Sidekick 4g water indicator? - T-Mobile Sidekick 4G

Where can I find this? lol.

I've had the unit all the way apart and I don't remember seeing one. Why?

I always thought it was a sticker or something that turns red or whatever when it touches water.

It is, except I don't think they put one in our phone. Why?

Its right next to the battery prongs.
Sent from my SGH-T839 using XDA

Yup I got 2 indicators, 1 right by the battery prongs also, and one actually on the battery also by the prongs

Oh hey, I didn't even notice that. Huh.

and both of those are red on my phone just my luck

My wife took hers swimming, so she's using mine. :\

Tbolt creak/click

Does anyone elses tbolt click a little when pushing on the sides of the phone, the edge around the screen? Mine clicks and creaks like its sticking to glue or something but not staying stuck... should i exchange it?
Do you have the extended battery?
no phones stock i just got it yesterday, hasnt been droped bumped anything, and it creaks if i press down on the screen when its laying flat on a desk.
Mine does that right around the volume rocker. I'm not worrying about that or the slight light leak from the bottom. It's not rebooting itself, so I'll see how it goes.
Yes, exchange it!! I just went through that with one. Sometimes it wouldn't do it, like when it was hot and when I tried to replicate the issue in the store I couldn't so they wouldn't give me a new one. Finally I put it back in the box for a day and it started popping again. It was like the screen was loose or something.

Seems like the tbolt has major software and few hardware issues. I'm glad I got the Mytouch 4G instead.

How does that help the OP? Or did you just want to do a MyTouch 4G ad? Lol Before you go blowing MyTouch's horn, check this out...http://www.engadget.com/2010/11/05/t-mobile-mytouch-4g-review/.
My Thunderbolt only creaked when I bought the extended case. Exchanged it for another one and it stopped creaking. Three days later it was creaking again. If I put my regular case back on, no creaking! I've learned to put up with it.

Oh, Man - tMobile would be great! I mean, unlimited pretend 4G throttled after 2GB each month? Frickin awesome!
Thanks for the input, im going to head into the verizon store when i have time on monday. I can easily replicate it because it does it i would say 90% of the time, and even if i cant replicate the screen part, the edges all around the screen do it constantly. I got a lemon

Wouldn't hurt to show it to them. My thing is just that there seem to be a lot of phones with rebooting issues that I don't think they are exchanging, asking customers to wait for the update that is supposed to fix it...
Just tried mine again and now it isn't clicking...
Maybe make sure your battery cover is properly on all the way around. HTC really could make better battery covers.

The C sticker in HTC on the back cover fell off!!!

Has this happened to anyone else yet? The damn C fell off! How in the hell?
Yes, I know I can get a replacement back. I'm the one who let people know about that. (something i regret not putting in a PM) It just sucks though. I don't want to have to get a new back until way later in the 1 year life of this phone.
wtf, i just laugh when i read the tittle didnt think it was real i thought those letters was metal engrave
If you didn't lose the C you could just superglue it back on

Yeah unfortunately I just looked & it was gone, otherwise that's what I would've done.
If you lost it, you could do what I did and pull the rest out and get a black fine point sharpie and color it in
I chromed my back, and sanded the letters lol still didn't come off lol

Goo gone and a cotton swab, not sure what it would do to the black finish though
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using XDA Premium App
I'll give it a shot. I don't think the goo gone will do anything to the finish. If I like it, I'll try to take off the other 2 stickers too
That's so strange. Hope this doesn't happen to me.

LOL. One of the funniest thing i've heard for a while.
I had this happen too. Only, I've slowly lost each letter down to where I have lost them all. I'm going to fill it in with some paint I think, then do the chrome mod. When I sand down the back I think the paint should stay in the indented part.
The 'T' fell off in my case :O
Just take a pencil and fill up the indented part. Looks fine.
I lost "h" long time ago, I thing that this is problem with bad glue and high temperature.
The XE must be different? I have the XE and there aren't any letter stickers, the lettering is recessed.
Yeah this won't happen on the XE.
This happened to my Sensation but with the 'T' I actually emailed HTC about this along side sending a photo to them and within three days they had sent me a new unibody May I suggest you do the same.
Wow I heard about debranding..but.....

