Hello,
I would like tell you about a little app I have co-developed. It's been on Google Play for some time now, but I wanted to make sure it's good enough before presenting it on this venerable forum
The name is: Hourly Chime Ultimate
Its goal is to turn your phone into a chime-playing clock.
There are several sound schemes to choose from:
a Casio watch
a cuckoo clock (striking the hour or just playing once an hour)
Big Ben (different chimes each quarter plus the clock striking the hour or just one chime once an hour)
phone's Text-to-Speech engine telling the time (still beta because of differences in TTS engines).
The chime can be played using as a ringer, multimedia or notification stream, so one can silence it when the ringer is silenced, or control the volume separately.
Some additional features that we already implemented (hopefully self-explanatory):
shake-to-silence
quiet hours
The plans are to provide more built-in chime sounds, as well as allow custom sounds and advanced configuration. Next versions will also feature silencing the chime when headset is detected.

i was looking for an app like this. i used to have it on my symbian phone. i tried this out and it worked at first. checked the option for it to be silent from 10pm to 5am. after that, it never notified me hourly anymore. it works when i try to test it.

We've had a number of reports like this, but it's really very hard to figure out what the actual problem is. The app works fine on most devices, but crashes periodically on some (Android 4+). It doesn't seem to be connected with the silent hours option though. All I can do is to ask you for some more patience. I'm really sorry for that...
good app.
installed it. and liked it a lot. thanks

Hi guys,
I've been searching for an app that allows my phone to automaticly switch to vibrate whenever I have an appointment(listed in Agenda). Does anybody know of such a program?
NOTE: I'm NOT looking for a program that switches based on GPS location.
There's gotta be some app out there that does this....right?
Delete... did not see it was for android... sorry.
CMP aka CommManagerpro can do that.
Its the number one super app for WinMo - my favorite..
Its worth all the money

This is the Android section.
Locale
Locale will do that. You don't have to use the gps. It has calendar event based triggers too. You have to assign specific events (just once) though. I have mine go to silent during all my school/work calendar events. Works like a charm.

Thanks, I'll have a look into it.
So I've been using Locale for awhile now, but it kinda bothers me that I'll have to add every appointment to the ''Vibrate'' Profile.
Does anybody know an app that automaticly switches to vibrate, once there's a appointment in the Calendar, with a state marked Busy?[Basicly, something like the built in one of Sense UI]
Try This
I had been looking for the same thing for some time and stuck it in the back of my mind. This thread brought it back and thought I would do some hunting. I found one that uses a calendar keyword. Based on the keyword, it'll do varous 'tasks' including putting phone into silent or vibrate. It's called "Setting Profiles". I chose the lite cuz I'm cheap. The lite lets you add only one profile option. The "pro" will let you do more and it's only $2.95. I may consider it. I'm trying other options too. If I can remember, I'll update this post.
Thanks I just tried it, but it can only set profiles based on keywords T.T. Guess I'll have to add college to every entry <.>
I just don't get why there ain't one that simply switches to vibrate for ALL appointments, it can't be that hard right?

I've got Sound Manager on my phone and I can schedule when it'll switch volume levels.
I use timerriffic, sharp, and based on schedules that i create...
No intergreation with calander though...

I use this one. It is very straight forward and works well.
Setting Profiles
It does work on calendar events marked BUSY ... its a check box right above where you enter the wildcard or key word.
My issue is getting my Corp calendar sync'd with the google calendar so that the apps see it.
I'm testing office 2010 and none of the free sync clients work ...
Spark Audio Profiles
We have recently release Spark Audio Profiles v2.1 with many exciting features.
Download from the market. Search for 'Spark Audio Profiles'
or you can try out the lite version first.
Here is a screenshot which may give you some idea about the app.

goood
much better then to look everytime on livescore.com
I got confused with another livescore app at first. THis app seems great. I would like to have notifications, good job so far!
looks great. nice one
Nice app.
Are you a developer?
If you are, could you please add Serbian league?
Thanks a lot.
Fantastic app
Any chance we could tag teams which we'd always like to receive notifications on rather than on a game by game basis
Other than that it's much better than Google Scoreboard as it shows cards and goal scorers
Oli
Sorry for being a noob but where do I download this? Where's the "Market"?
will find it.?
Hi, .apk file added.
Yes, I am the developer of this app. Hope you would like it.
With 1.4.4, you can shake your phone to update score.
Updated to 1.4.6:
• Added "ShakeRefresh" (beta) If your phone supports motion detection you can shake it to update
• Added vibrate feedback when you shake
• Fixed notification, auto refresh problems and bugs
I had some problems with the notifications and refresh before.. will try new update.
question:
- the "Auto refresh" icon in the notification bar shows a timestamp, shouldn't this change on refresh?
Edit: also, it doesn't have Champions League coverage

Thanks for your support.
We DO cover CL. Just that these days don't have CL matches so there is none shown.
For the timestamp, it is the time that you first run the service. We will update it with "Last update time" in the next release. Thanks.
To get CL scores, which filter do I need to select (if any) ?
Great app! Is there a way that it can do the other sports scores from livescore.com? Very interested in the hockey.

