Hello,
I was just wondering if there was anything that could be done about the "Samsung only" printer. My office has a Konica printer that I can not use because of this proprietary problem. Is there anything that can be done.? Not major or anything. Just annoying. ... my boss has a razor max that he just hits print on it shoots out the printer. Mine says it only works with Samsung printers. ...
this has already made it to page 3 from last night... just wanted to put it back on top... please help if you can

I am wondering if there is a way to rob the printer stuff from the Droid Razr Max and put it in here? I don't know, I wish I did.
This issue just hit me yesterday. Our shop just got a new HP and I can't just hit print and send a document to the new HP. I've been doing some research, but havent been able to come up a good alternative.

I have looked in the moto rom and can't find anything that leads to printer. in sgs3 it is called "mobile Printer" i believe... thats pretty easy. I was hoping that we could replace ours with the moto apk and be done with it.
I am an experienced Android user and have rooted my OG EVO and EVO LTE with never any problems. The question I have is. How to install the Play Store on a Nabi 2? I've downloaded the .apk directly to the Nabi, installed without a hitch. When I go to open; it just closes. Not a crash or force close but just an instant close. Any ideas on how to keep it open? I watched a You Tube vid on a guy using a Nabi 1 with the Play Store and believe me. I've done everything perfectly......so please please give me some advice.

It's almost the same specs as the 7! I was blown away by it! I obviously hate the fruit company, that's why I'm here. I traded my sister a tv for my son's itouch. Since the whole trial with Samsung I almost want to throw up. So I told him that I have to sell it & his leapad. He was so excited to get his Nabi & I'm jealous! The dual modes is phenomenal & a seamless experience. All I want to do is be able to get the play store on it. Amazon runs without a hitch, at least I was able to install Appy Geek! So please someone just gimme a little advice on how to get our beloved play store.

No I did not. I'm assuming that this is a crucial component? Would you happen to know the location of where I can grab the framework.apk?

I found the .apk downloaded it on the Nabi and when I installed it, it failed and simply stated not installed. Am I going to have to wait for a root to get the play store?

I just got Nabi2 for my grandson and am testing it out before I wrap it and give it to him, lol. I found this info. Guess we'll have to wait for a little bit.
Post-Launch Nabi 2 Tablet FAQs
Q: Where is Google Play? How do I install it?
A. Google's Support Site: The Android operating system is open source, which means that any device manufacturer is free to use Android on its devices. However, Google Play is an application that is only made available to devices that pass Google’s compatibility requirements. In addition, manufacturers must obtain a license from Google in order to install the Google Play Store app on their devices.
If you don’t have the Google Play Store app, and your device is not listed here, that means your device is not supported for use with Google Play at this time.
There is currently no Google Play Store apk that can be sideloaded successfully onto the nabi 2 Tablet without experiencing Forced Closure when used. Fan-a-Tech Eric is working hard on a solution that will allow users to do this. When available it will be posted here on the blog.

The EverythingNabi site has just posted a how-to for getting most of the Google apps installed and working on the Nabi 2. There is still an issue of force closing with the Play Store, but Music works now as well as Gmail and Youtube.

I just found out about this tablet. Makes me wish I had an older child, as I think this may be a little too advanced for my 2 year old.
I got one for my 2yr 4 m old daughter. She uses the paint program, looks at pictures and watches Dora and yo gabba gabba on netflix. Still waiting on the play store so I can use it after she is asleep! Amazon app store works with no problems until someone comes up with a solution

My 2 year old loves her Nabi2, also had a Nabi1 before she was 2. Suprised on how fast they learn to navigate the screens.
She is pretty advanced for her age, but they are setup pretty easy, so I am sure your kid would be fine if they are at least an average kid. Some kids that are slower learners may have some issues at 2.
Partial solution here...

