Phone having Issues ? - Samsung Infuse 4G

So last week I started to notice that my phone would not charge or connect to pc unless I rebooted. So I figured there something wrong with the the Rom, so I went and went back to stock with one click. I then installed DD with red recovery and AEON.. I still have the same problems not only that now my phone will not power up from when its shut off. It just shows an empty battery icon, but if I plug in the charger it will then show a full battery and turn on. When its on the battery shows that its 70%. If i unplug usb and plug back it will not continue to charge and will not connect either. I went out and bought a new battery and charger. Nothing changed. Any ideas or input would be appreciated??
thanks

Bad usb port on the phone?
Sent from my SGH-I997 using xda premium

i'm a noob at this but bro it sounds like it may be ur usb connector.... maybe it got a little disconnect from the motherboard? maybe u have to solder it?? i hope u get it fixed bro

I don't think it's the port . Because it will charge and connect to PC when rebooted with USB plugged in.. It's just that when I plug the USB with phone on it does nothing.. And it will not power on unless USB is plugged in.. Other than that it's fine using it right now to type this.. Maybe it's hardware related.. I guess I should start looking for my next victim

maybe try formatting usb storage?? goodluck. back up everything

Recharging Blackjack via USB -- battery drained

So I am stupid, i think, no..I know!
I am out of town this whole week and didn't take my phone charger with me. I have a Samsung Blackjack, and fortunately or not, I brought the USB cable with me. I thought I could charge my phone using the USB cable and transfer songs all at once! It was a sweet idea gone bad because I didn't charge my phone last night, and it ran out of juice completely today!
So I connect the USB cable to the phone...and nothing. The phone won't turn on and the USB won't detect that something was connected.
So is there a way for this idiot (me) to recharge my phone somehow using the USB cable and my computer? Can I change some setting that sends the power to the usb port? *sigh*
I don't get back until saturday morning, so I would appreciate if someone could help me here.

Touch pro wont charge via usb connection??

Hi, You don't have the box ticked in the battery screen do you ?
the one that says
When device is turned on, do not charge the battery when connected to the PC
this should be unticked.
dean
Hi Dean
Now I dont have it ticked !!
Any other idea's?
The problem could also be your usb line or usb port. try some alternatives first.
Tried everything, different usb leads, different sockets even different laptops !!
Help
Same problem here. But i changed the USB cable and problem solved. Did u tried it, with the official USB cable from HTC? (I guess so, just to check)
Yep I did !!
Will try again when I get home though..
Thats strange... my TP came with UK power adapter, so I couldnt use AC power until I get an adapter (4 days)... in these days I always charged via USB (all night long)
Well I tried the official usb lead and it charged last night, Im now using the official lead again using same laptop and same usb port and guess what !!! It wont charge again
Have I a faulty touch pro?
shall i phone vodaphone and ask for a replacement

Hi,
this is sounding kinda weird..
What kind of wall charger came with the phone, mine is a wall adapter that i plug the USB lead into to charge the phone
So i know my USB lead works as this charges the phone with both the adapter and via USB on any PC ( i have tried home and work PC's)
Sounds like it could be a handset issue then ???
mine is a Vodafone handset that i bought unlocked and flashed with a different ROM and its working fine..

Laptops can be a bit funny about USB charging, I remember one laptop I had wouldn't charge my phone (SE K800i at the time), unless it was on mains power. The laptop had to be powered up while on the mains, with no USB devices plugged in, then it would supply power to the ports.
My work laptop is also a bit funny about it, I had to disable powering down of the USB ports otherwise it won't power them back up, but since if nothing is connected there's not much of a problem. There is also the possibility it's powering the port, which will charge the phone, but not enough power to actually make it worthwhile, you can check to see how much power is going to the ports by looking under device manager. So you might want to check it's not a problem with your laptop.

This is exactly what mine turned out to be. At work I've got a Dell Optiplex 745 tower and none of the USB ports put out enough power to charge my phone and have the phone on. I've got wifi turned off but the data, EDGE, is always on. If the display is on and I'm in Storage mode there's very little charging going on. It doesn't drain quickly but it definitely isn't going up. If I'm in sync mode it drains pretty quickly and it seems as tho it's not even charging at all.
What I do now is plug it in at work and turn off the display. Kinda sucks but I need my phone fully charged at all times.
I have the same problem....
the usb and the factory usb are different if u have looked carefully
firstable, the shape of the heads are different. secondly, there are 4 pins inside usb and 6 pins inside the factory usb...I guess that's the problem.
Try messing with the USB to PC settings. I know my TP was acting funny and not charging, and after i disabled network functionality, i think it started charging. GL.
Thamks for all the replys, if done everytjhing sometimes it will charge sometimes it wont, I have it connected to my laptop all day for internet sharing, it has charged up very slowly twive, and not at all 8 or 9 times, same usb slot , laptop plugged into mains, official usb lead used ( it never charges from another usb lead )
This is the 3rd htc Ive owned and the first to play up like this over usb !!

