Bypassing amazon app store requirement - AT&T, Rogers HTC One X, Telstra One XL

Is there anyway to bypass having to have the amazon app store installed when trying to run apps you've purchased from it? I bought tapatalk using the Amazon app store, just to try both apps out and I love it (tapatalk).
Edit: and, I'm sorry if its been asked before, I haven't actually researched it that much.

my question would be whats wrong with the amazon app store? i keep it just to check the free apps of the day. I've found a lot of nice apps for free that way. I have absolutely no problem with having amazon installed and cant figure out why anyone would have a problem with it...Its not big, its not a resource hog..confused:

Im with Nugzo on this one. What is the problem with having amazon app store installed? Its a great resource for nabbing some pretty nice free apps and doesn't really hog any resources.

I don't really use it :/ I mean, I've never really been bothered with checking out the app of the day or anything to that nature. But, its more of a curiosity/cleanup deal for me. Its not a necessity to remove it, but would be nice to know just in case I ever did want to.

If you're rooted you could always use titanium backup. Backup your app, remove Amazon app store, and then restore app. This will work but you won't get any app updates. The only reason I know this works is from restoring apps after a fresh rom install without using the app store. I see no reason to not have it on there.

this does NOT work on all apps from Amazon. some of mine tell me to install amazon before i can use them even when restored using TiB. Of course updates are needed too. I would rather just have Amazon installed. I guess I understand where you are coming from OP. Gotta manage our space with the HOX.Amazon Appstore App/Data 15.70MB. Of course you'd have to uninstall 70 apps of this size to free up a Gigabyte..

Like I said, it wasn't a necessity or anything. I was just curious because I forget a lot of the time to install it after I wipe/flash.

I would also like to know if anyone is working on this. I disagree with the users who say that the Amazon Appstore is not a resource hog.
I was getting horrible battery life on my Galaxy Nexus due to the Amazon Appstore. I finally broke down and just purchased all of my FAOTD apps that I actually used from the Play Store just so I could uninstall the Amazon Appstore. I've had much better battery life without the Appstore installed.
In response to the other post that you can simply backup and restore apps after uninstalling the Appstore, I've found that only about 10% of my Amazon Appstore apps will function without the Appstore being installed. So for most apps, you NEED to have the appstore installed for them to continue to function.
Edit: Add screen shot I took of Amazon Appstore taking up lots of battery:

If Amazon App Store is using that much battery I'd suggest uninstalling, rebooting, reinstalling. I have it on my One X and it hasn't used a bit of battery in standby mode... Never has unless I'm actually using it. I did disable the in-app purchasing option, but doubt if that makes a deference.

Yes. I read the entire post and thanks button could not be selected for whatever reason. I didn't feel my response was pointless. I personally like seeing others saying they had success, especially in an old thread if something still works, but hey what do I know and you are the moderator so I will heed. Nope. I heard its *exclusive* to the Amazon Appstore. Not sure if its permanent of for the opening fee weeks or so, but the Amazon Appstore isn't available for the UK yet.
But id be careful about links as when I checked the Appstore, it was free for yesterday only.

What about creating a sticky, where the Amazon Free Apps of the Day are posted, to benefit those who dont live in the US?

I think that you will probably find that Amazon are actually paying the developers for these "free" apps, so essentially this would be promoting warez.
Note, that I don't know this for a fact, but certainly in the case of Angry Birds Rio you can be certain that Rovio didn't make it an Amazon AppStore exclusive for love!
Regards,
Dave
it's still free, i posted it here with the reasoning why http://www.droid-den.com/android-news/get-angry-birds-rio-here-today-only
Angry birds will be free once it hits the market for everyone else who doesnt have access to the amazon store, however those other 1 day free premium apps won't be, so best not post them.

You should be able to extract the rom with unrar either from the market on the evo or on your pc, I do this for psx games and works well on fpse. Would be the same for dreamcast games just got to extract the rom first.
I purchased the app and it FC's when I try to open a ROM or go into the Settings. I uninstalled and reinstalled and it still doesn't work. I'm not going to request a refund because I have faith in it.

Dude. You are not allowed to attach paid versions of apps in this forum. That is lame of you to even ask.
STOP TYPING IN ALL CAPS FOR THE LOVE OF GOD. And also, asking someone to download it (i.e. pay for it), then upload it (i.e. PAY FOR IT AND GIVE IT TO YOU FOR FREE) is completely ****ed up. You must be under the age of 16.

This thread makes me smile... and it makes me grateful for being intelligent.
*** I didn't bother to look at his other apps because I've never had to do that before. I will look into it now and if I find it is a scam I will contact Google to get my money back. I also will call my CC company to file a claim and investigate the fraud. ***
It's not that serious because it was only $8- $9 but it's the principle. I'll report back what I find. To the people reporting it was a scam you could have came in here earlier and posted that. ***
Ok so I looked at all his other apps and read the comments and he is a SCAMMER. All his apps are paid and I went through the comments and the apps all FC.
The actual developer for NullDCe is Drk||Raziel. I suggest you all flag his apps in the market. This makes me glad that I have an iPad because this sort of stuff never happens (thanks to app screening). I downloaded the app because I saw this thread and only saw one comment saying that it worked. I figured that there was only one comment since it was just released "today".
What irks me the most is that the bastard is probably giggling like a schoolgirl right now while watching his Paypal account increase. I'd hate to think that I'm helping fund someones college tuition cost or beer money.
By the way I'm willing to bet the OP is the developer or knows the developer and was using the warez as a cover for the fraud. The dude has a low post count and came in advertising the app. I'm going to flag this thread so the mods can determine when he created his account and BAN him.
Here's an example of the Android app return policy royally screwing over the consumer. I take full responsibility for getting scammed and if I could I would falcon punch the developer in the cranium.
@Shamoneymurda
Asking for warez is against forum rules. Also, you were asked to stop typing in caps. Please stop. I will not warn you again.
@all,
I am closing this thread because if gqsstatus is right, this will end up being more harmful than not.