I have an iPad 3 and my daughter likes playing with that. Of course, I'm hesitant to let her really get into it considering A: It's $500, B: It's MY tablet, meaning I have my own apps and stuff that I don't want her messing with, and C: Because she just LOVES touching that home key, it's hard to keep her in 1 app.
Still, the tablet does look intriguing. I think that tablet computers can be good learning tools. Hell my old kindergarten has a whole slew of iPads that they let the students use, although they have more plastic surrounding them than Joan Rivers' face so that they don't break when dropped or beaten up. And quite frankly, given how begrudgingly I picked up the iPad, the last thing I need is to bring yet ANOTHER one of them in the house. 2 iPads are enough (my wife has my old 2 and I have the new generation model.) I like to think we balance it out with 2 Samsung Android phones.
I actually just put two of these on layaway at Walmart this Saturday. One for my 8yo stepson who's been hounding me for a tablet for about a month, and the other for my 2yo. My little guy steals my Nexus 7 all the time to play Sonic CD and even posts pictures of himself on my google+ account. You'd be amazed at how fast a child can pick up the UI on an android device, it's so intuitive. I think any child lucky enough to have parents willing to blow $200 on a "toy" for a preschooler will have a field day with the Nabi. Now I'm just hoping that we have the play store fully functional before Christmas. I've purchased almost every high end game from gta3 thru horn, and was and am planning on linking my google acct, and installing them onto the boys tablets after they open them. I really wish I could get my hands on one now so I could pull a log-cat and see what's going on when you try to install an app.

You can install an app just fine, but from what I have been reading the problem is the play store and google services framework do not have root access. You can only install them on the data partition and not the system partition. We need to be able to root the Nabi to be able to get the Play Store to work. I am assuming no parent is willing to accidentally brick their child's tablet trying to do this. Does anyone even know what drivers we would use for ADB?

Been awhile since I messed with mine(Well hers), but I think the drivers I installed for rooting my Nexus7 also saw the Nabi2 as an ADB device. Also had a few ideas but my 2-1/2 year old would FREAK if I bricked her Nabi2. I still have a Nabi1(Already rooted) being I got the VIP Gold and was sent an email that I can keep my Nabi1 even with them sending me the Nabi2, too bad Nabi1 is not closer and I would have something to "TEST" with.
So I found a driver that I could use to for ADB and I used the universal root from Bin4ry but it was a no go. Has anyone else tried anything different to try to root their Nabi 2? Would be nice to know what has not worked so far.
Something a little off subject does anyone know how to change the default keyboard. Going in and out of Daddy mode switches the keyboard back to the Android keyboard after switching it to Swiftkey.
rooted and market fully working.

No such luck
Been trying the script all afternoon with a brand new Nabi 2.
Script runs, but no SU/root access.
I've done it after wipes
I've done it after entering Mom mode
I'm running the latest Nabi Update.
I also noticed after running the script that several of the apps are wiped:
Skype, Their browser, iheartradio all disappear. They're reinstalled after a complete reset.

Hi There, I recently purchased a GPAD F35 from china. as I was looking around to back up all the current data I noticed It has NANDFLASH already on it ! Does that allow me to take it back to factory settings if it starts running slow etc? Ans if so what buttons would I press to get into that section? I was going to root it first then take it from there but I was told I would not need to if NANDFLASH was installed. I also want to run a virus check on there too before I put my details in to ensure no spyware was preinstalled.
Specs:
GPAD F35
OS: Google Android 4.0.4 (ICS)
CPU Rockchip RK2906 Cortex A8 1.0GHz
GPU Mali 400
Ram 512MB DDR3
If you could help me with the basics of what I should be doing before I set up my GMail account info etc and then give it to my 3 year old for christmas I would be very greatfull.
Kind Regards
I have now run a virus check which was fine x I now just need to know how to access the superuser and system restore section x x please help people

Hi There, for the money I think it is great! The GUI seems a little shody but you tube etc is spot on and HD. It is slightly laggy compared to the IPAD but as I say soo impressed for £67 you cant go wrong.

Yup I got it mainly because of the price tag also $ 90 CAN I found that the Gui screen looks much worst comparing to when the tablet was in game mode or watching HD movies. Do you have problem with the time, mine can't keep the time correctly sometimes ?

