading the file navigate to it's location copy the one you want to use as the power on sound then go to /system/media/audio/ui and paste.
Look for the file you just pasted in that location then rename it to PowerOn and set permissions. The steps for the power off sound is the same but rename it PowerOff.
DON'T DELETE THE FILE EXTENSION!!!
I'm Batman http://www.mediafire.com/download/3oq4dsg4ij7wb0g/I'm_Batman.ogg
The Joker http://www.mediafire.com/download/x77q5znqty79xw2/The_Joker.ogg
This is just what I do so I know the name of the theme I want to use; I place all themes in the theme folder then when I want to use one I make a copy then paste it in theme folder. Rename copy to ui reboot into recovery. In recovery you can go into settings and select Simulate actions for theme testing. This allows you to test the theme completely without any of the actions permanently sticking. Read here for exact quoit http://www.teamw.in/twrp2-theme-guide. I do this so I always have the name of the theme I want to use and I still have the original. You don't have to do it this way; this is just some advice.
Don't forget to hit the THANKS button!!!!

Yes just as long as ur screen resolution is 480x800. Sorry fo the delay of response I took a break from theming (wife nagging about being on the computer all the time). Is there anyone in particular that u want right now cuz I been trying to put together a batman theme then update the others. Hopefully I'm able to get to it sometime this week (work permitting).
Edit: Forgot to ask; what version of TWRP are u using? If its 2.4 I'LL repost the links when I get up if its 2.5 then it'll be as I've stated above.

Also, if you can make these themes to this resolution, that would be awesome - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2035234

I'll try to update them asap but I'm also still trying to figure out other aspects of the xml for more theming possibility along with finding time to do it.
As far as porting them themes to this resolution you would be better off sending the themer a pm and ask if he could do it. I tried before but was never able to get it to work even after editing the images and xml.
Thank you for your interest

Got a new device with different resolution. I did keep my old device so I can continue to create themes for this res.
Am not gonna update all of themes to 2.6; looking at the dl count I'm only gonna do the 3 highest then whatever new ones I make.
At this moment I'm working on a harley quinn and joker multiple background theme. Just got a few things to work out.
