Hello. Is there an app out there that turns off one's mobile internet connection automatically after a set time? Here in the Philippines, we have an option to pay for our Internet on a fixed rate every 15 mins. Very useful if you just need to send/recieve email & have no intention to stay in the internet long. But the thing is, its easy to forget the time and more charges are made. Ive searched & found apps that are KB counters only. But none so far that has a timer.
Is there anyone who knows such an app?

Hi,
I have Galaxy S I9000 Froyo update (German version) and would like to know if there is an app on the market (free or paid version) which would keep 2G Net connection and would switch to 3G Net (UMTS) only when one other app looks actively for data in Internet.
The reason for this is that I do not need to check e-mails regularly or as a push version (I'd rather do this manually) and do not need syncing with my google account on regular basis (once a day I can do manually something like this).
I would hope that an app like this would save me a lot of battery time.
If there is a way to do this on Galaxy I9000, please let me know.
At the moment I use APN on/off switch to achieve this, but an automated version (which would react to starting an Internet app such as Opera, Market, E-Mail app etc.) would be VERY nice

(to turn 3g or WLan on when a specific app is started: Internet browser or Market and turn it off when the app is killed).
I am sorry, but you have to deal with a complete idiot here: I bought the tasker
but after several days of trying to do it - I was not able to do this.
Could some "good, sweet soul" help me waste no more of my "quality time with my family" with simple introduction on how to do it?
My tasker is still a virgin - no tasks, I have I9000 International edition.

I tried many apps on the market to help my gps locking issues. I tried every rom out, and played with the conf files, and still get no instant lock. It usually takes 15 mins to get a lock. With this app I get instant lock when i inject Xtra data, which is weird cause all of the others apps I used seem to do the same
I'm running 2.3.3, EB 1.0.7, Stock Kernel

yes,
while navigation says searching for gps, open the app and hit inject xtra data
is this an option that pops up only while navigation is on? because i just opened the app and dont see an option to inject xtra data....

Why would a GPS app require full internet access. The Chart Cross GPS works and does not require that permission level.
The description reads it's only for devs and requires Cupcake or later...?
we are on later.... and i dont know what it does... but i just open the app same time as navigation and instant locks also... so it works whatever it's doing... i also upgraded to eb 107 so who knows...

Thanks for confirming I'm not the only one...weird thing I tried a lot off other apps ex. Gps status etc and it helps with the lock but not instant. I'm pretty sure this is a old ass app

Test out my rom... out of the box I was getting quick GPS lock.... by I have yet to hear any feedback from others confirming one way or the other

I rooted my htc sensation ..reccently .....is der any way to limit the gprs usuage to specific applications?
If you mean to limit certain applications from using the internet, then the only way you can do that is by using the Application Permission Management feature on CM7 and crossing out the app's internet permission.
If what you mean is to limit specific apps to only use the 2G network, then I'm not aware of an efficient way to do that. All I could think of is using an app like Tasker to change your mobile network settings to the 2G setting when you open whatever app it is, but that would slow your phone down further while it switches between connection settings.
is there any other custom rom for the same or insertcoin add on file??

Keep in mind you are routing all your traffic through a 3rd party...it's fine for streaming pandora but don't use it to access your banking website...email etc.

This will also tells the navigation and deligation details on screen short. If a cell phone is theft and it is android and you have installed this app, It would get the pic of thief and send to your mail ID frequently with 3-5 min gap duration....