Thanks.
Is there something like this for WM? (HD2) It looks beautiful.
I've encountered a refresh/notification issue:
- the refresh & notification doesn't seem to work (see my sig for device/rom info), yesterday I enabled the 5 minute refresh interval, but the notification of a goal didn't come through. My device was sleeping (screen off). After the match, I refreshed manually, and I got the goal notification in the notification bar.

Have you updated to the latest version? The latest one handles notification better.
We admit that there are still some problems with the notification, it may not reflect the latest status of the match. We are still working on it to improve.

Re: [APP] Livescore app for Soccer/Football
testing 1.9.4..
league filter is bugged, it doesn't store selection correctly, somehow the US league is always enabled (the filter shows it checked after entering filter list, even if unselected before)

Ok, Android Town is now an obsolete name and application on the market. It was renamed to Peeples. Peeples is a seperate app on the market so you would need to download that one. It uses the same DB as Android Town so all your information is saved.
Peeples is a social community application which is location based. It enables users to see other users of the application on the map and strike up a conversation with them. Privacy options are also available.
So far the application has over 11k users.
Peeples has the added options of:
- uploading profile pictures and avatar through the application
- sending files from SD card with messages as attachments (5Mb limit for now)
Try it out and let me know what you think.

Running it on a G1 running CM 4.2.15.1.
Noticed a few things.
1) Registration via App Only (not a big deal, just no indication on the site as such)
2) Registration within the app resulted in "passwords do not match" ANY time I left a password field even when they did match
3) Map reacts slowly when being moved or zoomed in/out
As there's no one yet in my area run ning this, I haven't tested many of the other features. I'll report as I experience more.
Thanks for giving it a try. Hopefully some more US citizens register so you'll be able to interact with them. 5000 kms (around 3100 miles) is the biggest radius so far. Most of the users are in Europe at the moment.
Thanks for the heads up on the registration part. I will definitely try to improve it.
I was also thinking about adding content from social networks if users have any (FB, Twitter, FLickr...). What do you think about that?
And thanks again for testing
Have yet to install the newer release for testing, but looking forward to it.
The concept of linking other social media is a fine idea, provided that there are switches set in place to allow for selected/unselected status. I know plenty of users who would want to publish information for their Facebook, but may want to avoid doing so on other networks.
Either way, yeah, further integration with social media is a fine idea.
ill install and test tmmrw probably
seems pretty cool ill make sure to throw it on my EVO as soon as it freakin comes out
Added to my G1. Will let you know what happens.
Cheers. I sent you a msg in the app as well. Can you test how the send message screen looks on lower resolution please?
Testing it out now , but not many *users* in norway.
I'm the only one
Application is still in its's early days. If you choose a larger radius you will see more users (around 45 accross the world right now)
Application has just been published to the market as well, under the Social category of applications.
How about making a public chat channel that every one is in , when we connect . And late maybe switch it so it will be local / country only.
All depending on how many users this app gets
That's actually a very good idea. I'll be sure to do that as soon as possible...shouldn't be that hard (at least for a single one for starters)
Good nice app!
Already tweeted this. I'll Buzz it as well.
Private Messages look fine on the G1. No issue there.
I'll be comparing my experience to my friend's on the Nexus. Hopefully provide you some better feedback concerning how this works with the G1's older hardware.
Edit: First things we noticed, "Passwords do not match!" error is still present when registering via the app, even if the passwords do match. This issue has been replicated on the G1 and the Nexus 1.
Other noted issues:
Attempt to "Add as friend" on the G1 results in a toast of "Error". No other information contained in error.
Sending a picture on the G1 took about 1 min 45 seconds from time of shot to "Picture sent!" toast showed up.
I'll see what I can do to provide better information (such as screenshots, etc)
Let me know what else you could use.
Just a thought, an option to register via the desktop(internet) as well.
i couldn't figure out how to register until I found it as an option in settings when the app was open.
Doh.
It's lonely in the south of england......
Working on the mentioned bugs as we speak. Will probably release an upgrade today that might fix a few things.
@squirreleater: the internet register option is definitely needed. I agree.
anyone from germany?
feature request: please include option to add user with the username directly so that people from here can invite eachother other than searching on the map
install
Wont install on my Hero ??
Hi everyone, this is a bit of a crazy idea we hacked together over the past few days. It automatically puts you in a chat room for every app you have installed on your phone so you can talk in real time with everyone else who has the same app. We're releasing it as a an early alpha to get feedback, i.e. is this totally dumb or kind of fun? :good::cyclops:
UPDATE 5: We're now in *BETA* as of version 1.3. Just added user profiles, wallpapers, auto translation of messages to your language, and a lot more. Hope you like it!
UPDATE: Also in the play store now: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.larvalabs.myapps
UPDATE2: Just uploaded a new build to the play store with the following new stuff:
* Clickable links in messages
* Like button with like count!
* Fixed a bunch of screenshot sharing bugs
* More messages visible per chat
* Spam filtering and banning based on flagging messages
* Crash fixes
UPDATE3: Another quick update just posted to the store: v1.02. It lets you delete your own messages, a big user request after a few mistaken screenshot posts. We're also working on a lot of behind the scenes Troll Control(tm) and other improvements to the app.
UPDATE4: Just posted v1.2 which includes device chats (I'm in "Nexus 6 chat" for example) and "watching" rooms to let you be notified of every new message in a room.
Still working on stuff, but thought we should get that out there immediately. Hopefully even if you installed the APK directly you'll get the update.

