I have a htc 6800 and I installed Skype.
the program itself works fine but I can't listen phone calls through it. I can hear the ring and they respond but no sound, not from my side not from their side.
Any advice would be really appreciated
thanks
check if the device/s are fully compatible with skype.
the hermes/tytn for example only allowed messaging with the final version of skype. (calling worked with the beta).
sound came out the loudspeaker-unlike a normal phone call
(using a k850i, skype works perfectly-like normal phone service...)
Hello!
My girlfriend and I have the same phone with the same configuration (ROM, Radio, etc.) as reported in my signature, but when we perform a call, using Viber, Skype and even GTalk, we are experiencing a delay (9 times on 10).
For sure, my phone is OK, because I don't have this problem if I call other friends with other devices using Skype or Viber.
Sometime happens that the call is good, even without any delay, but most of the times it is present.
I really don't understand what could the culprit be, because this is happening both through WiFi and 3G connection.
Could somebody help me to find out what is the problem please?
Typical Skype on android problem, had the same problem with my Desire S talking to my friend who lives in America, had the same problem on HTC Hero and Asus Transformer tablet...Don't have any problems on my iPad, Skype for android sucks, trust me. You could try oovoo, it's alternative for skype and has iOS and android support. Works good too, sound quality isn't as good as skype but no lagg!
Thanks, I actually know that Skype for android sucks, but I have this problem even with Viber.
The strange fact is that sometime when Viber introduces a 10 seconds delay during calls, if I try Skype, this is working much better! Strange, but that is.
Im surprised that the delay exists also on gtalk. I've tried many voip apps, but in my oppinion gtalk is the best (with respect to quality, delay, etc.). Could it be that ur girlfriend has a poor connectivity (not necessarily down/upstream since gtalk works for me also with gprs ^^)?

Yes, actually gtalk is the one which works fine most of the times and most of the other applications.
The connectivity should be fine, because she is at home with her wifi adsl router (7Mbit like me). I guess it was because of the router quality then. I really don't know, because sometime it is working very well, sometimes is not. For example yesterday we talked using Viber for a long enough time, and we had no problems.
Even gtalk has some disturb during conversations.
Of course I will do more tests, whenever is possible.
Maybe shes sitting too far away so that the network signal is not that good... cant find any other explanation...

I really don't know what happened but now it seems I can do VoIP calls on Viber very well... It's a mistery!
.Hi,
I have microphone issue with my inspire only when i making a normal call. If i use skype or sound recorder it works fine. I tried with different ROMs so i think that is not a problem. Please help.
Hi,
May I know does anyone faces the same issue as mine? My friends complain that they can hear their voice (echo) during VOIP call thru Facebook messenger and Skype in headset mode.
Please advice.

I have the same issue with T-Mobile's WIFI calling. Not sure about Facebook/Skype. It happened when I received a call. If we hangup and then I call back the issue went away. I have found it helps if I use a wired headset or BT headset.
I have a AT&T non rooted with stock rom (4.2.2).
The person I'm calling (video conference on hangouts) cannot hear me. I can hear them perfectly, but they can't hear a thing from me. The video flows without problems in both ways. It is not a mic problem since the problem persists with a headset with mic. The mic works fine for any other application.
Has anyone got this problem? Any ideas?
Thank you