I am having this issue as well. I am going to call Tmo to exchange it.
I don't think that will fix the problem. Your replacement will most likely get the same results
It wont solve the issue. I went thru 7 G2s all with dust under the screen. Im telling you you will get use to it. HTC qc sucks ass.
Sent from my Senseless Doubleshot using xda premium
I was thinking about doing it until the limited warranty ends
I've heard of people complaining about this "issue" a lot now, but I've never experienced it. I've had an HTC DREAM (ADP1), HTC VISION, and now my GF has an HTC DOUBLESHOT. There has never been an issue with dust under the screen. I would suggest that it may, therefore, be related to EXPOSURE to dust. Possibly related to how you protect the phone. Do you keep your phone in a clean pouch? Or do you drop it in your pocket along with whatever other cruft you may be walking around with? Do you work in a particularly dusty environment?
In any case, the issue would be that the digitizer sits above the LCD. The only place where dust could conceivably get to that would be visible as "under the screen" is between the digitizer and the LCD. You should be able to disassemble the phone and wipe it out (after warranty expires). Until then, use warranty, and then protect the phone from dust.
I've never had issues with dust under my screen, but then again I've always kept my phones in a G1 pouch
http://www.amazon.com/T-Mobile-HTC-Google-Phone-Pocket/dp/B001OOEQJ2
The only time I've had an issue was when I took apart my MyTouch 3G slide and touched underneath the screen and got prints all over it and put it back together without realizing it, so that was entirely my fault..
No dust for me. Have my phone on me 24/7 in an extremely dusty environment. I am a powder coater
I am usually covered head to toe, with powdercoat and metal dust. Kept loose in my pocket and I use it 3-4times an hour to check the time.

Never had any dust in mine either, but I pouch mine like RazoE and take absurdly good care of it. Used to have a G1 that I bought used and it never had any dust either.
The earpiece on this phone is kinda big; perhaps dust is making its way in from there?

Upon further inspection, it seems this might actually be the port of entry; see attached photo.
The glowing blueish area in the red rectangle is the LCD, pretty much open to whatever can make its way in, i.e. dust. There is another opening similar to this further down the track between the screen and keyboard and you can see it pretty well if the screen is lit up.

Can't get Data or Signal

Hey, about a month ago I dropped my G2X and the screen cracked. I got it fixed at some shady place (yeah i know my fault haha) and now I cant get signal or data. The screen and phone are 100% functional its just that I can't get any signal. I'm running stock 2.2.2, any ideas?
I have also tried a new sim card, didnt work :/
Have you had signal or data at all after the repair?

I don't know how the internal of the g2x look like but maybe a flex cable got ripped a little or a wire to the antenna is lose... just a possibility... you'll get that when you take an expensive phone to a shady place

EDIT: Can't seem to figure out how to embed the Youtube video properly:

I opened it and it looked like the antenna cable was frayed? Not sure if it's supposed to be like that, I included a few pics. It was connected though, is there anyway to replace it?
http://imgur.com/T3bR2,y3n0h,w2F1d
Yea that shouldn't be like that... that connector can't be soldered back or just shoved in like that... I got some extra wire connector that look just like that from my old hd2... you tell me if that will work... its about 4in or so long... both end have same connector... if you say yea... I can mail it to you...
I tried to take a picture of it at close up like you to show how it look but its all fuzzy... lol well just let me know if you want to give it a try bro
Here's my email... [email protected]
Sent from my LG-P999 using XDA App
The antenna to the G2x seems about an inch or two longer than the one the HD2 uses, although I might be wrong, because I seem to remember the HD2 cable winding around alot.
Its the white one... the black one is shorter... I was putting my hd2 back together while posting my last message.. I was in the same boat as he was but worst... the Guy that work on my phone did not even put it back together... he gave it back to me with it being apart and had major issues cause he Jimmy rig the crap out of my phone... I gave it to him to repair as a whole phone... so I ended up repairing it myself... and its working fine!!! Just want to save frost some money... xda been very helpful to me since I became a member

I removed mine months ago. It is difficult to tell, but I think removing it hurt my signal slightly. A bigger issue for me is which hand I hold the phone in. There is a two bar difference sometimes,
for real??gonna try it tonight.
What exactly is it?

I believe it is there to prevent static electricity from your hand effecting the antenna, but I have been wrong before.
There was a thread about this the week the phone came out.
