My 2 month old HTC Arrive seemed to have had some kind of catastrophic failure and Sprint ordered a refurbished unit. The refurbished unit after all the updates seems to have a different version of the software as my last one. I have done all updates through the Zune software. The only current noticable difference is that I can't merge my email accounts into one tile, like all of my gmail ones under one, and the app menu doesn't have the letters I used to be able to click on to take me to the apps quicker, say hit the "#" one and then hit "s" and go to settings faster. the current version on this device is......
os version: 7.10.7720.68
firmware revision number: 2305.13.40301.651
hardware revision number: 0002
so how can i tell if this right? I have tried a system reset within the o.s. and the hard reset.
From the sounds of it - feature wise- you don't have Mango (7.5), but your version number matches mine (and I do have Mango).
I actually had a similar situation where I bought a used arrive to replace my original one and while it showed that I had 7.5 but I didnt have all of the mango features as you described, Ive installed the DFT 7.10.8107 on my phone though so I cant really comment further, I did find it odd though.
Once you install a certain amount of apps, the shortcut letters will appear.
I haven't heard of the inability to link emails with 7720. You may have to have it checked out of that is still the case with your device.
Good luck to you jonny

A very strange and curious problem....
Upgrading from Dutty's v4 to Dutty's WM6.1 Build 5.2.19716 I have now a serious problem....
First of all, the Tilt doesn't recognize my SIM card (and before the upgrade it did)
Second.. I checked my Tilt IMEI and it is changed!!!!
I'm noticing that there are two numbers more at the end of the serial.
My Tilt was legally unlocked with the AT&T code they sent me after my request.
What's happening?
Could someone tell me if you encountered a problem like this before?
flash to a 6.1 radio.
the version in your sig is for wm6, not 6.1
all of the radios are in Dutty's 2nd post.
No Dave... my signatures is not updated.. because I'm in the process to work with this upgrade.
I used the right 1.64 radio... and tried the 2 kind of 1.64 suggested
And the problem is the one I wrote

OK. You didn't mention the radio that's all. And it's the number one cause of 6.1 problems
If you flash back to V4 does the problem go away?
Have you done a Hard Reset?
Sorry, but that's all I can offer, maybe one of the ATT users might be able to help you when they wake up .
Same thing
Hmm, I upgraded to Dutty's 6.1 yesterday as well. I did not have any issue with the SIM card locking me out, and everything seems to be running ok. I do however have two extra digits on the end of my IMEI # . it ends in *01
Does anyone forsee any issue with AT&T if I have these two extra numbers on my phone? As I said, I haven't noticed anything out of the ordinary.
Thanks! Hope you get everything figured out, [email protected]!
I think this is the second or third IMEI was changed thread.
Use the free SIM unlocker to get back into your phone, but very odd...
Yes, my IMEI has an added "01" at the end as well. I've compared the number in "Device Information" with the original T-Mobile packaging label and my insurance papers and it's exactly the same except for the 2 extra digits.
I do not know if flashing a particular rom added the numbers because I did not check the IMEI until reading after this thread. I don't even know if the extra 2 digits are supposed to be there or not. Just adding this post in case it helps anyone.
However, if the number was changed after purchase, this is a problem for me because it invalidates the additional insurance I have taken out on the thing (bound to type of phone and IMEI). The phone functions as it should, there are no other problems except the changed IMEI.
I'm using Dutty's latest 6.1 rom.
I remember reading somewhere that the IMEI which is stated on the label of your phone's box is 2 digits shorter than your phone's actual IMEI # however the last two digits are not required for an unlock code...
Might be that those last two digits don't really have anything to do with anything....does anyone know the anatomy of an IMEI number?
This, this, and this page gave me enough information to stop worrying about it all.

IMEISV (International Mobile Equipment Identity and Software Version number) is also sometimes used. It offers the possibility of adding the handset's original software version number. It adds a two digit SVN (Software Version Number) at the end of the code, so the numerical format is:
111111-22-333333-4-55, which changed to 11111111-222222-3-44 on 1st April 2004.

So we know that the added 01 is a software version number, that's added to the code itself. Since the first 15 numbers are the same as on the box/insurance papers, that suggests that the IMEI itself is not changed. It just got the SV part added to it.
Several sources suggest that having more than 15 numbers is not a problem at all:

NOTE: If your phone prints out more than 15 digits for your IMEI , please only supply us with the first 15 digits the phone provides, no dashes or space. The remaining numbers are unimportant as they are just checksum numbers.
Look on the phone for a white sticker/label, which would be now exposed after removing the battery, for the IMEI. It would be 15 or 17 digits not including a few forward slashes included and without any letters. Only the first 15-digits are needed.

