[mtk device only] how to make your phone "alive" again, from bricked / dead state?
Requirements:
1. SP Flash Tool
2. MTKdroid tool Backup or your Stock ROM
3. VCOM Drivers (For Mt65xx)
Steps:-
a) Extract the stock rom/ backup rom from zip and VCOM
Driver in desktop.
b) Switch off Your phone and remove battery.
c) Open Device manager in PC. (Start-> run ->
"devmgmt.msc")
d) Connect the phone to PC.
e) In device manager you can find a yellow line appear
after the phone is connected. "MT65xx preloader".
f) Right click on it and click update. Browse to Desktop
and click next to update. A red box will come, press
"continue installation" .
g) Open SP Flash tool folder and click on Flash_Tool.exe
h) Browse to the scatter File MT65xx_Android_scatter_emmc_PMT.txt in the stock
romfolder.
i) Make sure all are checked except USRDATA. Then press a Download button.
j) Then connect your switched off mobile. Then you can
see some progress is going on in blue and red(without battery)
k) After getting a green circle. You are done. Put the
battery in and Power on the mobile.
Enjoy your new Alive Handset.
Note: While flashing the rom using sp flash tools if
someone gets some error, then instead of download
option use firmware upgrade. Check all the files including
usrdata. Your rom will get flashed.
For any other errors you can search Google using the
error name.

Rooting KArbonn Titanium s20
#Requirements:

CWM recovery (Link)

Use SP Flasher v 5.0xx to flash (Link) .
Download the scatter file MT6582(Link)
#Procedure :
Open SP flasher and choose scatter file Mt6582_android_emmc.txt
Goto recovery link and choose the CWM recovery (downloaded).
Now connect your device in switch off Mode with its battery inside and Download it
Now open CWM by pressing Vol up+Power Key
Choose "Install zip from sd card" >Choose zip from Sd card > select the update SU.zip
Reboot and we are done rooting.

Repartition Internal SDCARD
As we know this device {MTK6582}comes with 4GB ROM with APP data to be 1GB and user Storage 1.59 GB.
Such small APP space cause a lots of problems Thus best way is to repartition it with HKRom Manager.

Requisites:
Hk rom manager.apk
CWM /TPRW recovery
A full backup CWM or TPRW.
Procedure:
Before you proceed take a full CWM or TPRW backup as phone internal partition may not work or respond sometimes.
Now install the app
Open the app and select mt6582 fast runner (2nd option) ::it will be the only highlighted option .
Choose your required data size (say 2GB , its fine ) and hit apply and now wait.
It will show boot into recovery ,hit yes
After 3 mins you are done. ReBoot it
Now You have 1.8GB APP space and 540MB for storage
"Remember all your phone data will be lost as phone is re-partitioned and Formatted. "

Procedure:-
Case-I :If you have a unrooted and no CWM ANDROID Phone with USB Debugging Enabled
First TURN ON the USB Debugging Option :: ie , Settings>Developer options>USB debugging and install ADB drivers
Start MTK Droid Tools <Provided above> ,Grant the USB debugging request and wait till device get discovered .
Then click on BLOCKs Map and you will get all partition and their length .Here you can create a scatter file also. and minimise the window .\, We would require the location later.
Then TURN OFF the phone . OPEN SP flasher , Choose the scatter file you made or provided in the link.
Then Goto READBACK tab and add a readback file ie ROM_0
Click on ROM_0 and choose the destination Folder .
Now a Box will open and ask for Start address and length ,SET it in hex and do the following
start address:0x0000000 and length 0x7FB80000 [The length of FAT as in scatter file] ,Remember if you want the length shown in block map then just ADD 0x [length] .
Now HIT readback. Connect the Phone using USB with battery inside the phone and wait till its get discovered and yellow bar will represent the work.
It would nearly take 30-45 mins and we got our ROM_0 file.
Again Turn ON the phone and connect with USB debugging ON.
Open Minimised MTK Droid tools and Goto Root,backup tab and Hit Process ROM_0.
It will ask to make CWM recovery from original recovery ,if u want CWM fro your phone here you can get it HIT Yes.
After Processing finished we will get our SP flashable STOCK Rom Files in mtkdroidtools>backup
Hence we are done . And In RESULT we get ,ScAtter File ,SP Flashable STOCK Rom images and CWM Recovery for the phone.

Case II:-An Android Phone having CWM (with or without Root)
Here we get CWM Backup For Stock Rom which is good for Porting like purposes.
Keep 3 GB of space empty in SD card.
First Turn OFF the Phone and HOLD UP+ Power Key
Enter to Recovery Menu>Backup and Restore
Hit Backup
After it completes Goto SDCARD>CLOCKWORKMOD>BACKUP
Result we get CWM Backup of STOCK ROM which can be flashed By CWM on Hitting restore in Backup and Restore.
Case-III:-A rooted Android phone (with or without CWM) USB Debugging Enabled
Here we can get CWM recovery,SP Flashable Stock Rom and to work with Rom files.
Connect the phone phone to PC via USB and turn ON the USB Debugging.Keep 3GB SDcard Space
Then start MTK Droid Tools and let it detect your Phone.
Then Hit ROOT button just at Down right.
Let it connect to phone and Grant the SU Permission in the phone.
The yellow mark in down left corner will turn Green .
Goto Root, Backup Tab and Select userdata and cache in Bacup option.
Now hit Backup. It would take and hour or so.
Then click on" prepare blocks for flash tools" and wait .
After it Finishes you have CWM recovery,SP Flashable Stock Rom and to work with Rom files.

