[Q] Complete wipe? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket SGH-I727

I own the sky rocket S2 on the ICS Sky rom and it is amazing. I googled around, but could not find an exact answer and rather then brick my phone I'm hoping others here can help me.
I am looking to COMPLETELY wipe my phone, as in any images or older programs I installed to be completely gone. Just have factory items just as I bought the phone on day 1.
When installing the roms I do the factory reset, but I find that my apps/other files that I had previously installed are still there!
Ultimately I want to erase everything and just start fresh with the new base of Sky ICS.
Thanks in advance!

You have to boot into recovery then u have to wipe data/ factory reset. Then u have to go into mounts and storage and format system then u go under advanced and wipe dalvik cache. The u have to flash an ics modem. Then u have to flash sky ics and then reboot and ur phone should be formated and ull be running sky ics

Zeus 3 not booting up

I am pretty much a noob but I really enjoy this Infuse and the different ROMS I have been testing. This site is really great and I thank and really appreciate all the hard work and time that goes into this site.
I was running Caty Rom and though I would try Zeus 3.
I followed the directions and all I see now is a 'SAMSUNG' screen that flickers on and off occasionally. I have tried twice now to install Zeus 3.
I will go back to Caty now but If anyone has seen this I would really like to try Zeus3.
I have a red CWM. Does that mean anything?
you wont get a good answer if you dont post in the right place ..they dont like it ..repost here:

To go from Caty uckj4 to zeus uckl2, you may need to do a full wipe and factory reset if you did not do that the first time.
back up what ever data or apps you had.
go to cwm. factory reset. wipe cache. goto advance: wipe dalvik and fix permisiion.
go back to main. go to mount: format system, data and cache.
then install zeus
if that doesnt work,
Here is h8rift's Odin UCKD5 Return to Stock with ROOT + 3e Recovery.

use the first package.
factory reset, wipes etc
then flash zeus

This is JordanElliott's guide to flash a rom with no problems. I've used it a dozen times and it always comes through for me.
Zeus is for advanced users...if your new to flashing i suggest flashing something else to get used to the process

[Q] Flash back to gingerbread custom rom from ics

I want to go back to gingerbread (nexus mod 4) can I just flash it using the instructions in the thread? Or do I have to go back to stock with Odin or something first?
Thanks
No need for odin imho
I did the same thing you did. To be ocd I reset user data (twice), cleared the davlik (twice), formatted the system (twice) in storage and mounts and then flashed the darkside superwipe (once). Then I flashed the Nexus rom (all in CWM)

[Q] custom ROM boot problem!

Hey everyone,
I'm a new-by to the tech world. I have a "google nexus s" running on ICS 4.0.4, I recently rooted my phone, flashed clockworkmod recovery and tried to install CM9 on my device. After the installation was completed through the clockworkmod, the boot image had showen up and continued to boot throughout the night and never showed up the home screen nor did the custom ROM open itself.
Can anyone give me a lil help as to about what this problem is or the reason why this is happening?
Any help would be really appreciated.
Thanx!
Did you do a full wipe and cache wipe? My suggestion is to do that and reinstall. You could also try a different ROM.
But wouldnt I loose my phone data if I do that?

i'm having the same problem for every ROM i try on my phone! what to do?
You have a bootloop, this appears because of kernel (boot.img) problems and/or inconsistent cache.
Please wipe/erase cache and Dalvik cache (this can be found in the Advanced menu). Wiping cache partition and Dalvik cache won't erase your personal data.
Make sure the previously flashed CM zip contained a boot.img file. If not, please flash a proper/recommended boot.img (kernel; which is in a zip file) or another rom (with boot.img).
When you flash a new rom over your stock.. first make a backup, then you need to wipe data, cache and dalvik cache..

Hey guys I've been on Ginger dx and as video problem is fixed on ics, I tried it. I installed 3 roms: icy snap, lastkiss and whitehawk but every time I start using the phone it either stuck and then shut down or show me lg logo and boots up
plz help me!
Possible solutions:
1. Try wiping all data, cache etc and dont forget to format boot also.
2. Try reflashing the rom.
3.Just check whether roms you downloaded are not corrupted.

I tried them all but none of them worked
The roms are not corrupted because the three of them work on my brother's p500 without any problem
i even tried to install a new clockwork version and new kernels but nothing solved the problem
help me pleeeeeaaaaaaase !
Did you do:
Wipe -> Factory Reset -> Cache -> Dalvik Cache -> System -> SD-EXT?
I can't think of anything that would prevent the ROMS to work except for not deleting everything before installing them.

I did everything you can ever imagine in recovery but the problem persists
In fact my problem is with ICS roms ( the three ones I mentioned ) but gingerbread roms work perfect !
I'm going mad with this problem and I can't imagine why only ICS roms donn't work properly !

[Q] how to update cm10 rom?? (im a noob)

i want to update cm10 for the infuse 4g but i dont know how can someone please help and if i do update it does it delete all my apps and stuff please help?
Yes it will delete everything as you will need to do a full wipe. There are many apps that will back everything up but I use titanium back up. Once you back everything boot to recovery and do a full wipe/format and flash your ROM of choice and gapps... any questions... let me know.... I'm still a noob but I'm sure I can help you flash a ROM...

If I am reading your question right, you are asking how to update cm10 to cm10. Aka newer version?
If it is the same ROM download it and the corresponding gapps (if newer)
Turn off your phone and take out your SD card.
Then boot into recovery. (Either three finger it, or start the phone back up and reboot into recovery)
At the main menu wipe cache.
Go into advanced menu and wipe dalvik cache.
Go back and go into mounts and storage.
Format /system
Then go back and flash from sdcard
Choose the newer ROM image and flash.
Then flash the new gapps.
Then restart phone. If it goes back to recovery just hit reboot phone again.
This method will not delete your personal apps just system apps. It may reset a few settings, such as log in credentials. But no big deal. (This would depend on the app not what you did)
These methods will never delete your personal photos or music. Only way to ever mess this up is a brick. Which only happens when you do risky flashes, or flash over USB with faulty wires.
If you are asking to go cm10 from cm9 it is described in the ROMs.
If you are going from say cm10 to liquid smooth rom, you can try the above method, but some settings may transfer funny and screw stuff up, so it is better to do the above steps but first do a Wipe data/factory reset.
This factory reset unfortunately wipes all your personal apps. To avoid this as best as possible I suggest titanium back up and use it to back up all your apps. The difference between pay and free titanium back up that you will notice, is that the paid one auto installs all apps, free one you have to install them by pressing install, done, install, done. This is annoying with 25+ apps. I paid for this reason alone.
Hope I helped at all.

It is the first one thanks BTW but I flashed the zip file but didn't wipe anything and it booted up fine it didn't delete anything but now I'm worried that it may of messed up something??

If you notice glitchy things I would recommend wipe and reinstall but if all is well I wouldn't worry about it.