Thanks a lot, Bundin. That was a good find. I was looking to devote a little more time to this tonight after work, but you saved me some time there.
Thanks again!
That is good to know.
I just wanted to drop a note as well. I've just compared my IMEI, original shipped ROM and after 1.62 upgrade. There was no change. I wont be posting my IMEI number but they are identical.
Original AT&T Tilt Device Information:
--------------------------------------
ROM ver: 1.57.502.2
ROM date: 08/25/07
Radio ver: 1.27.12.11
Protocol ver: 22.45.88.07H
New ROM Information:
------------------------
Rom ver: 1.62.502.0
ROM date: 01/17/08
Radio ver: 1.27.14.09
Protocol ver: 22.45.88.07H
I'm outting this thread to rest.
Bottom line is that only the first 15 digits of the IMEI Matter.
I unbranded my Focus and did the no-do patch a month ago then rebranded it to ATT-US but now zune doesn't tell me that there's an update though I haven't received the Focus Firmware.
I've been searching this forum and didn't find an answer so I'm just making sure I haven't found a way around it and will have to restore my phone.
Are you sure you're rebranded to ATT-US ?
Sent from my SGH-i917 using XDA Windows Phone 7 App
Rebrand it and Zune will notice you.
how do you rebrand it?
I would like to know this as well. I can't run samsungregistry to re-brand the phone. am I forced to do a phone reset?
How did you unbrand it?

I'm very sure I rebranded it for sure. I don't think there is a way to run the registry.xap after nodo is there?

You can still side-load .xaps (like the registry editor) as long as your device is still dev. unlocked. IF, however, you lost your unlock there isn't a way to "jailbreak" NoDo with the Chevron tool.
One option is to use Zune on your PC to roll back the firmware using the backup Zune created during your first NoDo update. This version (maybe .7004??) will be unlockable with Chevron. Doing this will revert your phone back to the state at the time of the first update (you'll loose new app data, personal data, and have to redownload new apps.)
Once you're dev. unlocked you will be able to go through the update process to NoDo without losing the unlock. So you will have a dev unlocked NoDo. This process will probably restore the ATT-US branding, but now with an unlocked device you can brand it to whatever you want!
I'm sure the update is being released in waves so be patient. I have a device that already had NoDo on it and I received the samsung update immediately, but my buddy with a stock 7004 version still hasn't received the update yet.
Getting error C1010007 ever since my first attempt to upgrade. I got the notification on 4/19 and have tried several times, on 2 different laptops, and it gets to step 7 of 10 of the process and got to 68% the first 4 times, then 72% one time, then 55% the last time before it drops the connection with my phone and stops and throws the error.
I've deleted EVERYTHING on the phone ... music, pics, apps ... and same thing. I've used various USB cables including the original, and no success. About the only thing left is to hard reset and I REALLY hate to do that because most people aren't having issues.
I am really not liking this at all!
If you already deleted everything, What's the hurt to do a hardreset? In fact, a lot ppl spent days even weeks try to get the update working (on a Samsung phone) and still ended up with a hard reset and solves the problem. Re-setting up your phone probably won't take days you spent on experimenting already.
Just wondering if anyone has had this problem. I've resetted the phone and still cant get it to update
The only Focus that hasn't received NoDo update is hardware rev 1.4. AT&T is still testing the new firmware that will work with rev 1.4 hardware.
To check your rev number, power down and take the battery out. It is printed on the label underneath the battery.
Most of us are on older rev 1.3 hardware.
Im on rev 1.3, no firmware update though I'm running the latest software update...
no luck here either
Lol I didn't check update b4 I posted, this was for nodo
Unfortunately this is not a solution thread right now, but hopefully it will be in there near future. It seems as though there are a handful of users who are experiencing the Error: 80004005 when trying to update to Mango.
To the best of my knowledge, I have tried two methods for upgrading to Mango that I could find, and no matter what I still end up with error 80004005 when trying to upgrade from 7304. I have tried hard resetting the phone, removing my SD card... still the same error.
If you have this problem, it'd be great if you could list your device.
Mine: Samsung Focus AT&T v1.4
Methods Tried: first, second
also, if anyone knows of any other upgrade methods I can try, I've linked the two I tried (which are essentially the same)

My understanding is that the Samsung Focus Ver. 1.4 is not ready for Mango update yet. Maybe that is the cause of the issue. My Samsung Focus Ver. 1.3 updated ok. Sorry you may have to wait, but it is a great update. I think you will really like it.

that is correct:
rev 1.3(Micron): Windows 7.5 update will be available through Zune on 9/27.
rev 1.4(LSI) : Update has not entered the AT&T SPE lab yet; however, Samsung is targeting for 10/17 lab entry and 10/31 TA"
you can check which revision you have by pulling out the battery. there should be a revision number on on a white sticker on the device.
There is also a thread on XDA here about Focus rev. 1.4 devices. End of October is what ATT stated.
I have the same problem with my HTC Mozart T8699, my WP7 version is 7.10.7720.68
i'll be waiting for help to update my mobile.
thanks too much

I had this issue. It's something to do with the One X. I went through 3 brand new devices and then ATT just gave me a Galaxy S3. Since then I haven't had an issue.

