Complete Guide to Customize Micromax Andro A60 (Rooting,Custom Recovery,Upgraded Rom)

Before you start let me make it clear that, I don't own this device or don't have any connection with it. I put this thread only because my friend from Chandigarh, India requested me to do a guide on customizing this device. So, I collected information from members related to this device & from other forums.
The Roms listed here are not my works, so it may or may not work with your device. I tried my level best to make it as simple as it can.
ROOTING
First of all, you need to Root your device.
Use Universal Androot, you can download the software here
Use Root Explorer or any file management softwares to install.
Now download the Rom Manager and install it.
RECOVERY MENU
Next you need to Install the stock Recovery Menu.
The complete procedure as well as the required files can be downloaded here.
Just downloaded & extract the file and follow the steps.
CUSTOMIZED RECOVERY
This Recovery Menu can only install update.zip files.
So, it need to be modified to install any custom rom.
You can download the custom Recovery here
Extract the file, Use Android Download Tool provided in the package to install.

[Q] Multiboot 0.5.5 Defy

Hi, I tried to follow the instructions od multiboot installation of the post titled '[DEV][2012/04/13] Multiboot v0.5.5' , but unfortunately after step 7, I don't see any menu and start the CM7 logo on loop.
I've created 2 folder named CM9 and MIUI with the 3 img files. They was been created with MultiBootManagerFree.
I've actually installed CM7.2 nightly 2012.04.20....
I don't understand what could be my error. Any council??
Regards to everyone who wanna help me!!
Marco
P.S. Here down the followed instruction:
1. Open Stable recovery flash CM7/CM9 (preferably froyo kernel).
2. Now boot into CM7/CM9 verify your primary system is running fine .
3. Find the fsimages attached in first post . Extract it under
/sdcard/multiboot/<your virtual system name> (eg. /sdcard/multiboot/CM7.2)
4. Boot into recovery again (Either of Latest / Stable).
5. Flash bootmenu v0.5.1 and reboot
6. When blue LED flashes press down volume rocker .
7. In boot menu select 2nd boot .
8. When you select 2nd boot , your menu should appear something like this
CM7.2
MIUI
Codename
Boot from Nand (Real system)
Recovery (CWM)
Reboot
9. Now select CWM .It would now show all virtual images But not the Recovery (CWM) string anymore. Smething like this
CM7.2
MIUI
Codename
But now you wont see any nand boot (Real system) or reboot string anymore.
10.Select anyone of those. But before that be sure you have copied all of the fsimages under /sdcard/multiboot/<your virtual system> ( as mentioned in step 3).You would get a long pause . As if phone has stopped responding . But actually your phone is jus fine .Its just creating the file system images. Dont PANIC!!
11. Now after long pause when the image files have been created . you would see your lovely recovery . Now this is the recovery you have been love in with .
12. Flash your virtual system zip selecting zip from sdcard (MIUI , Codename , CM7 whatever).
13.After flashing has been completed reboot and go to bootmenu .
14. Go to 2nd boot You would see now CM7.2 in menu.Select it and you would be inside CM7.2 !!!!!!!!
Note : Before trying all this make sure you have put the default boot as 2nd-System ( If you are using Multiboot version greater than 0.5.2 alongwith bootmenu 1.1.8) . If not then default boot should be 2nd-Boot.
No one who can help me!?!

Revert Back To Miui V5 from Miui V6 in Redmi 1S

Hey Guyz,
I found a new way to revert back to MIUI V5 from MIUI V6.
As me many of us hav very slow internet connection due to which we are not able to download via TWRP recovery Manager. To avoid downloading i found new way
## First, you have to root your phone.
Steps:
Download the file Root_HM1S_MIUI6_Global.zip and put it in root of sdcard (Use internal)
Launch the Updater app
From the menu select 'Choose update package', and navigate to root of sdcard and select Root_HM1S_MIUI6_Global.zip
The updater app now reboots into the recovery, installs the update and then reboot
After the reboot has finished, You will able to see a new app namely SuperSU.
Open it one popup will aris and choose 'Continue' to update the SU binary
7. In the next dialog select 'Normal' and an updated su binary will get installed
8. Finally confirm to 'Reboot' after the successful installation
## Now Download Flashify App
## After that download TWRP or Philz Recovery and extract it
##There u will find the recovery.img file navigate it to root of sdcard
##Now Open Flashify App
##Select Recovery image
##There Select choose a file
##And navigate to the Image and select it..
##Wait for few seconds popup will appear Flash complete and there select reboot now
##Now you will reboot to recovery
For TWRP Recovery:
#Now open recovery and go to wipe. And go to advance menu and wipe you all data internal storage an everything except external storage.
#After successfully wipe your phone. Go to reboot menu and reboot to recovery. It will back you again to TWRP recovery.
#Now select install. And it will show your phone storage but you can go up lavel A and choose external_SD and select your download v5 ROM.
#After select the ROM flash it....
#And it will successfully flash(it may take some time) and now touch reboot option below.
#Successfully Reverted back to MIUI V5
For Philz Touch Recovery
#Navigate to Wipe and Format Option
#Select Wipe Cache , Dalvik Cache, And then Select Factory Reset
#After that Select "Clean to Install a New ROM"
#Now Select ++++Go Back++++
#Select Install Zip
#Choose zip from external sdcard and Select the ROM
#Wait for few minutes and then reboot
#Successfully reverted back to MIUI V5..

Roms for GT-I8160P version guide

Hi people, here is a short instruction if you have a P or L version of the I8160 and want to update this (great) old phone. credits to xdas-e
for a while i thought that roms didnt work on the P version, because when installing roms i got the error that the rom was only for I8160, not I8160P. so yeah it is possible, maybe this is common knowledge, but i couldnt find out how before i found this information.
I have not tested this exhaustively but i believe they all should work, because i believe the only difference from the P version is that it has an NFC module.
]------- modify the rom for P version:
1.- Get the custom ROM.
2.- Get the /system/lib/tee folder contents from your GT-I8160P JB installation (from stock rom). You may need root access, although in my case I could simply move trough the hidden directories and copy the folder to my sd card.
3.- Swap the /system/lib/tee folder, and put what you got from step 2, into the zip file of step 1, same place, same everything. You may very well dispose the original /system/lib/tee folder in the zip file.
4.- Change /system/build.prop and introduce a P in every GT-I8160 entry (from GT-I8160 to GT-I8160P).
5.- (tricky one) look for the updater script file within the custom ROM zip file, and delete (or add a P) the first complete entry of the assert command (you shall see some GT-I8160 there). in my case it was located under META-INF\com\google\android\.
------- from here you have successfully modified the rom for the P version, these steps just show the installation:
6.- If you dont already have CWM, get yourself one (I used this one [JB] CWM Recovery 6).
7.- Put both zip files into your sd card; get a copy also of gapps (google apps, play store etc) for the android version of the rom.
8.- Back up all your data.
9.- Swicht off your phone and restart in recovery mode (up volume, home and power buttons pressed simultaneously).
10.- Load from the external sd card the CWM zip file.
11.- Make a full ROM backup to restore if things go wrong. Wipe data/factory reset; wipe cache partition; wipe dalvik cache (under advance options), format /system if needed (see rom instructions).
12.- Install from external sd card: a) custom CM rom; and b) gapps if you're for it.
13.- Restart.
14.- You shall be done!!! (first boot takes a long time)
good luck! my phone was crap with stock and now it works great, so basically it saved me from buying a new phone.. a big thanks to all the rom developers for this device .
