If If I go root and get a custom rom in the dev section, would I be able to select a chinese language? Or would I have to get a rom from, say, a chinese forum?

HTC Inspire is perfect with the stock ROM, you can find everything you need in Android Market.

the ROM manager from android market doesn't have my phone listed for the clockword mod recovery. So I can't do the backup and restore or flash or whatever.
This is my first time rooting so I want to make sure everything is backed up. Can't do it without this program.
I know the version I need because others with LG Optimus 3D also can't get there phone with the current ROM manager.
I found it on google but it's from mediafire. It's also the premium version so that's stealing from the author. It could have viruses.
Is there a legit site where I can get old versions?
No need to have ROM Manager to backup or restore the phone.
If you have the recovery installed, just into it. Next go to backup/restore
Then choose backup.

no that's what I am saying. I can't install the recovery because my phone is not listed.
There is an old version of ROM manager with my phone listed, but it's an illegal premium version from mediafire.
I don't know if it's safe.
Put a new cwm manualy on your phone instead of trying to find it in Rom manager

Hey,
If you found an old one, could you let me know where from? I need to flash recovery on an HTC Hero.. alternatively, if you didn't: have you tried the Recovery Manager app on the market? It's the one with the two gear icons, com.simran.recmanager .. sorry, i'm a noob so i can't post externa links. It might support your phone.
Try 4shared

Hi,
I know it was a while ago but can you make the old rom manager available for me, please? I couldn't find it anywhere, even on apktops, and I would desperately need it for my old HTC Hero.
Thank you!

If you need that, you or someone else will need to build it. We don't currently have anything like that on here.

i cant build . and im not expert for this
i can translate the firmwere and the apps but i cant make language option in setting
I found an application that supports addition of Arabic locales in the Play store. It works to change most of the menus, etc. to Arabic and other languages. I tested on CM9 ICS, and it worked to quickly change most items to Arabic. However, this solution didn't work on any non-CM roms that I tried.:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bruce.setlocale
With CM9, this, and the other link I mentioned earlier, you'll be closer to full Arabic.
I know you asked about non-CM roms, but this was the closest to full solution that I could find.

And I have tried brainmasters miui but i cant mount the system so i have tried to install the official English miui but it has language bugs on certain settings apps! I am unsure if I am doing a wrong installation combo!
Is there any one who can point me in the right direction of the official miui (in cwm or twrp form) with links and correct language to make the rom fully English

I know people will say Search for this and that, but it is often very difficult and google does not always show effective search results with the way they have been handling their search, a majority of people will have a hard time locating exact information. Here's my thread.

I know that there a whole lot of rom posts for individual roms. I AM NOT TAKING ANY CREDIT FOR OTHERS WORK! ANY OF THESE ROMS SHUOLD BE IN THE FORMS. I am doing this becuase most of the time download links are broken or the download site for a rom is shuts down. So feel free to post your own roms or roms that you have found. Please if you do post a rom, upload it using the attachment button ( OR THE URL TO THE XDA POST) not some other website and if you can include a link and the description from the original author that would be nice. If you have tried a rom you have posted please tell if it is compatible or not, thanks
AS ALWAYS I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY THING YOU DO TO YOUR DEVICE! FLASH AT YOUR OWN RISK.
ALWAYS GIVE CREDIT TO THE PEOPLE WHO WORK SO HARD ON THESES ROMS, DONT BE RUDE!

Don't you think this thread is a little redundant? Why not just go to the development section. The threads that are active will be good ROMs.

I'm switching between Validus and Liquid Smooth. Both are very smooth with lots of customization. Both have very active G+ communities.
You can always root, install a custom recovery and try a ROM. Just backup your stock ROM and you can always switch back. Takes like maybe three minutes to reinstall a backup.

If you want the official update for kikat when it comes out, then find the official stock rom and keep in a safe place. When u hear that the update was released use titanium backup back up your apps, then flash the stock and it will say your device is offical and let you update. Once updated, go into download mode and flash twrp. Twrp will root your device. Once rooted, reinstall titanium backup, restore your apps. WHEN USING TITANIUM BACKUP ONLY BACKUP USER APPS AND DATA ONLY. DO NOT BACK UP SYSTEM APPS, it causes problems and makes things crash, its not pretty( I did it ). There you have it. run stock rooted with the newest official update. Of course you could just flash a custom kikat rom that would be easier.

You can not attach a rom using the attachment option on XDA. The file size would be too big.
The thread is useless.

NO, BUT, the OP wants to compile a list of ROMS with links that actually DO work.
and Not sift thru the other section to find a pile of broken links,,
So far.. unfortunately, it hasn't happened as of yet.

Speaking of stock rom, does anyone know where I can download a copy of the stock rom and/or kitkat? Every place I have found so far either requires a paid subscription or throws up a download unsuccessful error. Any help would be appreciated.