I havent noticed the time being wrong! Its a christmas present for my son so I have only had a little play. I am still interested to find out how to boot it in power user so I can plan for the worst case senario.
the tablet is not rooted so I'm afraid SuperUser can not operate properly, I try the free superuser app but it seems conflicting with Google Play so I get rid of it. BTW does yours has HDMI slot? beside the micro USB slot, mine doesn't have it so I think the buyer sent a wrong one or missing/wrong description but no biggy , so far I'm still impressed with the tablet, I did reset and run the test patch (all passed) and the gui looks neater now. I found out the the clock stop ticking if in sleep mode, still try to figure out why, oh well.
The game is released for shield tv, did anyone tried this game on our tablets..? How to buy it If i have root..? I dont want to pirate and 15 bucks are very ok.
You can buy it on your ShieldTV and then sideload it to your ST, but you should have your tablet plugged in or you will get your battery drained fast... Look how it runs here: https://youtu.be/IR4tdUXAg18

i want to buy this game, but i dont have a shiled tv, only a shield tablet.
i tried many ways like market helper or build.prop editing, without results.
Can anyone help me? if it posible, i want to buy this game from the store.
I think there is no way without a shield tv. Maybe it is possible with a virtual machine running shield tv in it. Then login with your googleaccount, buy it, safe the apk and install it on your tablet.
hmmmpf, i tried it with bluestacks etc... no chance...
Anyone other ideas?
I think there is no way... I ve got the borderlands apk from a friend who owns a shield tv. But this apk would not work because he bought it with his google account. There is a licence check, i have removed the licence check, it starts to download around 570mb and always end in a chash after downloading.
Its boring because i gave him the 15€ to buy it for me and it does not work
The only way i see, is that he use my google account on his shield tv to buy it again. But i dont want to give my account to anyone other.
I have also tried editing build prop, but thie doesnt work either.
U can create a new Google Account only for Borderlands. If you dont want to use your private account

I have an ISO 14443-3A NFC access card for university and im looking to use my S3 Frontier as my access to class and purchases on campus. i know the watch has nfc capabilities but is this possible?
I'm guessing it's possible, but you would need a custom app, and probably with root privileges.
The standard use is by Samsung Pay, which does not even replicate your existing card NFC but creates a new unique one instead.
I have to admit that this would be pretty cool, however. Things like transport cards etc which are becoming ubiquitous. There's definitely a market for this for an enterprising developer!
Do you know if there is any code documentation for that? On how to access the nfc in my gear s3 to emulate an nfc tag? Any documentation on tizen nfc?

NVM - I actually found the documentation. I am going to try and code this, oh boy, that's going to be one hell of a challenge

Me? I did. Mostly just researching right now, didn't wanted to jump the gun and start before knowing if this is even remotely possible for me. It's definitely more complex then I expected, luckily I have some nfc knowledge, so this should come in handy. I also tried to find out if someone ever tried to do such a thing, had no luck with that though.
I guess the next step is to just build a custom app that utilizes the nfc in the watch, like a very simple app to learn how to work with it, and then develop it further to somehow magically pull it off and send the data of a copied tag from the watch to a reader.
I think it's possible though if I put in enough work, even if it's a bit out of my league tbh.

Thanks, though it's more complicated that it seems (Or that I though). I run into the same issues as some other a while back, not sure how to fix it, they never found a fix either, or at least they never posted it. It feels like a problem with me using a non rooted watch, because some operations of the api i am just not able to execute right. Guess my next step is to try it with a rooted watch, maybe that solves one of the many issues

Hi I'm also interested in having an app that can emulate nfc tags like the nfc mobile app...
I did find this site if it may be of any use.
https://developer.tizen.org/community/tip-tech/tizen-nfc-card-emulation-mode[/url]
I wish you luck with getting it to work
Hi, just wondering that did you make an app for NFC tag emulation eventually? Just got my new galaxy watch 3 and found the option with "choose an app to open with NFC", with Tizen os 5.5.0.1, it seems that Samsung has open the NFC permission for users.