Have you tried it plugged into a desktop computer? It would rule out the laptop being the problem if it didn't work. You could also use a mini-usb cable, which could also prove if the official cable is a problem.
Having similar problem...
I'm having a similar problem. My laptop used to charge Touch Pro when i connect it. Now for reason i noticed that it doesn't anymore.
I could be wrong, but I thought I read in the manual that when the phone is synched to a PC, it only charges in trickle mode, so it doesn't recharge the battery efficiently. Is this the problem?
same problem here. Mine was working fine with ANY charger whether it be USB, car charger or wall charger. But now it will only charge with the htc plug but not the HTC wall charger. The plug is the one with the ports for tv-out, headphones.
I'm going to go try and do a hard reset.I dont understand what could cause this.

My Infuse not going into download mode and not charging also

My Infuse not going into download mode and not charging also. I tried to shut down the completely and plugged in the charger then the phone would Power ON. If i try to plug in my data cable to the computer its not recognized by the computer. I have Kies installed and my comp recognizes my captivate and Galaxy s II. I am sure its some software problem. Unfortunately i can't connect to odin now to reinstall new software. Help me with some suggestions guys. Thanks.
power off phone
pull battery
wait 1-5 minutes
put battery back in phone
plug usb cable into phone and computer
press volume up and down and hold
press power button, hold for a few seconds
that always seems to work for me.

i have same problem
get the jig from ebay and jig will get you to download mode
I had a similar problem with my wife's and my Infuse not charging. After doing some Googling, I found that some Infuses have had a problem with either the charger, cable,or charging port going bad. I plugged my wife's phone in all night, next morning it had not charged, but mine charged just fine. The following night, switched chargers and got the same results but in reverse obviously. Our problem seems to be the charger or cable. I have to play with them a bit and figure out which one it is. And yes, its the original charger that came with the phone. It seems to make an intermittent connection but not enough to charge consistently. Just trying to give my experience with this issue also. Hope it helped...
In order to get into download mode, I have to simultaneously plug the cord in to the phone and hold the up volume key while it is plugged in to the computer. Hopefully then the drivers can install and you can get back to stock using odin

[HELP] Did i just brick my phone?

Okay so im talking on the phone with my phone on a usb charger (plugged up to a xbox) and my phone suddenly dies. My theory was that the usb charger wasnt able to acctually charge the phone while i was using it (output>input). So i went ahead and plugged it up to an A/C charger expecting to see the MOTO emblem you get whenever you first plug it up from dying and i didnt get it. Instead my LED turned white. I have tried taking out the sd card and sim card. The only time i can acctually get the screen to come on is when i plug the phone up when the battery is not in it. It goes to the battery screen but instead of showing me a percentage it just shows a "?" inside the battery. I cannot get into FASTBOOT MODE, I cannot get any reponse out of the phone at all... Is my phone a $400 paperweight or is there still a beacon of hope?
You messed up by plugging it into your xbox. You more than likely messed up the battery. Take it into your local store that sells the a2 and see if they will let you try out their battery.

my friend has a Atrix 2 and ill be seeing him today so ill try his battery. thanks man.
If anyone has been having this problem i found a possible solution that worked for me. MY AC ADAPTER WAS THE ISSUE. IF YOUR NOT USING AN AC ADAPTER NOT MEANT FOR A "SMARTPHONE", THEN YOUR PROBABLY GOING TO HAVE THIS PROBLEM. (by ac adapter i mean the part you plug into the wall that you connect the usb to.)
so your phone got fixed by getting a proper adaptor?

A couple basic things to try and consider to get you started:
Bad battery-try a stand alone charger to see if it will charge. If you know how to use one you can even try a multimeter to check voltage and see if battery is holding a charge
Bad usb cable/port -try a different cable...try several different cables and/or ports on your computer. Try blowing out the dust or debris that may have settled on your usb contacts.

I've had one thing happen in the past that I thought was a charging issue, which turned out not to be. When I went all the way back to stock Froyo, I spent days wondering why the hell it'd only charge when plugged into my PC. Turned out that for some reason, on Froyo, it'd only recognize the official Samsung cable, which happened to be the one I used to sync to my computer. On GB and anything after that, it recognized any cable I used.

sorry for my bad english..
I had that issue. I sent phone back to warrenty. Apparently the repair sheet where what they said they fixed was software related in the phone its self