How to disable ads in the Android notifications menu
How to disable ads in the Android notifications menu
A slowly growing number of Android app developers have chosen to adopt AirPush, an advertising system that places ads in the Android notification window. I won’t get into a long-winded argument about the pros-and-cons of doing this or how tough it is for developers to make money. The bottom line is that users don’t want it and they want a way to get rid of it.
Android users can get rid of AirPush notifications in a few ways. The most obvious is to remove the offending app, something that most people have done. If an app you like begins sending ads to your notification area, simply uninstall it and let the developer know. That’s the most effective way of getting the message across. However, this may present a problem if you install several apps and can’t figure out which is pushing the ads. AirPush Detector searches a device’s installed apps list and points out which apps have the advertising system built-in. From there, the user can easily tap to uninstall.
What about the middle ground? You may despise AirPush but want to continue using the apps that feature it. AirPush Permanent Opt-out is a simple app to place on the phone and not have to worry about further notification ads. The app installs on a device and then prevents any Airpush ad from loading. It’s as easy as those set it and forget it commercials.
Editor’s Note: I’d like to take the time to remind people that AirPush exists because it pays developers more for advertising than they earn from their in-app ads that pay far less and practically no one clicks on purpose. Don’t be afraid to reward developers who release quality apps by purchasing premium or donate versions of worthwhile apps.
*If I helped you, don't forget to hit the "Thanks!" button! *

as an avid flasher I have encountered the "too many authorized devices please purchase another copy or remove devices" error. you have to remove the multiple copies of the same device in Amazon settings on the desktop site. if you are unsure which devices to leave authorized you can check by opening the kindle app on each device and in settings it will give you the name of the device ie "7th android" and will allow you to rename the device as well
I have to say, I don't quite understand!:crying:

I was stupid and instead of deactivating a device before selling or trading it I would just wipe the device and install a fresh ROM. Can I deactivate devices from my amazon account and be able to read these again?

Yes you can deactivate the extra devices
I flashed my Kindle with a Jelly Bean Rom and I don't really read many books. I use this thing in school and I got the Kindle Android OS saved and backed up. So when school hits I might bring this and the teachers think I read a book when they walk by but really, I just get on the internet or use a texting app. Or watch a movie with subtitles
its easy to remove devices, I find the hard part is finding the right page in the amazon account settings.
If you don't know which is active just deactivate all of them, it registers again when you sign in.
Also why does Amazon keep prompting me to buy a kindle when I already own one.

LG G3 Tweakbox

hi guys, while I was surfing google play I've found an app that is similar to wanam xposed on samsung phones.
the only problem is this app is semi-paid (I mean most of good features need to be donated).
this is the app and see for yourself :-
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=it.ptoti.g3_tweaksbox
-------
so, if anyone have a good xposed tool like this one or like wanam and FREE for the lg g3 please place it in the comment section. ?

You have got to be kidding me.
This phone isn't cheap, but you guys aren't willing to spend $2 on an app that allows you to customise your phone to a whole new level with an amazing dev that takes feedback and implements requests if it can be done?
I've purchased the app already and will be donating further money via Paypal for this amazing tweak app.

Support the developers! Its less than $2.00 to use the Xposed framework at ease...

Great App, but....
I love the app, but after installing it on my G3, I noticed that it really started to lag while switching from screen to screen, or even when typing something, it would take a few seconds to show up. I removed it and havent had lag issues since. Not sure if its something else going on causing it, but the app itself is amazing, just wish my phone would work without the lag.

There should be no correlation between the lag and G3 TWB. I have used TWB on 2 different mode G3's and it doesn't create lag. I would check to see if there is something else causing the lag.

I don't really think its an issue with app itself, but couldn't figure out what else would be interfering with it, so I just deleted the most obvious thing.
Wish I could figure out what else would cause it, cause I would love to have the app back.
please kids read the forums or search for the thing you want to post. it`s not that hard.
the sub forum you posted this in is full of tweaksbox themes and you thought you will tell us here something new?
come on, don`t post a new thread when you have no time / motivation to discover if there exists a thread already! thanks!
While I was searching the play store, I found this game called "Angry Birds" .Whole lot of fun, but you better grab it quick, I don't think it will catch on

No need for the stupid comments. A simple request to close the thread would suffice.

Uh, dad, I'm sorry....it's a joke. A sense of humor. Are you the post police? Get a life bro, this isn't life changing work. Its something we all do as an interest, having fun is acceptable. No ones life is at stake. If the OP took offense and he said something I'd gladly apologize, but not to you. Go away. Its guys like you who suck the life out of things

No im not the post police lol Everyone has a sense of humour, myself included..believe it or not. I was in no way having a personal go at u. I apologise if u feel u were being made fun of. I just don't see the point in making pointless posts. It just takes all the longer for anyone actually trying to search and read thru the forums/posts when they are spammed with irrelevant comments.
If everyone would just take the time to search and read before posting, everyone's experience here would be so much better.
no color wheel
When I try to change colors I don't get the color wheel, I just get three sliders, the saturation the opacity, and the value sliders (no color Wheel) what's wrong ? I have lg g3 d851 stock rom running lollipop 5.0.1, xposed version 78, compiled for SDK 21, lg g3 tweakbox version 1.5.1 What's Wrong!