Totally bricked a ZTE Blade L3, any solutions?

Hello,
tried to flash a custom OS and root on a ZTE Blade L3. I got CWM Recovery working and flashed a CM12.1 rom on it, after that, it failed to mount all partitions /cache etc. etc. then I restarted the phone and it bootloops + fades white immediatly!
Recovery or Bootloader etc. dont work
If I connenct the phone on my computer it connect, disconnnect, connect, disconnect and so on.
Anyone a solution or idea how I could save that?

I can help you, So first we have to know is it Hard bricked or just Soft bricked, In any case it's not hard to unbrick. Just follow these steps :silly:
1. Download SPFlashTool to your PC https://androidmtk.com/smart-phone-flash-tool
2.Download Drivers for MTK6582 (I hope I wrote the right MTK name) http://www.devfiles.co/download/0InO9P5m/MT65xx_USB_VCOM_DRIVERS.zip
3.Download stock firmware

IF SOFT BRICKED:
-Update drivers with the one up there in the thread, Open SPFlashTool, Find scatter file (just a file with a .txt extension) and place it in Scatter file area in SPFlashTool (search on YouTube how to use SP), After you did that manually add the files that are missing ( it's usually the recovery and some other files that are missing), Then press download and AFTER that connected your phone with a USB cable! Then wait it to flash :victory: ,
IF HARD BRICKED:
-Remove battery,
-Connect to PC with USB cable
-It probably won't recognise your phone, so we need to enter so called META mode so we could flash the PRELOADER, to make the phone recognisable.
-To enter META mode remove battery( if you didn't), connect as I said up there, and try pressing and holding some buttons, I can't remember the correct combination that enters META mode but I think it was all buttons for 5 seconds, anyway you will know when you entered META mode if your PC recognises a change or if he finds the device :good:
-then enter SPFlashTool and flash the PRELOADER only (hope you know to use SPFlashTool)
-After that disconnect your phone and add battery
-Enter SPFlashTool and Flash whole system (all files except CACHE AND USER)
-You should be done ?

1. unpack
2. run flashtool.exe
3. load scatter
4. click download
5. unplug your battery and plug the phone to your PC via USB
6. wait for process to finish and unplug your phone
7. Boot

[CONFIRMED] How To Root Tecno W2

Pre-Requisites
1- You need a PC
2- Sp Flash tools
3- Twrp recovery( search Google)
4- 7zip
5- mtk vcom drivers(also search Google)
Let's Begin
: 1st step install the adb,do it right then reboot
2nd step unzip the twrp folder and get to the the end where you will see a scatter file and the recovery image, then minimize
3rd step open the spflash tools folder then double click on flash_tool
: 4th step click on the choose button in the middle of the three choose buttons you see
5th step locate the folder with the scatter file and twrp
6th step, you will see only the scatter file, double click on it

The real rooting begins here

: Click the download button, then put off your phone and remove the battery,
Then connect your phone to the pc
: It will then install twrp
: Once a good sign on the screen of the laptop, unplug the phone
: Then put back the battery of the phone
: Then press and hold the power button and volume up button at the same time till your recovery shows
: Click on the install button on twrp, then locate the SuperSU zip I sent to you, click it and swipe to install, then reboot...
:You should see the SuperSU icon in your app menu upon reboot

MYA-L23 Boot Loop / unbrick

Unbrick a Mya-L23 Huawei.
Hi recently I got my hands on a Mya-L23 and I thought it would be very good to use as a In Car Waze, so since I use a tasker app for this I needed root, so I did a booboo, rooted it wrong and ended up with a VERY nasty bootloop ( I even did open it to remove the batter ) , however I was able to recover it and see that it was almost unbrickable.
The Chip inside a Huawei Y5 2017 is basically a MT6737T so thankfully there's a tool we can use to write directly to the chip ! ( YAY ) it's called Smart Phone Flash Tool ( SP tool ) , so basically we are going to overwrite the whole phone so we have a new and fresh install.

- How to do it.
1- Install the MT drivers
2- Open the rom ( unzip it )
3- locate the "download agent file" ( this is a file that will tell SPtool what will be downloaded )
in the rom I used it was called: DA_SWSEC.bin and it was located in a folder called download agent
4-locate the scatter loading file ( inside the firmware folder of the rom ) , this is a text file in my case it was: MT6737T_Android_scatter.txt
5- Now open the SP flash tool
6- Press the download tab
it will have a screen with 3 things you can write, go to where it says: "Download agent" click on choose , and add the the download agent file you identified before
7-Load the scatter loading file, pressing on choose on the second choose button, if everything is ok it will read a lot of files, and will take like 10 minutes or so... be patient
8-you will see below this a select list that says:
Download Only, Firmware upgrade, format all + download
for now select: Download only, if it fails, try Firmware upgrade, if that fails, then Format all + download
8-WITHOUT THE PHONE CONNECTED TO THE PC PRESS the Green Download button on SP tool
9-Hold the VOL DOWN button on your phone ( even if it is on a boot loop )
10-Insert a USB cable from the PC to the phone, keep the VOL DOWN BUTTON PRESSED until it starts showing a yellow like , then the rom will be written to your phone. ( after this most likely it will be alive again )
11- Profit !

Most likely this will work with other y5 or even other phone models with the right rom and download agent...
