Is there a custom rom for S2 Skyrocket (UCKJ2) that supports arabic? if not, can anyone please make one that supports arabic? something similar to:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1292841
Thanks
I have the same problem. I just moved up from the iPhone crowd and was dissapointed that Google doesn't like right-to-left.
The s2 I traded in had a fixed rom.
PS. Not that you guys only work for it, but I WILL DONATE, thank and respect the solver
-rooted sgs2 skyrocket
Yeah I am willing to donate also!
Same thing here, would like to see a support for the arabic language. I just upgraded from an HTC HD2 and installed a support pack. Hope someone can provide us with something soon. Would something from the SGS-H777 work?
Anyone??? Please I really need this
Still no one with the arabic support?
I am hoping madmack or someone will come up with an arabic support for skyrocket.
Arabic for skyrocket
Please if anyone finds support for that let me know at. [email protected]
I've fixed the issue to a great extent.I rooted my phone a while ago so I could use titanium backup.
It just happens that there is a patch in the google market that requires root access. This patch can be found by searching for "rtl patch"
Thank me if I helped by clicking on the thank button

I have searched for rtl patch in market and the results that I got were:
- Browser Arabic Hebrew Patch
- Transport Montreal
- The Easy Tehilim
I didn't find any rtl patch, did you mean "Browser Arabic Hebrew Patch"?

Yeah, Browser Arabic Hebrew Patch, by brightidea. It does not solve the issue completely though, just in the browser and some web based apps like palringo (which i love)
I guess that I should clarify the fact that you need to have root access to use the patch.
Again please press the thank button if I helped, cause developers have not done so :-\

The issue has been solved COMPLETELY!!!
For those who are both rooted, and have CWM installed
is anyone still watching this topic?
Would be great to learn how you solved it...
Any detail you can share on the recommended procedure for RTL support would be warmly welcomed.
This may be what you guys are looking for or at least a start.

Exactly! The patch worked on my phone, i didn't even have to install the rom first
YOUR DEVICE MUST BE ROOTED FIRST
Thank You!
Thank you! this is awesome. I just rooted my phone to enable tethering and finally got my phone to read Arabic properly with this patch.

this is my first android phone, but before i had a windows mobile phone for years. I did a rom switch on that phone. But now i want to remove some stock app on the sensation (like facebook, twitter and other stupid stuf) with stock rom, I still didnt do anything with it.
Can anyone help me please, sorry for the hussle
thanks in advance
This thread should help: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1445169
First of all you need to root your phone even If you don't want to flash any custom rom. The reason is you want to remove some of the system applications. After rooting you can use titanium backup to remove these app. But make sure you have nandroid backup if anything goes wrong.

Good evening, good news i succesfully made my phone s-off and rooted it. (2hours) Now i got a question: i try to remove twitter and facebook. The application installer removed it from the phone because i saw the data going down, but i still have the icons in my programlist. Is there any way to remove them, without booting a hole new rom. As you can read im still a newbee here.
Btw titanium backup says im succesfully rooted. Yay, Hope someone knows a answer.
And Xda Congrats with the 50.000 achievement
Boys keep up the good work !

Congrats and welcome to XDA. I would never go back to anything other than an Android OS. It is so much more customizable than anything else out there. I would say read through the forums and see what you can do and what you can tweak. Also, if you get bored you can try flashing different ROMS and see what you like best.
I was already member of xda years before in the time of qtek 2020i. (guus they called it then xda or mda. But unfortunally i lost my account from then, so had to make a new one. Otherwise i was not a newbee . For now i still like the stock ROM of htc. (stable and all functions work. Unlike the bèta verions of ics)

If If I go root and get a custom rom in the dev section, would I be able to select a chinese language? Or would I have to get a rom from, say, a chinese forum?

If you need that, you or someone else will need to build it. We don't currently have anything like that on here.

I found an application that supports addition of Arabic locales in the Play store. It works to change most of the menus, etc. to Arabic and other languages. I tested on CM9 ICS, and it worked to quickly change most items to Arabic. However, this solution didn't work on any non-CM roms that I tried.:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bruce.setlocale
With CM9, this, and the other link I mentioned earlier, you'll be closer to full Arabic.
I know you asked about non-CM roms, but this was the closest to full solution that I could find.

After I found this post I was 95% sure that the ICS version of the HTC IME Keyboard will work on JB too but as it turns out I was wrong. At least for the Galaxy Nexus that's the situation. You might ask why stick to HTC IME when there are great keyboards on the market. The thing is that HTC IME has the best T9 support. I have tried every keyboard and no one satisfied me better than HTC IME. So, is there anyone able and willing to port it to JB?
I'd gladly donate a beer to the hacker who would make the port. Thanks in advance.
I would need that too, the only thing that's keeping me from using JB. Yea I know SwiftKey is superb but I just don't like it. I'm used to HTC keyboard
Its the old htc ime keyboard maybe you guys should try the new sense 4.0+ keyboard. If you guys need the apk pm me and I will send you.
HTC IME Keyboard, and I do not think change! I wonder if anyone ever gets to use the 4.1.1 JB ..
greetings
Offtopic : The keyboard of the xperia s/u/p (so the nxt serie, which do t9 and completre keyboard) is great. I which someone to port it for any device

I have the APK extracted from some HTC ROM. but it will not install on my Nexus.
I guess some libs must be present for the APK to be installed...
APK attached.
