I got my Charge during its EP4 days and never got a chance to try out the Gummycharged ROM. (I need a change of scenery) Is there any way to flash this while on FP1? Will it brick my phone? I was looking on the rootzwiki forums on how to install Gummycharged 2.1 and it says to go to stock EP1W before flashing. LMK if there is a possible downgrade.

You can Odin back too EP1W however that framework is very old and I would not recommend using it
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
Yeah, you can just Odin the stock ROM... But Gummy is extremely old.

Don't worry. Even though Kejar left us when the Bionic came out, he said he would dev for the Charge again as soon as he got some time.
Its gotta be soon...lol

shouldn't matter what you odin over it or just flash to be honest as most roms/kernels nowadays support lagfix/voodoo (yes Froyo and GB)... if you really wanna be super safe you could odin back to stock with PIT and start fresh from there so you know what's going on

I've actually got a question for you guys that's related. I'm running Humble 1.6 EE4 Froyo and I want to install the EP1W leak. Is it possible for me to just drop the zip in the SDcard and run CWM from there? Or do I have to odin it in?

You have to flash through ODIN which will erase all data.

Just got my infuse a week ago but want to upgrade to catyrom 2.1 currently using
froyo.uckh1
kernal version 2.6.32.9
baseband version i997uckk3 upgarded
firmware version 2.2.1
do i need to change kernels or bootloader to do this? been reading for days some say i do and some say i dont would just like a little clarification due to this being my only source of internet if i brick this ill be in trouble. so id like as much info as possible before i jump in head first.
You will first need to root your phone then get 3e recovery, and then clockworkmod(cwm) installed. You will then want to flash GTGs community kernel to get red cwm. The flash GB bootloaders through either Odin or heimdall. Once up and all running, flash catyrom

Jason,
start here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1220090
and read carefully...
you don't have to choose infused...use catyrom instead.
or you can also use adam outler's heimdall to get to 2.3, flash the recovery kernel and use red cwm to flash catyrom.
do forget to click thank gtg or adam or me
Me and Caty appreciate your support also...

I'm going to set up an Infuse for my Mom tomorrow.
I don't want to install a custom ROM. I just want the OEM Gingerbread, which I'll root and debloat myself.
But I'm unfamiliar with the Infuse GB ROM's.
Which is the most recent available for Odin?
The UCKE3 GTG or the UCKD5 or something else?
Also, if the phone (used) has Froyo on it right now, is it okay to odin straight to Gingerbread or will I need to flash a kernel or radio first?
Btw, here are two of the ODIN's I'm thinking of:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1092021
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1112555
Both of those are Froyo ROMs. The latest Gingerbread ROM is UCLB3.

Infuse 4G Super Everything Thread
Thanks, I did read the super thread. It never said was the newest ROM was though.
Thanks, PVD04 that was exactly the info I was looking for!

Okay I found out that Samsung released Gingerbread. It's old news to you guys but when I had my own Infuse last year, it hadn't been released yet. I assumed it never would be either.
So this link shows how to update to Gingerbread via stock Samsung kies.
http://www.samsung.com/us/support/SupportOwnersFAQPopup.do?faq_id=FAQ00045587&fm_seq=46249
It should probably be added to the super thread. I PM'd the OP about it.

Update to FP8 radios have been released. The update i'm sure is being Kanged and worked on by the DEVs here. But update your radio's now if you would like. Run the zip in CWM. You "HAVE" to be on FP5 to update to FP8. Not sure what effects it will have if you try without being on FP5E.
Please thank MidnightNinja for the original fp5 to fp8 radio work.
You can download the link here. Charge FP8 Radios

Baseband needs to be FP5 - that's why it failed.
Also - make sure to thank MidnightNinja for the cwm modem updater as well, as I believe that's where this originated. And thanks to those keeping things updated as I have been all kinds of slacking

So far OK
I'm running the FP8 radios on FP5 w/ Tweaked 3.2 w/ dSlice mods and so far so good.
I'm want see if I don't get random squelches or long 15-60 second delays when establishing a call sometimes. Time will tell.
Working like a charm. I do hope we get the full update on Tweaked as my wife and I don't get to get new phones until January! So jealous of all the cool phones coming out. But, I know when I get mine then, all of your phones will be obsolete like the Charge is. LOL They are coming out too fast with fantastic phones. Thanks for this to all who made it possible.

Nope. It only touches the radios not the kernel, so it's safe. I've been running stock rooted FP5 since it seems to be less hassle that Lazarus (consistently smoother and more stable)
I always keep a copy the latest SuperSU CWM zip on my SD card just in case, but I didn't need it.

That's good know, I've never actually rooted my phone with the stock ROM. Always just Odin a custom ROM so it's rooted already.
New modem is very good i get stronger signals from it.
Haven't had any issues with the quality either.
I'm running tweaked 3.2 fp8 radio 12/19 pbj kernel and latest and greatest v6 supercharger script.
My phone has never been faster or Smoother
After I install this how do I know if it worked? CWM said install successful but phone info still says FP5. Is that just cause Tweaked or whatever told the phone to display FP5 or did it not work?