You can't root the 2.20 software that ATT has on the phone. If your software is up to date, you can't root this phone until someone figures it out.

Aww, That's suck! But do you think the next update will fix all these things?
Just replying to see if there's an update on the situation. I have an HTC One X on AT&T's carrier that's been having the same problem of not receiving texts at times. I will sometimes go without getting a text from anyone until I send one myself, where I am then flooded with all texts that didn't come in before. I have a stock phone, android version 4.04 and software 2.20. Anything that may help?
Hey so I have the exact same issue as you are having with your HTC One X. I also am on stock 4.04 with the 2.20 unrooted. I had a similar situation as the person early in this post about going through multiple devices then AT&T sent me the S3, I apparently didn't have the same luck, it had the same issues of texts flooding in, but also I wouldn't maintain a network connection on Network or Wifi. The only thing that I have found to be of possible issues were in the "hidden menus" (always liked what people call them ) The first one is the *#*#4636#*#* under device information when I run the ping test for my network connections I receive this output;
Ping IpAddr: Fail IP addr not reachable
Ping Hostname (google): Pass
HTTP Client test: Pass
Then all the other stuff seems standard to me. I don't know why I get that "error" but I know that has to deal directly with the overall network connection to (what I think) the individual "sim card" and "device ID". I have obviously replaced the devices, and I have actually switched out the Sim card numerous times, and contacted customer care to make sure my IMEI and Sim were correct and even had them refresh both to the Network. If you have troubleshooted this, or wouldn't mind sharing with me what output your "ping test" gives that would be greatly appreciated
So that's the one "problematic" issue I have seen. The second one I just came across this morning, once again this information is found in a "hidden menu" this one is found by using the code *#*#759#*#* This Menu is the Rlz Debug UI. It gives you your unique device ID/ PID, and a few other of course device related info. There are a few button options at the bottom of that screen they are
RLZs Pings Events View Client IDs
Here is my output readings;
RLZs (same for both Menu drop down options) No Applications
Pings (same for both Menu drop down options: No Pings
Events (same for all 3 options) Y1-Activated Pending Y2-Activated Pending
View Client IDs: client_id set to :android-att-us
search client id: ms-android-att-us
maps client id: gmm-android-htc
you tube clien id: mvapp-android-htc
market client id; am-android-att-us
voicesearch client id :ms-android-att-us
shopper client id: null
wallet client id: null
Hope that is all somewhat understandable, then using my ES File Explorer, i changed the folder settings to allow up to Root, then went and viewed my build.prop ( just in case under system folder then scroll down it will be a file not a blue folder) My build.prop didn't even have the "client_id" anywhere in it, and one other interesting though was the line ; ro.telephony.default_network= 9
Anyway I hope that this isn't old news for you, and would appreciate a response if you can with your findings and such. Maybe we can get to the bottom of this stupid issue that is overly frustrating for sure........
Hi Everyone! Yes, I'm a NOOB, I've never done anything on the developer side of things.
For Father's Day my wife bought me the MyTablet which has ended up to be a bit of a scam...1ghz processor, I have 16gb of memory with another 16gb card in it.
Info on my tablet:
Model Number: A10_MID
Android Version: 4.0.3
Baseband version: 4.0.11
Kernel Version: 3.0.8+ ([email protected] #8)
Build Number: crane_q7-eng 4.0.3 IML74K 2020520525 test-keys
System update feature indicates it is up to date.
Anyway, I've had some issues, it seems the company was really a 1 man shop that has disappeared, doesn't
respond to phone calls or emails, etc. Several of the apps I have such as the music player it came with doesn't
keep my playlists, and lately the thing has been shutting down at 64-71% power on the battery. So, I'm thinking
it's either faulty hardware or faulty software. That's not to mention that many apps on the google store said my device
was not compatible with it.
Since I can't do anything about the faulty hardware part at this point (the 2 year warranty was apparently a waste of money)
I thought of wiping the entire thing and starting out fresh with a new O/S. Any suggestions? I was thinking of attempting to turn this into a Nexus 7 type tablet which means installing Jelly Bean, preferably 4.2. I'm not sure how to go about this, but I've been looking around the forums and see there are lots of ROMs out there or maybe it's a Port I'd need. Would you guys recommend going the way of the Nexus 7 or perhaps a different android incarnation?
The Black Rose one found in these forums seemed interesting.
I found these forums and a way to wipe my tablet and add another in this article on techradar.com about how to install android on other devices
but I want to make sure I get something good and can do it correctly.
Boils down to these questions,
1.) Which O/S would you recommend for the tablet?
2.) Which files and/or file types should I download?
Thanks in advance!
