Is anyone looking at the work Linaro has done to see if it can be used to improve the performance of our Transformer builds?

I know that people from CyanogenMod have implemented it in some builds, I think to galaxy nexus. Anyway, don´t know if they are going to use it in every cm9 build.

I haven't tried it on my gnex, but its not building "perfectly" right now. The early work they have on the gnex hasn't ironed everything out, certain things aren't building right because linaro builds using some different things. I know the gps issues still haven't been ironed out. But a lot the code is submitted to cm, it's there and its being reviewed. I'm sure it'll eventually get down to us!
Aokp has a linaro build out for galaxy Nexus.

I'm excited about it. I'm flashing a liquid tester for my gnex right now. I guess it really improved the thunderbolt rom

I have heard mixed things about everything working (gps not locking well iirc?) and I think they're using gcc 4.6 for now. It sounds like a part of the code is in merged but I dunno if its too early to expect much improvement just yet. I'm eager to see this though, gnex is already quick and smooth as it is.
EDIT: nm, sounds like they've got GPS working. They're moving quick!
AOKP will have it soon. Just don't expect 100% improvements, that's only for some synthetic benchmarks.
Liquid Smooth ROM 1.5RC has -03 optimized Linaro components. It is blazing fast and everything works well, including GPS/Navigation.

Gummy rom have a build with Linaro, I am testing it right now. It seems fast but not something awesome. I scored in quadrant much less than in Megatron so I think I am gonna revert to Megatron.

If talking about liquid, I'm pretty sure we'll have to wait till final. Who knows tho they could open them up on irc whenever. Final will probably be soon tho.

Just curious why we got so close CM7 with kernel and all and cyanogenmod won't accept it as an official build. I know they look for a solid base but it seemed pretty solid or close enough for me. Anyone have some inside knowledge?

Because Cyanogenmod him self and the team is working on cm9 they have left cm7 for now and won't work on it.

Could we at least get a 3g only port, from maybe the inc2 since they are somewhat similar as far as processors, etc? I'd hit thanks all day and maybe dig in my bank account for a donation.

The Liquid Dev I spoke to said the Liquid Team is working on the radio issues.
I'm a big fan of Liquid ROMs, so hopefully they overcome the issue quickly,
but good work takes time and Liquid Smooth 3.2 has been an awesome ROM
to run while I/We wait..
+1 on liquid 3.2

Ill take anything with data about now but Liquid and Twisted are my Rom's of choice when they come out.
twisted is my choice, he keeps it updated about everyday.
The good news is that it seems there is a rom with working data coming soon.
The 'bad' news is that it seems to be liquids rom.
Hopefully twisted can borrow it since his version works best for my phone.
if they sort the data out does that mean we hopefully will get ICS , miuiV4 and oakp(kang one protekk built) working possibly?
I hope twisted gdts it. I personally cant afford to buy(donate) just for the opprotunity to use a rom. With the wife out of work, supporting 2 kids, and the economy, every penny i already earn is accounted for. Things are very hard for us right now.

agreed. everybody has an opinion. If a dev cant take a shot, then they dont need to be deving. I personally have been back on the OG Rom rooted and deodexed for a few months now. I just got tired of ROMs with stuff not working.
Props to all the devs for what they do, but partially working ROMs just dont cut it for me. So I have been back on the OG rom for a few months now and very glad I did.

Good news for me about the liquid rom, I have been using v3.2 for a few weeks now with no problems, and am excited for an ICS version . . .

I used OMFGB for a long time. Recently though, I've changed to Thundershed and couldn't be happier. A lot of the same stuff, but with some newer enhancements and updates (OMFGB, for example, doesn't even have the locations fix built in as it hasn't been updated in...well, this year, maybe).

I'm running it, it's fast. However it's important to note there isn't that much Linaro code built into R4INS build. As I understand it, it's a very small percentage of the framework because we still don't have source.
I read something recently about our phones only running on 1 processor most of the time. I wonder if linaro just makes it so both processors run? Anyone know if there is any truth to any of this?
Wow.. I saw articles about this before but never a video and it just takes it to a new level.. That is impressive!!

correct, its not full linaro, but it runs smooth, cant say it feels faster than cm9 or regular aokp though. Then again i use my phone as a phone, games are usually the kick in the guts when it comes to performance.
All this talk about linaro, well, only ROMs that have it is Dark Unicorn and aospX by synthetic.nightmare. but does it really make a difference? is performance and battery life improved? if so, by how much?
some resources: http://androidistica.blogspot.com/2012/06/linaro-overhyped-for-custom-roms.html; http://rootzwiki.com/topic/27909-linaro-battery-life/page__st__10#entry745109

Yes, this statement is more accurate. On our device, I'd have to agree with what reality said and although it may not show up on benchmarks, that smooth, snappy feeling is what makes me stick to aospX and what made me decide to bring it to our device.
To add on to this... the way I see it is if someone scores higher than me on a benchmark and their scrolling isn't as smooth as mine, I'm gonna be the one laughing. I don't see why there's such an obsession with benchmarking anyway.

The Affinity guys are legit. I have a vzw gnex and am actually about to install their build on it, which reviews are calling one of the stablest and fastest roms on the gnex right now.....even in first build form. I hear they are really professionals at what they do. I would bite first
