Others have said it works fine. I just tested it myself, and it does. Just make sure you're putting it in the right way, the logo on the cable needs to go away from the front of the device. Pretty tight squeeze, but works fine. Even charges on a regular 1a usb charger. Now, I did have it off while I did it. Check other posts for other's input on this.

check this thread for your problem.

That is cool as ****.
You could always get a micro to mini adapter (if that's what the i9003 uses, not clue, lol)

If another converter is used then it won't be the visible green charger. The whole purpose of having a visible charger is defeated. So I had asked whether we can get a similar one for our SGL also.

[Q] Is it mandatory to connect the charger with the HDTV Adapter ?

Hi Guys,
I've got my HDTV Adapter for a stock Galaxy Note 10.1, I'm a bit disappointed because it looks like it's mandatory to connect the charger (the cable already has got an extra slot for connecting the charger) in order to make the note send what it is displayed on its screen to the cable so I can see it on the computer screen for example.
Does anybody have an idea if this is true or not ? I'd love the idea if it is an option but not an obligation !!!!

My experience is yes, power is required. But this can be as easy as plugging in the usb to the tv or monitor if it has a usb port, you dont HAVE to use the charger
Which adaptor did you use?

Well, let me tell you why I'm a bit disappointed, I used to have an iPad which used in a lot of meetings moving here in and there with my pad and cable, now I've to have a power source around or even a computer, with a at least two cables with/without a charger, I'm not bothered with that at home but while one business this note didnn't prove to be a stand-alone, I'm not sure if an app that may simulate charging can deceicve tthe note on that aspect or not but so far, this can be considered a draw-back

[Q] Problems with charging and PC connection, cable or device issue?

Hi everyone, I've just bought a Note 10.1 refurbished but I'm having issues with the charger. When plugged it, it doesn't charge at all and if I use it, it would actually discharge although it says its charging. Sometimes the red x appears on the battery but after unplugging and blowing the port and connector a few times, it would then charge. However if I unplug it, it wouldn't charge again unless I blow it and reconnect it 2-3 times. The power brick is fine because I can plug my Galaxy Grand in to it and it charges every time. When it does charge, it charges fairly quickly. About 10% every 25-30 minutes.
Also when I connected it to my PC, it didn't even recognize the device at all. The tablet lights up and shows a red x on the battery again. I've got around syncing by using Wifi file transfer for now, do you think its a cable problem or a device problem? I've ordered an adapter than converts the 30 pin to micro USB so I can use my galaxy grands cable and hopefully it'll come soon as I want to test it before the 7 days return window is over.
I've read online that the stock cable is really bad and a 3rd party cable charges much faster, is this true?
Thanks,
Anthony
The red X over the battery indicates that the carging is lower than 2000 mA, and if the cable is damaged in some way the charge rate can be unstable. Otherwise, the port on the device might be dirty or damaged. Try cleaning it with a plastic/wooden toothpick and/or compressed air. You can also try to clean the cable tip.
A pc usb-port will never reach 2000 mA, so a red X over the battery will always be present. Also, for the PC to recognize the 10.1 you need to have Samsung Kies installed.
Hope this helps!

Oh I see, so that's why it has a red X. I do have Kies Installed since I have a Galaxy Grand and sadly there is no response when I plug it into my PC. Do you think its more likely that the cable is damaged or the device port is? I might be able to lend my friends Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 cable to test tomorrow though.
Thank you! :good:

Only way to know for sure is if there is visible damage, or to try another cable. Good luck, let me know how everything turns out!

I went and bought a new cable today and tada! Its all working now! I'm soo glad I don't have to send it back as I love this tablet. The connector is a bit stiffer to get in that the stock one, I'm guessing its because its a 3rd party cable but it works well so I'm happy.
And to Kayteck, maybe try a different cable if you can like I did. It could be that your cable is buggered.
Thanks for your help,
Anthony.

