MHL adapter issue. 1080p @24hz or [email protected] - HTC One S

I got two tvs
a 46" 1080p
and a 32" 720p
When using the MHL cable in the 1080p tv, the tv picks up 1080p @24hz from the phone which is not what I want. Very slow refresh rate.
My 32" tv is perfect and picks up 720p @50hz.
Obviously the handshake is picking up the best resolution. Is there anyway to force 720p on the big tv?

If anyone is having the same problem, I'm tweaking the kernel to get rid of the 24hz mode. I think I know where it lies.

Yes !!! after hours of searching and figuring out how to compile Kernels, I've found how to force the refresh rate, seems to be an issue with 1080p tvs.
Now getting 720p @60hz on my 1080p tv. which is much better than 24hz which was lag city in games. I'll post more later.

If anyone would like to test this 720p 60hz option with the kernel i've posted below.
It's the DZO overclocked kernel with just this mod made.

HD Record

Some questions about the camcorder..
I'm on the kang nightly cm7 with faux kernel.. However, when I record using the stock gingerbread cam, no matter what quality video the FPS is around 10-12fps...
Anyone know why?
Edit: It's on 30fps at 1080P with a lot of light, however when it dims a bit, it drops to aroudn 12fps.

Video at 60fps?

Hello,
I have played with the U11+ for a couple of days by now, making many tests, but something that got my mind was the fact that the video at 60fps is not 60fps, and is not even close.
I have tried to record in [email protected], but all the videos come in really low fps, around 30-35. I can immediately notice that is not even changing the fps when I change the mode, and with the output is the same.
Someone with similar experiences?.
Thanks!
Is it was in day sun or at night ?
I think the frames will drop at night but night as much as 30-35 fps
Make sure you have selected 60fps in camera options

As I said, the option is selected and I have tested both in daylight and night.
Frames shouldn't drop that much, because what's the point to choose the option of 60fps if it will record at 30fps?.
I think is a bug of the camera.

4k 60FPS video recording limited to 5mins

smooth UHD is limited to 5 mins in length is the notification I get while using the camera to record video at 4k 60 FPS, 4k 30fps also is limited to 10mins in length.
Any way to bypass that?

Google camera can only record 4k at 30fps while OnePlus camera can also record at 60fps

But you could record in 4k/30fps without any problem, instead of trying the OnePlus camera..
Even some high end DSLRs do this because recording in 4K generates a lot of heat, so they limit you to prevent damage to the device. It's not recommended to bypass that limit.

Just like another 10 mins would be enough , I won't shoot 2hrs 4k movies.

Oh, I get ya, believe me. Just stating the logic behind it
Any solution?
just like someone said before.... shooting 4k 60fps longer then 5/10 minutes will heat up the device and will degrade the battery

Is it possible to overclock the 90hz? (maybe 120)

I saw it on the xiaomi 9/9t forum that you can overclock it from 60 to 75 / 84hz, is it possible with the OnePlus 7 Pro too?

120hz? Never. Maybe 100, but videos will look bad and your battery life would be bad af

I understand battery life would be slightly worse but why would videos look bad?

Because the Hz number should always be:
60, 120, 144, 240 or sth like that. If its not in sync with the video it wouldn't look smooth

Correct. Most cinematography is shot in 24fps (Netflix etc). Most YouTube content is rendered in 30fps or 60fps. Thus, 60/90/120hz refresh rates are used on most displays. After that 144hz is used because it's 24*3 and then 240 (240hz is not as common since there aren't many games that can sustain 240fps on current hardware).
In short, as long as the refresh rate is a multiple of either 24 or 30 it won't cause issues on most content. Good example is my gaming monitor being overclocked to 165hz. It's nice for gaming but for content consumption I need to remove my OC to get it back to 144hz otherwise I just deal with some choppiness in the video. Overclocking this display to 100hz would make tasks like scrolling and gaming better (at the risk of worse battery life pushing more pixels per second) but would really impact content consumption, which is what most people do on their smart phones 50% of the time.

Good explanation! Cheers
Is there an opportunity to overclock the screen by oneplus 7 pro?

Question Serious video lag on 60 fps videos?

When I watch videos in 60 fps (720p or 1080p), there is serious lag on it. There's very bad stuttering that makes every video only watchable in 480p. The Snapdragon 480 is a very powerful CPU, so when my Moto E6, which has a Snapdragon 435, and my Moto G7 Power, which has a Snapdragon 632, can both play 60 fps videos smoothly, is this really a issue with the chipset or is it a matter with the OS? FYI I'm using Electimon's LOS 19.0

I never tested GPS because I use my G7 Power as the GPS.
The only fix I found was to go back to stock. It's definitely the ROM. I don't know if that same issue will occur on GSIs. I plan on installing a Android 12L GSI

I've had this issue since I got the device in dec'21 just on stock rom. Alot of apps have issues playing them, but if I use Edge browser it plays them perfectly. I was wondering if the issue could be with which decoder it's calling for....?