Here’s some more features:
We automatically detect which app a screenshot is for and offer to upload it to that chat.
Swipe in from the bottom right of your screen when in any app and you can jump straight to the chat for that app.
All the usual chat stuff: you can like messages, mention users, etc.
Hope you like it, let me know if you have suggestions or feature requests!
Great APP!
Good for now :good:
Will report if something.
haha nice
Great idea I like your app
Thanks for the positive feedback so far everyone, it's been fun hanging out in calculator chat, haha.
I've seen a couple bugs that we're working on, but nothing too bad. Probably see how it goes tomorrow and do an update if needed. Thanks again.
Omg...who came up with this great idea...this needs to be featured on xda...hope it doesn't die
Awesome, glad you're liking it! It's definitely an experiment right now, but obviously the more people who use it the better it gets. I could see it being used for asking for help with an app or game (how do I get past this level?), trading high scores, talking about new versions of an app, etc.
The apk link has the wrong mime-type set server side. At least in Firefox this causes it to open as a text document.
Great idea and I definitely will give this a try.
This is genius.
You should add a search function, to quickly find apps you want to chat about. Also maybe a sort option, like sorting by most recent messages.
screenshot
Hi, loved the app, but the screenshot thing isn't working.
Also, the idea of a search bar is really good.
It would be perfect if the chat window would actually open in the bottom right on top of the app. I'd be more tempted to actually use it that way, especially on tablets where we can continue using an app while the chat is open.
Perhaps something like Facebook's chat heads would work here really well.
Nice idea
Suggestion
This is absolutely a great idea!!!! :good: :good: :good:
Suggestions:
You can clean from spaces the user id.
Or use some credentials like google and twitter
Ability to sort apps by name
Ability to hide apps (some of them don't make me proud u.u)
Eventually one problem will be about moderation issues. xda it's a great community but winter is coming.
Etc etc etc, but dude, this is awesome!!!! Love it
Great idea indeed! Now users who are using the same application can get quick info and discuss the application with one another.
Very cool! I hope this catches on. Would be very useful to ask questions and such about an app or just have random fun talking about it
it looks pretty awesome. wish i had an android phone at the moment to test it out!
I really like this idea, hope this catches on too!
How are you storing/organising the data in your backend?
This is amazing. And so original that it delights my bones.
A word of caution : provisions for spam blockage and overcrowding of a single room are in order.
Good luck, amazing stuff.
Sent from my trusty GT-I8262
this sound amazing
any chance for an ios version?
add a device chatroom and we could get rid of XDA altogether!
Hello, well maybe not Android Auto killer but I'm developing an app similar to AA, the idea is to have something similar for the people without AA or want to use it in the Bikes/Motorcycle /auto.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zenthek.autozen&hl=en&gl=US
I'm using navigation powered by mapbox, but you can also open your own app to start the navigation.
Features
In App turn by turn navigation
Built in phone calls (receive/place calls without leaving the app) [Beta]
Recent calls/contacts/ and dialer with one click
Control your favorite music player like Spotify, Youtube music, Deezer , etc.
Receive and reply messages from Whatsapp, Telegram, FB messenger and SMS.
Built in Voice commands (not perfect like Google assistant ) but you can navigate to some places, serach for a contact, weather , control music and is 100% offline
Speed cameras (static only) with a sound for as a warning alert and a visual alert in the map when is close.
Incidents like constructions and blocked roads
Search for places/contacts and navigate with one click.
App launcher, add/edit your favorites apps and with one click launch them
Set as launcher, press home button to return to the app (new gesture navigation is not supported thom but there is a "bubble" feature to return to the app)
Speed limits
Calendar integration
Many fetures are 100% offline and I'm trying to keep privacy and not share any information , that's why no ads and not even log in (for now, maybe in the future for backups)
I'm still developing this app to make it better and better, if you find a bug please send an email to [email protected], the pricing might be a problem unfortunately mapbox pricing is quite expensive minus 30% google minus taxes, minus search services/weather and so on
I'm trying to figure out the best way , you can alternative use the "premium" without navigation.
if you like my app then don't forget to rate 5 star ★★★★★ or helpful review, that would be awesome!!!
Ideas futrue:
Include AR navigation (but seems this would be expensive not sure if people would pay one time around 3-4 euros)
HUD but since the app suppose to be used for the user not sure if a HUD mode would be good or just a "screen"
Crash detector (send an SMS if there is a crash), not sure if google will allow SMS premium permissions tho.
Crowd sourcing speed cameras/reports
improve HeadUnit (for large screen create 2 panes)
OBD2 support
Virtual cockpit option
Dashcam support
Thanks a lot!11