Best micro-usb cable

Hi,
I've got quite weird problem. Most micro-usb cables doesn't fit nicely with my phone. I've to push it and it feels like I could break something. Is there company that makes good quality cables like Samsung's original ones?
Pretty easy to get oem cables on ebay.
Ok, but is there any particular company, except oem, that you would recommend?
OEM Micro USB Cable
I have searched everywhere, there is no OEM Micro USB Cable available for Galaxy S4.
On ebay , when you select OEM warranty , no results shows up for Micro USB cable.
Can anyone help me find a replacement, the charger is working fine but I'm unable to find the best cable?
Please advice.
Thanks,
Sid
I've bought an Aukey cable and it works really fine.
Try blueridge. They make some of the best cables. I have one and it even supports fast charging ( qualcomm quick charge )

double yes on the blueridge, been using them a while now and no issues
So Blueridge, Thanks.
try look for Remax micro usb cable which is very durable and good quality. But beware of counterfeit one as there's a lot in the market right now.
I've just got myself an LG cable from ... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/331618247629 ... The OEM Samsung cable was over 2 years old and was the reason my phone was charging slowly (car charger was fine and swapped an HTC cable onto the Samsung charger and that was fine so definitely the cable ...) - at 300/400mA. With this cable it will charge at the full 1900mA, it seems to fit better (more securely) into the USB port on the phone and it's also slightly longer which is, for me, an advantage.
HTH.

What phone do you use? I threw my stock usb cable (S4) away after it started "connecting/disconnecting" on its own when connected to my PC!
I'm now using my old Blackberry 9380 USB cable which is short and thick AND has NEVER done the same as experienced with stock Samsung cable. I charge with it and flash new ROMS, no problem! :good:
This one time my old stock usb cable disconnected WHILE I'm flashing my S4 with new rom - almost bricked it!
thank you

Hello,.
I can only recommend you one cable, the Anker nylon braided micro usb one, it is the best usb cable I've ever owned.
You do even get a 18 month warranty, you won't be disappointed.

As for your problem, it happened too with my new cables. It's pretty normal I think, it's usually over after 2-4 weeks.
I also used a lot of different cables (from my mice, music players, other phones) and those worked w/o any problems as well. Fit like a glove that fits nicely.
Mine is from iOrange-E. It is 6.6ft long and reversible also. Works fine for me.
I love my 6 foot Monoprice cable... Amazing and only 3 bucks with the gold plating(for looks, of course).
These that came with this extra charger are the best I've tried so far.

Wireless Charging receiver on OnePlus 6

Hello everyone! Sorry for the dumb question, but I was wondering if it is possible to add a wireless charging receiver inside a OnePlus 6. There are some receivers on Amazon for Galaxy S3, S4 and S5, and I thought that it would have been cool to have one, just to play with the hardware.
I'm not talking about the receivers which have the cable with the Type C USB port, but the receivers that connect directly to the battery. Something we can build ourselves.
Could it be possible? What do you think?
I'd nearly say hold on for the 6t and save yourself the hassle. ?

Unluckly I have already bought the 6, and this is my first OP phone and i think it is just awesome.
Anyway I only wanted to do something cool and play with the hardware of my phone.
Yes, I use one. Works just fine. The only annoying part is having to unplug it when I need to connect to my PC. I wish they made one that plugs into the usb-c port but still allowed a USB-c to plug into the receiver. It would probably make the receiver plug too big.
Here is the one I use:

If you're talking about some kind of hardware hack, I can't imagine that there's room inside the case given how thin this phone is. Years ago, I tried doing something like that with my HTC One XL, which had a flexible plastic case and more room inside. I still couldn't make it work.
Wireless charging is awesome but i only like it because my phone has a micro usb.... now that i have ordered a oneplus with usb c i dont think i will miss it because wireless charging is slower and heats up the phone more.
You have two options, buy external wireless charging receiver that plugs into USB or do a hardware hack and put wireless receiver inside the phone. It's certainly possible as back cover is glass, but it's not trivial.
